LG Electronics poor quality and poor customer care service

I purchased an LG Home Theatre System from Best Buy on February 5, 2009. On March 22nd, 2009 the DVD player started to lose it's picture and every 5 to 7 seconds the picture would turn black but the sound would still be heard. I contacted LG hoping they would actually offer to replace the system since the product was only a few days past the 30 exchange period. They refused and made me have the item repaired. So I am basically stuck with a brand new now refurbished LG product. The HT963TA was actually on a list that was sent out to all ASC (service centres) which informed that the product was to be exchanged and NOT repaired. The product was taken off the list in February yet LG was too cheap to offer me a replacement.
Here was my letter to them:
On February 5th, 2009 I purchased a brand new LG home theatre system from Best Buy. On Sunday March 22nd, my family was about to sit down to watch a movie. During the start of the movie the screen started flashing black. The sound was always there but the picture kept turning black. I tried to replug everything but nothing worked. I took the unit upstairs to my other HD TV and the same thing happened. I tried using 3 different HDMI cables but nothing helped. I tried contacting LG who told me that the unit had to be brought in for servicing at AudioVideo RD. When I called, the person I spoke to told me that this unit was on a list that was to be exchanged and not repaired. I was relieved because I believed I shouldn't have to be stuck with a refurbished unit I paid full price for only last month. When I called LG back they told me that the list was an old one from December 2008 and that a new list was distributed in February 2009. They told me I had to have the unit serviced. I am asking you politely to reconsider your decision as I truly believe that LG has a better reputation than to force defective products onto it's customers when the unit broke down only days after the 30 day exchange warranty expired. If you insist I have my unit serviced I will have no other choice but to do so. However, I will make the general public aware of the service you have provided and the quality LG has put out on the market. I am not making any threats here I am just pointing out the facts of how my case was handled.
This was their reply:
Hello
Thank you for contacting LG Customer service. We are here to help provide you with the answers or guidance you need. If you require further assistance please submit a new request or contact customer service at [protected].
Unfortunately after the initial 30 days the unit must be serviced. Please take the unit to Audio Video RD to have it looked at.

Well, I am keeping to my word and I am going to make everyone aware of the way LG has handled my situation. They are putting out poor quality products as they had these products on a list to be exchanged. They are aware of the problems but refuse to replace them. Their customer (we don't) care centre is a joke and only after numerous phone calls will they call you back with an answer. A pathetic one at that. I suggest to the world that even if LG is offering their products cheaper than the competition it is worth paying the extra buck to get a quality product that won't force you to have repaired two weeks after the 30 day exchange policy. AVOID LG PRODUCTS!

FOLLOW-UP:
They weren't budging and told me to bring it for servicing. After bringing it in for servicing they weren't able to fix the problem at which point LG offered to replace the unit. After waiting a few weeks and several emails and phone calls they told me there was a back order on the unit and it would take another month or so. I got fed up with their lies and empty promises and decided to take this to small claims court. I filed a suit against them and upon receiving a letter from small claims court of my intentions, a customer relations personnel from LG contacted me within a week. She asked what they could do to fix this. I gave them my demands and they were willing to comply. What I got was an upgrade to a Blu-ray HTSB. They also gave me a one year warranty on it. I've had the system for over a year now and have had no problems...KNOCK ON WOOD!

Our LG dryer Stainless steel tub cracked along the tub weld joint line and LG refussed to even supply the parts free after the repair facility asked them too. So we must make costly repairs or trash unit. We will never buy LG anything again and will tell everyone we can about their crappy products and the fact that they dont back them even when it is an obvious manufacturer defect! Dont buy LG!

LG Electronics, buy from them if you most, but be aware...Their return policy is: NO refunds or EXCHANGES !. they have developed the perfect system to make you keep their defective products, I purchased a gas range unit, on my first FIRST try, the thing was burning some thing like paper or metal, had to shut it down inmediatly, also this unit has a piece of metal on the upper ventilation system which prevents any cooking pot or frying pan to align in the center of the burner, there is a gap in between this piece and the unit that traps any food residue and ther is no way to clean it...what a mess! they have so far sent two so called "techs" and all they say is to open the windows, that there is nothing wrong with it, I am screwed with about $1, 400 ..can not use it..most likely have to re-sell it a a hugh loss...LG and Home depot the perfect combination...a bunch of wise guys...

I bought mine in dec 08 and the sticker on the back shows it was manufactured in Oct/08.
I am having the exact same problem as mentioned above, the picture goes black with the HDMI cable every so often but the sound is flawless. I too phoned LG and the fellow on the phone said to use the component video cables instead. What? A brand new upconverting DVD home theatre system and he wants me to simply use component cables which defeats the purpose of upconverting as component will only go as high as 480p. I am very dissappointed to say the least! If they do not do anything then I will make sure that everyone I know will be aware.

can any one help

Yeah they're pretty ###. I bought a 23 inch monitor from them last year and I never had a need for the HDMI port on it until I got an xbox360 I tried it out and sure enough it was broke. So I contacted LG received a number for shipping and sent it in. It got to them and about two weeks pass with no email to me regarding the state of it or if I was being shipped a replacement so I contacted them and was told that it had already been delivered to me (Lol) I told them it hadn't and they told me I needed to contact Fedex without them giving me a tracking number... I tried to explain this to the rep but he obviously didn't give two ### to listen. So finally the next day I talk to the same guy and he tells me how he made a mistake that it is on the way now. When I finally got it expecting a new one or mine fixed and returned I look in the box and they have sent me a beat up "returdished" monitor with horrible body work and ware. So I hook up it and guess what! The colors are completely screwed and the screen is blurry. I contact them again only to be told that I will not receive a new one I will get another refurbished one. So I email two seperate LG reps multiple times with a response here and there. Now they have stopped answering my emails about getting my original monitor fixed and sent back instead. I guess it's going to take me sometime to get a working monitor from them... either that or they will pretend I don't exist until my 3 year warranty expires...

Yep, there it is again - the famous LG customer service! I'm having a similar "couldn't give a cr...p" attitude from LG this time in Portugal and with a LG KP500 cell phone. It is not even a year old - it's gone in some 3 months ago because it kept switching off and they slapped on the "famous" software update (on a cell phone that's around 5 months old?) then second time it goes in because the battery would not charge - found that the contact by battery charger slot "snapped" off the board and for this..."sorry, not covered by guarantee" so have the board fixed AT A COST THAT'S VERY CLOSE TO A NEW UNIT! Now that's business for you - sell low quality item, when it packs up, force customer to buy new one based on some sloppy excuse for a lousy product...replace the unit? Neeeeever, it'll bring LG worlwide down in this time of crisis, total financial ruin! LG products? NEVER AGAIN! NONE WHATSOEVER! And more - I'm getting rid of ALL LG products I have in my home ASAP...

Same here..they should stop giving their customer services at all. I had problems with my LG AC. After trying hours, I could reach customer care and they assured me that someone will call me up for the complain logged. Nobody turned up and I kept trying to reach them many a times and they kept telling me stories and excuses. At the end of next day, a service engineer stopped by at my place. He did his basic inspection, collected his visiting charge and assured me that he'll come back early morning tomorrow. Next day, I kept trying that service engineer but he didn't even pick his phone till the time of my writting this review. Don't know when a tiny problem of my AC is going to be solved by this awesome customer care. So please be aware of the fact that don't expect support from the LG customer care. Better you choose your own freelancer mechanic for sorting out your LG products problems.

I would never buy an LG product again myself. We purchased a frontloader washer and dryer set from Future Shop, November of 2007 and on December 2008 the washer stopped working. The washer was actually acting up about 2 months after I purchased it.
I was out of a washer for 2 months. That's how long it took to try and figure out the problem between the technicians at LG and the technician that was called by Future Shop to fix the problem. No one has been able to figure out the problem to this day, April 2009, the washer works when it feels like it and then quits. Future Shop will not replace it even though I bought a 5 yr extended warranty on the units and LG could care less because it's past the manufacturers warranty. Never again as far as I'm concerned. LG SUCKS! I'm also questioning the Extended Warranty offered by Future Shop and Best Buy.

LG Electronics defective tv/poor customer service

This is a letter I sent to LG Electronics after having no success with customer service for defective TV still under warranty. It describes my experience.

My LG (Life is Good) TV (26LG40)

Pretty as can be
Pretty as can be, my 26 inch LG TV
It has a slot for a DVD
When I fed it a movie
It liked it so much
It wouldn't give it back to me

Oh dear, oh dear oh dearie me
I begged and I pleaded on bended knee
It finally caved in and spit it out

And oh what a growl, a groan and a shout
But then it stopped, it stopped talking to me
I begged and I pleaded on bended knee

My pretty as can be LG TV
Was only six months
A young'un to me
It still has a warranty good as can be

Oh doctor oh doctor oh doctor LG
Please come and cure my pretty LG

Oh no, oh no, it's too little you see
It's only six months, you surely agree
You must box it up and send it to me
I'll send you a label to ship it for free

A box? A box? A box also for free
Will you send me a box for free

Oh no of course not, that's your responsibility
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
You get a box, I'll send you a label
With that label you can ship it for free

But a box, a box, box is not free

But you get the label to ship if for free
So generous, so generous we are at LG
We think you must surely, surely agree

A box that size is not easy to find
I think your expectations are not very kind
You said I need to send it by Fed-Ex
A very fine business, is that Fed-Ex
So I trekked to a Fed-Ex store
And spent many minutes more
They were kind, so very kind
But the right size box they had no more

Oh dear, oh dear oh dearie me
What can I do to ship it for free
I trekked down the street to the UPS store
I thought it could be, it just might be
That he had a box the right size for me

Oh yes, the right size don't you agree

Oh yes oh yes I shouted with glee
It's just the right size for my LG TV

He looked straight at me
Did you say LG
He was thinking he'd buy a new LCD TV
He shook his head sadly
When he heard of my plight
He saw an LG he thought was just right
But after my story it wouldn't be right
He'll find another brand sure to delight

I asked him how much the right box would be
He said he was sorry it wouldn't be free
The box with the bubble wrap would be $19.47
I gave him a twenty with change of fifty-three

As I walked out the door he called out to me
If you have any more trouble
Come back in
I'll see what I can do to to help you
And your pretty dead LG TV

Oh Mr CEO or is it MS
Perhaps you could help me
I'm sure you're a whiz
You're company's so large
I'm a customer so small
You might send me some money
I ask only a twenty
That's the cost of the box so that twenty is plenty

Oh my oh my how the minutes did fly
Trying to find a box the right shape and the right size
But I'm willing to give you those minutes for free
That's very generous, yes generous of me
Wouldn't you agree
Agree
Agree

I await your call I await your call
That you'll give me a box for free after all

But the label, the label the label is free?
You said you would sent it in days one, two three
It’s been two weeks and hasn’t come to me

The moral of this story :
If you have a pretty dead pretty little LG TV
You must send it back to the factory.
The shipping is free
But getting a box and a label is hard as can be

It’s clear to me now
That LG doesn’t know how
Or doesn’t quite care
How their customers fare

I am a customer of LG Electronics using refrigerator and microwave from your company. I purchased the Refrigerator in 2017 but find problem today regafrding cooling. I lodged a complaint with LG customer care and to my shocking surprise, the complaint was forwarded to Perfect electeronics asnd their rep. visited my home posing as LG Engineer, purported to have replaced the items, charged Rs.2100/- whereas the problem has not yet resolved. I would like you to find out the nexus between customer care office and pvt operators to avoid any reputation loss to LG Co. I am taking this issue with Consumer cell also.

We purchased what we thought to be a very nice surround sound about a year ago and have been able to use it for about a month total. It has broken 3 times and has been sent in three times to be repaired by LG with no results. The last time that we received it back it was broken on arrival, they didn't even fix it when it was sent in. We then call to get a refund or something equivalent and we are told they need our receipt when we sent in with the original unit to be fixed. (Our mistake for not making a copy). They then expected us to drive three hours to get a receipt printed from where we originally purchased it from because they do not know how to keep records correctly. This is the worst experience that I have ever had with a company. The only way to make this right is a full refund and I will never buy or recommend LG again.

This is a complaint about my lg dvd recorder. mine was 9 months old when it had a motor failure. the part was under warranty, but lg insisted on charging me $85 for the labor to fix it - even thought it was caused by their failure. I had purchased it at best buy and they went to bat for me to try to get lg not to charge me this fee. lg refused. best buy replaced my lg with a sony for a couple more $. lg didn't care about the customer, and didn't care if they lost my business. I will never buy an lg product again and recommend that you not purchase one either.

After buying the A/c for a month now the LG customer care is claiming tht they do not have the stock of the filter which was not provided with the new Unit .Although we had to undergo an ordeal to get the A/c after paying cash down in Advance and waiting for good 2 days, If allowed i will never recommend any LG products to any of my known people. We had previously purchased Washing machine, Refrigerator from LG before and had excellent service. Its quite rediculous to note that why your Aircondioning division operates in chaos.

I purchased an LG fridge in March of 09' here it is Sept 10' and my LG fridge has completely stopped working, no power! I was just informed that my warranty was only for 1 year and therefore I am responsible for the over $500 repair bill. Clearly LG only makes their products to last through the one year warranty. I would not get another LG product if it was free. If my review will change just one person's mind and stop them from buying anything LG it will have been worth my time to write this. DO NOT BUY LG! Worst appliance and customer service I have ever experienced!

Purchased phone prox April 2017. Would not hold charge. Determined after switching batteries that phone had problem, not battery. Got RA to return phone for replacement or repair. Couple weeks later got another phone as replacement. Packager at LG service had put staple through box and cracked face of phone. I got another RA and returned that phone. The same phone came back a week or so later with note that "This producdt is damaged and not repairable. Corosion all over the main board." I explained to LG service we had not used the phone but that it had been shipped back to them in a matte of minutes of being opened. They gave another RA and I returned it again. Recieved it this date. Same phone. Same note about prior damage. We did not damage the phone. It was sent to us like that.

I was lied to by the Sprint representative at the store in Wilton Mall, Saratoga Springs, NY regarding the LG Remarq phone. I was told this device came with an microSD card..it did not. I was told the phone had a video camera...it did not. I contacted sprint regarding the clerk who sold the phone to me...said they could give me a discount on the card? I contacted LG to find out what I need to do ( I have since let my phone lapse with sprint...I don't intend to pay for this crap) and they said I need to contact Sprint. I addressd the situation that I was misinformed about their product by Sprint. If they have a business partnership...it would be beneficial for the both of them to make sure they are selling the same product...as it comes from the store. I blame LG just as much if not more than sprint, for not ensuring their product is not being sold under false pretenses.

Would someone just own up for this mess?

I wouldn't trust either company...not anymore. Also, the LG phone...which was guaranteed (by the Sprint Store representative) not to pocket dial anyone...did, about 10x a day. Do no t buy this phone, or trust a Sprint store.

I had purchased an LG Intello washing machine from Vasanth & Co, Porur, Chennai(Invoice No.[protected]) on the 27th Oct, 2017, this was delivered on the 30th Oct, 2017.I had my repeated calls to the dealer on the 31st Oct to find out if the installation would happen on Saturday (1st Nov, 2017), he promised it will happen and I would receive a call from LG Service centre. It has been found that after several follow ups the call was registered on the 1st Nov, 2017 and I received an SMS for the confirmation (S8CB0104084).
I receive a call on the 1st Nov from LG service person saying that he would visit my place on the following day between 10-11 AM. Unfortunately we didn’t see any one turn up on the Sunday (2nd Nov, 2017). Now looking at the above facts I’m wondering if LG is fully resourced to handle service calls/demo calls during such promotional sales. It has been 4 days since the delivery of the machine, I haven’t received any confirmation on installation yet, and do you expect me to install the machine myself.
It has been a week since the WM is delivered and there is no sign of LG service Rep.I am not sure what would be the service going forward.

All fancy colourful websites and workflows are more of a lip service when it comes to field level execution.

I am writing to you as a result of countless arguments and follow up
with the LG Customer care and Region Centers for a wrong buy.

We had bought a 42 inch TV from one of the famous retail outlets on
15th Aug'12 at Mumabi. The Outlet displayed a huge board of amazing
discount of 40% on a 42 inch LED 3D TV, which seemed to be an
irresistible buy for a middle class family like ours.

Having the TV delivered to my cousins house in Mumbai, we paid the
additional cost
of travel at the mumbai Airport to Bangalore.

On 23rd Aug we requested for installation of TV. Seeing no response
from the local LG team we asked the Call Centre guys for a POC at
Bangalore. NO BODY seemed to pick the phone even after ringing 10 - 15
times. After several other follow ups from the customer care we got
Mohans number. We were promised an immediate support within 24 hrs.
Again after several followups we had someone do the installation for
us. Post installation, the TV DID NOT TURN ON!

The Demo guy obviously had no idea what was wrong, said he would send
an engineer to fix it within 24 hrs. The procedure of us following up
continued when an engineer came to diagnose the problem. The same
story of being "lost" and keeping us in the "dark" continued when he
said, "Sir I don't know, you will get a call tomorrow". After several
followups from us AGAIN, and to and fro conversations, we get a revert
that they will not be able to replace the TV, they would however fix
it for us.

Now can someone or anyone answer me the below questions.

1. Why would i want to pay a huge lump some amount for a repaired TV
and still assume it as a new TV?
2. Aug '15th showed other brands of amazing discounts which we did not
opt for and bought LG assuming it was the best buy. If we are refunded
the money right now, will we have to wait for another festival to buy
a new tv?
3. We paid 62994 after discount. The local team claims to refund the
amount which was billed at the retail store. After 2 weeks of
maintaining the TV, ensuring the safety from mumbai to bangalore, who
is going to refund the extra amount of endless followups we have made
to the customer service, local team, Mr Mohan, the engineer and the
damage done to our walls due to drilling of the wall mount stand?

This is an absolute breach of trust and customer service. As a
customer i demand immediate revert on how will this be resolved. This
will also be my final communication to LG as a company for any
complaints. I will ensure I spend all my time and money at the
consumer court to receive justice on this.

LG Electronics servive overcharging

complaint to LG:

My LG washing machine leaks and I believe that the rubber gasket inside the door needs to be replaced. I contacted your service center in Phuket on Poon Poon Rd (tel [protected]). They quoted me 1, 800 Baht to replace and said that 1, 200 baht was the price of the gasket. I contacted LG in Bangkok and discovered that the gasket is only 552 Baht plus shipping & tax. I am requesting that you supply me with the "standard" price to replace the gasket and/or another location in Phuket that will provide a more "honest" service. If your service centers cheat customers and inflate prices in this manner, your customers will not purchase LP products in the future! Rather than be cheated like this, I'd rather throw the washing machine away and buy another one (not LG!). If I can't have it repaired in the next several days at a reasonable cost, that's exactly what I'll do. I look forward to hearing from you.

LG customer service reply:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your replying mail, I would like to explain for the standard of repair cost as below ;

- Cost of gasket is 762 Baht (Included Shipping Fee and Tax. 7%)
- Cost of Service is 749 Baht .(Included Tax.7%)

Please kindly confirm your convenience date for us again then we will provide you for the spare part and the exactly time of repairing.

We are looking forward to serve you very soon.

Sir,

The remote control for my 42-inch LG flat-screen TV is not working properly and I think I need a new one. I went back to the shop at Central Festival where I bought the TV (about three years ago), but they told me they could not sell me a new remote, but there was an LG shop somewhere in Phuket Town where I could buy a new remote.
I have been unable to find this shop. Could you please tell me where the LG shop is in Phuket Town, and let me have their telephone number?

LG Electronics no service no response

my LG washer/dryer combo gave me an error code, i logged a call for the repair, i was informed that i had to pay the call out fee of R427, 50 before anyone actually came out. I made payment on the 16 Jan 2009.on the 19 Jan a technician by the name of Regan came out, he informed me that it was the PC board and he would phone me with the price of the PC board the next day. He NEVER called. 2 days later on the 21 Jan, i phoned Cape Electronics(LG cape town) to find out the price of the part. The lady that answered knew nothing about it and said that she would find out from Regan and call me back. She did call me back and informed me that the part costs a further R891.97 and it had to be ordered from Johannesburg, so it would be here by the Monday.
Regan arrives on the Tuesday, 27 Jan with the part, but then sees that the latch is also broken and therefore the machine can NOT be fixed, he has to get that part from Johannesburg now and it costs a further R73.
I phoned his supervisor to complain, I got no where.
On the 28 Jan i called the call centre and explained by story, the lady said she would investigate and get back to me. She called me back later in the day to say she can not get hold of Cape Electronics and would call me back once she has heard from them. She NEVER called back.
On the 29 Jan i called the call centre again and spoke to Zamza who was unable to help me and referred me to another lady by the name of Sumaya, who NEVER called me back.
I called her back later and had to explain myself yet again.
she was rude and unhelpful.
later on the 29 Jan i called the head office and got the email address of the MD of LG South Africa and emailed him by story. I NEVER heard from him or any one from LG.
On the 30 Jan Regan finally arrived with the latch and fitted the part.
The machine worked 2 times and on the 5 Feb 2009 the machine made a sound and switched off, tripping the mains.
i phoned Regan and told him what happen, he said he would call me back by the next day no later than 12pm, as I was leaving on a overseas trip at 2pm.
He NEVER called.
i arrived back from holiday and on the 5 March I phoned Cape Electronics to speak to Regan and ask him when he will be coming out, he was not there, so i spoke to Arthur, who said he would get Regan to call me back.
Today is the 9 March, my machine is still broken, I have explained myself to at least 5 different people and emailed the MD and still nothing.
Life is good for LG, hey?

Dear Sir/Madam, On the 06/07/2015 I took my TV LG 47 inch LED to LG Service(ET 15 Electronics PTY Ltd) in Montague Gardens, 10 Stella Rd, Cape town .My TV is still working, but unfortunately from the Eskom Load Shedding, the TV have no picture, but sound for about 10 minutes, and then the picture comes on. And the TV works perfectly after this. I paid R.200 for quotation and I wait 4 Days for answer from them.Today I went fisically there to have answer for the quotation.I am sending you the attachment with the quot I have from them. Please can you respond to me to Whom I need to take my TV to be fix and according to the quotation I think that this is a Scam. I saw in there premisses they are selling second hand TVs and I presume are the TVs from the civil people who believe that there TVs are not wort the money to be fixed and they leave them there. Unfortunately I'm not one of them and I want assistance from You competitors to resolve this problem for not repairing my TV for the real service and price. My quotation from them is for new panel, that cost R.9200 excluding the labour, because they say is no power to the unit . I'm watching it at the moment . After I start the tv the picture starts in approximately 15 minutes, but we have sound. For me LG is good its just the services they provide are all not for the real price, as we expected. So the people who repairs the appliances must take a note from that. And we had to pay R.200 for there quotation. And I'm sure it is something small, because after it gets warm up it's working perfectly.

LG Electronics no service and no guarantee

I am sure about it that the buyers are suffering from a post-purshased aguish. I have been a victim of LG and I purchased LG Home Cinema- DV-55. They gave me the gurantee for one year of its best working but very unforgettably I found it worst the very next day as no film was displaying on the screen and a bad quality of sound exposed the Quality of LG product to me very next day . I like the company to take action against the showroom in Karachi and I love them to call me with all proofs. I like that to be replaced or refunded. the company will lose its goodwill in Karachi under such a group of pretenders.

LG Electronics defective sound system

On June, 2008 I purchased a 47" a LG package (LCD -TV with an audio system, from Best-buy in Markham. Few weeks later, when my children finished school I installed the system. The TV worked but the Audio system did not work. The sound was horrible, no access to the setup menu and the DVD did not work at all. I called Best-buy and I was told to call LG directly. So I called the LG customer service and they recommended that I buy new HDMI cables. I did but no luck. They kept suggesting different things but nothing worked. I kept calling the customer service (Note the LG Canada customer service they work Mon to Fri - 9am to 5pm! and the LG USA referred me back to the LG Canada who only work when I am out at work). Anyway, my calls to the customer service continued with no luck at all. By October I was told to take the unit to a designated LG repair shop, so I did. I was told it would take a week and they will call me back when the unit is ready for pickup. But two weeks have passed and no call. I called them to find out that they were waiting for a new DVD and sound parts, and they will call me within a few days. Another two weeks and no call. I called the repair shop and found out that they have received the DVD and the Audio parts but they were waiting for a motherboard parts! I called LG and I was put on hold for 45 minutes and when they returned back the line went off. I called again and the same thing happened on hold for a long period and when they return the line hangs up, this had happened many times. I sent a fax explaining the problem and asked them to replace the unit with a new one as I am not ready to take back a defected brand new unit.

My fax was received but no reply from LG. I sent them an email, again no reply. I talked to a customer service and asked if a supervisor or a manger to talk to me but they said no that is not possible.

However, I was informed that a new replacement unit order was issued and i will receive the unit within few days Nothing happened! I called almost every day but I get the same answer wait.

I asked if they can speed up the process so I can get the replacement unit before the new year holidays. They said they will call me. The holidays passed and here we are in January 2009 but nothing happened. Still I am waiting for my unit back. The same answer always, "WAIT...WAIT...someone will call you", but never anyone did return my call!

Since I purchased the unit I have called LG at least five times a week. Sent them e-mails, fax mailed them asked them to call me back but so far I did not receive any reply not even when they put me on hold for over half an hour and they hang the line up on me, they never call back to apologize or return my calls. I never ever had experienced a horrible treatment from any other company in the past.

I even asked them if they can provide me with a temporary working unit till my replacement unit is ready, just for the year end holidays and school winter vacation. Their answer was a complete neglect! and a big NO.

Before anyone purchases any product from LG please try their customer service and find out their treatment. also you can send me an e-mail to find out more about this unacceptable treatment, horrible service and cheap products!

Imagine you purchase a product for the summer vacation and summer ended and Christmas and new year holidays passed and winter holidays passed and you are still waiting from LG to have your system back. This is unforgettable nightmare!

LG Electronics electric range / oven

Purchased an LG Oven 2 years ago. It is and continues to be a "LEMON". We've had nearly every major component replaced and on Christmas Day the main element and motherboard shorted out and tripped our circuit breaker. All is now fried and must be replaced or repaired. LG agreed to extend the warranty (how nice) except for the fact that we've been without a stove for (1) month and waiting. We don't want it fixed we want the cash so we can buy a good stove from another company, since LG appliances clearly suck.

LG Electronics false advertising and horrendous service

I went to Game at Westgate mall in Gauteng on 16 December 2008. I intended buying a few major applicance from there and I first went to purchase a television set. There was an LCD full HD tv advertised for R 12 999.00. About three tvs down the line an advertising borad with the same specs advertised the tv for R9 999.00. I asked te salesman helping me which tv was that as that was the one I wanted. He looked at the board advertising the price and quickly removed the board. H ethen told me it was an advertising error, that was not the LCD but the plasma tv. I informed him that I was entailed to the price advertised and that was what I wanted, he agreed by law that was what I was entitled to but went to call the manager. He then came back and told me that due to the errror the manager was willing to give me the set at R 11 500.00, told him I wanted the advertised price and could he please call the manager. A merchadise manager by the name of IaN sLATER then came through. He looked at me in a dismissive manner, went to the salemen, took the board adertising the tv for R 9 999.00 from him, came over to me, in an abrupt manner said his name was Ian Slaater, inocrrectly misrepresented himself as the store manager, just told me that the price was human error and he was retracting it and walked away. I asked the salesperson waht happended to the price offer of R 11 500. He went back to phone mr slater and I was told it was no longer on offer.

On wednesday, I phoned a lady by hte name of Rina to complain I requested an oppology from Mr slater for his manneer as I belived his treatment towards me was because I was a black customer, she said she would investigate the matter and getback to me, A few hours later Mr ian Slater called, he said regarding the tv, he could now give it to me at R11 970, ( the third price on same tv set). I then asked him if that was the only reason he was calling he said yes, I asked him if he did not think he needed to oppologise, he said if I thought he had to oppologise he would and that he treats everyone that way. I requested a call from the store manager which he said he wouald ask him to call, the matter seemed to die a natural death with Game there.

LG Electronics service - lack of

A 3 year old LG Front Loader HE Washer showed error code LE.
A call to LG produced no local or regional servicing dealer. We are in central KY. A week later and calls to several repair services, finally found one from 60 miles away. Diagnosis revealed the need for a new motor. The motor is still under warranty. I have called the service several and LG. Replacement or refurbished motors are generally not available. LG suggested I look at a junk yard to find a used motor. The repair service is still trying to get a unit from LG. Today LG tells me to remove the motor and take it to an electric motor repair shop.

Service - Well No.

I have owned the washer and dryer for almost 7 years now. I didn't have any problems until recently when a sensor failed on the washer. I also need to replace the electronic controls on the dryer. Skips over the Normal dry selection but works fine on every other setting. All in all, these have been very good machines for me. However, I would never recommend them for a 2nd story laundry room.

LG WM1814CW front load washer.
We have owned it for just about 3 yrs now, purchased at Home Depot along with its acompanying dryer for $1600.00. It was installed by Home Depot as well
The drain pump has burned out, Why? Because the drain hose in back was pushed all the way down to the bottom of the drain pipe, which restricted adquate air flow for proper drainage. Due to poor installatiuon.

there is also a tremendously foul smell coming from the washer which is ruining my clothing and the electronics fail on occasion.
A washer at this price should last at least 7-10 years and it seems I am at the beginning of the end for this machine.
I have learned that this company has been receiving several complaints with regards to many of the same issues I mentioned.

I am currently out $450.00 in repairs because of this. Even the repairman agreed and has replaced motors on many LG's because of the poor ain pipe installation.

Life's Good? not with this product.

Motors rarely ever fail on LG washers.
The most common cause of an "LE" error is overuse of detergent.
In most cases--simply disconnecting power and re-plugging the washer will "reboot" the main control (clear the error message) and allow continued use of the washer until the next oversuds occurs.
If done repeatedly--eventually the component that fails is the HALL EFFECT SENSOR.
This sensor overheats when heavy suds "drags" the basket (or tub) during the high speed spin cycle and eventually "quits"---triggering an "LE" error which eventually cannot be remedied by simply removing power to the washer.

HALL EFFECT SENSOR p/n: 6501KW2002A ($12.95).

After a new sensor has been installed--it is IMPERATIVE that the correct type and amount of "HE" (High Efficiency) low suds type detergent be used.
Three concentrations of "HE" detergent are commonly sold:

HE (regular strength): (2) Tablespoons Per Wash
HE 2X (double concentrated): (1) Tablespoon Per Wash
HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon Per Wash

Using the correct type & amount of this detergent prevents the following:

1) Error message & interrupted cycle.
2) Musty odor
3) L-O-N-G cycle times (far in excess of estimated time displayed).
4) Water leak (small amount).
5) Insufficient cleaning results.
6) Damage to the HALL EFFECT SENSOR over time.

LG Electronics cracked head on gt150 scooter

When I initially received my GT150 Sport scooter from lg wholesale, within a week I noticed small drops of oil on the garage floor, I continued to ride in hopes that maybe a seal had not yet set, but the leak became worse and worse. I began attempting to contact LG wholesale in June only to be referred to an automated message to use the chat board. I continued to try to contact an actual person to no avail. Finally at the last of July, I knew something was definitely wrong when I had to add oil to the scooter after riding less than 10 miles. I recmoved the outside panels and it revealed that the motor had a hairline crack whre the bolts had been tightened from the factory. I continued to try to get a person on the phone until I accepted the fact that the opnly way to communicate was through their on-lin chat service, which also proved to be a joke. I had purchased an extended warranty for $79.00 upon my initial payment of the scooter. When I did get someonbe on "chat" their first question was did I havce the extended warranty, which I confirmed, I was constantly delayed for numerous reassons, but I reamained persistent. i was instruicted to take pics and email them, I heard nothing, I got back on chat and questioned the status to be told I had sent them to the wrong address, I resent them to thier "requested" address the second time, then heard nothing, approximately a week later, I got back on "chat" again asking the status, this time which was mid-October I was emailed a parts warranty form. I completed the form immediately and inclosed a $10..oo M.O for shipping cost. It was placed in the mail on October 16, 2017.
Todays date is 12-02-08 and still no response. I thing they are intentionally delaying for my extended warrnaty to lapse or either they have no intentions of helping me repair my scooter, so therefore I spend $1385.00 for a piece of junk with no service support. The only reason I chose this company was because of the extended warranty. I had known they were not going to honor it, I never would have bought the scooter.

I purchased a moped from them for my employee, George Bowerman. Along with the moped I bought 1 year of parts warranty for $79. I ordered a speedometer from them and waited over three months. When they could not find the part, I did a live chat over their web site and asked them if I could buy that part and a piston and rings from the wholesaler that they bought the moped from. They said I could and all I had to do was fax them the receipt and they would reimburse me. I faxed them the receipt over a month a go and I have done a live chat at least three times. and they will not send me a refund of $113.31. My moped sales receipt is #12463 for a 50 cc Italia Touring Moped the total sale was $1, 128.90

LG Electronics terrible company

It will not freeze and the service that LG provides is terrible! I bought a $1600 fridge freezer in December 2005 and it hasn't worked very well for the first two months. We tried to get a repairman and now he has broken it so it doesn't work at all and we have been without a fridge freezer for over two months! All I get when I call is an answering service. The unit is to be replaced, but they didn't say when. That was two months ago! I would recommend you to stay away from LG products. The service is terrible! If I knew then what I know now about LG I would still have my sears! As old as it was, it worked! And I never had to call a repairman on it.

LG Electronics terrible company, selling bad products

It doesn't clean the dishes at least half of the time. The detergent does not get dissolved. After nine months of operation on my LG LDS5811WW, it appears that the motor has burnt out, and getting a service appointment has been one problem after another. This is the second major LG product that I have had problems with (the other was a TV), and calling customer service is an exercise in futility.

LG Electronics big mistake

When we bought our LG RZ-20LA70 we were quite pleased but after a year it blew up! We called LG direct! But wasn't them direct was a sub contractor help line who couldn't help! Called them 3-4 times! Wrote to LG twice with no reply. Technicians report was the main circuit board had blown. Cost of repair of £150 + I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING LG LCD TVs TO ANYONE AS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY BAD. We have been since to many electrical outlets and to which none of them advised LG. Shame we didn't visit these first. £400 + television (at the time) useless now! unless we pay for repair. TV manufactured Sept 06 and we purchased Sept 06 TV was actually turned on October as it was a present TV died October 07. If buying LG take out the extra warranty because you will get no joy otherwise. They just don't want to know!

LG Electronics defective lg &premium& dryer dle2532w

What happened?

The Drum separated from back housing rendering the LG Dryer completely useless. The service tech said LG should cover since this was a defective design. LG refuses to cover since it's older than 1 year.

History:
Purchased a 'premium' LG Dryer. 4 months after purchasing there was a problem with the dryer. Called LG and stated that it was noisy, but service tech they sent out did not find anything wrong so he replaced the motor.

5 months after the warranty was up, the dryer completely stopped working due to a safety switch failure which I had repaired out of pocket.

4 months ago, the drum completed separated (which was probably why the dryer was always noisy, and cause of lint accumulation which burned out the safety switch).

Letter to LG: (this is the 3rd attempt to have LG repair and the latest)
Customer Service Product/Model No. : Laundry Dryer/DLE2532W
Dear LG Service Representative, I'm writing you regarding a defective 'premium' LG dryer I purchased. On 05.31.03 I paid $770 for this LG dryer at Best Buy On 11.26.03 I had Warranty Service performed because dryer was noisy and vibrating, MR. APPLIANCE could not find source of problem but replaced motor. On 12.01.04 dryer stopped working and I paid out of warranty service to replace relays that protect dryer from catching on fire. On 05.05.08 the noise became substantially louder and I tried to get service without success - but the service technician stated this should be covered under warranty since this was a known defective design, where the drum becomes separated from back housing. Please note too that this was a problem I called in 6 months after purchase, and probably the cause of the lint build up killed the dryer that I paid for repair out of pocket to repair a relay. Please let me know if you are willing to cover costs of parts to repair this $770 defective LG dryer like should have been done to begin with. Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely,

LG Response:
We are delighted to hear from you as our Valued Customer. We sincerely regret that you have experienced difficulties with your LG Product. While we constantly strive for better ways of keeping maintenance to a minimum, occasional failures can occur. The manufacturer’s limited warranty is designed to take care of any failures in the early life of the unit. Once this warranty has expired however, the consumer becomes responsible for any repair. Your unit is now out of the manufacturer’s warranty and we are unable to assist you with the expense of this repair. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division at [protected] at your convenience. Adolfo C E-mail Administrator Customer Interactive Center LGEAI

In summary:
If this is how LG treats their customers who are willing to pay TOP Dollar for their "Premium" Products - then Buyer Beware! I will never and would advise folks to never buy their products. This dryer is a pc of junk.

We bought ours used and on day 2 it stopped working. I discovered the lint trap tray is the actual culprit. It has a rubber trim and I noticed ours had a small section missing which caused lint to fall into the unit. My husband took it apart and there was TONS of lint...piled up on the heating element and all inside. A wire was even singed. It cost us $150 more to have it fixed and it was a total fire hazard! BIG TIME fire hazard! It also melted the wheel that spins the barrel.

I agree with Jeff, we also purchased the same dryer and 2 years ago it started thumping. Upon inspection the drum is split open on the seam just inside the door. The dryer has very low hours, this is definitely a known defect that should be replaced under a recall. There are literally thousands of units with the same problem, and LG has no liability? Where is the BBB.

LG Electronics warranty / fraud

I purchased two 125cc Go Carts from Legion Global (LG Wholesale) on 11-9-07. One of the cats broke down the first day I ran it. Since then i have spoken to them about 50+ time about the parts and I get the same story every time, they will check and get back with me or they are in the mail. Not only that, they took my money for the shipping of the parts on 2-25-08. As of today 10-27-08, they have never returned a phone call and i still do not have the parts. This company is fraudulent and something needs to be done to keep them from ripping off everone who makes a purchase from them. I have spoken with someone named Matt in the parts department, and an Ellie, I dont know what she does, and cant get any answers. This place is an absolte JOKE!

I agree, but it gets worse. We purchased the 125cc super wrangler and it broke down the first day as well. There is a flaw in the engineering of the go kart. We have to keep ordering the same part over and over again because every time the go kart hits a bump, the piece brakes because it is right next to the frame. It is engineered to brake. Go karts are meant to be ridden in rough terrain, so the location of this part should be elsewhere.

Abosolutely aggree this place is a sham. I bought the 125CC super wrangler go kart and this thing is a piece of crap. Can't get throught to anyone at the business. When I do call I get hung up on, and if I do get through to someone then they can't understand what my problem is. When the go kart came there is no assembly manual or anything to tell you how to put it together. Never have gotten this resolved. They need to have as many people that have had problems to report them to the attorney general. They are total scam artists.

LG Electronics motor

motor leaks oil, bolts falling out in several places, axle nuts coming loose allowing axle to shift, battery does not hold charge for any length of time, called an ATV but owner manual says not to ride on hills or climb up inclines ( what does ATV mean anyway) false advertisement in my book. These 4 wheelers are less then 2 weeks old, and all this happened after 1st day! I am going to visit these people in person and I live 600 miles from them. They will understand what a Redneck from Arkansas will
do after I am done!

These people are con artist, I bought one in July broke down would not shift in less than 4 months, they had it for 2 months and never called one time, after I filed complaint with BBB some half wit from their Memphis store calls and tells me they got it ready and I owe over 800 bucks for repairs, their response to BBB complaint was nothing but lies, their theme as you can see by all the complaints is customer abuse, my unit had 50 miles on it, was garaged and adult driven for the 50 miles it had on it, not done with them yet going to see lawyer and state attorney, best thing we can do is spread the word on these crooks I can assure you I will cost them more in sales than what they think they have stole from me.

LG Electronics screen problem

Hi !

My name is Santosh Upadhyay. I am your customer as i have bought LG Flatron 29' T.V. in Feb. 2009. I would like to bring your attention that, I am a very dissatisfied customer as i have been through with a lot of inconvenience bcoz of the bad and disgaceful services. I have been a long time LG customer but now to be very straight forward with you, after going ahead with this situation, i will never plan to buy any LG product or will recommend to any of my friend and family. I have a very bad experience about the service from LG and Home Town. Previously i had a faith and confidence in the brand that if i will buy any product that would be of LG.I have bought this TV in Feb and from that time onwards it has been replaced thrice and now once again it is on the way to be replaced. I have complaint to the customer services in home town then LG but they are keep sending technicians to repaiir this, which has been done two times already. TV is malfunctioning as i am not able to view anything. Display is not working.
I am fed up now and would like to mark a very serious complaint against this to some one in the highest authority. It is my hard earned money and giving no results possitively. I don't know what should i do. I am really in trouble and want some one to please resolve it ASAP so that i can live my life normally. As market is so competitive and every company is looking to provide the best customer services, I would like to request you to please go through with this e-mail and take some serious action against this. I have already spoken with the Area Manager Mr. Manish Gupta, Vaishali and Mr. Rajiv but didn't get any satisfactory reply. Every body is just beating around the bushes. I would really appriciate if i will get my faith once again in LG or HOMETOWN.

With a great hope waiting for reply,
thanks & regards,

LG Electronics terrible repair service

We purchased a LG dishwasher for $800.00 from Best Buy along with the maintenance agreement. Two months ago, August 2017, I called Best Buy to let them know the dishwasher was making an odd rumbling sound. They sent out a repair man who was here no more than 10 minutes to tell me the dishwasher probably had a seed or some loose food rumbling around and the dishwasher was just fine. September 12th I called Best Buy again because now the dishwasher was not cleaning or drying the dishes at all. I was told that it would be 2 weeks before a repairman would be out. Two weeks went by, a man from the “Geek Squad’ arrived. He looked at the dishwasher and quickly surmised that the motor was not working. Of course he did not have the motor with him; he advised he would have to order it. I asked how long that would take, and he said at the most 10 days. It has been an entire month since I first called in the repair and I still do not have a working dishwasher or have yet had anyone return. I called Best Buy today, October 10th asking where we were in repairing my dishwasher and was informed that the part order had been cancelled. I asked, why? The woman said she was sorry, but that she really did not know why. She said she would turn in an order to reorder the motor. I asked how long would that take? Four days, but that she would put a rush on it. This is unbelievable to me. No one called to let me know that there had been a cancellation in the order, no one called to let me know there was a delay. Of course I have to take time off work everytime the repairman comes out.
I vow never to buy a single thing from Best Buy again.

I detest LG. Huge waste of time, money- aggravation level through the roof. My dishwasher has never worked properly... doesn't clean, doesn't dry, takes too long to cycle. Pump went bad- not covered by warranty. 5 weeks, $350 to get a new one that has gone out after only 4 months. (There is only a 90 day warranty of the pumps) This company should not be allowed to sell in the US. I'm writing off my losses and buying a GE. New Orleans

I am currently having the same problem. The motor on our lg dishwasher went in just over 2 yr of use. This is the 3 rd problem we have had with our dishwasher the 1st was in the first 2 months of owning it. . The problem is not with best buy but with lg itself. LG is terrible about having knowledge on thier own product, service help, getting parts, Now that I can get the parts it will be over $600 plus labor, the motor is only covered under warrenty for 2 yrs. so now my high end dishwasher is done in as well as my pocket book. My advice shop best buy, Just DON'T BUY LG>>>>>
