KeyBank review: Very disappointed with Key Bank

The promotional ad claims in a large font: "$500 just for you" if you open a new account and deposit $5000 in 90 days.

But the fine print requires a "direct deposit" to open this account. They would not accept a check for $5000. Instead, they wanted me to have my monthly Social Security check diverted to them. I explained that with the government shut down this would not be possible. I offered to have the $5000 directly deposited from another bank account, but that was unacceptable.

While not fraudulent, their ad is deceptive and my experience is consistent with many others who have given Key Bank poor reviews for their customer service.
