HiBid Hibid and vail scammers

As an ex 15 year military Anti-Terrorism Officer, I was fool enough to trust the citizens of this country, Val Vail proved me wrong. High bidder on 2 fake, misrepresented gold bars, and an $2.50 Golf Indian Head coin. Sent them back, certified, requesting refund, like another person here, standard response, ‘not going back and forth, going anywhere.’ Val then had the gall to relist all of them at his most recent auction (carried by HiBid, who I had previously complained to, no response, just as bad, the enablers). Still have contacts in the AT world, but held off, used a simple alga rhythm, he uses fake bidders to jack the prices up, but they have IP addresses associated with (he clearly overlooked that, not so smart after all). All could be trace back to Vail (employees/family). There’s a reason he only accepts wire transfers, no recourse (but there is, just have to piss off the wrong person). Problem with the closed auction, that I was taken at, is you can no longer see the bidders, ahh, but live auctions you can. His hero ghost, amongst many is, zop****', seriously, check out his next auction (carried by HiBid), he’ll probably want to change the handles, but he’s too greedy, too much of a low life bottom dweller. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE all who have been taken by him to file with www.reportfraud.ftc.gov. Together we can make Vail4Jail! (Oh his sweet house and flash vehicle, seized, the family, oh, boohoo). My ex buddies will be involved soon enough.

Recommendation: avoid both, and anyone listed on HiBid

HiBid JAG auction gallery on hibid are frauds or poor auctioneers

JAG Auction Gallery on HiBid auction site is a dishonest or fraudulent auctioneer. They choose to fail in sending winning invoice and claim that you did not pay. They failed to set reserves and simply cheated on the auction by not honoring winning bids as required in the rules for listing on HiBid (and several other sites). Then they claim that their ridiculous fine print language about being able to simply cancel the bids as their mood fits them. This does not absolve them of those winning bidder requirements. Either they are just poor auctioneers or they are trying to gain access to your payment information through the auction site (bc they do after you win a bid) and offer fictitious items for sale.

Recommendation: Avoid like the plague

HiBid Ariel's auction services of Aberdeen Maryland

I recently purchased an item from ariels auction services on hibid. I paid for the item. When the box came, it was a completely different item and one I didnt want nor paid for. I contacted ariel's auction services and she said to to bad and mail it back to me at my expense. Do not buy anything from ariel's auction services. The performed the classic bait and switch on me. I paid them for an item and they didnt send it! They refuse to send it. Contacting the local police in aberdeen maryland next.

Recommendation: DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM ARIELS AUCTION SERVICES

Ariel's Auction Services tries to avoid responsibility for its bait-and-switch scheme. It’s better to skip the blame game and contest the charge with your bank or credit card company right now. While filing a police report is useful, make sure you also submit reports to the FTC as well as your state’s office for consumer protection. Make their scam public to every extent possible.

HiBid Love Auctions

I have enjoyed going to live auctions for many years, and had a large collection of antiques. Over the past several years I have started using online auction services. I like using this service as it is multiple auctions in any place you may be in at any given time. Mostly, I love searching for things I can use at a lower price than buying from a store. I am having a great time using this, and have found some amazing deals!

HiBid Kansas city area auctioneers

Most auctions are ran well, too many buyers do not inspect the items they are buying, almost everything is used so condition is in the eye of the beholder. I have had very good luck buying and selling with Barnyard auctions in Ottawa, Kansas. But all the local auctioneers have been good, as long as you ask questions and inspect when needed. If an auctioneer refuses to return your call or don't have a inspection time I would be leery.

HiBid Hibid is just the vehicle

Hibid is a gathering place of auctions and doesn't have their own auctions. All auctions on hibid have their own rules that you must follow and it has nothing to do with hibid. If you have problems with a certain auction that doesn't mean you will have the same problem on every auction. These auctions pay a fee to hibid to use their services and are not the cause of any bidding or selling of item problems. I buy from auctions on hibid all The time, some are great, some are not. If there is a problem, contact the auction you bid with.

HiBid Good internet auction experience

System workflow process is pretty well thoughtout.

There could be some better navagation options... it's not always intuitive.
For example, I would like to see a simple navigation drop down list that easily navigates to (1) items bid on that won; (2) items bit on that lost; (3) watch list won; (4) witch list lost; (5) watch list all... etc.

If you are really serious about making user interface improvements, feel fee to contact me.
I don't want to spend too much time making suggestions if you're not really interested in making changes.

HiBid Love Very Beneficial and Convenient!

I love this site! Very convenient for my personal use and my business as well! I can set up my profile with my business then list my items in minutes but the best part is selling them within 90 seconds! Love the adrenaline rush when items start flying off of my market. Everything is US and security approved which takes a load off my shoulders. Basically my own Advertisement plus sales in a bundle. I liked it so much that I started bidding for personal use. Instead of waiting hours like other bid auctions it's done in minutes! I can auction anywhere with the slide of my finger! Thanks hotbid.com!

HiBid Great Success With HiBid

I don't understand the bad reviews. I've always had great service and I've always got items I've won. I have NEVER not gotten an item. I'm speaking from experience. I probably have 40-50 items in my house. Latest item a Breitling watch, half the price of what its worth (yes, it is authentic!). Shipping can be high sometimes but that isn't a hibid issue. Another thing, bids ALWAYS goes up during the final minutes. It's the nature of the game. Every auction is like this. Decide what you will pay and stick with it. Some you win and some you won't. That's how auction are. There will always be another auctions, if you don't get it this time - maybe you will next.

HiBid Haven't had any problems

Haven't had any problems.
Wow, checking out the reviews here I felt the need to post my actual review. So far I haven't had any problem with any auction houses I've paid from, and some of them are not close by. I'm just careful when I shop. The honesty is no different then purchasing on eBay or other auction websites. There will be dishonest people, but 90% of the people are not dishonest and are trying their best.

Most of them are upfront if shipping is available. And if it's not, go check the shipping and pick up policies before you bid on some thing. I have done that multiple times and then not been able to bid on something. It's called common sense. I look as closely as I can at the pictures, before bidding. Sometimes even that doesn't work out right for me. I've bought mistakes, overpaid when I shouldn't have, and most of those problems are my fault not the auction house and not the website.

HiBid People making reviews are clueless

I dont think anyone reviewing hibid understands what they are. Hibid is like the ebay of local auctions. Hibid does not sell ANYTHING. They dont pack anything, they dont ship anything. They are just the platform that hundreds if not thousands of independent auctioneers use to run auctions. Some good. Some bad.

Often times your auction experience is how good YOU make it. I always reach out to auctioneers before a sale. If they offer shipping I ask how they ship and what sort of packing they use. I give specific instructions with valuable and expensive items and confirm they can comply with my needs.

The result: i spend tens of thousands of dollars at individual auctions that i never would have known about, or never would have participated in if it wasnt for internet hosting sites like hibid. And long term I've bid on millions of dollars of equipment for my business that I otherwise never would have had access to.

HiBid Used hibid many times

I have used hibid for what i collect as well as for my business. With every use for my personal use i always contact the auction house directly to find out their shipping costs. For the most part they are reasonable. Some have high fees but i figure that into my bidding. All items i have had shipped always arrived in as described condition. I have also enjoyed the fact that when i put items online it exposes them to a much larger audience. With some rare items hibid has gotten me over 5 times what they go for in my area. I love buying vintage rc cars from this site. What i will tell people is do your own research on what you are bidding on this is not Ebay meaning when sold it is as is where is. With no guarantees. Contact the seller if you have questions. I have found most times they respond and are happy to tell you about it. Also check the reviews of the auction house. I know if i tell people in good working order i stand behind it.

HiBid Rude auctioneers selling fake memoribilia

Got a call from an Irate auctioneer after I had been waiting weeks and weeks for them to either ship me a new item or refund me. Took them 7 weeks after multiple calls and emails from me. Claimed i damaged the item when it was ripped inside a box and the box wasnt damaged. Calls me and starts being rude with nothing but excuses, I dont care about your excuses you are a business so act as such or find a different job. Also 80% of certain seller memoribilia items are fake autographs with fake certificate of authenticities. I learned my lesson wont ever shop there again. Not to mention the self bidding by certain merchants without hibid stepping in. Im sure they dont care cause the higher the sale price the higher the premium they get. JUNK JUNK JUNK.

Recommendation: Stick to Ebay or other auction sites. High premiums for fake items.

HiBid Fake items from vail auctioneers on hibid

Unlucky high bidder on 2 fake slabs of gold turning out to be copper and one incorrectly listed Indian Head gold $2.50 coin (sent back, no refund, now relisted on HiBid, same auction house). Attempted to obtain refund from Vail, failed. Contacted Paula from HiBid, said she would copy me on all email to Vail (didn't). Had to contact her 3 days later to find all she did was forward my same email to seller. 3x this happened. Contacted Paula again to suggest she and her company were complicit based on reviews of Vail, for their continued listing and lack of customer service, also stated Vail runs a scam of fake bidder jacking up bids (see attached, (former ATO, all IP addresses go back to Vail), no response to date, guess, as they get a share of the bid premium, what do they care.

Claimed loss: $5600

Desired outcome: Refund, closure of Vail as auctioneers, or at least jail time

You fell victim to a fraudulent seller hawking counterfeit gold, and HiBid turned a blind eye while pocketing the auction fee — textbook example of willful negligence. Paula performed the absolute minimum, didn't care to actually follow up, and allowed the same junk to be relisted. At this point, if they continue permitting documented scam artists to do business, they’ve moved beyond being complicit — they’re making money off it. You possess the documentation, IP evidence, and the industry experience to demonstrate it; keep attacking them, because silence is their shield, and public scrutiny is your weapon.

HiBid Auction occurring on 4/17/2025

I am writing to formally request a thorough review and investigation into the bidding practices observed during the 4/17/25 HiBid Interstate Auction and Realty Furnishings Auction. I specifically request investigation into the authenticity of the bidder’s account, pattern of bidding history, and specific activity on 4/17/25 for the lot numbers listed. Please refer to the details below that provide a pattern and proof of unethical and fraudulent activities.

Early in the week, it became apparent there was an error with the lots listed for the 4/17/25 auctions; and subsequently the 4/19/25 auction as well. Most items only permitted bidders to bid the posted amount, resulting in 90% of the items closing with zero bidders. However, for a brief period, a few items were posted without the retail or auction house's cost listed, allowing me to place bids. Shortly after, these items switched to requiring bids at the retail or actual cost, except for a few items that switched after additional bids were placed.

Despite notifying the auctioneer, by email on Tuesday about this issue, no corrective action was taken before live bidding commenced on Thursday and Saturday. The failure to address the problem proactively rather than using greater software access or an obvious company bidder plant has compromised the integrity of the auction process.

I have photographic evidence showing I was winning several items until the final moments when I can only assume a party involved in the auction began entering retail or cost bids on all of my items. This bidder targeted only the items I was bidding on, never the exact posting with no bidders, which is suspicious. Furthermore, the “company plant” was able to bid an amount less than the posted next required bid to "win" an item. Again, I have photographic proof that average bidders were not permitted by the software to do this as when attempting the lesser amount was rejected by the system. This discrepancy is a clear indicator of fraudulent activity.

I have documented and provided the winning “bidder” of the items I bid on, revealing a pattern of the same bidder repeatedly outbidding me and not other exact item listings. The mismanagement and underhanded methods used to handle a program error have called the validity of the auction process into question.

According to the Kentucky Revised Statutes, Chapter 330, auction houses in Kentucky are required to adhere to strict regulations and ethical standards to ensure fair and transparent practices. Auctioneers must conduct their business with integrity and fairness which obviously was not what occurred with the auction on 4/17/25

Desired outcome: Given the evidence of unethical practices and fraud, I request the items I fairly bid on be sold to me at my bid price ($339.00). I can provide a PDF with the proof referenced.

HiBid Pressure washer won on HiBids in Whitter, CA

I won a pressure washer on Hibids on Mar. 12, 2025 and we told if I didn't pick it up within 7 days that I would be charged a restocking fee. I even received an email from Hibid on the morning of Mar. 16 telling me that just to get a quote on what shipping would cost they were going to charge me $35.00. For a quote. On my way to pick up this item my gas lines on my car broke on the freeway and I had to find someone to give me a ride just so I wouldn't get charged. Then when I finally arrived the had the nerve to tell me the item was not in the warehouse When I asked if they could just make it right by giving me the other one they had for a different auction the girl said she could not find it. I'm wondering how many times they have charge people for not picking up their item. When in reality it was never there to begin with.

Claimed loss: The gas lines are going to cost me $283.00 and the $20.00 I lost in my gas tank. Plus my friends gas $15.00. The told charge for the item was 8.88. A grand total of $326.88

Desired outcome: I would like for them to ship me a new pressure washer in place of the one they sold me but did not have. And ship it to me. That is the least they could do.

HiBid Bidding increments

Stritzinger auction of 2/26/2005 thru 3/9/2005, item # 67. I had a high bid of $100 on this item, according to your increment bidding rules, the next valid bid should be $110, however someone now has a high bid of $105. When I tried to bid $105, I was told that I had to increase my bid to $110.What is with this, you set the rules, how about following them. This is the third time I had this happen. The bid is now $105, and the next bid has to be $120. $15 increment , not $10

Desired outcome: Fix this, or change your bidding format

HiBid Fake jewelry

Bought $2633 of jewelry from Assured Asset Exchange (AABids) on HiBid, most of it counterfeit diamonds by cost. Below is a series of deceptive tactics ultimately facilitating what I believe is the intentional sale of counterfeit merchandise (i.e. fraud).

When I received the items, it was clear some were not as pictured. I was told directly by the auctioneer that they only use stock images (of other items)! Imagine buying jewelry based on a picture, being sent something else, and them then just shrugging that they use different pictures. For example, one item was a "6ct diamond" bracelet for $680 (before various surcharges). Imagine buying a bracelet for nearly $1000 and being sent a different bracelet entirely!

I then tested it and realized the bracelet is not only different than the stock picture, it was counterfeit with the diamonds testing as moissanite. They use fake appraisals from a fake company called Precious Gem Laboratories using the same wrong stock photos and then claim, even though it's an entirely different image, that the appraisal is still for "your item!" No surprise, the diamond then tested as fake because of the likely intent to defraud customers with counterfeit items with fake appraisals. I even saw the exact same appraisal listed (same SKU / Appraisal Number, everything) listed on another auction the next day! How did you have my item appraised when the picture in the appraisal doesn't look like my item and the same appraisal is on other items? No reputable third party lab would do this.

When I pointed this out that it is fake and the only evidence they provided to its authenticity (appraisals) are clearly also fake or otherwise not an appraisal for the item I was sent, the auctioneer that admitted to using fake stock photos and reusing appraisals for multiple items told me I was wrong. He claimed the appraisals can be reused because the items are identical - even down to their impurities/imperfections being somehow perfectly replicated - and with the items not the same bracelet pictured. When I pointed out I'm a PhD scientist, I know how research gemstone testing, he just called me a "vigilante looking for wrongdoing" and various other insults. After considerable other misinformation, he then bluffed by telling me I could get it appraised and he would refund me double the cost and reimburse appraisal fee, if my dual thermal and electrical conductivity tests turned out correct and that the diamonds appraise again as fake. He said arrogantly, "but we both know this won't happen," but I said I would get it appraised by a licensed appraiser. He then began walking his claims back and saying I had to send it to GIA themselves (the highest ranking gem testing lab) - even though their fake appraisals are from a barely existent entity called Precious Gem Labs with a very suspicipusly simplistic website. Essentially, while he asks some watered down lab with a barely functioning website, I have to ask Jesus himself if the items he sells are real.

So he's essentially tried to misinform, dupe, and intimidate a PhD scientist with bluffs in everything from what types of diamond tests exist, to that it's the customer's job to get his fake merchandise tested (even beyond buying a $200 dual thermal and electrical tester), and ultimately has tried to obligate customers to get his fake merchandise appraised themselves, even though he claims to already have stock-photo fake appraisals! When his bluffing fails, he walks it back, and only when completely backed into a corner after a PhD scientist has spent 20-30h researching and hundreds of dollars on tests does he offer to return the merchandise. Others are not so lucky: the same offer he made me regarding double-refunds if a GIA-certified appraiser determines my items are fake was not respected for another Better Business Bureau complaint dated 06-28-2023; in that instance he completely ignored it and claimed his own likely fake appraisal trumps it - the exact opposite of what he said to me.

So unless you're a PhD scientist, have time and ability to do 20h of research, extra money to spend buying both your own tester and getting everything reappraized, or you for some reason like getting counterfeit merchandise that isn't as pictured and tests as fake, I suggest you do not shop with them. You will otherwise likely struggle to get even the offer to refund your purchase. I am extremely skeptical that even I will be able to actually get the refund suggested.

HiBid's representative even stated this is a common issue with them, citing that even "another auctioneer bought $10k of their items and is furious," and she believes HiBid is simply awaiting enough complaints to kick AABids off the platform. I suggested they do so ASAP as it wards people off of HiBid entirely. I certainly will not be purchasing from it again.

Claimed loss: $2633 and about 20-30h of work

Desired outcome: Removal of Assured Asset Exchange (AABids)

The company expects as detailed a description as possible, doesn't allow easy edits, and then doesn't make it clear you're etching in stone a permanent record of some partially typed complaint. If you want it as complete as possible, at least allow short-term edits on the vicinity of the submission (e.g., prior to review, even). Otherwise, you're going to go a lot of inaccurate content and folks will stop using the service.

HiBid Shill Bidders and Poor Packers!

I have to say "buyer beware" when using this auction site. As an online reseller of estate sales and auction items, HIBID was a great find for our company, at least, initially. However, you have to be diligent in your search for quality auctioneers and put forth some effort to find the quality ones.

Shill bidding was found on two huge sites that sale numerous items every month. Washington Surplus is a total scam and shill bidding site and you will never be able to find a good deal there. Their sister company, Vail Auctioneers, also in Washington, is full of shill bidders also. In addition, they sale broken and non-working items as New Old Stock when they clearly aren't. What is a shill bidder? A shill bidder is hired by the auctioneer to bid on items up for auction so that the profits will be better as well as their buyer premiums. A perfect example is below:

One small box of misc sunglasses are up for auction. Day of auction bid is $5. During the final minutes of the auction, we bid $6 and became high bidder. The box of sunglasses was only worth around $10 as nothing was noteworthy in the pictures. A minute after our high bid, another bidder bid $7, then we bid $8, they bid $9 and so on. As I suspected by the timing of the bids, a shill bidder was being used. To prove this theory, we bid a maximum of $52 on this $10 box of sunglasses just to see how this shill bidder was going to work. Sure enough, the shill bidder bid up to $52 and stopped. They new exactly what our max bid was and the only people who can see that figure are the auctioneers themselves. How ironic that a auctioneer who deals in police seizures and police surplus are indeed, crooks themselves!

On another note, we just purchased a beautiful sculpture from an estate sale run by American Realty and Auction, LLC out of Dixson, Tennessee. When preparing the sculpture for shipment, the item wasn't even wrapped securely in bubble wrap let alone encased with packing peanuts, wrapping paper and double boxing. Nope, just one poorly boxed sculpture in with a box of trading cards and sunglasses. Several of the sunglasses were broken as well. Communication was poor as the auctioneer stated they mailed the package over two weeks ago but tracking shows that it was mailed only three days prior to arrival.

So in review, in our opinion, avoid the following auctioneers / companies on HIBID.com:

1. Washington Surplus (uses shill bidders)
2. Vail Auctioneers (uses shill bidders)
3. American Realty & Auction, LLC (Inconsiderate, lazy packers who could care less about your purchases)

Also be mindful of the shipping options! Some companies will put a per lot fee or handling fee that can exceed $25 per item or lot! Luckily, they aren't all like that but "Buyer Beware" when on HIBID.

HiBid Will not protect buyer

They only care about the auctioneer, care nothing for the buyers. Allows auctioneers to blackmail buyers? I made a bid for a 20 item and I won. Almost a day or two after I ended up having sinus surgery, a week of recuperating I had to have another surgery. My doctor advised me not to go anywhere for a month, complete bed rest. Well this
Auctioneer appears to only take cash. I explained my situation, begged and pleaded this women at Bendis auctions in Califonia, to please allow me to pay her online, paypal, venmo CC or any other way. Again I explained my situation. I could not leave my home, I was SICK... I did not have envelopes nor stamps as I always pay bills and anything else via internet and I would take me a while to be able to get out to follow her strict directions of her way of being paid. I tried to appeal to her sense of compassion one again, and she simply threatened me with blacklist. I make my living this way, I spend 20-30k a year on hibid. Ok so now I beg my 85 year old widowed mom to please find a way to help me get these items. So finally got her check in the mail, I have copies of all emails emailed between us, I as well emailed mher to let her know her check was in the mail I also added an extra $2.00 on her check for intrest for 35 days, as well I told her to just please donate the item to someone needy or keep it herself and do whatever, relist etc. I called hibid and explained the story as this women with no compasion now has me blacklisted on hibid, so now there are no auctioneers that will approve me to bid. Hibid, was gracious And understanding, but said they could do nothing about it, they would try to cAll MissNo Compassion, to no avail. Anyway thewy have allowed this person to continue to blacklist me. They collect a fee for thier platform from auctioneers, as well a nice fee to the sellers. I feel they should be a company who appreciates both entities they are collecting money from, and make an effort to protect both entities. The auctioneer's name is Diane Bendis, from Bendis Companies Inc, out of California. To future bidders/buyers make sure to look at the owners of the auction you would like to bid at. If it happens to be Bendis, run don't walk away as quickly as possible fron that auction, or take the chance that you may bid 20 dollars, win and get sick or get covid after the invoice shows up. And you believe people are understanding and think Diane Bendis will work with you and your illness. NO she will just blacklist you, why because she can. Truly please listen to me, this women hAs ruined my way to make a living over being 35 days late with a 20 dollar payment. Beware of Diane Bendis of Bendis Company Inc. and Of Hibid protecting YOU the BIDDER... Please blacklist her before she blacklists YOU. As far as Hibid, do your complete on the auction and auctioneer before you ever bid on their auction. BE diligent to know Who the Auctioineer is. I should have

HiBid Suspended account

After trying to find out why my account has been suspended, I finally found out today that the suspension was made by Assured Asset Exchange. From what I can understand, I made several successful bids on 9/08/2023 and one bid on 9/11/2023. Afterwards I received email with copies of my invoices #19994 & #19890, both marked PAID IN FULL.

I received the items for invoice #19890 in the amount of , but never received the item for #19994. I was not charged for the second invoice in the amount of and when I checked my account, there is no charge for that item, but I also did not receive the item. However, there is a charge of on my account for the first invoice. I was told that I had been contacted by email 3 times that I owed and since I did not respond, I was suspended. I have many emails from Assured, but none telling me that I had an outstanding balance. I did receive emails with both invoices saying PAID IN FULL. (My credit card is on file and all information is correct.) The clerk says she cannot correct this transaction. I have given her permission to run my card through again, but, she refused and told me if I mailed a check for this amount, it would also be refused. She says I will remain suspended until I can raise my score, although I am not allowed to bid, so I do not understand how that will happen.

This suspension has me blocked on ALL HiBid auctions.

When I sign in, I can actually save the watch feature, but when I try to bid, either it lets me bid and my bid goes to "pending, by approval of the auctioneer" and then it is declined later, or

I cannot register and then I get a message that "my account has been suspended."

Please help. I have called every auctioneer I can find and no one knows the answer. I have not been able to locate any other auctioneer that has me suspended and they have not been able to explain the situation. This suspension has me blocked with every Hi Bid site.

My last successful bids were on 9/8/23 and 9/11/23 from Assured Asset Exchange.

The bid on 9/11/2023 still has a STATUS message that "I MAY HAVE WON THIS BID, BUT PRICE NOT REALIZED" and I never received the item or an email asking for information about the bid. I also never received emails explaining my card declined the transaction. This card is reserved for special interest, has a very high ceiling and it has never BEEN declined by anyone in the past, plus this same auctioneer had SUCCESSFULLY used it two days before. However, I did receive the invoice stating PAID IN FULL, as I stated above.

The invoice #s are: 19890 and 19994.

Please try to help me with this situation. I am frustrated and do not understand how this can be repaired, since I am still suspended.

I finally reached AAbid today after leaving many messages and several emails trying to find out what happened. The first time I spoke with the clerk, she told me there might be an outstanding balance, but was going to call me back. I never got a call back. Her emails were not clear what had happened, and they could not offer any suggestions as to what had happened until today when they told me they had tried to locate me by email 3 times advising me that there was an unpaid balance; upon searching my email, there were no emails regarding this transaction except for the invoices. If you could please give me instructions as to how to solve this, I would appreciate it. If further information is needed, please email me at [protected]. Thank you for your help and consideration with this matter.

Desired outcome: INFORMATION how to solve this problem and get the suspension resolved.

HiBid HIBID system

All aspects of this business model is wrong. HIBID will allow any kind of auctioneers on its platform without a background check. If you end up being the victim of a scam, HIBID will not take action saying that they only rent their programs to auctioneers. If you contest an extra charge or the quality of an item, The auctioneers can blacklist your account. If you ask HIBIB who Blacklist your account, they will reply that there have no access to this information. If you ask to close your account, they will reply that they cannot close an account and delete your personal data. If you got a bad experience with an auctioneer, there is no place where you can leave a note for other customers. In short, HIBID is a paradise for scammers and bad practice. If you ask HIBID for any kind of help, the answer will always start by sorry but...

Desired outcome: HIBID should be shot down.

HIBID needs to change its way of operation, because at this time if you do not receive the product you paid for, the product is not as described or the product is defective, you need to contact the auctioneer to resolve the problem .

If you cannot reach an agreement with the seller or the seller simply does not respond, HIBID assumes no responsibility and will not intervene, even if the seller is a scammer.

HIBID has implemented a system that allows auctioneers to defraud buyers without leaving a trace and with complete impunity.

To restore a minimum of trust and acceptability:

HIBID must establish a dispute arbitration system.

HIBID must implement a system to rate auctioneers and leave feedback. Auctioneers have this option, which gives them a clear advantage over buyers.

HIBID must commit to banning delinquent investigators and scammers who have been reported

HIBID must allow buyers to consult their file, consult their rating and request that all data related to their account be deleted if they request the deletion of their account.

HiBid Sellers not charging card on file will ban you for not paying

I won a bid. Was sent an invoice through email. My card is attached to my account, all other times i have won on HiBid they charged the card on file. The seller did not charge my card. He called once and left a nasty voicemail that he called 3 times, but did not, and was nasty that I did not pay. I won a $7 product that they were going to charge $70 on top to ship to me. They just needed to charge my card. He did not. Then he put a ban against my account so I cant bid in the future. Be careful for scammers on this site.

Desired outcome: Unbanned and that this seller is reprimanded for being nasty over a $7 bid with a buyer who’s card was on file….

HiBid HiBid’s unilateral complaint ONLY favoring the seller continues to promote defamation of character by unsavory sellers.

HiBid’s unilateral complaint ONLY favoring the seller continues to promote defamation of character by unsavory sellers. It is wrong that HiBid allows knowingly FALSE AND MISLEADING REPRESENTATIONS BY SELLERS – IN ADDITON TO LYING DECEPTIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

To wit, upon purchasing more than anticipated (June 23rd) I had to have a seller wait a whopping one extra business day to transfer funds when the bank was open. (I even took off work that morning to make sure the seller would get funds ASAP that day, June 25th.) How this gives them carte blanche to mistreat the buyer, AS WELL AS LIE and defame a buyer is beyond me – and arguably the legal process.

On June 27, 28 and June 30 I emailed the selling firm to after PAYMENT TO INQUIRE THAT AFTER NOTIFYING SHIPPING SAINT ON THE 24TH “TO SHIP THE ITEM” I HAD NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK REGARDING SHIPPING FROM THEM – NOR FROM THE SELLING FIRM. All 3 emails fell on deaf ears and were not responded to in any way. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY AMD DEMONSTRABLY PART OF HORIFIC “CUSTOMER SERVICE”.

Having heard NOTHING after 4 emails that week I texted the selling firm’s owner – the one who had tersely texted about “when will we be paid” – WHEN I HAD CLEARLY AND CONSISTENTLY COMMUNICATED TO THE FIRM (EVEN WHEN SIGNING UP FOR THE BIDDING!) THAT IT WOULD BE “THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY” – MONDAY. WHICH IN FACT IT WAS.

But the terse Mr. Cash then goes and lies in his email when after 4 FAILED UNANSWERED EMAILS and tests me “All items are mailed in three days”. Another bald faced lie as it turned out. (And here it is ~ 2 weeks later, AND FIVE DAYS AFTER I PAID SHIPPING SAINT AND THEY HAVE ONLY CREATED A LABLE – THE TRACKING NUMBER SHOWS THE ITEM HAS STILL NOT EVEN BEEN SHIPPED. Mr. Cash’s “Items are shipped in 3 days” was utter BS. It’s been over 2 weeks and it’s still not shipped.

Moreover, Mr Cash’s firm INCREDULOUSLY LIED IN POSTING ON HIBID’S SYSTEM THAT I WAS A ‘NON-PAYING BIDDER’. Complete and utter 100% defamatory lie. When confronted Mr. Cash said he didn’t know what his employees did but would take care of it. That too was a lie. FIVE DAYS LATER AND THAT DEFAMATORY LIE BY THE SELLING FIRM IS STILL POSTED. AND I STILL DON’T HAVE MY OVER $500 IN GOODS I PURCHASED. NOR IS IT EVEN SHIPPED YET!

Desired outcome: HiBid to allow OPEN BUY AND SELL BOARDS WITH BITH BUYER AND SELLER COMMENTS.Like Ebay, Amazon, and every other reasonable commercial public goods firm.

HiBid LOT 294-Indiana, IN

I purchased a lawn mower from lot #294 out of Indiana, IN. When I went to pickup the item I noticed the lawn mower was badly damaged. Online it states the mower is brand new and works and since I have had issues with lots claiming items are new and then I take it home and it doesn't work I asked for a refund. The item was clearly used and damaged and had I known that I would not have purchased it. The manager was rude and not understanding and refused to return my money or find me another mower. I am asking for you all to honor the return as the description did not match the item and it is unfair to mislead customers into thinking they are buying something new when it is clearly used. I have never asked for a refund before and have purchased with you all for years but this is where I draw the line. It is unfair and unethical!

Desired outcome: A refund or a new item

HiBid gun auction

Collectors Auctions is operating through a HiBid platform. They conducted a gun auction, were paid by wire transfer and never shipped one of the guns that was purchased. They are not responding and cannot be reached. Before we request and investigation through the Attorney Generals Office of Texas, we wanted to reach out to you since Hi-bid indicates they are member. They are also not responding to our requests. It appears they are selling the same guns in multiple auctions. I actually bid on the same gun in two separate auctions. What is missing is the first item on the list HOWE M1500.

My dealer received 4 of the 5 guns purchased. They sent two tracking numbers, but neither of them worked. I have been emailing and calling for weeks and no response.

COLLECTORS AUCTIONS

4262 Spring Valley Rd

Farmers Branch, TX 75244

[protected]@cltsauctions.com

Desired outcome: I want evidence they shipped what I purchased. The guns arrived in three shipments with one large box holding two guns. Not enough room for a third gun. I would like the product I purchased shipped.

HiBid Mixed Experiences on HiBid: Shady Characters Slip Through the Cracks

As a frequent buyer on HiBid, I initially had great experiences and found some amazing deals. However, it seems that as the platform has grown, they have let some shady characters slip through the cracks.

For example, I recently purchased two listings of records and a book from JANABEES TREASURES. Trying to get Janis to ship out my items was like pulling teeth, and even after they finally arrived, I discovered that one lot of Rolling Stone LPs was missing. After much hounding, I was able to secure a refund - although it took a whole month to arrive.

Then there was HOPKINS AUCTION. I now only bid on auctions that offer shipping or weekend pickup, and this clown told me I could pick up my items on Sunday (despite some computer issues). However, on Sunday, I learned that he couldn't actually meet me and suggested Monday or Tuesday instead. I refused this because it didn't work for me, but he still charged my credit card. To top it off, he then went on vacation for two weeks and still hasn't refunded me.

And don't even get me started on ATX AUCTIONS SAT, LLC. I've bought a lot from them over the years, but I constantly have to call them out on their false advertising. Items they display on their site often turn out to be very different from what they actually offer.

Overall, I've had some hit or miss experiences with HiBid, and I really wish they would more carefully vet the companies operating under their umbrella. If they don't step up their game and police these sellers, I'll have to take my business elsewhere - unless I want to keep dealing with the likes of Janis, Hopkins, and ATX.

HiBid Beware of HiBid's Proxy Bid Feature: Auctioneers May Be Taking Advantage of Bidders' Maximum Bid Limits

When it comes to online auctions, HiBid is a platform that many people turn to in search of great deals on a variety of items. However, there is a major problem that often goes unnoticed. As one reviewer was quick to point out, HiBid shows the auctioneers your maximum proxy bid. This means that auctioneers can easily take advantage of this information by making fake accounts and bidding you up to $1.00 under your maximum bid. For instance, the reviewer cited multiple instances when a shill bidder would come in and bid $1 under the auction's maximum bid just minutes before the auction closed. Shockingly, this happened over 30 times on one auction they were bidding on.

For those unfamiliar with proxy bids, it's a feature that allows you to enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay for an item. The website then bids for you up to that amount when others bid against you. However, with HiBid's policy of showing your maximum bid to auctioneers, it's not uncommon for them to push you to your limit to make more money. They'll use the information to bid against you using fake accounts since they know your maximum bid, which is both unethical and illegal in the USA.

This would explain why you can find instances of Hibid shill bidding on Reddit. In one thread, an employee from HiBid even admitted to such behavior, further emphasizing the importance of being cautious when it comes to using the proxy bid feature on this site.

While HiBid may seem like a great platform to snag some deals, it's crucial to be mindful of the risks associated with using certain features like proxy bidding. It's best to err on the side of caution and avoid using a proxy bid altogether.

HiBid Avoid Lamont Estate Auctions on HiBid: Missing Items & Violated Rules

Hello fellow auction enthusiasts! I want to share with you my recent experience on HiBid with a specific auction house that I highly recommend avoiding. While most of the auction houses I have bid with on HiBid are just fine, Lamont Estate Auctions by Emily Styles was a different story.

First of all, I have noticed that pictures on HiBid are not always great and sometimes auction houses will use stock photos. However, this particular auction house violated HiBid rules by using ONLY stock photos and no actual item pictures. When I brought this to their attention, they did make some changes, but it was still concerning.

But that wasn't even the worst of it. When I won items and went to collect them, I discovered that six of my items were missing. One item I was able to find buried under a pile of clothes, but the others were nowhere to be found. When I asked the "young lady" (who was checking in buyers) about it, she initially claimed she didn't know they were missing. But as soon as I identified my missing item, she immediately started texting on her phone. It all felt very suspicious.

I reached out to Ms. Styles to let her know about the missing items but never received a response from her. This is where HiBid could have stepped in to help, but unfortunately, they did not. I currently bid with 4 local houses in Houston, and most of them are pretty decent. However, after my experience with Lamont Estate Auctions by Emily Styles, I would strongly suggest staying clear of them.

I believe that auction houses should be responsible and face repercussions for being shady or dishonest. I respect the auction industry and want to have good working relationships with them, but it is important that we call out and avoid the bad actors. Based on my experience, I would suggest bidding with ATX, 4CS, and Martindale, as they have proven to be fair and honest in my experience.

Fellow resellers, I hope my experience can help you make informed decisions when bidding on HiBid. Stay vigilant and don't be afraid to speak out if something doesn't seem right. Happy bidding!

HiBid Hibid is a major risk and disspointment

HiBid simple put does nothing to help or protect buyers. It created a feedback system for only sellers. System buyers can't get access to nor dispute. As a buyer that has been taken advantage of in a few different ways, I dont trust Hibid with anything PERIOD. If they are going to host a platform for sellers then they need to make it fair for the buyers as well. I am not going to spend more time than I already have, just will no longer buy form businesses that use Hibid/flex. They are unwilling to help in anyway!

Desired outcome: Remove auction house from there platform or penalized them for there actions!

HiBid Never received order but was charged

May 7,2023

I bid on a lot in an auction. My credit card has been charged 194.70 on this same day. Today is May 23, 2023 and I have not received an item or invoice. I can’t even find a place that says I won the lot. I can not find where I won anything but was charged. I reached out to the auctioneer twice and no reply. There is no place to contact Hibid directly. I now have lost $194.70 and can’t contact anyone that will help resolve this issue.

Desired outcome: A return of my money or the item I supposedly won with no record of winning.
