Very disappointing
I have used these mixers for 30 years. I passed on my trusty Epicurean bowl lift mixer that had seen 20 plus years of major breadmaking. I wanted a bigger bowl. Got new mixer. The finish marred/scratched easily. The bowl vibrated when mixing. Long story short, Kitchenaid did send replacement BUT it was missing a beater. I put these mixers side by side and ran them. Replacement mixer had speed control issue too. Finally! I switched bowls and this fixed the vibrating bowl. Then I had to pack up second mixer and ship back. What a hassle! Kitchenaid WAS a reliable company. No more. And they've cheaped out on quality. Whirlpool is Kitchenaid. Spend money elsewhere.
KitchenAId Aqualift Self Cleaning Oven
We purchased a KitchenAid Range from Sears 3 years ago. We have some other KitchenAid appliances and have been happy with them. I wish I had asked more questions about the AquaLift Self Cleaning Technology. I have had self cleaning ovens in the past and was always happy with the results of a shiny new looking oven after a cleaning cycle. The AquaLift Technology is really a joke. I have tried multiple times using the AquaLift cycle and have repeated up to 4 times a cleaning and have yet to see not one difference in the condition of my oven. You cannot use chemicals r cleaners in the oven so I am stuck with a dirty dingy oven. I cook quite often and it frustrates me everytime I open the oven and see the lingering mess. Check out the reviews online for AquaLift for yourself and take my advice. Do not buy a range/oven if this is the self cleaning method.
Love appliances
I own only kitchen aid appliances and tools. Will stock my kitchen with kitchen aid appliances as I go along.
I love KitchenAid Stand mixer
I love KitchenAid stand mixer because it is durable, easy to clean and above all, easy to use. So no wonder many people...
Kitchenaid for the way it's made.
Do you remember this old slogan of theirs? I sure do. I remain a huge fan and loyalist. The only car for me is a Volvo... and the only appliance for me is a Kitchenaid. Most of my appliances were made by KM:
Dishwasher, Fridge, Microwave, Washing Machine
I especially love my DW and WM as they are the old-school mechanical types as opposed to electronic... therefore easy to use and easy to repair. My most recent acquisition was the microwave... and it is a sleek stainless steel model that looks and behaves quite stylishly in my kitchen. I strongly recommend that KM keeps a few mechanical type appliances in their line, as not all of us are into the digital and electronic age. Five glorious stars for you, KitchenAid!
Busted Appliance - Beware of the 30 days
Bought a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher from Lowes in May to be installed at a later date; Lowe's had a bundle sale, so why not.
Dishwasher was delivered, left in its original packaging because we did not want to open it due to construction going on around it. Come to find out, the dishwasher was delivered damaged with two dents on the back. Mind you, it was still in the original packaging with the Styrofoam packing still around the corners.
Fast Forward, see the dents on the dishwasher, call to find a solution and all I hear from Kitchen Aid is their 30 day cosmetic return policy. No willingness to help or understand, no care. Doesn't matter if I did not open it when it was delivered to "inspect" it as I was told I should've done by KitchenAid.
I will not buy another device from them and it appears this is not the first time there has been an issue with a dishwasher.
Recommendation: Do not buy. Kitchen Aid doesn't care, no willingness to help find a solution.

Refrigerator
We want a replacement for our defective refrigerator.
Here is the story of our never-ending saga…
We purchased your premium KitchenAid® refrigerator model number #KRMF706ESS; serial number KB3706039 on November 7, 2022. It was delivered to my new home on February 2023.
From the moment it was purchased, we complained about rattling noise. Since it was still under warranty, we placed a service order, and an appointment was made for June 7, 2023. Flamingo Appliance Repair came to inspect the refrigerator and concluded the following:
Inspected unit ran all diagnostics and test 4 could not recreate noise. Runs ot manufacturers specs. Informed and educated customers on the function of unit.
Unsatisfied with the report as the rattling continued, we placed another service order, and an appointment was made for December 22, 2023. Flamingo Appliance Repair came to inspect the refrigerator and concluded the following:
Troubleshoot unit, found all doors were discolored. Advised customer to try using a stainless-steel brightener compound to make doors shine again. Advised cosmetic warranty is only 30 days, and if they wanted to replace doors, they would have to pay for the doors and the labor to install. Also found re evaporator clogged with ice. Will need to order evap cover, fan, and controls and return to install and complete repair.
We were advised to purchase an extended warranty. We did, it expires in 2026.
We were also informed that this service repair would resolved the rattling noise. It did not!
Once again, the rattling noise continues. We placed yet another service order, and an appointment was made for July 10, 2024. Flamingo Appliance Repair came to inspect the refrigerator and concluded the following:
Troubleshoot unit, found unit not making noise at time of inspection. Customers have another video of the unit making loud noise. Customers are disappointed about the continuing noise from unit. The noise can last for 20 minutes or longer. Uploaded video to techline. Spoke with Travis at techline, advised since unit is cooling properly, issue is being treated as noise complaint. Referred customer to customer service for possible resolution. ref#.[protected]
Out of desperation, we reached out to AIG Resolution Specialist / AIG Whirlpool Service Plans on August 13, 2024, and emailed them four separate videos recordings of the rattling noise. They concluded that the refrigerator was working properly per the specifications.
Reflecting on your mission and vision, I wondered how this could be possible?
We purchased this KitchenAid at a cost of over $3,300. not to mention the cost of the additional warranty.
We are extremely disappointed in not only the product BUT the level of service or lack thereof.
As was stated in the beginning of this letter, we are requesting replacement unit equal to the cost of this current defective unit.
The refrigerator continues to make the rattling noise on an even larger scale.

Ceramic cooktop
New ceramic KitchenAid cooktop downdraft 5 eyes, you can't cook on it without scratches appearing, also, some type of foggy substance on the eye that no amount of cleaning can get rid of. I have complained to KitchenAid and they referred me to the owners manual for cleaning. This does not get out scratches or foggy substance. I also, purchased the same one at same time for my father and the same thing happening on his. Many complaints from customers saying the same thing. Also, the cooktop heats very hot even on low. Cook top purchased in April used very little and handled with extreme care. My last cook top was 20 years from Kenmore and zero scratches.
Claimed loss: Don't waste money purchasing KitchenAide cook top lousey customer service no help fixing problem

4 slice toaster KMT423OB
I am loyal to Kitchen Aid products I have always had good experiences with them. Recently I bought this 4 slice toaster. It was more expensive than competing ones but like I said I have always had good experiences with their products. After only a few weeks of using it I started to smell something electrical burning. I figured it was new and just burning off that new smell. About 2 months later I was using it and it made a weird sound and smoke was coming out of it. I immediately unplugged it. I tried to plug it in later and it was dead. I took it back to the store to get a replacement and they said they cannot accept it back because it was used? How else would I know it didnt work? Loved the toaster but this experience was awful. I just want KitchenAid to Stand by their product.
Claimed loss: $149.99
Desired outcome: Honestly I dont want a refund I would honestly just like the toaster replaced. I am going to assume I just got a bad one off the assembly line. The store not taking it back because I used it is ridiculous!

You should reach out to the KitchenAid customer service and explain the circumstances surrounding the toaster. State that you are a customer who has a long history with the organization and that the incident was not overly long ago. Demand a working replacement or a complete refund arguing that it’s a defect. If there is still no resolution, ask to speak to someone else or make a report to an organization that protects the consumer.
Refrigerator: Model # KRFF577KP02
Purch date 7/13/24. Installed by Lowes 7/16/24.
Ten days after installed in my home, the freezer temp was over 40degrees and refrigerator temp was 45degs. The warranty company has been out 3 times. The last technician installed a new Compressor, Dryer/Filter and new "Board".
Eighteen hours after he left, the freezer temp was 45 and the refrigerator was 50. I have called the KitchenAid number [protected] and the Lowes number. They told me I must use the original service company for continuity. Why would I let them try a 4th time? I was able to get KitchenAid to send another service company to come out IN A WEEK. It will be unusable for 50days (when the new tech shows up) for a refrigerator I have had for 60days.
I have been living out of a 4cu.ft. and tossed about $200 in food.
I would like a refund or a new refrigerator. You can then take your time fixing it.

Sounds like KitchenAid has you running a real endurance test on that fridge! Three visits and it's still refusing to do its one job — keep things cold. Living out of a mini-fridge while waiting on a fix is a special kind of test of patience. Hopefully, they either get it right or just let you swap it out already.

I purchased the top of the line Kitchenaid dishwasher in May 2023. I did not begin paying for it until July of 2023 because the company forgot to bill me for it, so I finally called them to tell them about. So, fast forward to July of 2024, and this dishwasher started leaking. I did not know it was leaking until it was too late and it damaged my brand new cabinets as well as my new flooring and the underpayment under the cabinets. I stopped using it and immediately called to get the unit serviced by a plumber. Plumber came and charged me a visit (which was not cheap) And said there was nothing wrong with it. Dishwasher continued to leak so I called an appliance repair company. Repair man came and checked everything out, aligned the front door, and basically said there was nothing wrong with it. Dishwasher has continued to leak so I called Kitchenaid directly because that’s what the repair man said to do. She set up another repair appointment so the third visit will happen in 2 days. I told her that he said there was nothing more he could do, but she said that was not written in his notes, so he will come in 2 days and as I ran the dishwasher today, I visibly watched water leaking out of the bottom left of the door. It filled the bottom of a small Tupperware container so it leaked about 10ml of cloudy water. Kitchenaid needs to own up to mistakes made in this dishwasher and recall the product, either reimbursing those of us who have purchased this dishwasher or replacing it with a better model.
Claimed loss: I am estimating my losses as $1000 for the dishwasher, $500 bottom of new cabinets damaged, and $500 luxury vinyl flooring as well as underlayment damaged by water.
Desired outcome: I would like the dishwasher replaced and my cabinets fixed.

You’ve done everything right — called a plumber, called an appliance repair company, and even reached out directly to KitchenAid. And yet, here you are, still dealing with a leaking dishwasher. It’s clear as day that KitchenAid needs to step up and take responsibility. Watching that water leak out, filling a container, it’s infuriating.
You need to make your voice heard. Share your experience on social media, tag KitchenAid, and demand they recall this defective product or provide a proper replacement. Don’t let them off the hook. You deserve a dishwasher that works, and they need to own up to their mistakes. Stay strong, and keep pushing until they make this right.
Latest Appliance I had to replace
December 17,2021
I'm back with an update to my no-good awful purchase of Kitchen aid appliances for my kitchen remodel. I have come to the conclusion that my pallet of appliances was dropped or they were seconds. They were all installed February 18,2015.
The newest replacement purchase, a refrigerator (it broke first part of December 2021, and purchased new one December 17,2021)
I purchased a stove, (I had to replace), cook-top (I had to replace) dishwasher I paid to have repaired and still have, a refrigerator (broke first part of December, and purchased new one December 17,2021). That leaves the microwave It has not been worked on and is still working.
I guess one out of five is a winner.
May I add, the only one I replaced from Kitchen Aid was the oven. I had picked another brand, however Kitchen Aid actually felt bad and prorated it.
Below is my PREVIOUS review:
November 11,2020
I am expressing my extreme disappointment with three of the five Kitchen Aid appliances I purchased for my kitchen renovation. I purchased a refrigerator, microwave, oven, induction cook-top, and a dishwasher. They were installed February 18,2015.
? June 2016, the oven stopped working. The problem was a quick fix. It was a warranty defect that should have been updated before it left the factory. It was a Fuse Thermal. Technician said discoloration from heat was noted.
? November 2017, the oven glass had chips on the inside and I paid for new glass and the service/labor charge.
? August 2018, the dishwasher light stayed on blinking. Dishwasher would not cycle. The dishwasher was repaired. One part was under warranty. I paid for the other part as well as the service/labor charge.
? December 2018, again the oven glass had chips on the inside.
O There was discussion if I needed another new glass, or an entire new door. I insisted there had to be a major problem with oven needing 3 repairs in 3 years and wanted answers. Kitchen Aid offered me a new oven at a prorated cost. So, I purchased a new oven. That was 2 ovens I paid for, as well as repairs.
? 2019, the induction cook-top was next on the chopping block. The large burner would not turn on and it was blinking a code that needed a service call. By this time, I was done. I used the smaller burners on the cook-top and got out a large portable cooking burner. I did this for a year. I finally called for a repair. I was told the large burner needed to be replaced. If that didn't work, I would need to get new controls. The total cost could be $900 plus.
O I paid the service call, and went to General Electric and purchased a new GE cook-top.
In four years, I bought 2 ovens and 2 cook-tops. UNACCEPTABLE and DISAPPOINTING.

KitchenAid KSM150APSCS mixer
Our mixer recently started making a strange grinding noise and dropping broken bits of metal and filings from the mixer head. It was a wedding gift received in 2018, roughly 6 years old.
Calling KitchenAid customer service was unhelpful. Initially we were told they do not sell that model anymore and it is outside the warranty period (5-years), though their website claims their products should last for generations. We were given a number for their repair center but told it would cost $30.00 for shipping and we would be told a repair cost estimate could be up to $200.00, even though a replacement mixer would be roughly $250.00.
After calling the repair center, we were told they did not even service this model any longer, even though it is only 6 years old.
A follow up call to the customer service line gave no additional help and my wife was simply told there was nothing they could do. When asked if their products really only last a few years, they insisted that most of their products should last upwards of 30 years, but they still couldn't do anything about our broken mixer.
Desired outcome: Equivalent replacement or payment to replace with an equivalent product ($250.00)

Kitchenaid refrigerator
On April 8, 2022 I took delivery of a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator, Model KRFC300ESS07, Serial# KB0611656, from Lowe’s in Westminster, MD. On February 11, 2024 my refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing. Since it wasn’t found until late the next morning, we lost everything inside the refrigerator. Having purchased an extended warranty, the service man arrived two days later on February 13, 2024 and advised my total sealing system needed replaced and they would need to order parts and get approval to repair. I’m totally dissatisfied with this refrigerator and needing major repairs after 16 months in operation.

5 door refrigerator
Bought for $5000 3 years ago. Ice maker doesn’t work. Freezer doesn’t stay cold enough. Evaporating fan doesn’t work. Makes ridiculously loud noises. Display panel says PO. We have unplugged it and plugged it back in several times. Several calls to Kitchenaid. They are totally useless. It would appear as though nothing is covered as we have had the fridge for 3 years. Paying $5000 for a fridge that lasts 3 years is nuts. Now we have to decide if we should start paying a repair man or just give up and buy a new fridge!
Claimed loss: Lost $5000
Desired outcome: Would like KitchenAid to either replace the fridge or pay for the repairs. I don’t think either of those will happen.

Kitchenaid 4 door refrigerator
I purchased a new kitchenaid 4 door refrigerator in January of 2020. We also purchased an entire suite of kitchenaid products from the builder including stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher for our new home. Since I’ve had the refrigerator, I’ve had the freezer go out twice, the ice machine replaced twice, and today the motherboard has gone out. I’ve had a technician to the house a total of 8 times in the past 2 years. There are 3 of us in the home and the refrigerator gets minimal use. This refrigerator has struggled since we received it.
Desired outcome: I would like to have the refrigerator replaced or a credit towards a new unit.

KitchenAid 30" Double Wall oven Model KODE500EBS Serial #DB5017223
Our kitchenAid oven died when we used the self cleaning function in August this year. The control panel bubbled, the oven smoked and then stopped working and the glass door was locked. Based on the age of the oven we opted to replace as it had been repaired twice in the 5 years that we have owned it. The replacement double wall oven that we received has already had to have parts replaced and has not worked correctly since install. We purchased the item directly from kitchenaid online on the 12th of August. The item was delivered and installed on the 16th of August. The panel lit up and showed it was operational when the technician left. However when the oven wasn't cooking correctly in September we tested the internal temp and saw that the oven was off by 90 degrees. We called customer service and they walked us through the calibration of the new unit in October. It still was off by 40 degrees. They called out for a technician to come to the home and service the unit in November. The technician came out on the 21st. Parts had to be ordered to replace the control panel and main sensor. The replacement was supposed to take place on the 13th of December but the technician never arrived. I called to get a status. They stated that the part received was damaged and would need to come at a later date. We would not have bought a replacement if we were aware that the previous oven had a known issue with the self cleaning function. We would have purchased from a different company. The warranty details from the manufacturer are pretty clear that they will not refund. They will only replace under specific conditions. They will drag out the repairs until the 1-year manufacturer warranty runs out and then we are no longer their problem...Unless we buy the extended warranty, which we did...
Claimed loss: $4399.31
Desired outcome: Full refund

Awful awful awful - Kitchenaid Dishwasher KDTM604K
We purchased all Kitchenaid appliances for our new home and are disappointed with the dishwasher, which had to be replaced in less than 2 years with no warranty coverage, and the induction stove top which underperforms. The double oven and refrigerator for now are working as expected.

27" electric convection wall oven with/microwave mod. Koce507ess20
purchased 09/28/2022 with additional warranty by Geek Squad. warranty in effect until 09/27/2025. From the beginning the main oven has never baked evenly across the oven. As a baker and cook of very high quality foods, the oven does not cook evenly. We purchased KAid for a second time expecting good quality results. However, not so. We had the warranty provider out to check to see if there was a problem. He came up with several comments regarding the bakeware he thought could be used. Not so. Next he decided to indicate the we should use only PRE-MADE/PACKAGED bake goods. NOT going to happen. We are basic, high quality ingredients cooks. Family matters first. Having spent 5K and waited a year for this model, we expected more than we received. What happened? We have several KAid major appliances in our kitchen. We moved from Thermodor and Sub-Zero thinking KAid was not a step back in quality. The Geek Squad tech talked to Whrilpool, with case # [protected] issued for further complaint. Well here we are. What can Whirlpool add to the solution, Geek Squad has no answers, information or skills to fix the problem. WHAT CAN YOU DO? This is your product. My husband is an engineer and can react to any FALSE information given by Whrilpool or other service techs. He worked with advanced engineers and manufactures for many years an educated in physics/designs/manufacturing. So what can you do to fix the problem?
Claimed loss: We were limited by cabinet size. We committed our time, money and patience to wait for this model. Loss is not always measured in terms of cash loss. We just want a good working oven that cooks as it should.
Desired outcome: Oven fixed no matter what it takes. Surely this problem has occurred before and Whirlpool has developed a fix. One additional comment, DO NOT sell our name, address and telephone number to some merchandise firm.
KRMF706ESS01 Kitchenaid refrigerator
We purchased a Kitchenaid 5 door stainless steel refrigerator model#krmf706ess and paid almost $4000.00 in June of 2017. The ice maker and water dispenser has never worked properly and has always leaked water. Then after only 5 years ice started accumulating over the back of the fridge and the fridge stopped cooking. We called a repair man and he replaced the parts per a repair that was in his computer because this has been a problem with other refrigerators. Replaced evaporator fan and some other parts. He said fan stops working then ice builds up which stops fridge from cooling properly. Then the drawers on the front of fridge stopped working. Then after 6 months of being fixed ice started building up on back of fridge again and we started having the exact same problem all over again. Repair man came out and said he would have to replace the same parts again and suggested we just get a new fridge because these fridges are basically money pits. This should not being happened and a 7 year old fridge that was $4000.00! I have read that this is a problem with these fridges.
Claimed loss: $4400.00 including repairs.
Desired outcome: $4400.00

French door refrigerator krmf706ess05
sN kc3502547 We bought our first ref in August of 2020 from P.C. Richards we had problems from the day it was delivered with the freezer drawers breaking, the water/ ice dispenser/ control panel not working and the temperature controlled draw shorting out due to water leaking. This init had a made in America sticker on it when we bought it. We had about 12 service calls on this unit and the store finally decided to replace it around the end of August 2023. My wife decided that she wanted the same unit so we ordered one and bought another extended warranty from the store The unit was delivered whiten a week.
In order for the unit to get into my kitchen the doors have to be removed. It took the Drivers 2 1/2 hours to put the thing into my kitchen and the doors are not hung plumb. the left door doesn't close properly. the gap at the top of the door is approx 8mm at the bottom about 20mm. I called the store waited a week and half for service. The Tech came tried to align the doors decided he needed parts and left. I went back to the store and threw there service department they sent me another unit. that unit was brought here for delivery last week I told the drive I want to inspect the unit before they bring it into my home.
They opened the unit on the street and the top cornor of the gasket was split and the inside of the unit was skuffed up I refused delivery and sent it back.
latter that afternoon we went to several big box stores to check out machines and I noticed that every unit I saw of this model has the same problem with the doors. YOU HAVE A MANUFACTURING/ASSEMBLY DEFECT. I have Photos available if you want them t
let me know
Desired outcome: We bought a Samsung for about $600 less than what we paid for the kitchen aid i didnt get a refund or credit so now Iam really annoyed.
