On Tues, July 14, 2026, I arrived at PBI at 5:00 am to learn that my flight had been rescheduled to the next day. This was due to a delay causing me to miss my connection to Portland Maine at 11:00 am that morning. I was shocked to learn that JetBlue would cancel my flight plans to the next day, rather than just informing me of the issue. I wanted to fly to Boston instead but I was told that there was no room on that flight. I finally went to JFK and eventually to Boston. But I lost my rental car deposit at Portland and had to rebook another car from Boston instead. Then the return flight from Portland to JFK was delayed over 3 hours, as was my connecting flight back to PBI. Instead of arriving at PBI at 10:15 pm, we got in at 2:18 in the morning! Needless to say, these delays on both ends really ruined my vacation! To make matters worse, we were told the 4 hour delay was due to a lack of a flight attendant. Really? What does an airport do when someone calls in sick the same day? Make passengers wait hours on end to find another one? Are there no back up plans for this?!
Claimed loss: Hours of stress and $469 lost in car rental costs.
