rude employee
The girl who took my order was extremley rude. I never really complain about bad service, but this girl was horrible. First she told me they could not deliver to my house (even though we order from them all the time), but she said it in a very rude way. Then she sighed and said "WELL WE WILL DO IT BUT ITS A BIG HASSLE FOR US, JUST SO YOU KNOW". Then, after explaining my order, (which included some special requests to sandwiches), she made a comment under her breath "oh my god, anything else". I was shocked. I know you dont treat your paying customers that way. I love the food, and I hate to ruin it with such a rude employee
disrespectful service
I am one of the only female drivers working at this store and I am being discriminated against by my employer. My hours have been cut down from 20 hours a week to 7 hours a week to facilitate male preference in scheduling drivers. I have been asking for more hours as a driver for months. My boss responded by hiring new drivers, men, and giving them almost 40 hours a week and in the same breath tells me there are not a lot of hours to go around. Many male drivers are scheduled 40 hours a week. My hours were given to a male driver who was once a shift leader so that he is scheduled 40 hours or more a week and my hours were also given to newly hired male drivers who are also scheduled for almost 40 hours a week. This is sexist discrimination. I have worked at MLK Jimmy Johns since 3/2009 as a driver. I have never received a raise. I have never been given any breaks that are required by law. I have never been reprimanded or written up. I am a good employee, I just am not male...that appears to be the problem. Why is my boss, Clay, a man, not taking hours from other male driver employees, even those who have worked there for less than 1 year and work almost 40 hours a week as drivers? Why is he not giving male hours to male drivers so they can all work 40 hours a week and I can work 7 hours a week and be sent home early? This is discrimination and I am very hurt! I put up with a lot of lude sexist comments as it is. I am 32 years old. I deserve some respect!
This place was great when it 1st opened...I don't like paying $ 5.95 for a load of veggies. I order a number 11, and received one slice of turkey...I guess its time to go back to subway! rs 11/4/10
I was so disgusted the other day when I went to Jimmy John's - I don't think that I will ever go back. I went in to order three subs at SW 107 the Avenue by International Mall in Miami, Fl. Everything was a problem: First of all if you ask for something different they act as if you were crazy. I can't help it I prefer mustard on my roast beef instead of mayo. I proceeded to order a pickle and ask them to cut it so that I could put it on my sandwich. They are ONLY allowed to cut it in spears (four slices) well how can you put a spear on your sandwich? I requested it to be cut in slices or that they give me a knife. Well I was told they cannot do that and they have no knives. Then I asked for salt and they have no salt. I went next door to Fuddruckers and got salt and a plastic knife. Next time I will take my business to Fuddruckers!
Oh honey, go to corporate with this. It very well may be a form of discrimination. Try talking to your boss in a nice way and letting him know you feel discriminated against. If that does not work, take further action, or get a better job!
rude employee
When we entered the building the staff seemed generally upset that we were walking in to bother them to have to make us a sandwich. I went with a friend who also realized the awkwardness when we arrived. We quickly ordered and paid, but seeing as I paid in one dollar bills and change seemed to make the one who took our order even more irate. I also came to...

I also wrote Jimmy John's corporate. Doubt that they will do anything to this woman. I guess I am really upset at how she called that poor girl that was cashiering stupid and I forgot to mention she did so four times. Four times and that poor girl still work there. Aren't we as female managers, leaders and being adults suppose to teach and uplift? Not disparage and belittle. Each time I go in there and Shannon is working, which is always, hmmm clue in on that, she is rude and mean to her employees.
I've been in the Palatine, IL location (Euclid & Clinton) a few times and I have to say that the food is fine but the Manager Shannon is a real WITCH. She not only called the cashier stupid with customers in line, then on another day she yelled at another employee using vile swear words... Get off my #@$*ing table, what the #@$* are you doing, get this #@$*ing crap cleaned up. This happened on more than one occasion. I know that other people in line were as appalled as I was. Please fix this piece of work you call a manager or get rid of her, I actually would like to see the latter done. Obviously this isn't the first time she has been rude and now just plain vile. Is this really how Jimmy Johns does business and what they want to promote as a company? She really is a piece of work.
I'll have to agree with the other reviewer here. I had literally just ate there about an hour ago for the first time. I walked in and stood a little ways away from the counter, so they would be aware I wasn't ready to order and so people could easily walk by me when they were ready to order. So there I was, trying to decide what to order and lo and behold I look towards at the employees behind the counter and they're all staring at me the MOST perturbed and impatient look on their faces. Then, the guy taking orders has the tenacity to lean over to one of the sandwich makers and whisper something to her as they're chuckling and pointing at me. He does it again with another sandwich maker and some other employees behind him make asinine grins in relation to his whisperings. He then looks directly back at me and raises his eyebrows and hands in a "what are you standing there for?" kind of expression. I'm assuming they thought I was taking up too much time after standing there for LITERALLY around 5 seconds. There was nobody behind me and there were probably around 10 people already eating their food. I eventually (and reluctantly) order my sandwich, and it was about as good as Sub-Way's sandwiches. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. On a less significant note, the acoustics within the restaurant are terrible. It amplifies the music and all of the people's conversations. You have to yell a little just to hear the other person across across the table. A bad experience.
I feel your pain, that's absolute ### and I personally apologize for your underwhelming experience, let me know when and where this happened at http://www.jimmyjohns.com/common/comments.aspx, I'm all over it! Jimmy John
