Hyatt - Incorrect charges

On January 6, 2024, my husband and I arrived at the Hyatt Place at 709 Eden Way N. Chesapeake, VA, approximately 4pm. On January 7, 2024, at 8:50 am, my husband and I asked the attendant for the location of the nearest Waffle House. I also asked the front desk clerk about a later check out time past 12pm. I specifically asked, "Is there an extra charge for...

Hyatt Charge twice for a 1 night/room stay

Booked 1 room for 9/23/23 to 9/24/202Front Desk (Tony) mentioned about this He said to call back on Sunday to speck with the AGM. After I check out Thomas Sunday, he now said to call on Monday morning. I received a survey and Kristin responded no help. Spoke to Javonne he said the hotel is franchised own and not responsible. Attitude was horrible and Kristin has yet to speak with. I was charged 410 and 418 for each room. Hyatt especially this location has left me a sour taste in my mouth. No, I will never recommend anyone to this location. Hilton and Marriott will be my place to stay.

As soon as my points are gone, I will stay with Hilton Mariott from now on.

Desired outcome: Refund

Hyatt Didn't get what I paid for.

I reserved a room for my birthday on July 20th thru July 24th in San Francisco Hyatt 3 Embarcadero center. I paid over $1500 for a city view and I didn't get that. When I called front desk to let them know the lady was very rude didn't let me explain anything. It was the worst experience I received. I had to stay in the room they gave me. I also called to get my room cleaned and get clean towels, I never hot that also. I am very upset. Worst birthday ever. Thank you Hyatt

Hyatt Park Hyatt DC charged for a night I didn’t stay

Hotel confirmation - [protected]. Park Hyatt Washington DC
Booking No [protected]
Room 724
Arrival 5-11-23
Departure 5-14-23
Checked out a day before my scheduled departure date and was charged for the night anyways.

During my stay at the Park Hyatt in Washington DC I encountered several problems there. On Saturday night around 9pm I called room service to see if they could make something simple like a club sandwich that they didn’t have on the menu. The front desk told me they will ask the kitchen and call me right back, they never did.

I called again after 40 minutes and was told they couldn’t do it. I told them that I was extremely upset that they never got back to me and informed them that I will be checking out the next morning.

On Sunday 5-14 around 10:00am spoke to Luca at the front desk and explained what happened and that I will be checking out that day around 3pm since I have a 4:00pm check out with the reservation done by AE Platinum under Fine Hotels and Resorts.

After I checked out I noticed that they had charged my CC for the Sunday night that I was not staying and that the front desk staff never informed me that I would be charged.

Luca gave me the reason that AE Fine Resorts is the one that has this policy when you book with them.

I told him I felt robbed by a high end brand like Park Hyatt and he told me he couldn’t do anything. He told me they credited me for the room service the night before and I thanked him, but also told him, he didn’t need to do that, I was not asking for anything I was not due.

When I arrived at my new hotel a few minutes later I called AE and they contacted the hotel. I was told by the representative from AE that they don’t have that policy and that she has never heard of a hotel charging you for a night you didn’t stay if you were not happy there. She also told me that after speaking to the manager on duty at the hotel, they are the ones that wanted to charge me for that night. She said I shouldn’t have paid them. She also told me to dispute the charges when they are finalized on my card.

Not only did the front desk manager Luca mislead me when I spoke to him on Sunday morning in person by not informing me that he was going to charge me for the remaining night. But also upon check out he didn’t tell me that I was being charged for the night. I didn’t realize I had been charged until he gave me the bill with all the charges.

I have been staying at hotels more than 70 days a year for the last 40 years of my life. I live at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, Grand Bay Residences for the last 21 years. I also own a unit in the hotel. I know the hotel business better than most people and have many friends that are general managers in most hotels like Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Aman Resorts.

I have never had this problem in my whole life. I never expected a brand like Park Hyatt to nickel and dime guest like this. By the way I had two rooms at the hotel during this time one for my mother in law for two nights and one for my wife and me. We also had my sister-in-law staying here during this weekend because I recommended the hotel. She had 4 rooms in total, and they were all in DC for my daughters graduation from American University.

I feel that I have been robbed by the hotel. For years I stayed at the Park Hyatt in Los Angeles that is now an Intercontinental in Century City. Every time I visited Australia, I have stayed at the Park Hyatt Sidney that was fantastic.

PS: I was also charged for an overnight parking fee at the hotel and my daughter who lives in DC and came to see us for three hours. That’s a bad thing when you trust the hotel and don’t check the bill before being charged.

Sincerely

Raul De Molina

Hyatt Time share / vacation club

The hyatt vacation club is the worst. They get you excited and play on the fact that you trust what you are being told. They tell you how great of an investment it is (Not true), and tell you that you can resell this time share (No market exists for points based time shares). They keep you there for a long period of time as if your negotiating and advise how you can save your points for future use (you cant save more than 50% of the points from that year and can only roll over once), not as it was told at the sale meeting.

I was advised I could save my point for up to four years, (Not an option), and then after the long period of time at the sales meeting, most people (to include myself), don't feel it is necessary to review the contract in its entirety. At least not until its too late.

If I had actually read the contract, I would have realized everything they told me was a lie. Trying to book a week is also nearly impossible as a majority of their locations require points in far excess of the points they sell you, making it nearly impossible to use their services.

As for trying to get out of this club, it is impossible without damaging your credit. They fully lock you in and the maintenance fees are ridiculous.

It should be mandates they go section by section on contracts.

Desired outcome: I would like to get out of this time share. It has already costed to much.

Hyatt The Stovehouse, Suncadia, Cle Elum, WA

On Sunday, March 26, 2023 my wife and I took our daughter out for her birthday dinner at the The Stovehouse Restaurant in Cle Elum. My wife passed her business card to an employee and within minutes, the manager, Tony Maglietti called my wife screaming and cursing her out with every 4 letter word known in the english language. Gordon Ramsay couldnt compete with barrage of screaming my endured.

My wife, hung up and he immediately called back and this time, I answered the phone. I told him, he not so nice terms he has business talking to anyone that way especially my wife. I was threatened, that he was to break me and destroy my reputation because I don't know who I am [censored]ing with. His family has been around forever and they'll take us out. I told him he's a flunky, until he signs the checks he'll always be a flunky.

After the phone call, I called the police and opened an investigation and was instructed to get a restraining order against Tony Maglietti. We are in the process of doing so as the wheels of justice move slowly.

Desired outcome: He is a loose cannon and has no business working with the public. He needs to be removed before someone files a lawsuit.

Hyatt Stay at Hyatt Deira Dubai

We booked a regular room in your hotel at Hyatt Regency in Deira in Dubai from 21st January 2023 for 7 nights to sleep 3 adults. When we were checking in, the front desk was extremely busy and there were only 2 staff at the desk. There was chaos and we had just arrived from a long flight and were tired and exhausted. I requested to check-in but the staff (Ajaymain) told me that the room we booked was too small for 3 people and insisted we book a bigger suite. I asked if we could have a look at the original room we had booked but was told that we cannot because of covid rules? She said that once a guest enters the room they have to take it.

However on 25th we were shown a clean regular room which was good enough for our requirements. So I made a complaint and told the manager that I was mis-sold a product and wanted full refund but was refused. Initially I was offered a very insignificant discount which was later increased but I asked for full refund but was refused.
(Later on we met Ibrahim (manager) who told me that we were not shown the original room because there were no rooms free?) I believe I was misold a product which was not required. I believe I am entitled to a full refund and an apology for spoiling my 65th birthday holiday. I believe the staff were dishonest and took advantage.

Desired outcome: We would like a full refund.

Hyatt Service from a phone conversation

On Jan. 18th, around 4 pm I called the Hyatt,Place, Dublin/Pleasanton, California.

I need to send my husband a package and I wanted to make sure I had the info I needed to get the package to him. He is staying at this location for 2 weeks. I first talked with an Asian woman. After a few minutes she told me to calm down so she could understand me. There was no need for her to say that since I had been polite to her. We seemed we were on different pages. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn't one on duty. I finally did get to speak with someone else. All I wanted was the correct address and what I needed to do to make sure my husband gets his package. I asked for the correct address and was told to look it up on their website. Two different people and I had two bad experiences, just to get address and what I needed to do.

Desired outcome: I looked up the address myself.

Hyatt Overall management

Something has changed with providing the exceptional customer service I have been accustomed. I have been to your Hyatt Regency in Sarasota many times and I noticed Hugh differences in this last stay.

The front desk personnel are not Hyatt customer service friendly. Don't know if management has changed, but if so bring back the old management. I used to love staying there because you were treated great, with greeting, and always accommodating any needs.

I also noticed a big difference in the rooms, they are not as clean as before and my Room 621 had black mold in corner of shower and tub area. I don't know if it's because of staff shortages or management but something has changed, and I will be considering a different hotel to stay when visiting Sarasota, FL.

Desired outcome: Bring back the Hyatt Customer Service

Hyatt Event planning at Driskill Hotel Austin, TX

17 Nov 22

Dr. Norman M and Paula A Brown

Hyatt membership number 5321988108B

My computer does not keep emails past 1 month; also. the email for an e-signature no longer contains a copy of the contract.

16 Sept 22

Paula called the Driskill Hotel in Austin, TX and spoke with Lily Alpern to check availability/details for a Wedding Bridal Luncheon to be held on 14 Jan 2023 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. After a ten-minute wait on hold while Lily went to speak with her superior; Lily agreed to be our Event Planner. At the close of our conversation, it was agreed that the deposit would be $500.00 and that she would email information and a contract. This is the same deposit we paid for a similar prior Bridal Luncheon: which we were very pleased with the way the Driskill staff carried out the entire event process.

26 Sept 22

On this date, we had not received any email/information.

Therefore, Paula called and spoke again with Lily. Lily acknowledged that she had not yet sent any emails and that the deposit would be $500.00. Lily assured Paula that she would send the information.

4 Oct 22

Paula still had not received any information from the Driskill Hotel. Paula again spoke with Lily. Paula asked about the details for the buffet, room organization, seating, linens, final payment, etc. Lily put Paula on hold (for 10+ minutes) while she spoke with her supervisor. Lily explained the room arrangements and that Paula could look up the menu on line. That $1500.00 was the event cost plus any added food cost on the day of the event. With the deposit of $500.00 to be paid immediately and the remaining $1000.00 to be paid by 30 Dec 22 for the 14 Jan 23 event.

5 Oct 22

We had received the contract which contained values different from those agreed upon during our phone conversations. The contract said we were to pay $1500.00 OR we could make a deposit of $750.00. After a brief discussion, (Lily again put Paula on hold for 15 to 20 minutes while she spoke with her supervisor). Then, Lily mentioned that the deposit was $750.00 but that she would accept $500. Paula and I decided to just pay the $750.00.10 Oct 22

We received an email from Lily with the planning timeline for the Wyles Bridesmaid Luncheon. By now the contract was e-signed and the $750.00 deposit made.

7 Nov 22

Paula called to cancel the event because the wedding had been canceled. Lily said that she would send an email explaining the refund policy. She did not mention that a letter was required before the cancellation was finalized.

Then, we received an email stating that there would be no refund and that we still owed $650.

8 Nov 22

Paula called and spoke with Lily about the refund policy. Lily had to speak with her supervisor, so she put Paula on hold for at least another 20 minutes. Upon her return, Lily said that prior to 16 Nov 22 the required sum was to be 70% of the contracted amount; after day, it was to be 80%. [70% of $1500 is $1050.00. Lily was asking for $750.00 + $650.00 which is $1500.00. Obviously, the two sum do not agree. $1500.00 is 70% of $2143.00. No way did we agree to a luncheon of $2143.00.

Paula repeatedly asked for an explanation. Lily just responded that “You have signed the contract; Refer to it.”

8 Nov 22

Paula call and spoke with Lily about the refund. Lily said that we still owed the $650.00 and that we had signed the contract. Paula asked to speak with her supervisor and Lily said Paula could only speak with her. Paula insisted and finally Lily gave us Ashley Sanielette’s name but that Paula could not speak with her. Paula called Pat Howard, Operation Manager, and he would tend to this because if the Corporate Headquarters was called, they would just send it back to him. Pat then passed Paula to Ashley. Ashley did call back and repeated Lily’s statements. Ashley’s compensation was to allow us to make 2 $325.00 payments over a 2-month period. When finished, Paula said “OK. I guess our conversation is over?” And Ashley said “Yes”.

Paula called the Hyatt Consumer Complaint Department who stated that we could file a complaint online. Therefore, this submission.

Resolution

We feel that the 70% of $1500.00 should be supported. That would be $1050.00. We have paid $750.00 deposit and $325.00 and $325.00 = $1500.00. Our refund should be $1500.00 – $1050 = $450.00. We would appreciate and return of $450.00.

Thank you

Norman M Brown, PhD

Desired outcome: We feel that the 70% of $1500.00 should be supported. That would be $1050.00. We have paid $750.00 deposit and $325.00 and $325.00 = $1500.00. Our refund should be $1500.00 – $1050 = $450.00. We would appreciate and return of $450.00.

Hyatt Hotel charges

I have had the most horrible experience with this hotel. We decided to stay here for our 23rd wedding anniversary and it has been the absolute worst experience from beginning to end. We chevj in on 10/12 and checked out on 10/15 Starting with the first two days sweating , the A/C did not work. Not to mention the toilet running for 20+ plus minutes after each use which was not fixed the entire stay. Then getting home thinking you're escaping from this horrible experience and they charge the wrong card At checkin I provided my credit card which I want it charged for entire stay and another credit card for incidentals with instructions that the card for the hotel stay is the primary card so there was an authorization for the entire state on my card. At check out, they charged the wrong card. I immediately call the hotel and spoke to a manager who sent me a credit card authorization which I signed in and sent back. I got a confirmation email that the hotel had signed the authorization as well so there goes a second authorization on my card .

Desired outcome: Total refund

Hyatt Billing abuse - charge made with no explanation and not refunded yet (almost 2 weeks waiting)

This is a formal communication to denounce an abuse by the Hyatt Centric Guatemala. This would already be the second complaint, the other is documented in the survey of the company and was attended by Mr. Walter Contreras. In this first formal complaint, the hotel, without my permission, moved me from my room and held my underwear hostage for two days because in theory they did not have a credit card of mine in their records.

Now on to the most recent complaint. Miraculously, the credit card on which they could not charge the 7 dollars for the laundry, now shows up with a charge for 448.39Euros that no one at the hotel has been able to give me an explanation as to what the charge was for.

For this reason, on September 19, when we noticed this charge, which we obviously did not expect since they themselves said that there was no card linked to my account, we sent a request for reimbursement, I also had to call the hotel and insist to at least receive an acknowledgement from my communication.

On September 20, I wrote again to understand the status of my complaint, they answered back asking me for the information that I had already given from the beginning so it has taken 24 hours to start processing the refund. According to what they answered that same day they were going to request the refund.

September 26th. Without any update from the hotel and as the charge had not yet been reversed, I contacted the hotel again. The response from Ms. Alisson Romero is: "unfortunately this takes a few days or even weeks". In short, the problem is mine. The hotel makes mistakes and the one who has to bear the consequences is the guest and in the words of this lady, I regretfully have to accept it. You can tell it's not her money.

That same day, given the absolute lack of ability to resolve the issue, I sent another claim and now, almost a week later, Mr. Contreras answers me. He sends me the evidence of the refund request which clearly states that it was made on September 21st by Mrs. Pilar Hernandez Martinez, that is to say, they took 48 hours to make the refund request, and today, September 30th, the refund has not been made, which is why I was forced to pay the debt on my credit card, so officially the Hyatt Centric Guatemala has stolen this money from me until further notice. Regardless, it is money that has already affected my cash flow since any refund will only give me a balance on my credit card. They have wholeheartedly demonstrated that they care very little about the welfare of their guests. Without a doubt, in my life I do not want to return to this hotel in Guatemala, we will see how corporate responds to understand if it is a network wide problem or just a local one. I demand my money back today!

Desired outcome: I want my money back.
