Kroger review: Pharmacy

I’ve misplaced my driver’s license. It has been missing for about two weeks. I know it is in my apartment somewhere but due to difficulty breathing as well as extreme fatigue issues, I am unable to look for it beyond what I’ve already done. I have a state issued ID from when I worked for the state. It has a photo on it.

I’ve been a customer at Kroger for 40 years. They know who I am. I’ve had this medication filled there for years. They tried to tell me it is law that I provide a state issued ID and they refuse to give me my medication because I’m missing my drivers license. This medication is necessary for sleep - not optional. I have several autoimmune disorders as well as collapsed bronchial tubes. Lack of sleep severely affects my ability to function.

There is not a state law requiring ID. Furthermore, I can find no information saying government ID is required by Kroger. Photo ID, but no form listed anywhere. This pharmacy has engaged in a power struggle with me over something extremely petty. An ID is an ID.

They told me to have someone else come pick it up. If it wasn’t such a hassle that might be an option, but I’m not going to ask someone else to spend an hour going to the pharmacy and waiting because I should not have to do that.

This has inconvenienced me because now I have to make another trip to the pharmacy. I’m not well. It’s hard for me to get out, and having to make multiple trips wears me out to the point I can do nothing at all for a week. This is not providing an easy pharmacy experience.

One more thing. According to the Ohio Revised code, should anything happen to me medically because they are holding my medication hostage the pharmacist at Kroger can and will be held legally responsible for my pain and suffering.
