Beware Sears expensive HE top loading washer, over $800. Within the first year, error code UL showed up and the washload woudn't finish about 12 minutes before the end of cycle. That code means out of balance. Sears recalled the control boards and mine was replaced just before the warranty expired. About a year and a half later, my wash won't finish again. Same code, UL. I checked the suspension rods and springs. They're fine. I get the same code even without clothes in the machine, so it's the same problem. Now Sears says my serial number isn't included in the recall. The redesigned control board didn't fix the problem permanently, just long enough to make sure the next control board expense would come out of my pocket.
Even without a repairman, the board alone costs $173.88 plus shipping. I won't be buying it. I can buy a used top loader for less that gets the clothes clean. This washer never did clean well. It tangles clothes and sometimes even wads up small items inside a larger one. Besides that, the buttons became harder and harder to change settings until most of the time, I can't add a soak cycle or change wash temperatures or spin speeds. The electronics on this board are terrible. If I stop even a few people from making the same mistake, Sears will lose more money than they'd have spent by using better parts and fixing my washer. I hope I stop many from buying Sears anything. Their extended warranties are more expensive than anywhere else, and their repair wait times longer. I speak from previous experience with a fancy tall tub dishwasher that burned out 3 motors and the latch went bed, just far enough apart in time that they wouldn't replace it as a lemon.

Horrible washer Sears Oasis. It has been nothing but a source of frustration from the first year. Wont finish washing, UL comes up, we try to rebalance the contents, 90% of the time it culminates in another UL code. We end up trying to wring out the clothes and drying them soaking wet. Just last week my light weight quilt came out ripped with the stuffing coming out, and my husbands expensive cabella thermals were twisted and ripped. I am tired of paying Sears to "fix" my washer. If Sears does not make good on this issue, I cannot spend another penny in a Sears store, which makes me sad since my I grew up going to Sears with my parents.

We also purchased from Sears a Kenmore Oasis HE Topload Washer a year and half ago. Loved it until about two weeks ago I started getting an F1 code and the only solution according to the manual is to call service. That in itself is a chore. Made my appointment and waited all day for the guy to come and I guess they overloaded his schedule because I just talked to him on the phone. He was nice to tell me that the part itself would be 300.00 and to have it installed it would be a total of 600.00. I only paid 800.00 for the washer. This ridiculous. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this brand of washer, especially when Sears no longer stands behind their products.

Oh gosh... I've been a lifelong Sears/Kenmore customer and I am just at the end of my rope. I have a Kenmore Oasis HE washer, bought it for around $800 along with a matching dryer. A while ago during a Google search on why my washer keeps stopping at around the 12-minute mark with a 'uL' prompt... My husband and I have tried everything from checking/cleaning the suspension rods, experimenting with various kinds of loads... to no avail. I called Sears and found out that our washer was covered under a recall. Sears guy came and replaced the motherboard (I'm not sure what else he did because I didn't watch him)... the washer was fine until about a month ago when that irritating 'uL' prompt kept coming back... meaning whatever Sears did to 'fix' the problem DID NOT WORK! Arrgghhhh...

I bought a Sears Elite Oasis top of the line model 110.[protected] about 7 years ago ant took out the extended warranty. The electronic board has been replaced 2 times had several other calls to repair other problems. When it came time to renew my extended warranty I refused and said if the appliance is as bad as this I would never buy another Sears anything. Now having problems again with the UL code. I really think I will go back to Maytag!

This is by far the largest waste of money and the greatest source of frustration of any product I have owned. I was raised on Kenmore, but I will no longer purchase any product with the Sears name. I hate to go foreign but this washer is pure junk. Sear just hung up on my wife when she mentioned her frustration on their recall line.

I service appliances and from experience, any top loader without an agitator is a design flaw. The balance system needs to be redesign and the electronics need to be protected from vibration. Go with the front load if you need capacity or a traditional top load for durability.

DITTO to all the problem above... I payed about 900.00+ for this wonderful machine and kept a "warrantly" for three years and got very tried of paying for a machine that DIDN'T WORK! In that three years I have used this machine 20 times if that. It still sits upstairs after one panel board, and approximately 5 services calls and hasn't worked in... 2 plus years. I also phoned and talked to the customer service people over and over and stated "its a LEMON" and nothing! The reason it hasn't been thrown out the window up stairs yet is because I live downstair and don't go up there. Please help someone with the class action suit!

I could have written this exact letter about my washing machine. I am having the exact same issues. The service reapair came over today to tell me that it's the suspension rods. She put in the new board and said that wasn't the problem so she put my old board back in and said it will be $230.00 to repair it with new suspension rods. She claims that will fix my UL prpblem. What's funny is that since she took out and put back in my electronic baord, I can now use the buttons with more ease, they aren't sticking as much. The spin cycle is still malfunctioning and if I get the rods replaced and it turns out to be the baord or something else, then I'm out so much money. I am so fed up with Sears!

I hate this washing machine...mine has been nothing but issues from 6 months out after my purchase! Nothing is worse than not being able to use your brand new washing machine. I will never shop sears again! We have spent several hundred dollars trying to fix a machine that is always broken. TRUE LEMON!
