Mastercraft 14 in 2 cycle, gas powered chain saw s145

There was a clearance sign - $79.27 was $169

it rang up regular price. I got a photo of the sign. Then they called the dept manager and he said he was sorry and the sign should not have been up and he took it down. but then gave an attitude, saying he told me it was a different product number, they had the clearance item and replaced it with the new one and that the sign should not have been up. I asked for the clearance price due to signage and he got mad. I told him there are truth in signage and bounty laws against false advertising. The sign was up on the product, the product description was exactly the same. He told me good luck with a lawyer and started making fun of me, because the item number that he could not read was different. HE COULD NOT READ IT. So how could a customer?

A store manager was called and she said that the product number was different so she would not honor the signed price. I told her that was illegal and she rolled her eyes and sneered.

I am sick of poor inventory management and then crappy service. This was their fault.

Honestly, I don't really care about the product, it wasn't what I came in for, but do you stupid job and accept the consequences when you screw it up.

They had false advertising. this is their fault.

BS they made me feel like a retard and a Karen. They should not have acted that way when it was their fault.

Laws protect consumers or we stop buying, as I did from Lowe's.

Desired outcome: a stupid apology. I don't need to buy their crap.

If you're in Newnan, Georgia there are certain consumer protecting laws that protect against deceptive pricing, even by mistake on a product. You were smart to have a photo of the sign to prove merchandising; it would be helpful to have photographs of the actual items that were being shown.

Simply telling a form of management they can't legally do something, doesn't persuade them to do anything. I'm sure there are numerous times they are told, "that's against the law" during any given week. You've got to show them out really is and you know the steps to take off they won't follow the law.

Start by contacting the location to determin who the general store manager and district manager are. These are the two individuals you'll work with to resolve their mistake fairly. You'll also want to get their direct email addresses.

You are going to email the general store manager along with CCing the district manager. Send them a discription of exactly what happened and the merchandise that was displayed with the sign.

The law you are going to reference is O.C.G.A. Sections 10-1-390 et seq. This protects against having products marked with the wrong price and then not honoring that price.

Give them a reasonable time to respond to your complaint. Explain that they need to sell you the product displayed at the price it was displayed with. If they fail to respond with, say 72 hours, you'll file a complaint with the Georgia Attorney General's

Consumer Protection Division, with supporting information.

The manager doesn't want the hassle, especially with the district manager (his/her boss) involved. And neither want to be investigated by the Attorney General's office, especially where you're in the right and there's a relatively small amount involved.

Let us know how things turn out.
