November 2022 I was cooking on the stove in the kitchen when what I was cooking exploded and the stove blew up throwing glass everywhere. I contacted my rental insurance. They said this wasn’t some thing that they cover this falls back on the homeowner insurance. I then contacted Invatation Homes advise them of what happened and they sent some people out to look at it to determine what needed to be done. Next thing I know there were people in the house replacing the stove they then sent somebody out to paint the countertop and called it good before I knew it I had a charge of $500 on my rent bill. Nobody from the company has bothered to send us any invoices or tell us that we were responsible for any amount of the damage that the stove caused when it exploded. due to the glass flying from the explosion landed on the counter and put some little burn marks in it. Now I’m being billed $500 I’ve never seen an invoice. I’ve never received an email or any communication like they say they did I’ve contacted them on multiple occasions they remove the $500 then before I know it it’s back on the rent bill when I called and asked to speak to a manager all I get is an email stating that I’m responsible now for this $500 and I can set up a payment arrangement the management won’t even give you a call back to discuss anything with you. I am seeking legal advice but I don’t recommend Invatation Homes over the last four years. They’ve increased my rent by almost $500 and pricing us right out of the house, we can’t even afford to live here. I am a single mother of three and my income has not gone up by $500 a month over the last four years. Even through Covid. I managed to make my payments and have struggled to stay in this house. I can’t tell you how relieved I am to be leaving and saying goodbye to this company. A year ago there was a leak in the pool complained about it for a few months before they finally sent somebody out to search for the leak and determine if there was one I never paid a dime for that so tell me why I’m responsible for when their stove explodes while I’m cooking on it, thank God I wasn’t in the room when it did I happen to step out into the dining room to feed my grandson when it exploded.

Desired outcome: I think Invatation Homes needs to take care of that $500 themselves.
