My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

The website is poorly laid out and does not give enough information to make clear choices. When I thought I was setting my auto-payment up to pay according to the schedule, I ended up choosing an option that caused the full balance to be paid on the first payment. That defeats the purpose of financing. Since I didn't have a credit card statement yet and the website didn't show me my balances or what a "minimum monthly payment" would be, I was guessing as to which payment option to choose.

When I called to complain, they were unhelpful. Obviously they rely on creating this confusion in customers to extract a little extra cash without extending credit.

I bought a wedding ring for 7k paying 4k cash and wanting to finance 3k so the jeweler set up an account with GE money, they set up the account for 3k on a 90 day no interest. I didn't think about that until the 90 days were up and i had only paid $300. then the interest kicked in and it put me over the limit which added fees, now making minimum payments i owe 3900.00 a year and a half later. Why would they set the limit for exactly what i wanted to finance? I guess i am one of the suckers that doesn't read fine print.

On 08-04-2008 I received a statement stating a balance of $4328.53 . The next statement09-04-2008 had a balance of $4328.53 and a due date of 09-29-2008. They were called for a payoff and 4287.52 was credited to the account. On 08-16-2008 a payment of 144.00 was credited. The new balance of -102.99 was reflected. They were quick to charge a late fee and raise my interest rate, I closed the account a year ago so I could not use it. They were so quick to burn me, so why did they send me another statement with a minus balance. They should just send me the balance and quit playing games and being stupid.

GE MONEY IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY. I SIMPLY WANTED TO PAY MY PAYPAL CREDIT CARD BALANCE AND THEY WOULD NOT TAKE MY VISA CARD AS A PAYMENT METHOD - INSTEAD THEY INSISTED I GIVE THEM MY BUSINESSES BANK ACCT. INFO TO PAY IT ... GE had to replace our 2002 refrigerator doors because of a mositure problem this was in response to a lawsuit. The doors were replaced and a short time after the water dispensor started freezing up. We had a heater installed and as of 2010 the water dispensor is not working. GE offered a credit towardsa new refrirgator of a 400.00 to relace the doors. The problem with these doors has still not been resolved. Why would I want a credit towards another GE rpoduct when their products are failing.

I received a call at work (from someone who could not speak English) regarding a payment that was make electronically over 20 days ago. I told the person I would have my bank fax them confirmation of payment. Response "we don't have a fax number, you will have to mail confirmation of the payment to El Paso". I asked if the late fees assessed incorrectly would be waived "no". WRONG! I called the bank, they faxed me the verification that the payment had been made. I had to send the confirmation to a difference PO Box in El Paso (where no one speaks English); it cost me $4.60 to send it by priority mail. I called their customer service number. "Due to high call volumes you may experience long wait periods". Really? Why, I wonder why they are experiencing high call volumes. No one speaks English and they can't read electronic transfers and post them to the write account! What a bunch of jerks!

My Meijers charge card in now 6 months old. The problem is when I opened up the card I told the woman to look on the back for my current address. I have lived at this address for 2 years. My license inst ready to renew so it is listed on the back. I filled out the forms using my correct address. Telling the customer clerk at the 13 mile and mound warren store to look on back three times for correct address. Should I of been amazed she didn't get it? Little to say the monthly statements kept going to my old address of 2 years ago. I had to keep calling to get a statement sent to my current address. I would forget to call to remind them to send me a statement to my home. If I was late calling or if I forgot to call and I called past the statement due date. They put interest on my card. I was so upset with them. I have a credit score of 750 and I am never late paying my bills. It shouldn't have to be up to me to keep calling them to send it to the right place. I should of know first off when they sent the charge card itself to the wrong address. Isn't that nice sending a charge card to a wrong address on people! Then my other complaint is that every time I do call I get someone that cant speak english very good at all! They get upset with me cause I cant understand them! English is not even my first language! The fact is no one even knows I can speak German or spanish! Press one for spanish! In america! Shouldn't it be press one for english! Nope we now have to learn Arab, indian, asian, Only in America it seems---soon there will be no america everyone wants to come here cause they love this country but yet they dont leave the one they left behind in the first place.. if there land was so great whey did they leave. Talk about getting slapped in the face americans... if one leaves their country to come to a better one, what good is it going to do if they come here and complain and want and start to change our country into one just like theirs. Go figure.

I just submitted a complaint about car repair bills that were financed by GE Money Bank. I forgot to mention that their policy on the back of their statement states that even if the payment is mailed to an incorrect office it will be posted within 5 days. The branch manager of the credit union read them their statement and basically they said they can only post the check if they received it. He read the return receipt to them and they said they did not receive the cashiers check and so it could not have been posted to our account and that is that.

ON 01/04/10 I PAID THE BAL OF 695.10 ON MY ACCT SO THAT I WOULDN'T OWE PROMOTIONAL FEES. I HAD ALREADY PAID 6, 000 TWO DAYS PRIOR TO THAT. THE COMPANY IS NOW TELLING ME MY ROUTING NUMBER FOR THE BANK WAS INCORRECT. THE ACCT NUMBER WAS RIGHT BUT NOT THE RTG. THE RTG NUMBER BELONGED TO THE ACCT I USED TO PAY THE 6, 000. WHEN I SUBMITTED THE PMT ONLINE, THE PAYMENT TOOK AND SHOWED AS BEING PROCESSED. I RECEIVED NO MESSAGE STATING THAT THERE WAS WAS AN ERROR. THEY ALSO HAVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS, NO ONE CONTACTED ME ASKING FOR THE CORRECT INFORMATION. BUT THEY WERE SURE TO TACT ON A 39.99 FEE FOR RETURNED CHECK AND A 390.00 FEE FOR PROMOTIONAL FEES NOT PAID BY 01/04/10. IT WAS AN HONEST ERROR AND I HAD ALREADY PAID 6, 000 . MY ACCOUNT WAS IN GOOD STANDING. I HAD NEVER GIVEN THEM A BAD CHECK. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT TOLD ME IT MY MISTAKE AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THIS MAKES MAKES ME TOTALLY SICK. THE REALLY SAD THING IS THAT I'M AT THEIR MERCY. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!

I want to know why GE Bank is allowed to continue to get away with this.
A friend of mine owns a music store and I recently purchased an instrument there. Against my better interest, I didn't use my credit card or cash whne he suggested this 6 month-same-as-cash. Which I did. It turned out to be GE Money Bank.
My first payment, I made online as weeks went by and I received no statement. The payment showed, yet, it never came out of my bank account. So I checked back on the GE wesbsite and my balance was higher. They reversed my payment, claiming I had entered my bank info incorrectly (you have to enter it twice, and since I had read about this as one of their tactics, I checked each entry, ALSO, my bank name came up after I entered the numbers, so I KNOW it was correct.) AND there was a $39 fee. I also printed EVERYTHING.
So, I called them ( a whole other story), you get a call center, with someone who cannot help you, they wil ltell you that YOU entered the info incorrectly and will not take off the extra fee. It was when i called back, stating I had proof of the correct info did he SAY he would remove the fee.

Again, I want to know why this bank is getting away with this and what recourse we have.
Thank You.

I attempted to make my first payment online to avoid the ridiculous charges you are requird to pay for speaking to a human. I looked for an hour and a half for the actual website to make the payment. I was directed to other search engines when I typed in the address.
I called a representative finally and told her my problem. She was useless and told me "it must be my computer because she was able to get on the site." I then told her the whole purpose of this charade was to avoid paying extra money and now I'm going to be late on my bill because I wasn't able to post it before 5pm. What have I gotten myself into!

I am a young highschool/ now college student. I needed dental work and had no insurance. The dentist signed me up for a credit line thru GE MONEY BANK. For $150. in charges I am now up to almost 1k. GE Money bank calls me on a regular basis 6-8 times A DAY. I finally talked to a young man who set me up taking money from my bank account on an escalating fee. He assured me that I would be paid off in a years time. As I am a younger person, and not saavy in being stuck, I assumed all was well. The money seemed to be coming from my account and the phone calls stopped. For six months. Then I get an alarming call from a collection agency - Arrowhead collection demanding almost 1k. When I asked them why and for what they told me they didn't know just that they were told to get this money. They had no access to GE MONEYBANKS records. Just that they want the money. It should be known that the collection firm isn't even in the US. In any event, in order to try and clear this up, I called GE MONEYBANK today just to be told that as it is in collection there is nothing more they can do for me. I asked them to send me a printout of all of our written and verbal communication, which they said they cannot do unless it is in writing.

I am sending this today - but from what is posted on GOOGLE, blatant for all to see, they probably will not respond to this as well.

Can anyone help me with this dilemma? Is there anything that protects consumers from this or is this yet another documented proof that the Credit card companies in this country have totally bought their way into the lawmakers of this Country who no longer are for the people but are for the Credit Card people?

After I was mysteriously locked out of using GE Money’s online account services to pay my bill, I have been unable to get anyone at the company to provide me with an answer as to what the problem may be. I have been told by at least 5 different Indian based customer service representatives that “my account is under review.” Here’s the rub, I really only want pay my account off as the balance is low. Now I’m concerned because I’ve not received my latest statement in the mail. And after reading some of the other complaints on various websites about GE Money, I’m beginning to think they engage in dubious business practices. Is this is what Jeffrey Immelt had in mind when he decided to ship customer service offshore. Nice work!

I was a victim of identity theft in 2007. A chevron credit card was part of this. In 2007 I reported to Chevron, have a letter removing debt, In 2011 the was reported to the credit agencies as negative outstanding debt, dropping my credit score. No phone number is listed. GE in Texas claims they know nothing. I need help getting this off my credit report

I got the 12 months same as cash on an install by Empire Carpets. Since I didn't pay it off in the 12 month period, I now owe the full amount, plus finance charges and the finance charges are also being added monthly on top of the initial set of finance charges. That's double finance charges being assessed! I can't seem to get ahead of this with the outrageous finance charges being applied monthly, even when I make huge payments of $1000.00 at a time!

On top of this, they are sending me out another dispute letter to fill out, this will be the third, and keep telling me that they never got the first two! I don't even want them to reduce the debt, I just want the floors I had installed fixed!

I will never use GE Money Bank OR Empire Carpets again!

First off--they have a rating of A+ with the BBB (Better business bureau)- the only way to make these people change the way they work is to file complaints with the BBB. The more complaints they make, the more it will reflect negatively on them and the more people will know what a MOB-LIKE BUSINESS they are!

I sent 9 bill payments (all due by the 20th) in through the mail on the 6th of the month. All but GE Moneys was received and cashed withing 10 days. GE Money didn't cash the check for 20 days! Then they charged me a late fee AND raised my APR three times what it started at! They then told me that I had to prove that I sent in the check when I said I did and that there was no way to do that so I was screwed. Even thought I had copies of all the other bills that were paid at the same time and cashed by the companies within 10 days, they refused to work with me at all! On top of that- they friggin hung up on me because I was so upset and yelling at them!

Opened a PayPal Buyer's credit Account which until recently was handled by PayPal directly and then purchased by GEMoney Bank. Payments were always due the end of the months so I set up automatic payments thru online banking. Very much to my surprise, I got hit with a hefty late fee = $39 since all over sudden the payment was due on the 25th of the months. Called but was told 'too bad, that's the way it is'!

Used my Brandsource credit card to purchase new washer with free financing for 1 year. Payment due on the 1rst of the month but was changed to 25th. Again hefty late fee and now a finance charge of $1.50 every months although I paid the late fee off plus my regular payment. GE Money Bank will not remove the finandce fee and can not explain WHY it is added each month.

Lowe's Visa Credit also ended up with GE Money Bank. Credit Limit 5000, no balance, as a matter of fact, balance was always paid off with 2-3 months. New credit limit $240 with NO expalanation.

Bottom line - stay away from GE Money Bank!

I needed some dental work back in November 2006. My dentist recommended that I get a Care Credit: GE Money Bank card. I was in such pain, I said do it. Every month they have changed my due date so that they can charge me $29.00 in late fees! So if my bill is due the 19th, I pay the $30.00 min. they ask for on the 14th and then when I look again at online statement, they have already changed it to due date of 13th! So then I get charged $29.00! Also, I have a MO stub for one month when I tried paying through mail. It was purchased and sent on the 5th and they say they did not get it until the 24th (conveniently, one day AFTER bill was due!). I called and was told that, "It is not up to us how quickly mail gets here"! BEWARE!

GE Money Bank, a division of GE, receives Bail out funds and pays Zero Taxes in 2010 but will charge you 29.99% on your principal. To some families that could be devastating. Just by asking their reps they feel they are totally justified. What kind of person does that take?
I paid in $100 per month on their recommendation for over 20 months only to discover only $360 was applied to principal.

They can be reached at [protected] if you wish you voice your displeasure

My name is Rebecca Bandy and I'm 17. Today I went to cash my check at Walmart on Causeway Blvd., and the lady said that it would be better to put my money on a debit card. I did this thinking that it would be safer than carrying around my whole check (which is 300.00). I put most of my check on this and bought it.

I was told that it as soon as it activated I would be able to use it. But when I went online to activate it said that I needed to call and have my legal guardian present, which was not a problem, my mother spoke with the representative, we gave all of the needed information then were told that our information was not valid, we tried several times, rechecked our information. We were not mistaken. When we tried to explain this we were told that I would be getting a refund in about a month, and it could take longer.

I work and get paid every two weeks and I can't afford to go a month without getting paid. I was not planning to go on a shopping spree nor anything else irresponsible. I am saving for college and can't afford to be giving hundreds of dollars to multi million dollar corporations whenever they feel like keeping my money. It is states on the packet that the pre-paid card comes in "Your temporary Walmart MoneyCard Visa is activated for immediate use everywhere you can swipe your Visa Card with in the United States, as well as online, by mail or over the phone. "

I have called the card's distributer, Walmart Corporate, and the MoneyCard's customer service several times have not been helped in anyway nor have my mother and I been able to contact a supervisor because it is apparently impossible to speak to the head of any of the divisions. We have been on the phone for hours and are still not getting anywhere.

Can you believe that I'm just now seeing what an incompetent, poorly managed company this must be. I just got a call from customer service representatives of GE Money Bank last night after 4 months. It started out with me opening an account to get my transmission repaired. The terms of the agreement included a 90-day same as cash. One month after opening this account I still had no card, no bill, no calls. I returned to the repair shop and got the customer service # but was told that I did not exist in their system. I went through the same scenario 2 more times at 6 weeks and 2 months after originally opening this account. Finally I receive a call from them that nearly $400 in charges were added to my original $2400 bill because I failed to make payments. I discovered that they had no physical street address on the account so never sent a bill but they are not willing to extend the original terms of the agreement to me. Needless to say I am majority disappointed and would highly discourage any transactions with this company. Furthermore I will immediately close this account once a zero balance is shown, never to do business with these incompetent fools again! I am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

1. If I mail in a payment it takes two weeks to process, (as told to me via phone by GE. So, if my dues date is June 15th and I mail in a payment today, (June 2nd), I could get hit with a late fee! In this case, the "statement date " is May 21. I received the bill on May 27. This only leaves a few days to respond.

2. I couldn't get in on line. Typing in the account # right off my statement was "invalid".

3. I used the automated phone service to make my payment. The minimum due AS STATED by the automated system was $200. 14 CENTS SHORT of the actual amount due of $200.14. This happened last month and for being short $o.26, I was charged a $39 late fee.

BTW: GE charges an additional $10 to pay by phone!

They set you up to fail.

GE Money Bank assessed finance charges to my account which were paid in full. I sent a letter with copies of my bank statement showing my payment sent as well as the date my account was debited for the full amount on the bill. GE never responded but sent me another bill with additional finance charges on the finance charge. I called customer service at least 5 times spending hours to talk to each representative who was rude, dropped my call (several times), and refused to let me talk to a supervisor or manager( they just drop my call). I do not have time to waste calling and filing complaints, but this is just so outright outrageous for a big company like GE to be dealing with consumers like this. Someone needs to deal with this so other consumers are not victimized! I filed a complaint with BBB (Better Business Bureau) short of writing to a congressman or lawyer to deal with this. This is just NOT RIGHT - big business taking money they did not earn from the little guys because they can get away with it - hope they get brought to justice.

I'll try to make this short. As a law student, it appealed to me that GE Money CC promised 0%. (No finance charges until I was employed and could make larger payments.)

1. They reduced my credit limit by $6000 all of a sudden for no reason.
2. They began charging me finance charges. When I inquired, they called it a glitch and credited me every month.
3. After several months of me calling every month to fix this "glitch," I was transferred to a supervisor who rudely said the finances charges were due to a late payment. (FIRST TIME IM HEARING ABOUT THIS SO CALLED LATE PAYMENT)
4. Frustrated and unable to communicate with this supervisor, i closed the account.
5. In an attempt to get GE Money out of my life forever, I made a balance transfer which showed up as having gone through.
6. two weeks later, I get a call from GE collections saying that the transfer didn't go through and was charged a late fee AND a bounced check fee.
7. The other financial institution said that GE MONEY rejected their transfer.
8. GE MONEY denied this - and refused to credit me the fees. One rep even accused me of telling a "story."

On top of it all, I cant ever communicate with a customer representative who understands what I am saying!

At 4:15 Monday afternoon (6/16/08) a young man dressed with a blue GE shirt rings the doorbell and without properly introducing himself began asking questions of a financial nature. When I reacted to his aggressive tactics, he became insolent and when I asked him to leave he insulted me using language no salesperson or data collector should. If anyone knows of a supervisor for any company currently collecting customer data in the El Paso area, I would appreciate a heads up. I am not used to being treated disrespectfully, and would appreciate an opportunity to speak my mind to one of his superiors.

On 9/2/2008 I called GE Money Bank and spoke with one of the reps, I asked her about my bill that we paid in full (promotional), because they are still charging me money after I paid my account in full. I was on the phone for about 54 minutes and I was hung up on. The rep that I was talking to was not helpful to me so I asked her to transfer me to some else. She transferred me and that is when they hung up on me. I need to talk with someone about my account. I do not want to cal and get hung up on again! I would appreciate a response.

Thank you,

Whew! Thought we were the only idiots dealing with these people. Purchased a piece of jewelry on a card with a promotional "no interest for a year" deal. Made monthly payments but also purchased 2 more pieces, all from the same store (which, by the way, was the store that offered the credit card application to us.) When the promotional period expired, we received a statement showing an outrageous interest charge. When calculating the charge, they included ALL purchases made on the card when only the original purchase should have been at that rate. Now we're recieving late payment charges and of course, the famous "over limit" charges. Why are we now over our limit? Because of the interest charges! Can't wait to pay this sucker off!

Have several accounts with G.E. Money Bank, some of which were with other companies and then G.E. bought them up. G.E. has lowered the balance on every account without any reason, and with a big increase in pay on my part 3 times the amount that I was making.

They also have done this with no respect to notifying me about what they have done. The accounts have been paid on time and have been paid with more that what is due sometimes by as much as 3-5 times the amount due.

This is not the way to do business

I'm with Ge Money through Care Credit and I have had them for about a year, making all my payments ON TIME and online. My checking account that I was paying by was saved and all I would do is click the "pay" button. A few months ago (they didn't even try to inform me or anything) I got onto my account and noticed that it said I hadn't made a payment. Right away I called to take care of it. The guy said that the checking account number was wrong? But that he would take care of the late fee. I "fixed" it online and then a month later notice my minimum payment went sky high. I called again to ask what had happened. I think it's set in India because no one can understand a damn word I say, but when I asked why my minimum payment was so high she said they raised my APR to 29.9%. I asked her why and she said "everyone's was raised to that". Now I'd like to know if that's true if they jacked up everyone's APR or just mine. And when I read the fine print on my account it said if there were any late payments that that is what it would be raised to. I am so irritated because I have never been late and I think they are screwing me over and I have no proof because it was all electronic. Can anyone help me on what to do? :(

I am reading the complaints that I have found and am shocked that there are so many and all are similar. I too had a CareCredit card for some dental work that I had done and set it up for a monthly automatic payment out of my checking account. GE never ever told me that they had variable payment dates, so unbeknownst to me they were charging me a late charge of $29.99 a month and then zapped me with a huge finance charge of $361. As too with all of you their customer care people basically told me it was my fault and refused to credit the money to me.

I have written their general headquarters and told them that their activities are illegal, but have not heard back from them. This is horrible.

GE French door Refrigerator Freezer, Icemaker in freezer overflows and water enters freezer 2" layer of ice forms on bottom of freezer. The 1st Repair person, 12/17/2010, unfroze the icemaker, thereby treating the symptom and not the problem. Two weeks later problem reoccurred. Placed a second service call 1/6/2011 and had to speak to a supervisor after not getting an acceptable answer. GE Service Protection Advantage got back to me well after 2-3 day certified response time. Finally I was able to get an appt for today 1/23/2011. This morning I received a call from a "dishwasher" repair person, to verify my address. When I told him it was a freezer problem he informed me I had to call the company and inform them that they sent the wrong person, and that maybe there was a refrigerator repairmen also scheduled. I called and found out the A&E Factory Service sent out the wrong person and that they couldn't send someone out until tomorrow, thus requiring me to take off 2 days of work. Again, I needed requested to speak to a supervisor. GE has stepped in and GE is sending a service representative. Getting a high priced appliance repaired shouldn't be this difficult.

I purchased a new GE Monogram built in refrigerator. It had fourteen service calls when the GE repairman stated that it had been wired incorrectly from the factory and was never cooling properly. He said that due to the fact it was a refrigerator only it would be difficult for someone too notice the lack of cooling. The faulty wiring resulted in the box not cooling properly which left too much moisture in the box and now the interior is rusted. GE refused to warranty the box. This is a $3, 000 to $4, 000 box, so my recommendation is buy a Viking or Thermadore as I have seen many that are functioning fine after years of use.

I will not be purchasing any GE products after this experience.

i recently moved into my new home in a suburb, where a dishwasher made by ge was preinstalled. the dishwasher has ruined many of my glasses, dishes, and silverware( very expensive!) by coating them with a white stain, and leaving them feeling like they were scratched! not pleased at all! only 4 of my 40 glasses are untouched, will never purchase a ge appliance in my life! warning everyone else not to as well! i would hate to see all your money go down the drain. ge had better refund me for my expensive glasses and silverware.

I applied for one of these cards but thank goodness I did a lot of research about the use of it before I put anything on my account. I found out from one of the dentist offices that with the card for some providers you can not use the card with your insurance card, that dental work have to be over $500 to use the card and get this one...if you choose a plan to pay off the amount within 3, 6, 12 or 18 months you will have to pay it off in full within that month you choose to get no interest added. However, if you do not pay off your account within the plan you choose after 18 months all 18 months of interests will be added to your account at once at the end of your plan. Mind you if in default the interest rate is at 30%. Imagine 30% of interest for 18 months all tacked on to your account balance at one time.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! GLAD MY RESEARCH PAID OFF. I WILL BE CUTTING UP MY ACCOUNT BEFORE I USE IT.
