Kroger review: 400x denomination of gift card digital coupon

Today we went in to Kroger for the last day on a digital coupon to buy a gift card for 4x the gas points per dollar. We asked and no one could tell us anything about it. This is the second time we have tried to buy a gift card when they were offering extra points. My husband stood at the customer service desk for 10 minutes just to find out they knew nothing.

Desired outcome: To either be able to buy a gift card with the offer that expires and/or have it explained to me.
