Mitsubishi Outlander extended warranty
The dealership Mad-City Mitsubishi Kunes Automotive sold me an extended warranty program that they would not acknowledge. It cost me $4,000.00. The dealership service department advisor told me that he wouldn't accept the warranty and said that anything that is considered damage would be under your insurance. It was a natural defect of the product. Molding came off of the roof in the car wash. The warranty states it takes care of all dents, dings, interior rips, and the like. I asked for a complete refund. I offered a settlement not to complain, or court action. I offered an official offer to settle without so much as a word of complaint. They were not interested. I never got a written reply.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate an apology and a refund.

2022 mitsubishi outlander/ hood flutter
I purchased my 2022 Outlander in December 2021. While driving on highway or any rate of speed the hood flutters and bounces and looks like it's going to come up and hit my windshield. I brought the car in for service and the Service specialist told me yes it's an issue that we know about, but there isn't a fix. Meanwhile I have to drive a vehicle, pay 600.00 a month for it and not feel safe driving it. After months of complaining and taking an Uber to get back and forth to work. The dealership told me the part was on order but they had no idea when it would be in for install or if it would fix the issue. After another two weeks and me calling them three times, the service department told me that Mitsubishi would not release the parts needed for my vehicle. Another month went by and I physically brought the vehicle in for something to be done about this issue. The Service technician told me, we have the parts/hood replacement but we can't fit you in for repair for another week. An appointment was made for a week later and I brought the vehicle for the repair. The tech told me we would have the vehicle for a few days and gave me a loaner. A week later I received a call that my vehicle was done/repaired and I can pick it up. Well the repair did not work, the hood is still fluttering, not to mention there is a 1/4 inch gap on each side of the hood that looks horrible and the color is different than the rest of the vehicle. It looks as though the hood belongs on another car. This is not the vehicle that I signed a finance contract for. Mitsubishi thrives on their number one safety rating and this just isn't true and doesn't exist. I am extremely frustrated/unhappy and will never purchase any Mitsubishi vehicles/product in the future and will also make sure no one I know, family or friends do also. This was a KNOWN issue, known since March of 2021 by both Mitsubishi and by the dealership and they kept selling the vehicles anyway. They both lied! Very poor business on both parts
Desired outcome: I would like Mitsubishi to buy this vehicle back and reimburse me all of the costs, my down payment, my trade . etc. Admit there is a problem and fix it!!
Outlander hood fluttering
VIN# JA4J4TA86NZ035959
To whomever can help me,
My name is Martha Gardner,
I bought a 2022 Outlander ES back in February and the reason for this email is because when I drive on the expressway/tollway my hood flutters like a flag, and it looks like it’s going to popup and hit my windshield.
This is very concerning to me because it’s dangerous and instead of watching the road I am focused on the hood.
I called the dealership (Max Maddens in Aurora Illinois) [protected] where I bought the SUV and the service manager (Tony) told me my SUV is on the list to receive a new hood and it would be about a month and he would call me when they come in because they are on backorder. I texted Tony a picture of the hood latch that he needed. I called at the end of April and still no hood I texted him on [protected] his responds it’s still not in…I called today, and Tony told me the hoods are in but the latch they need to install the hood is on back order.
I am not blaming the service manager (Tony) for anything he’s been nice about it, but I was really hoping someone could deliver the parts he needs to repair my SUV. It is very scary driving when my hood is waving like that…
Any help from anyone that could delivery this part to this dealership would be much appreciated to get this fixed. Beside the hood problem I love the SUV…
Thank You,
Martha Gardner

Desired outcome: Please, Please, deliver the parts the service department needs to install my new hood so I can feel safe when driving on the tollway. I would be so grateful it we could get this problem resolved.
2020. PHEV Battery
My 2020 PHEV Outlander that I purchased in March 12, 2020, has a drive battery degradation of 21% after 32000 Km and 1% every 4000 Km. My dealership in Peterborough who has access to my vehicles computer 6 times has not reported this to me. I have complained about the battery drive time but was told nothing about the condition of the battery. The vehicle has a proprietary computer system making it very hard for another's to read. I recently purchased a computer reader for this vehicle and can now see what is happening. I feel that my battery has to be replaced and I can't get an appointment with my dealer concerning this matter
Desired outcome: Battery replacement
Airbag
I was driving my car in a parking lot and my foot hit the gas peddle instead of the brake. I hit a tree head on and the airbag did not deploy. May 28, 2022
Des Moines, Iowa. 50320

Desired outcome: I received bumps and bruises and was dizzy after the impact. I was seen by a doctor at the hospital with Ackles and pain.
Employee Online Behavior
Is this how Mitsubishi tolerates how their employees act online? They carry your brand name and the website says "respect all people" mindset? I ask a legitimate question online and a sales employee replied by saying that me and my family should all die? And not to mention your socmed admin acts the same way when dealing with reports? If so, you should just take down the respect all people part in your company profile.
Desired outcome: Teach your employee that just because they are online they can act like [censored].
Rust on car - untruthful sales pitches
At the advice of the sales person at Whity, Ontario, I purchased the rust protection for my Mitsubishi Mirage. I was assured at that time that by purchasing this, I would never have a problem with rust due to the electric pulse going around the car and that should any break through, it would be covered under warranty.
This is not the case, and when rust appeared on the inside seals of the front door frame, passenger side, I was told it was not covered.
This is the second time Mitsubish has wrongly sold me a product. Additionally, on the same car, I purchased a plan that I was told would cover repair of any small stone chips and that I would be able to have these touched up twice within the period of the insurance. Alas, this also is not true and after one touch up, I was told nothing else would be covered.
We have purchased four Mitsubishi cars since being in Canada over the last 9 years (RVR, Outlander and 2 Mirages) plus had Mitsubishi's in the UK.
Sadly, this is the end of the road for us with Mitsubishi who frankly lie to secure a sale.
Desired outcome: Rust repaired on inside door seals.
Bill Holt dealership Canton GA- Scam
The worst customer experience ever in my life.
Gave me a quote of X amount(which was already 100$ more than official Mitsubishi website) for 24 month leave in the dealership. I didn't like the price so left. After couple hours I called and tried to bargain, they didn't come down on the price. So I said I will take the car for 24 month lease for the X amount which he initially quoted. I also asked him to check the price for 36 months which should be actually lower price than 24 months. He said it will take some time to run numbers but he never got back with that number. Anyways I called him I said I will take for 24 months.
Since I had no car with me I took a Uber to the dealership to sign the papers. They setup my account, download app and show me all the features, after waiting for so long finally finance guy called me to sign the papers and says that the price they gave me was for a 36 month lease but not 24.
I knew at that point they are trying to rip me off. So called Jason the guy who spoke to me about the 24 month lease and he started lying like a 4 year old that he said it for 36 months. I begged them not to do this to me and argued with them that the X amount they gave me was for 24 months. Jason said they will pay me for the Uber ride and some money for the time but they cannot make deal. He was so ruthless and unethical. They knew I did not had a vehicle, they knew I am desperate and they used that to rip me off.
The only mistake I did here was not taking a picture of the quote he gave me for 24 months.
Mitsubishi is losing customers because of dealerships like these. I don't know how much they made of this scam but it made me very unhappy and dissatisfied with the purchase. I would never go back to that dealership again and will never recommend it to friends.
Desired outcome: I hope people read this review and be proactive
Service/Warranty
In 2018 I bought the first Diamond Edition Eclipse Cross purchased in Nova Scotia and a large part of the decision was due to the warranty offered by Mitsubishi.
In September 2019 I took my vehicle in for warranty work because the Bluetooth connections would not work, nothing was done to correct the issue and I was charged $63.25. I did argue that and was told I would be refunded.
Today my vehicle was in for the blue tooth issue again, errors on the screen popping up, and rear speaker issues, in addition to the stud of a tire needing to be replaced. I was sent a video, which was which was impossible to hear due to the background noise, but also included the option to approve a work order of over $650. I called to inquire about the video and the warranty, which is supposed to be 10 year/160000km power train, my car currently has 87000km on it, and was advised because the tires were changed each season by someone else it would not be covered.
Not recognizing a warranty seems to be a pattern for Steele Mitsubishi, 3681 Kempt Rd, Halifax, NS, this most definitely will be the last Mitsubishi purchased, since the advertised Warranty is not at all what it is claimed to be. The attached pictures were before and after i was told it was repaired.
Desired outcome: All repairs completed under warranty

Mitsubishi Endeavor/ Team Mitsubishi of Hartford CT
Hi. I went to Team Mitsubishi in Hartford Connecticut because it had ok reviews with new ownership.
I needed a used car fast because my last car was totaled in a accident, and I had job interviews the following week.
I spoke with sales person Megan Marquis about a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor. It had 125k on it and they were asking $5900 for it. I waited for Megan to get the dealer plate but when she returned she said they could not find the plate so I could not test drive it on the street. Megan said we have a big parking lot just drive it around there, (I fell for that sales tactic) I said are you sure there is no plate? she said yes.
I get to the car open the hood and immediately see a tare in the serpentine belt. I start it drive around for 10 mins in the parking lot and return.
Inside I speak to sales manager Walter Ufo, he makes a offer of $7600, I tell him about the tare in the belt and ask is there anything he can do for that? he gives me a price of $7300 I said too high, and I ask what about the tare in the belt again, He comes back with a offer to take a vin number etching fee of $300 off and offers me $6967. I asked for a warranty and Walter UFO told me they do not have warranty for these kind of cars.
I felt the pressure of needing a car and thinking I’ll be ok because it’s a dealership and I’m just a regular hard working person, so they can be trusted. Not understanding that my safety was at risk and the dealership was responsible for having me sign a state of ct vehicle safety check of which I was not given to sign by them.
I bought the car and proceeded to drive 1 hour home. I stop for gas and as I go to get back on highway the serpentine belt brakes and the timing belt brakes and the motor blows out! I get it towed to my mechanic.
I contact the dealership and ask for help from the sales manager and all he kept saying was it’s sold as is so there is nothing we can do for you! I drove a car a couple of hrs and the motor blows up and all I get from all the people I spoke with at Team Mitsubishi hartford was “sorry nothing I can do for you.”I firmly believe that they new there were major issues with that vehicle and chose to sell it to an unwitting dupe. Yes that’s how I fell, like I was duped and ripped off! Anyone who reads this please help me. They finally came and towed the Endeavor over a month ago and Walter UFO the sales rep said he was sorry and they would fix it. I have not heard back from anyone at Team Mitsubishi of Hartford ct. they will not respond to my phone calls. I believe the car is at another shop and someone else is holding it. I’m losing lots of money everyday while they keep my Mitsubishi Endeavor I’m very upset please help me my name Is Steven Cornelio I am poor and now I’m out of work. Please contact me. email. [protected]@yahoo.com.
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of the money I spent please and thank you.
Mitsubishi outlander -2019
Purchased in Jun-2019 and so far in these years i run the vehicle approximately 22800 kms.. I am very happy with the performance and services provided by the Mitsubishi in Qatar..
The only issue i faced recently that suddenly i saw all the four tires are having deep long cracks and as per the feedback from Mitsubishi as well as other tire replacing companies mentioned that i should change the tire.
I contacted and visited the Mitsubishi service center in Alkhor and according to them the Tires are not in warranty as almost 3 near to 3 years and they are low profile tires. As it was unsafe to drive a single km i replaced the tires immidiately with my own expenses.
The only complaint i would like to register is that not only me but another collegue of mine having the same model faced the same issue in february and replaced the tires. For me it seems with such a low milages and less than 3 years of duration the Tires should not get damaged in this condition.
They are of good make like Good Year Tire. So kindly review the matter as it is important for Mitsubishi and Good year tires prestige.. and most importantly it involves safety of the Passengers as well as Car...
I hope you will do needful..
Desired outcome: Mitsubishi and Good year to review the tires used for outlanders and improve the TIres quality for the future models..If they found the matter genuine then please reimburse the tire cost we incurred from our pocket..
Didn’t give the car on the date of delivery
I would like to raise a complaint against Mitsubishi north side, Edmonton, Alberta.
I did visited the showroom and booked my car on 05.April.2022 and they promised me that I will get the car on 08.April.2022. They called me on 08.April and said I cannot get the car today as there is some issue with the train which was getting my car’s delivery and my car will be delivered on 11.April.2022.
So I called today on 11.April.2022 and they told me that it might get delivered later in the afternoon. I visited the showroom around 3pm to check if they got the delivery but to my shock they denied the delivery again and said they are not sure when it will be delivered. So this wait which was supposed to be for a few days has turned into a month or so wait.
They didn’t bother to check their email which was sent by the train company, they didn’t bother to keep me updated about the delay I had to chase them, they have spoiled my marriage anniversary gift.
It is such a shame for the brand that they are failing to fulfil the promise, failing to provide delivery to the customer and not communicating with the customer.
I want Mitsubishi to compensate it as it is not my fault that your team didn’t get the delivery. I have already started insurance for my new car and paying it without even receiving the car, you have already started your subscriptions(with payments taken from my account) and already given a date for the biweekly payment (even though I didn’t get the car yet) this is all happening because of the fake promises made by your team. This starting with your team has already broken my trust towards your brand and that too before getting the car let alone the driving experience. I want you to compensate, I don’t know how. Give me my car or upgrade the model, or get it delivered from another dealership, pay for my insurance, get the car fully loaded, I don’t know how but get it sorted.
I will certainly share my experience with my friends who were waiting to buy the same car after me. Will surely tell them to avoid it and go for other brands who are more transparent and give priority to their customers need.
I will be looking forward to your reply or I will escalate this matter.
Desired outcome: Compensate and give me my car ASAP
Stolen Catalytic Converter
Not only was my catalytic converter stolen but I filed a case with Mitsubishi only to be told that there was nothing to be done but wait 4 months for my part. 4 months without my vehicle. 4 months of rental fees with no assistance and/or care about the customer. Mitsubishi should do a recall and install a cage surrounding the part so it can not be removed again.
Desired outcome: Get me my part! Or buy back the car so I can go with a company that will care about their customers.
My Catalytic Converter was stolen two weeks ago. Upon placing it in the shop I was informed that there is a 4 to 6-month backlog for the part. This is unacceptable. I have a 2020 Outlander Sport with less than 25,000 on it. It's under warranty so I can not get an after-market part because it will void the warranty. I have opened a case with Mitsubishi just to be told that there is nothing that can be done. I have sent numerous e-mails and complaint requests with no further assistance provided from Mitsubishi. Offering $750 a trade-in for 2022 does not solve the issue if the converters are as easy to remove from the current model as the previous models.
I am in the same position my was also stolen and I was told the same thing... THIS IS RIDCULOUS THAT A COMPANY THIS LARGE WILL NOT HELP THE CUSTOMERS THAT BOUGHT THEIR PRODUCT! THEY HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGN MONEY TO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICE TO THIER CUSTOMERS WHO HELP KEEP THEIR LIGHTS ON .
Customer Service with replacement part is needed
My catalytic converter was stolen. My insurance company will cover the repair cost but the part is baglog because of the alarming rate of thefts. Mitsubishi allows customers to open a case that requires where you ordered the part, the part number and date only to be told there is nothing they can do. It will take 4 to 6 months to receive the part. Why have customers open cases if there will be no resolve. Mitsubishi is not offering any future protection for customers when it come to the theft of the converter. The only thing that they offered was a $750 off on a trade in. Why would I want another Mitsubishi when not only did the company not protect the current one but refuse to provide assistance with the repairs.
Desired outcome: Receive my part before 4 months, provide some type of theft protection against the part being stolen again or allow me to give this car back and buy from a different brand.
Infotainment system and USB charging works only intermittently if at all.
Vehicle has displayed problems with the USB charging and Infotainment head going blank and not working since vehicle was bought in August of 2021. I have taken the vehicle to dealer for service 4 times with no changes. This has been going on for 7 months already. I have been told they were ordering a new part for me, which has now taken over 3 months and I still have not heard from the dealer. Problem is worse in the cold and occurs more often. I am disappointed in the service provided and the attention to the problem. What do I need to do to actually get this fixed? I am now looking into the lemon law and what that entails as I feel I have been ignored and put off as not important? This car is my daughter's. She will be going away to school and I need this fixed prior to her leaving in less than 2 months.

Dear Torrel,
It’s been over year now, for the issues noticed after purchasing a brand new vehicle and which united motors promised to fulfil the following matters.
1) Windscreen and Side-mirror polishing
• The vehicle brought came with worn out wiper blades which caused scratches on my wind screen and there were some acid rain marks too on the wind screen and the side-mirror. (On the side mirror both sides has a white patch).
• Last time we did the polishing which was not up to the mark, they had just applied polish with the cloth and no marks/scratch were removed and also mention promised to completed job on the same day, but eventually took 2days and did a unsatisfactory job and also wasted my time and energy.
• This time I prefer united motors to use of power tools for polishing and just applied super-cut polish. Make sure to remove most of the scratches and all the acid rain marks.
• Afterwards the previous time we did the polish job, I personally had chat with you and we discussed the above matters and agreed.
• I also wish to monitor the polishing in person, since I am also an automotive technician I will be able take pic and video and explain with evidence if the job is not done satisfactory.
2) Replacement of Wipers
• This when I spoke to Rishan I mentioned him that brand new vehicle wiper wore out less than week is disappointing but I’m aware that wear & tear parts are not replaced under warranty, He too agreed but with his genuine heart and kindness, he somehow managed to promise to replace the wipers and get the windscreen polished. ( Wiper blades not replaced wouldn’t bother me, but knowing a genuine soul as Rishan exists in united motors is heart fulfilling)
3) Sunglass holder Replacement
After purchasing the vehicle 2weeks using the vehicle the sun glass holder pops out
4) Elcardo Back Door
• Door needs to be aligned for the 5th time.
• All the nuts needs tighten and double checked.
• Been there 5 times no proper job was done, 1st 2nd and 3rd door was not aligned properly 4th and 5th the nuts were not tighten at all. Going elcardo on our busy schedule is waste of time.
5) Service
• My vehicle requires periodic maintenance for 15000km.
• My concern and things I have noticed in my previous periodic maintenance.
- The resetting the dash board meters. This is done on one service then the next they don’t do. It looks like there’s no procedure as such in your maintenance.
- After wash there were water droplets marks on the bonnet and glass. ( They just splash the water and don’t wipe it properly which I have paid money for, That’s what I think)
- In all manufacture service stations, they need follow maintenance and repair service manual. Making mistakes on your everyday practice such as service maintenance is not up to the standard of Mitsubishi, If united motors is not up to the standard on their after service maintenance it’s not worth it and I rather service my vehicle with a 3rd party service station. We as customers are fond to maintain our vehicles with the company itself so that every service is done and components checked as mentioned the manufacturer periodic maintenance. Not like outside service station to just change oil and say service is done.
Therefore I would also like to state, in the past where Shanaka Pelpola (I assume the manager of united motors) insulted me for mistake he personally / the company made saying and meaning that the company can buy back the vehicle sold to us. Which he mean that we are worthless customers. And also customer care called within 15 mins after I spoke to you (Torrel) that day, they also called just for the sake of procedure. Because I requested them that Shanaka needs apologize in writing for insulting a customer, then again its united motors it never happened and not even customer satisfactory attempt was taken to resolve this matter.
All I want this time is not face any difficulties as such and, not waste my time and energy too.
Torrel you are the only one there I trust and know that has care for customers and handle customer issues ethically and cautiously. To be honest if it was not you I still wouldn’t have not purchased any vehicle with this current situation. My best friend from child hood Harold whom you are aware of too and whom I trust very well, has spoken very highly of you and has always told me having any concern regarding the vehicle go directly talk to Torrel he’s the only one will lend ear listen your problem and take measures immediately. Your attitude and my best friends word that still I hold on with united motors.
I humbly request you personally look into these matters and give me a date when can I get all these attended. I prefer sooner the better since it’s been more than a year.
Desired outcome: i'd appreciate a response and an apology from the Authorized dealer of Mitsubishi in Sri Lanka (United Motors)
