Macy's review: Job was offered to me, I accepted and then was ignored. ( 1 comment)

Hello. I have never heard of a situation like mine in any business! I will explain to the best of my ability.
In November 2021 (for the upcoming December holiday season) I was hired by Macys in Boca Raton, FL as a seasonal part-time POS ringer in the Fragrance Dept. I knew alot of the sales associates there as I had been a 9 year full-time employee at this Macy's from approx March 2008 until I retired Jan. 2016. (Previous employee # 858161). I initially worked in the INC Dept. and then Women's & Men's Fragrance for approx. the last 6 yrs of my employment. I was a star credit card opener and was Customer Service Award Winner for South Florida area in the early years of my employment in INC. Since I knew alot of the current sales associates in Frag as well as the manager (whom I have always liked alot and still do), I was welcomed with kindness & seemingly excitement (when I stopped in the Dept to tell the S. As that I was hired. There were many "so glad you're back on our team!" comments. I was so happy! But, even though I received 2 emails from Macy's welcoming me back; when I arrived for retraining, I was told that my application/ acceptance could not be printed out by the administrative/clerical pool. But it was fine on the computers just outside of HR! (and my computer at home)
So it seems like I was "unhired" before I even hit the floor! No phone calls to me explaining, none of my texts acknowleged! I was unpleasantly surprised that it appeared that I would not be a Macys employee after all. Why did this happen!
This is not the Macy's I knew.
