Home Depot Window installation

In August of 2022 I contracted Home Depot to replace some 17 windows in my home. The original estimated date of installation was before Thanksgiving, however, due to manufacturing delay the windows, the installation was postponed to December 20th but that also was rescheduled to for Mid-January. It took the installer team 2 day to start work but when they started, they installed 14 windows within 2 days. One of the windows which was a 4' by 10' was not installed because they needed to do extra work on fitting the window and they left the window in my living room and left. Two other windows for one of the rooms were wrong size, therefore, they had to reorder those windows. We were left with a huge window sitting in our living room. Finally, after numerous complaints, they eventually agreed to come back early March, and install the big window and free up the space in our living room. Following that we patiently waited for the job to be completed. I never understood why the wrong windows were ordered in the first place, that definitely was Home Depot's fault. Finally, they scheduled installation for April 26th between 1 and 4 PM. The installer never showed up., around 5 PM I got a call from the installers, and they said they would come first thing in the morning on 27th. Around 10:30 AM they showed up and inspected the job site and said they did not have all the necessary equipment, they left the windows in our living room and left to come back next the day. They did not show up on 27th or 28th and when I called Home Depot installation after several try finally, I was told that the installers won't come back until May 3rd. Since January we have not been able to remove the stickers from the windows until after inspection, and as a result we have not been able to put up any window coverings. This was not what I expected from Home Depot, I would never recommend them for any big installation jobs. They are disorganized and seem not to care about their customers.

Home Depot LG refrigerator

Purchased lg refrigerator in 2022….. left door would slam shut hard from the start. Approximately 6 months later, ice maker wasn’t working. Lg came and replaced entire ice maker in about 5 min. Technician wouldn’t address the door because it fell under ‘installation”. He also blew by me that I needed a pump for more pressure to ice maker. What?. Never ever have I heard of such a thing, but managed to find and install. 6 months later, ice maker out again. This time lg informed me that I was 10 days out of warranty. What? They gave me local repair businesses.

The biggest and number one issue that I have with Home Depot and others is the “buyer protection plans”.. why am I having to pay even more to be certain my purchase will still work 3-5 years from now! Where is the integrity of producing a product that actually works for more than a year. This, “make junk that breaks and sell for a lot of money and put the responsibility on the customer” way of doing business has got to go. It’s predatory at best. I have purchased so many things since the 90’s with each year and especially in the last decade, reliability is not part of plan.

Make something bright and shiney that will fail within 5 years so they have to buy another. Not cool.

It seems that since more things have been manufactured elsewhere, it simply is junk. I have now purchased 3 cement mixers, because they don’t last for more than a few jobs. I feel they are capitalizing on homeowners and relying on them to use only once or twice. The last one I bought was all screwed together by me. I don’t have high hopes for it. Some of the stuff is barely better than harbor freight and the prices are outrageous. Don’t even get me started on wheelbarrows. Good lord! The tires alone are a joke. I’ve never had so many flats or lost screws or squeaky wheels. I compare all the above to items I own that are old. I have a refrigerator from the 70s still working like a charm. A cement mixer from the 60’s left outside for decades that started right up and still works. (my dads) other wheelbarrows from the 70s working beautifully with no screws missing and the proper wheel size. (Again, my dads)

People work hard for their money and I simply find it unacceptable that so many of your products are lacking integrity. And these short timed warranties, good lord! Sell decent products and stand behind them. I will be looking elsewhere for appliances.

Desired outcome: I would be happy with having a repairman come out to thoroughly check and fix refrigerator and split cost of repair. As far as the other pieces of equipment, stop selling the junk.

Home Depot Store card

I am unable to use checks to pay (suddenly) for my Store Card balance. Additionally I noted the store card balance went from 8,900 to 9,196. Over the 149 dollars for my minimum monthly payment. No explainations why.

I am supposed to have NO INTEREST on the card for 2 years to pay off the Kitchen Remodel which is the charge on the card - that does NOT seem to be happening. I cannot use my 'online payment account' as there is some issue which no one at Citi OR Home Depot can help with. Lastly, when I asked why ALL OF A SUDDEN my checks are not being allowed to be used (rejected etc) I have NO answers. Well, this is troubling. Is there an identity theft? Did a bounce a check? (Not that I know of). So why the rejection? Citi can't help me, Home Depot is useless. I will be filing a complaint with BBB and Feds as I should have at the minimum been able to find out WHY I was being denied payment by check! If indeed there is an error of some kind it needs to be rectified and the person if identity theft has occurred needs to KNOW. But Home Depot 'has no clue'. I will be cancelling my store card after paying in full and never ever darken HDs doors again. Nor do business with Citi Bank.

Desired outcome: Please send me information on specifically WHY I was DENIED the ability to pay by check (when I could before). Also send me back statements (since I can't get on line to print these myself) for the last 6 months for the card.

Home Depot The value wheel with front line associates

I am an associate and disagree with the policy regarding bereavement pay. There were several mangers that advocated for my situation for pay. Bereavement pay is for immediate family etc. I experienced a family tragedy that was 2500 miles away with the one of two father figures I have ever known as I did not have a father in my life (my uncle), Buzzy Barton Lynn, Massachusetts was one of them. Examine his obituary as he was highly honored in an unimaginable concept for his lifelong services, go ahead and view this matter. I was a pall bearer of course. The definition of a family is a unit that cohabitates. Your policy stating the values begins with front line associates and family values. This is fallacy because if front line associates are priority before the CEO and management, why is it that managers can take the day off for any incident with family and be compensated, yet associates are penalized? Obviously, I could not afford approximately $7000 dollars to attend a funeral (without my wife), Airfare, hotel, rented vehicle, etc., and I am in serious debt as I had to use my college tuition money to offset costs. I am 98% complete of a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership Performance/ Human Resources/ Education. I will not graduate until I pay the $4,000 owed for tuition. It will be a serious challenge now. I am grateful that there are those who advocated for me and assisted me for a week off. I did not expect bereavement pay and basically could not afford it on a meager salary. I feel disrespected, devalued, and do not believe the values wheel aligns with what you portray. There is no diversity as the organization claims because immediate family is defined in perspectives that the organization does not recognize. Three days' pay really would have been comforting and rewarding. Asociates cannot afford tragedies of this magnitude. I am on every committee VOA, in focus team, coach, a former Journeyman electrician and I provide the best customer service you can imagine for this corporation. I have lost a lot of motivation and yet continue to display excellent customer service in spite that as a VOA member, I hear complaints from associates who believe that our success check was pilfered by top managers long time specialists, department heads, and associates were terminated for stealing via mark down appliances for personal gain and were recently fired for stealing. It's difficult to disagree with their points as it is silently reported that over $500,000 dollars was in question. The amount is arguable however, it displays the climate and attitude of associates. If that kind of money is a concern for the corporation, what message are you sending when the entire store heard of my situation? What thought process goes into making a meager bereavement pay of less than $500 dollars to console an excellent employee in comparison to theft by management, product we ZMA and destroy etc.., and the shrink 220 plus associates got robbed of? Please check your values wheel because it appears to be skewed. You have to treat those associates that cannot afford personal matters with more consideration for retention purposes and planned sales objectives. I will continue my excellent customer service, that's how I am and what my uncle taught. I would be remised to think that I am the only one who has been in this positioned. Please rethink your bereavement policy for the benefit of individuals, families, and the organization. I do not want to see anyone go through what I experienced.

Respectfully submitted,

Regards,

Blair Bradley (bfb3kys) store#1802

Home Depot Phone calls for information

HD has horrible customer service and phone call information. Their reps know nothing and every person gives you different information.

Do not want to be connected to a recording;want an actual human being! Not that when you get them, are they helpful.

When calling the gift card division for information, do not want to be repeatedly connected to a promotion!

Home Depot LG washing machine. Bought 12/2022

Started leaking water. Called LG and they were no help. Called Home Depot about the warranty bought from them. Told me to call Allstate, they handle all the warranties. Was no way to be able to speak to anyone. Just go to their computer site. Where you find no way to find out anything about HD warranty.
The HD warranty is just a joke.
They need to take back the Warranty work so the customer can have the service they need.
I buy almost everything from HD and think they are a great company, but their warranty is terrible.

For our kitchen remodel they charged $35 for the floor installer to come out and measure. Then he told us they don't do the uninstall and reinstall for appliances. We should have been told this up front before we made the appointment, because we wouldn't have. Since we didn't get our floor through them we lost the $35. Once the cabinets were finally...

Home Depot Employee

Waiting long at garden center. Girl talking too much. Finally get to register, she refused to acknowledge me. Asked her to call for help as over 10 people behind me. She went crazy mad 😡 and told me not to tell her how to do her job. Then ripped my cart out of my hands shoving across the isle. She then said she could wait on who she Fu-- wanted too. Then said for me to leave. I went to service desk and asked for manager. He goes to her and not me. I had to eith my cane walk back and feel embarrassed. Manager was Zero help even when I told him she cursed at me. Used the F word at me. I will gladly tear up my CC with them. Punk trash to disrespect a senior who is handicapped.

Home Depot Deceptive policies and discriminatory business practices

Order #WP60601784 was delivered April 15, 2023, within 2-hours we initiated an exchange for the Samsung dryer received for a Samsung washer and dryer on April 15 at Store #2583 (see attached), as directed by Home Depot's customer service. The exchange was approved. However later in the day, one of the associates present during the exchange was instructed by Jessica, appliance manager, to cancel the transaction including the confirmed pickup scheduled for April 19. We were not provided with a justification. I spent the rest of the day calling and corresponding with Home Depot's virtual assistants for a resolution to no avail.

Most concerning was the lack of direct interaction with effective management. I attempted to speak with the store manager, Brian, but was told he was unavailable until Monday. I spoke with Brizeida, store #2583's customer service experience manager, who was particularly unpleasant. Further Gloria Weaver, virtual customer service assistance manager, called me at approximately 8pm, requesting a picture of the dryer to confirm it is in the same condition as received. I immediately emailed a picture to Gloria, she confirmed receipt. She then proceeded to challenge our experiences and provided yet another explanation for the day's events which are contradicted by our documentation.

The change in Home Depot's decisions and actions after approving our requested changes demonstrates discriminatory and inconsistent business practices. When I shared our concerns with Manager Weaver, she stated that Home Depot hires people of all genders as proof the company doesn't discriminate. I have no idea why Manager Weaver assumed the corporation's discrimination was gender and/or identity based, you have to ask her.

In addition to not honoring the Corporation's contractual obligations, we were subjected to differential treatment and unpleasant interactions with Home Depot staff and management. Therefore, at 10a April 16, I canceled order H2583-729617 because we will not accept further mistreatment from Home Depot. We will, instead, purchase our washer and dryer and future home improvement needs from Lowe's.

Fair resolution: Complete the refund and return of order #WP60601784, initiated at store #2583 and approved by management as evidenced by the refund of the 3-year protection plan and confirmed pickup on April 19th (see attached receipt). Alternatively, we are willing to pay 15% restock fee and/or return the dryer to Store #2583 to resolve this matter. The dryer is in the exact same condition including packaging as received (see pictures). Further we met Home Depot's requirement for initiating changes to purchases within 48 hours. Absent a fair, effective resolution we will continue to pursue the matter.

Desired outcome: Complete the refund and return of order #WP60601784 as initiated at store #2583 and approved by management (see receipt). We offered a compromise in the above section.

Home Depot Service at HD

The Home Depot located on 168th street in Jamaica Queens has to be be one of the worst in the USA. The kind of people employed there need to be removed and replaced by others who are interested in working. Help from most of the store reps. are next to zero. The answer is “oh, I don’t work in this aisle” will get someone to help you which never happens. The lines are long at checkout with just 1 or 2 cash registers open. The self check out has been closed for a while now. Store reps. could be seen congregating in groups and using their phones even when at the cash register. Customers training is required.

Home Depot Re-stocking fee

On April 12, 2023, I had a Samsung double oven delivered to my home that I bought on line. I was looking on line for a manual, so I could find out how to use it. There was not a manual in the box. I found on the Costco website that the exact same oven was $1,400 cheaper. I called Home Depot and asked them to match it. They refused. Since it was a considerable amount of money and the website does say you have 48 hours to return your purchase, I told them I would return the oven. They retorted that they were going to charge me at 15% re-stocking fee. When I purchased the oven, I did not see anything about that on line. The website never alerted that upon purchase. Sorta bait and switch there.

The Home Depot website says "they MAY charge a re-stocking fee...not that they WILL charge a re-stocking fee. Very gray area.

This is a very poor business practice and not fair to the consumer. If you charge a re-stocking fee, you need to clear upon purchase. Home Depot, you were not and you need to be consise in your return policy.

Home Depot Unsatisfactory Service

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the delay in delivery of my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. I placed my order on March 25th with the expectation that it

would be delivered to my home within a week. Unfortunately, the delivery was delayed, and I will not receive my appliances until April 15th.

This delay has caused me significant inconvenience as I had to make alternative arrangements for laundry and food for my family and me during this period.

Moreover, it is unacceptable that Home Depot could not deliver my appliances as promised, especially considering the amount of money I paid for them.

As a loyal Home Depot customer, I deserve compensation for the delay. I kindly request a credit for the two weeks that my delivery was delayed, as

A reasonable request has been given the circumstance. I hope you will take my concerns seriously and appropriately address this matter. I look forward to

hearing back from you and receiving a satisfactory resolution.

Home Depot Military discount is a fraud

Purchased today storm doors at Home Depot in Tigard,Oregon.

Beware. Military discount declined. Only useful for lumber and other

very specific merchandise. I have been a faithful Home Depot cus-

tomorrow over many years. I have paid cash for everything in recent memory. No issues; however, (hopefully to save without military deduction) I applied for a Home Depot card and the card too was declined.

Obviously the military discount is a 'come on' fraud.

I don't believe Home Depot cares about anything concerning the USA.

With all the China manufactured items in their stores, they are un-american. I will shop at Lowe's from now on irregardless of price or place of mfg.

Home Depot advertises heavily regarding to the Military discount; however, this verges on false advertising. No where in the advertising

did I see exclusions. Very deceptive.

Desired outcome: Nothing, ----- but voicing my opinion.I was pre-approved for 10% discount at Lowes

Home Depot Apple gift cards

I purchased a two Apple Gift Cards from two different stores and both were invalid and could not be redeemed. Apparently someone had tampered with the cards and switched them out. After several phone calls to customer support I was advised to go the stores to resolve the. matter. Both stores took all my information and told me it would take a couple of weeks but that the cards would be sent to me in the mail. It’s been over a month and when I called customer support on this they told me to check with the stores. I’ve run out of patience with this and I’m tired of going to the stores and talking with people that keep telling me misinformation. If this doesn’t work then I’m escalating to the BBB.

Desired outcome: Replace the invalid cards with valid cards.
