I reactivated my Macy's card, in store. Without telling me, the clerk opened a MAcy's card account. On the way out of the store in Serramenote, Daly City, I paid in cash the two items I purchased. Weeks later, I receive a statement that I owe the money. I went back to the same clek in Serramonte, showed her the bill, and showed my receipt of the money I had previously paid in cash. She said she cannot help me, I need to call corporate. The same day, I get home, and a statement with a $0 balance is in the mail, so I assume the issue was resolved, and I recycle all the materials, bills, and receipt. Weeks later, I get an email my account is overdue and I am charged fees for not paying. I call, and this Indian lady with limited vocabulary is not able to explain to me what's up, so I tell her that in this case, I want to close the account. After closing it, days Iater, I get a new statement, asking me to pay what had already been paid in cash instore, plus a late fee. Fraud. Still waiting for this to be resolved. Stay away from Macy's.
