Last week I had to have the service dept change my low beam headlight bulb for my 2014 Acadia. I was shocked to learn that it would cost me $300 for the piece and $80 for the service. Why would you make a light bulb that costs $300 ? My vehicle is only 5 years old. How many more times will it have to be replaced at $300?
Also, the service dept said it had to take my bumper off to do it ? . Where is the engineering dept. that caused such a mess up? Don't they plan ahead? so that service dept. doesn't have to make such a bizarre plan of action to replace one light bulb!
This cost is ridiculous. Your engineering dept. should pay the bill.

2018 chevrolet silverado duramax
Ed Hoffman 525 Odum Dr Hubert NC [protected]. I have 19000 miles on my vehicle and has broken down on me three times, the 1st time towing a 14k 5th wheel and the truck started bucking and lost all power in traffic. Al the gauges went haywire and we were almost in an accident. We made it to the side of the rode where we where able to call Stevenson Chevrolet to have it towed. They could not fix the problem and gave me back the vehicle. This happened again on my way home from work last month and a car almost rear ended me as I lost power and I was able to drive it to the dealership. Again they told me it had computer errors but could not find the cause. They gave me back the vehicle and it happened again pulling out of a parking lot in Wilmington NC. Took it back and they could see the error on the computer but have not fixed the problem. I have told them that the vehicle is dangerous to drive and that I would take another vehicle for in its place. I owe 49500 and they were only going to give me 41k for it and I don't believe I should have to pay 9k to get rid of a vehicle that is unsafe to drive. They have a 2019 Duramax on the lot which I would buy but not have to pay to get rid of mine.
l4 2.4l 4 cylinder engine public safety defect
I am deeply concerned that GM is once again exhibiting negligence in putting cost savings / profit above public safety equivalent to the Infamous GM Ignition Switch recall situation in the recent past.
Reference the below background information on GM's L4 - 2.4L 4 Cylinder Engines:
Please reference Document ID: 4821148 #12313D: Special Coverage - Engine Balance
Chain and Fuel Pump - (June 6, 2017)
This special coverage bulletin was provided by my mechanic at Midas and a GM Dealership from the http://alldatapro.com website.
Special extended warranty repairs are supposed to be covered via this bulletin for 120, 000 miles or 10 years for GM Vehicles that have the L4 Engine including the 2011 Buick Regal. My 2011 Buick Regal is definitely exhibiting all symptoms / problems that are well known with the General Motors L4 - 2.4 L Four Cylinder Engine.
See information below about oil consumption and engine performance symptoms:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/research/seven-engines-to-avoid-like-the-plague/ar-AAvZ7VM#page=3
"Seven Engines to Avoid like The Plague
Mark Toljagic 4/16/2018
General Motors 2.4-L Four Cylinder
Problem Engines
© Provided by Toronto Star Newspapers Limited Problem Engines
The redesigned 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and all-new GMC Terrain crossovers were big sellers - until owners began reporting the base 2.4-L four-cylinder engine eating itself after the timing chain stretched and jumped the gear teeth. Plenty of timing chains, camshaft actuators and entire engines have been replaced, sometimes more than once. Beware if your four-cylinder Chevy Equinox/ GMC Terrain / Buick LaCrosse & Buick Regal starts chugging like an old Massey-Ferguson tractor.
A class-action lawsuit alleges the four-cylinder engine consumes as much as a litre of oil per 1, 600 km travelled in 2010-2017 models. Some may be candidates for new pistons and piston rings. On models built before March 2011, there is a strong correlation between leaking high-pressure fuel pumps diluting the oil and resulting ring wear.
Dealers use an oil consumption test to measure wear: if a quart (0.95 L) disappears in under 3, 200 km, the engine is considered defective. Some owners have documented a quart or liter of oil lost in as little as 600 km. Dealers will replace the four piston assemblies. The top compression ring in the rebuild kit has a more robust coating and the updated fuel pump has an improved seal."
I am a former GM Powertrain Division Engineering / Salaried employee where I had a 20 year career background with engines and transmissions. The L4-2.4L Engine is a known safety hazard as the engine can fail while under normal operation on a highway or city street with potential catastrophic results. Even with the mechanic OE bulletin referenced above, GM refuses to cover expenses for permanent repairs for the 2011 Buick Regal. Instead Dealership customer service representatives are instructing vehicle owners to just add oil frequently. (Note: The Low Oil Indicator is also defective.)
Please also reference the Class Action Law suit below:
https://www.classaction.org/media/berman-et-al-v-generalmotors-
llc-joint-notice-of-settlement.pdf
GM Corporation Customer Service (Myra), Professional Mechanics, and GM's Dealership Service Centers (Buick and Cadillac) all are fully aware of the catastrophic safety consequences that this Engine poses to the general public; yet, a comprehensive recall and appropriate extended warranty coverage is being denied.
The L4 2.4 Liter Four Cylinder engine is a fatal accident waiting to happen. Sadly, GM Business / Customer representatives ("Myra" is the only name provided on GM / Buick customer service line) are sweeping this issue under the carpet, sacrificing public safety for cost savings as only VIN #s that actively participated in the class action law suit are covered by the Special Warranty Coverage Bulletin instead of all vehicles with this problematic and unsafe engine in order to mitigate cost impact to the company executives.
Apparently, General Motors Leadership has forgotten that it was the general public / taxpayers that bailed out the corporation from bankruptcy and is willing to sacrifice their well being for the sake of future cost savings and executive bonuses...
gm product today
Why is it on this gm site, it shows only has 4 resolved items / complaints out of over 1174 or more issues / complaints?
This is a gm site, owned and maintained by "gm"?
Hopefully people / future customers will take note of this incompetency before making their next purchase of a gm product!
I know I have, and will not be purchasing another gm product! Ever!
I asked j d powers if they ever view this site and if I could submit a review for gm products. (on a gmc sierra denali)
Jd power [censored] said their reviewers are "selectively / selected / picked", (that tells you a lot about jd powers assessment process) and I wasn't allowed to give my assessments of gm products, even thou I have been a gm purchaser / owner for nearly 40 yrs.
nav update canada.
I find it totally robbery to have to pay 400$ for a disc. Why do I have to purchase from USA and pay another 85$ for shipping? 250$ for a disc. This is totally robbery! For the love of God GM protect your customers from this type of Robbery!
Why would GM of Canada allow this? Then I speak to a CSR and she told me to use my phone or sign up for onstar! Unbelievable totally unacceptable to train your employees to treat your customers in this fashion. I have been a proud owner of a Buick since 1982 but let me tell you NEVER AGAIN! so now I have a lovely Buick with a navigation system that is useless to me unless I pay 400$ for an update. I can't believe that GM is allowing this to happen.

buick lacrosse 2013 power steering
I purchased a used 2013 Buick Lacrosse 2-1/2 months ago for my 19-year-old daughter. While she was driving, the power steering stopped working and she was unable to steer. The wheel locked up! Thankfully, she was able to get the car to a safe location and no one was hurt. Due to the GM strike, it took 3 weeks to find a new part (rack and pinion/steering control module). This repair was $2, 600! This has been a huge financial burden on us and has created fear and uncertainty in the mind of my young driver when driving this car! I am aware there are many other people out there with the same power steering problem. These vehicles should be recalled and I should be reimbursed.
2014 gmc terrain windshield wipers stop working
I was on the Highway(Florida's on 10/9/19 doing about 65 mph in a massive Florida rain storm when all of the sudden my windshield wipers completely stop working. I got off the road almost causing a multiple car accident in the middle of rush hour. I got out of the car and pushed the wipers down thinking they were just stuck or something, but no nothing, restarted the car still nothing (could hear the motor trying to work). I was stranded on the side of the road for over an hour, pregnant, hungry and in need of a bathroom. I finally make it home just before the rain starts again and start researching the cause, only to find out that GMC has known about these issues but only issued recalls on this year's model for Canada, really! This is unacceptable and you should be ashamed of yourselves, this should be recalled for all 2014 GMC Terrains no matter what Country you live in before somebody dies.

2015 chevrolet z71
I bought this vehicle new in 2015. Recently the paint has started peeling on the cab roof right above the windshield. I've taken it to the dealership where I bought it. They took pictures and sent in to GM. I was told GM would cover $700 and I'd owe $800. I have a hard time believing GM won't stand behind a product that is only 4 years old. I've owned Fords, Dodges, Pontiacs, and never had a problem with the paint. I believe GM should make it right by fixing the product I paid good money for!
My truck is 3 years old and my heater has gone out. They want $2000 to repair. The part it needs is $80. I don't think I should pay a dime for this repair. Heater going out on a 3 year old truck? Been deal with them since Thanksgiving. I really hope they can resolve this soon.
You did better than me my truck doing the same and GM will not pay anything
carlisle gmc, waxahachie, tx.
Hello, my name is William Betzer. I bought a new gmc sierra slt 4x4 z71 texas edition in june of 2018 as of today I have 11, 790 miles on it. In november of 2018 I went out to my truck to go to work and passenger mirror did not fold out I tried the button several times on the way to work it stayed folded up. I called the dealership and made an appointment to have it looked at but after work that same day it worked so I called dealership and they said if it is working we cannot repair it to bring it in when it wasn't working so periodically it stays folded inI put up with it for 11 months now and today I had a dr. appointment and when I wentout this morning it was folded in so I drove it to dr. appointment then to Carlisle Chevrolet wshowed them it was folded up they offered me a ride home thenthey went out to truck and hit the button 4 or 5 times the sevice writer told me it works fine and my tech is going to try it a few times and release truck no problem found. When I told him it was folded in when I got here he said It looked like someone folded it up with their hand and jammed it I informed him no I used the switch to fold it in when I parked it at home he started argueing with me I took my truck and went home because I had already explained the problem is intermittant. my email address is [protected]@msn.com and my phone # is [protected] thankyou.
I would appreciate any help in this matter and I also purchased 100 thousand mile extended warranty. I am currently searching for another dealership to service my vehicle because I never wish to return to Carlisle GMC for anything. Thankyou!
information provided as "normal operations" for my new vehicle
I purchased a CPO 2017 Camaro 2LT at this dealership at the end of July with only 45 miles on this car. It will be back for service next week for the 3rd attempt to fix water leaking from under the dash onto the gas pedal. 1st time said no leaks detected, 2nd time applied butyl around the HVAC EVAP tubes. Leaked once again and was told the interior duct work is building condensation and this is normal operations for my car. Also the recirculation actuator was replaced due to the sputtering and loud knock noise that happened every time the ac is turned on and off that the noise is now a bit better and this is as well normal operation of my new car.
This is the advisement they claim to have received by contacting TAC at GM.
To add in addition now the Service Rear Vision System is appearing on the infotainment system screen and the rear camera engaged twice while in "D".
Would you pay $30, 000 for a brand new vehicle and expect these issues and especially the response this is normal operations?
This is my first Chevrolet I have ever purchased and will be my last.
Here I am again with an issue with my 2016 Silverado Crew Cab LTZ Z71. It had 40, 000 km when I had my first issue with the HMI module failing. Leaving me with no radio, GPS, back up camera and a $1200.00 bill. My current issue is with the third brake light on the roof leaking into the passenger compartment in the rear. Resulting in a huge water stain on the headliner that I doubt I will be able to get out. Who knows what other issues may arise from the water penetrating the cabin. Brought it to the dealer and it is going to be $350.00 to fix. I take care of my vehicles and it is very frustrating when issues occur because manufactures use cheap or faulty parts. I understand parts wear out over time. But a three year old vehicle should not be leaking. GM needs to own up to fact they used low quality parts and start taking care of their customers, and hold their suppliers accountable for the parts they provide. Or they may find themselves in financial trouble again. I am seriously thinking of getting rid of this vehicle before I get soaked for more of my family's hard earned money. I won't be looking at GM's anytime soon.
headlight for 2014 c7 stingray corvette
I have a 2004 chevy corvette and I purchased a 2014 chevy corvette c7 stringray. (Both purchased new) Recently a deer cracked my drivers headlight on the 2014. I have not been able to find a headlight anywhere. Found a after mark one, did not even fit the area of the light. I am so disappointed and discussed the GM. I am wanted to by a 2000 corvette, but with this happening I am having second thoughts.
I can not understand why there are no headlight available. could you explain why I bought an $80, 000 automobile to find no parts 5 years later?

catalytic converter
Check engine light came on in my 2015 chevy trax, dealer states it needs a catalytic converter which is a common problem on these car but isn't covered by warranty due to the mileage which is 50000 miles. I have owned many gm vechicles and have never had a problem with a cataylic converter before! I'm also in the market for a 2020 pick up that's going to cost $60000 and if this is how i'm treated I will have to buy a ford!
service from champion chevrolet johnson city, tn
My GPS went out in my 2014 GMC Sierra so i brought it to Champion Chevrolet to have it repaired, It was there for almost a week, which i have no problem with. They said they had to order the part. They called me on September the 24th and informed me the truck was ready. I went to pick up the truck and everything was fine. I tried to enter a address and it would not respond. I called ON-Star using my blue button and it said that the service had been canceled and i informed them i never canceled the service. The advisor could not get the system to work and told me it would take a while to come up. So i went home. Well today(Sept 26th) i decided to call On- Star again and this time they had to set up a new account and i agreed even thought i have 2 years worth of bank statements showing i have always paid them. The system did come up on my GMC app. after looking at my GMC phone app i realized i had 2
2014 GMC trucks listed on my account. So i called them back and informed them i only had 1 GMC however the VIN number did not match my truck, ON-STAR at that point informed me the 700 dollar part that was installed in my truck was a used module from another 2014 GMC truck. Since when did Chevrolet start using used parts and charging the customer fulll price for the part. Heres the best part i will have to pay ON-STAR for both trucks and i dont even own the other 2014. I can tell you the other truck is black and how i know this is this, a brand new module has a VIN number assigned to it when it is installed and once that number is assigned it cannot be changed. There fore i just got taken advantage of. So i either have to cancel ON-STAR or pay for 2 trucks. Or better yet how about having a brand new module installed that i paid for so the correct VIN number can be assigned to it. ON-STAR case number is [protected]. I have been a HARDCORE Chevrolet man for 40 years and this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Truck VINS 1GTR1VEC9EZ239716 my truck, used 2014 truck part VIN 3GTU2VEC9EG118465. Champion Chevrolet number 423-218-1392. If you need a copy of the dealership ticket i have that too. My phone number is [protected] Darriel Steedman

chevy silverado 2009 vin : 1gc ek1907 9z290657
We purchased our Che Silverado club cab in 2013. It was in excellent shape and had 51, 000 km. We knew the owner and he had not abused the vehicle.
We have driven it until 151, 000 km. about a month ago when the engine light came on. We replaced minor items such as spark plugs and coil. It came back as a problem with cylinder #8. The GM dealer in Melfort, Sask. attempted to diagnose the problem, but after over $300.00 we asked them to stop as they seemed no closer to the problem. We took it to a mechanic shop where we had confidence. We learned that the problem was an internal engine issue after all normal diagnose was eliminated. After going internal it was learned that the lifters and camshaft were the problem. We were advised to install a rebuilt engine. We had a rebuilt engine (Baan Powertrain) installed at the cost of $6377.35 that included parts and plus labour $2629.00 and taxes 991.12.
In our research we learned from several mechanic shops that this was a common problem with the 5.3 litre engines the GM and Chev trucks. All indicated that Chev should be assisting in some reimbursement as these trucks should have been recalled for this flawed motor. With that knowledge we are turning to you for reimbursement for what portion your company will assume. The vehicle now has 157, 800 km. and we intend to drive this vehicle for some distance.
We await your reply.
Thank you
lifter problem...very common, GM won't admit it or assist in cost. See my other post
service
Received coupon for $50 oil change, tire rotation. This has to be done fast to make any money but intent is to bring people in and CREATE additonal services. Upon leaving my tire inflation guide comes on to tell me tires are not inflated and shows two very low. I pull into a parking lot and check with my own guage which shows OK but not proper inflation rate of 35#. I call dealership and am told they forgot to calabrate when rotated. We had to evacutate next day and my wife was very nervous as the cpu kept coming on saying tires were low. I had not had a chance to explain to her what had happened as she left traffric to find a station where someone checked tires for her and said they were OK. I go back to dealer a week later to have them recalabrate and service manager tells me a sensor was BAD and it would be about $100 to replace. I said they were all fine prior to rotating, was pissed and left. Next day I'm explaing to someone who knows something about mechanics and he says wait a few days and CPU will self correct which it did. I've had problems in the past with this dealership and lights coming on soon after a service. They tried to get me to do a wheel alignment a few years ago based on some device checkint my tires while in the staging area. I told her look at the way the tires a re seraing after 40K miles! Why would I need an alignment? My tires were wearing perfectily! Venting. Don't trust this dealership. Also, have spent ab out 6K in repaires on my 2012 Terrain SLT. AC problems, 3 batteries to date, fuel inhduction problem, bad automatic seat switch, exaust solenoid problem, intake camshaft solenoid, HVAC actuator problem, Starting system problem, replaced tire sensor (I've learned didn't hav to do) All totaled about 4K in repairs to date on a car that is maintained every 6 k miles or so. with easy use, garaged, about 130K miles to date. Looking at a KIA next car!
2019 buick envision
On August 17th I purchased a new 2019 Envsion from Drivers Village 5885 Cir Dr E, Cicero, NY 13039, It had 115 miles on it, However before I took it home the rear tire was low on pressure which I found on my Buick ap, So the dealer checked all and put air in the tires . On the way home I felt a vibration in the vehiicle, NOt thinking nothing of it thought maybe it was because it was sitting, On august 19th I called and scheduled a service appt for august 23, I took the car back into the dealer which is 72 miles one way from home, The service tech drove it along with 2 other and said they could not feel anything, I told them I would not have wasted my time if I did not think something was wrong They told me to wait until it had 1000 miles on it because gm would not cover it. If I wanted them rotated and balanced I would have to pay for it myself.
On September 2oth I returned the car to the dealership as it now had 1063 miles. I left it as they gave me a car to drive, They stated the two of the 4 tires were out of balance which they could of found the first time. I picked up the car on the 24th and they stated it was all fixed, I drove home down the highway and low and behold there is still an issue, I can feel the vibration still in the vehicle after they rotated and balanced the tires. driving home between 50 and 73 MPH I called the sales Manager on the way home and the service department and spoke to Megan in Service and left a message for MrOrtiz to call me asap. It is now 732 pm and no phone call.
I do not want to make another payment on this until this car is fixed or they can give me another one or new tires and wheels all the way around as there is definately an issue. When you pay 48k for a vehicle this should not be the case now It has to go back in again. I am not driving it up there, They can either fix it here in Cortland or come get it on a flat bed. Attached you will find the service records
I am not a happy Customer..

2019 buick encore
On picking up ym 2019 encore the OnStar did not work. July 9 2019. Took it in following week and Dealership replaced modules over and over again with brand new ones, used ones that were working but not in my car. I have had a loaner for 2 weeks this time but have had others of and on over the past 7 weeks. Now into 7th weeks a engineer from GM is supposedly coming tomorrow to look at the radio.
I have spoken to GM ambassadors a number of times and asked for a replacement as the car has less than 1000 km. Lots of sweet talk but no replacement vehicle. I have no confidence in this vehicle to me it may be electrical and/or a computer issues so who knows what can go wrong or when.
Can I get a ombudsman involved or an intermeditor who will resolve this disaster.
question please: 2018 chevy equinox
Good Morning,
I purchased a 2018 Equinox recently and one of the features is the auto starter. It is convenient to push the button and start the car. What isn't convenient is that it idles
down at a stop sign and shuts off. While I understand it does probably save gas, it is
very inconvenient. Is there anyway that can be changed on my car? That is the only feature I don't like. Since so much is programmed electronically, can a quick entry
at the dealership, change it so it does not shut off at stop signs/lights? This is my second Equinox that I purchased and love it. Please let me know.
Sincerly
Richard Hobbs
2019 Traverse
I. Ve had my new traverse 7 months now. I bought it to replace my 2013 traverse. I love it except for one thing... The engine auto-shut off feature when I come to a stop. True, it may be a fuel saving feature, but it's also a pain in the *. Please devise a fix or something that permits people to disable this feature. My dealer says there is nothing he can do at this time. I hate it sooooo much i'm thinking of selling my traverse, getting something different
healthcare benefits
So I hear from reliable sources that you have quit paying your portion of the health care benefits for your employees who are presently on strike. This is a despicable decision on your part. Your ceo gets paid over 20 million a year. And you didn't even pay federal taxes last year.
I guess i'll have to kiss that new silverado pu truck good by. My previous gm truck, that I just junked, had over 304, 000 miles on it, and I loved it greatly. But I will not buy from a corporation that will pull such a despicable and inhumane move on its employees. They make your cars and trucks. They do the actual work of producing your products. You have to be blind, deaf and dumb to make such a move, upon your employees and their families.
