Golden Corral Horrible Mother’s Day Incident

Good Day all. You must read in its entirety to get the full experience. Please forgive me - this IS the short version! It occurred on Mother's Day, 5/11/25 (of ALL days) I was invited to attend a gathering at GC (Golden Corral) this particular extremely busy afternoon.

First, I called the GC store 6 times before arriving at the location - no one ever answered the phone (OK, a busy day). When I arrived, I begged the manager to allow me to sit with my ten-member party which included children; and made arrangements to keep my "To Go" order ($34.32) behind the front counter as I sat at the dining table.
While there, I ate NOTHING, drank NOTHING, as GC staff checked every 2 mins to be sure that I didn't.

I was finally asked to leave approx. 20 mins after visiting with family. The mgr. told me that I could continue to visit IF I paid an additional $23.99 just to sit there.

Since I didn't want to pay more than the $34.32 I'd already paid, I went to the front counter to retrieve the packaged food that was waiting there behind the counter. That same mgr. REFUSED to give me the food that I purchased, saying that I didn't ask for it properly, the way he wanted me to ask for it.

GC's entire staff refused to give me my purchase and told me that I had to leave without it. I waited at the counter, as we went back and forth in this CROWDED (Mother's Day) GC restaurant. I requested my PAID FOR food for over an hour, to no avail. They just WOULD NOT give me the food that I purchased.
By this time, it was utter chaos, and the other patrons waiting in line had begun to chime in, also advising the staff to just give me my food so that I could depart. No deal! They were adamant!

Finally I DID leave as they had requested (without my purchase). As I waited outside the restaurant, after a horrifying and shameful debacle, a member of my party went back in to retrieve my order, and they too were told they COULD NOT have the item that I paid $34.32 for.
P.S. While there, I was cursed by atleast 3 of the staff members (yep, they used the F-bomb) as they interjected their "take" on things.

Additional info: The POLICE were called to the store over this! Since I did nothing wrong, the police suggested that I contact the GC corporate offices to get resolution, as it was a civil matter and was out of their hands.
So without delay, I reached out to GC Corporate offices. To my surprise, I HAVE NOT heard back from them either. I have been calling and leaving a message every day, 2 or 3 times a day since the ordeal. All I've been able to do is leave a message, requesting a refund for services NOT rendered.

Golden Corral does not deserve the business they do. This patron is "former" forever! I wouldn't eat there if I were you. They treated me AND my party horribly; FYI - I wouldn't have believed this story either, if only I hadn't experienced it firsthand.

Golden Corral Discrimination against women and men with disabilities

I was in your location in Beaverview tonight with a large party of people with disabilities. We got the party room and the manager come over and say what are you guys doing. I said we are having a birthday party for one of our clients granted they were about 30 people in that room, he told me that we weren’t allowed to have that room and I said what you got a problem with people against disabilities. He wrote his mouth up and told me he does what he wants in his restaurant. He said he was corporate and there’s nothing I could say about it, and I informed him that you cannot discriminate against people with disabilities, and we have that room and we were trying to eat. Then he proceeded to set other people in there at an empty table that was in the room, I do not appreciate this. Our company does not appreciate this and I promise you the ACLU were not appreciated. I plan on contacting them first thing Monday morning as well as the health department because I seen people sneezing in their hands and putting their hands in areas they shouldn’t be putting their hands and serving food. I don’t know who this guy think he is, but this will not be tolerated. You will hear from me again.

Recommendation: My recommendation is to not bring people With disabilities into this restaurant because this guy is very discriminatory toward folks like that and I promise you that he will hear about it

I brought a group of people with disabilities we took over the party room because we had more than 30 people. I knew they didn’t reserve it on Friday nights but I was there first and they told me first come first serve the owner corporate manager as he called himself came over and said what are we doing in a rude manner and I told him that we were eating and having a birthday party for one of our clients for the company that I work for he said well we can’t be doing this and I said what eating and he says, no I’m gonna see people back here cause there’s a table open and I need room for my regular customers and I said for your regular customers he said yes for my regular customers I said why do you have a problem with people disabilities and he just rolled his eyes screwed his mouth up and walked away from me, and then he became very confrontational with me when I approached him again about it I will report this to the ACLU and I will also report it to my company as well as Green county health department because the guys that were in there were blowing their nose and rubbing their nose and touching themselves in places, they should not be touching themselves and then handling food , so I will make sure that I make these complaints as quick as possible

Golden Corral Service

Dear Customer Relations,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent order placed through your website for our team during a business retreat. The order, placed via your website at 12:37pm, with an estimated ready time of 1:34pm. However, a series of issues arose that caused significant inconvenience.
• By 2:15pm, I called to check on the status of the order, only to be informed it was marked as picked up, though we had not yet received it.
• However, when we approached 3pm, the food still had not arrived. We checked the website again and were advised to contact the store directly.
• I spoke with someone at the store who confirmed the order had been picked up, but they were unsure by whom.
• At this point, my team had been working through the retreat, anticipating lunch as a break, and were understandably frustrated by the delay.
• The person I spoke with offered to redo the order, but due to the time constraints, our CEO, President decided to leave the retreat site and personally pick up the food, which was approximately 15 minutes away in each direction.
It became clear that there is no check-in process in place when orders are picked up, which could lead to confusion like this in the future. Given the circumstances, I believe that the third-party delivery/pickup system should be reevaluated to ensure that this kind of situation does not occur again.
This situation caused significant inconvenience, as well as embarrassment, having to leave our team without lunch after they had already been working for several hours. As an owner, I felt that the situation could have been handled differently, especially considering the miscommunication and the lack of resolution for an order that was clearly mishandled.
As a result of this mishap, I feel that reimbursement is appropriate to cover the time lost and the inconvenience caused by this delay. I trusted your website to fulfill this order efficiently, but the lack of communication and the mishandling of the pickup caused significant disruption to our retreat.
I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response.

Golden Corral Refund of Money

On 18-Sept-2024, I used my online Golden Corral App to order a 4-Person Meal of Baked Fish, Baked Beans, and Mac&Cheese for $29.76; Order #[protected]. I called the Golden Corral in Tyler, Texas (5602 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler, TX 75703. On 18-Sept.-2024, I called the Golden Corral in Tyler Texas, and told the manager that I will not be able to pick-up the meals that day. So, the manager (male person) told me that he would delete the order and refund me the money. I also contacted my bank, Bank of America. I informed them about the matter. However, I noticed that I was charged for a meal I never received. It should be “refunded back to my Bank of America Debit Card ending in 9013.”
I’m disabled, a veteran, and as agreed, would like my $29.76 refunded back to my debit card ending in 9013.on 19-Sept.-2024, I called Golden Corral again about the matter.

I am a member of the rewards program. I got an email telling me that I have a $10 reward. I went to use the reward and it was gone. Is there any way to be able to retrieve it? The manager at the Golden Corral in Roxboro NC tried to help me and he was at a loss as well. I go to this Golden Corral every week so I told the manager not to worry about it that I come all the time. He suggested I contact CS at Golden Corral.

Golden Corral Online order and manager Kenny @ Hanover MD

I placed and order on 02/27/24 at the HANOVER STORE, (ORDER #[protected]) pick up my order left the store, didn't check my order unitl I got home and found that I had not gotten the correct pieces, I order and 8 piece 2breast 2 wings 2legsand 2 thighs. I call back to the store and got a manager that told me to call back torrow and speak to KENN. I called on 02/28/2024 spoke to KENNY explain what had happen that I had legs and thighs 1 breast and 1 wing and could I get a refund or get a coupon or other order. KENNY wanted to know who told me to ask for hime I told hime the manager I spoke to yesterday, and could I get a refund or a coupon he then told he asked me did I do this before at another store NO I DIDN"T. because I asked for a refund KENNY told he I couldn't get a refund and thats fine so I told him could I get a coupon he said no, not without the meal I told him I could bring it back on 02/29/2024, because I ask for the refund 1st and his name, KENNY was consumed with that. KENNY told me because I couldn't keep my story straight that he was not giving me anything and I was a liar and hung up on me. I have never been treat this bad by any manager. but I am going to take the chicken back to prove am not a liar, HE was the worst!

Golden Corral Cleanliness of restrooms, selection of food

2/17/2024; 2:00 p.m.. Cape Gir, Mo location

The restroom was she dirtiest public restroom I have ever witnessed. 3 of the 4 stalls were not usable due to filth , therefore the entire visit went downhill. Was very dissatisfied with the selection of food. Food was not kept filled. I had a total of 1 hush puppies, 1 piece of fish and about 3 fries. I did mention to the server how dirty the facilities were. Apparently I was not the only one who had told her about this. If the health department had made a visit I am prtty sure they would have shut the place down. Dessert bar was awful. Pudding was mushy and turned brown

Golden Corral Military support

On 16 December 2023, I stopped at your location #2492. When I walked in, I noticed a poster that showed how you support military men, women, and families. I showed my Retired Army ID (I served 21 years) to the cashier and was told that Golden Corral does not offer that discount anymore. Up to this trip, I had received that discount on every trip, that is why I return often because you did support the military. Then I walked into the dining area and saw the flags of each service being displayed. I found this a bit confusing, please take a stand, like so many veterans have. Support the Military families or do not support them. In closing, I am part of a group that is less than 20% of the US population that volunteered to place their life on the line to allow the other 80% to enjoy their freedoms that are not available in other countries around the world. Golden Corral Store manager

Dear Lance Trenary,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred at one of your Golden Corral establishments, and I believe it is imperative for you to be aware of the experience my family and I had.

On November 25, 2023, my family and I visited the Golden Corral located at 3920 Willian Blvd, Kenner, LA. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of the store manager, Diane. I regret to inform you that she exhibited a level of rudeness that was both surprising and unacceptable.

I believe in the values and reputation that Golden Corral stands for, and it is disheartening to see such behavior from a member of your management team. I am confident that this incident does not align with the standards of service and hospitality that your brand is known for.

To provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the situation, I kindly request that the district manager contact me at your earliest convenience. I believe a detailed discussion of the events will allow for a fair assessment of the situation and help implement any necessary corrective actions.

Golden Corral No service and bland food.

We had not eaten at Golden Corral, 1835 N. Dixie Hwy., Elizabethtown, KY 42701, for quite some time, when we dined there on Mon., Nov. 20, 2023, at 5:20 pm for $34.90. There were no servers to slice the steak and turkey, nor anyone behind the counter to ask, even though we checked several times. There was a lot of loud talking going on back in the kitchen. We got no steak or turkey, and some of the food we got was just nasty tasting. I could give more info. from the ticket, but the ribbon needed to be changed.

Desired outcome: A $15 refund check. No coupons, please. We do not plan to eat there again.

Golden Corral Playing national anthem when people is eating for free meal.

Playing national anthem when people is eating is totally rude. Food gets cold during it, will just stop eating from that plate and go get a new plate to eat from it if golden corral keeps doing it.

Free veteran day meals, we should be subject to be interrupted while eating for it.

Davenport, iowa 52806 area golden corral.

Free meal is 5-8 pm and they singing/play the nation anthem. Told by other customers at different times that it ended up being 5:15 to 5:30, 6:15 to 6:30 and third time 7:15 to 7:30.

I was there for the one that manager said when they would play at the 6:15 to 6:30 time frame, so got there at 6:50 and oh my next in line they did it again. Don't know if the time manager said was later or what.

Any other info needed be clear on what you are asking for.

Desired outcome: Stop playing national anthem during meals.

Golden Corral Overcharged

my family visited the Golden Corral on Grenelle st raleigh, n.c. on Saturday, September 23rd 2023. Our bill for the 3 of us came to $57.86. I gave the cashier a $50.00 gift card that I purchased at Sam's Club. I then gave him my credit card to cover the $7.86. I noticed on my credit card statement that they charged me for $57.86. I called the store location on 2 differant occasiions and both times the manager said he will look into it and call me back. It's been 10 days sicnce my initial call to them and still have heard nothing. I am not accusing anyone there, but what happened to my $50.00 gift card?. My family has been going to this Golden Corral about 4 times a year for many years when we travel to see our son. I am very disappointed how this is being handled. As much as my family loves the Golden Corral, if we don't get a credit of $50.00 for the gift card that was given, then we will not go back to this restaurant again. I hope to get a response from customer service soon.

Golden Corral Disappointing Experience at Golden Corral: Nasty Bathroom and Gross Food Areas

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Golden Corral. Let me tell you, the bathroom was straight up nasty. I mean, I've been to some pretty gross truck stops in my day, but this was on a whole other level. There was pee and poop all over the place, the sinks weren't working right, and there was toilet paper all over the floor. It was like a horror movie in there.

And don't even get me started on the food areas. It was just as bad, if not worse. There was food all over the counters and floors, and it looked like it had been there for days. I couldn't even bring myself to eat anything, I was so grossed out.

To make matters worse, the staff looked like they were about to keel over from exhaustion. I'm sure they're overworked and underpaid, but that's no excuse for letting the place get so dirty.

Overall, I definitely won't be going back to Golden Corral anytime soon. It's a shame, because I used to really enjoy going there. But after seeing the state of the bathroom and food areas, my stomach turns at the thought of returning. I'd give it a negative 100 rating if I could, but unfortunately that's not an option.

Golden Corral Disappointing Experience at Golden Corral: Poor Customer Service and Questionable Hygiene Practices

Me and my partner drove for almost an hour to get to Golden Corral. When we got there, we noticed that the cashier was itching her hair and then touching the ice scoop and soda cups. It was a bit concerning, but we decided to give it a try anyway.

When we got to the checkout, the cashier told us that they don't accept cards. My fiance is diabetic and needed to eat, so I told her that I don't carry cash. She seemed unsure of what to do and asked her manager for help. The manager told us the same thing, that they don't accept cards, and suggested that we leave the restaurant and go to an ATM.

I was really disappointed with the customer service skills of the staff. They didn't seem to care that we had driven so far and that my fiance needed to eat. It would have been nice if there was a sign on the door or if they had told us before we started eating.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Golden Corral. The customer service was poor and the hygiene practices of the staff were questionable. I hope that my fiance doesn't have a diabetic emergency before we can find somewhere else to eat, especially since we aren't from the area.

Golden Corral Stunning Remodel, Delicious Food, but Unprofessional Manager at Golden Corral #766 in Tampa

I had the pleasure of visiting Golden Corral #766 in Tampa after it had been closed for a while, and I must say, the remodeling was absolutely stunning! The new decor gave the restaurant a fresh and modern look that was very inviting. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff who were all wearing masks and following safety protocols.

The food was delicious and fresh, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the grilled chicken and the mac and cheese, which were both cooked to perfection. The salad bar was also very impressive, with a great selection of fresh vegetables and toppings.

However, my experience was slightly marred by the behavior of the supposed manager, Andrea Sanders. The restaurant was very busy, and one of the young waitresses was struggling to keep up with her tables. While I understand that working under pressure can be difficult, there is no excuse for the way that Ms. Sanders treated her employee. She was rude and disrespectful, and her behavior was completely unprofessional. It was clear that the other customers in the restaurant were also taken aback by her attitude.

I believe that it is important for managers to lead by example and to treat their employees with respect and dignity. Ms. Sanders' behavior was unacceptable, and I hope that the restaurant takes measures to address this issue. Despite this incident, I still enjoyed my meal at Golden Corral and would recommend it to others. The food was excellent, and the staff (with the exception of Ms. Sanders) were all very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Golden Corral Disappointing Experience at Golden Corral: Filthy and Terrible Food

I went to Golden Corral the other day and boy was it an experience! As soon as I walked in, I heard a man yelling at the workers because there wasn't any white meat or anything fresh. I was taken aback and thought about leaving right then and there. But I decided to give it a chance and boy was that a mistake. The food was terrible and the place was filthy! I paid for 6 adults to have a "premium" dinner, but it was anything but premium. I was so disappointed!

I couldn't help but wonder, when did these places go downhill? Why do we still support places like this? The only good thing there was the little piece of steak I had, and my family of course. But other than that, it was a complete disaster. I will never go back to Golden Corral again!

I should have known better. Taco Bell was right next door and even though I'm not a fan of Taco Bell, it was looking really good compared to Golden Corral. So my advice to you is don't waste your money!

I also feel really sorry for the workers. I'm happy they have a job, but I feel bad that they have to listen to customers complain all day. It's not their fault that the food is terrible and the place is filthy.

Overall, I would not recommend Golden Corral to anyone. It was a terrible experience and I regret going there.

Golden Corral Disappointing Service at Golden Corral: Lack of Attention and Response from Staff

I went to Golden Corral today to have my meal and drink my soda. After about 30 minutes, no waters showed up in our area. I saw two floor supervisors and approached them to tell them that we've had no waitress in our area for the past 30 minutes. They gave no response. So, I went to the cashier and asked for a supervisor, and a lady there said she was. I told her my situation, but she was just as indifferent as the two I had approached on the floor.

The time I spent at Golden Corral was not a good experience. I've always been a generous tipper, but the last two times I left no tip. I will not be back. As a veteran, I see about 500 veterans over a year, and there's always instant communication between veterans. I won't be promoting Golden Corral.

I was disappointed with the service at Golden Corral. It's important to have good service when you're dining out, and unfortunately, that was not the case. The lack of response from the floor supervisors and the cashier supervisor was concerning. It's important to have attentive staff who can address customer concerns.

I hope that Golden Corral can improve their service in the future. As a veteran, I appreciate good service and attention to detail. I won't be recommending Golden Corral to my fellow veterans or anyone else. It's important to have a positive dining experience, and unfortunately, that was not the case at Golden Corral.
