approximately a week ago i was verbally harassed as i was checking out by a food lion employee. not only did she threaten me and my child and my dog but she also caused embarassment to me. she decided to tell me that II needed to go straight home after leaving the store because my dog was hot and in the car. if this little girl had known anything she would have known that my child, who is 15 years old, was sitting in the car with adele, my dog, and had ran inside the food lion as i was checking out to ask me if it was okay to walk to the dollar store located next door to the food lion to look for gravel for his new fish tank I had just bought him. He literally had just left my dog for less then two miniutes. If she had even asked me instead of speaking unsolicitated of why my dog was barking she would have known that adele was abused as a puppy and is a rescue. And because of the trama adele was put through as a puppy she has a severe attachment issues. If I leave her for even one minute and she cant see me she pretty much has an anxiety attack. Now, regardless of everything I just said, one needs to know the details of this day. It was very cool outside being it was still august. It was a cool 71 degrees that day and I know this for a fact because before leaving the house i checked the temperature, like I always do, to make sure it wasnt too hot for Adele to sit in the car for a few minutes. I also only went to Food Lion to get one thing, coconut oil. Now, truthfully upon arriving I did end up getting three things. Three things that were all located in one aisle. I purchased coconut oil, coconut milk, and coconut flour. I firmly believe in eating healthy and providing healthy snacks and meals for my family. Now that you understand the context of the situation you can understand why, when checking out after walking around for five minutes, I was very aggitated by Brianna's interrogation. Not at any point was my dog, child, or surrounding people in danger in any way. Adele had a full bowl of water, with crushed ice in it if I might add that I get from Royal Farms everyday just for Adele and every window was completely open. I was also extremely agitated from the interrogation from Brianna because, much to her surprise, I know her outside of Food Lion. She doesn't know me but I know her and I also know her lifestyle that she has created for herself. This lifestyle I'm speaking of consists of having multiple dogs, cats, and rabbits all of which are neglected and abused. The dogs have broken limbs from falling down steps in her yard, none of which have been tended to. None of them have the appropriate permits or necessary shots that by law are needed. Her rabbits have something called 'sore hocks' which are cuts on the feet of rabbit from wire cages and neglect. Their feet become infected and inflamed and is very very painful for the animal and highly preventable. So, when some millennial tries reprimanding me for my actions although her whole exsistance is shameful...you know, that can really get to someone. Especially when I know in my heart that I was doing nothing wrong and this employee wasn't educated in the least bit on the truth of the matter. Then this girl said she was going to report me. I said a few choice words, grabbed my bag and started walking out. I turned around at the door and asked her what her name was so I could report her. She would not answer me so I asked her again. Again she did not answer so I grabbed her name tag so I could read it. When I did that and I tried shifting the name tag towards myself she backed up on purpose undoing the safety pin. She knew exactly what she was doing. I gave her back her name tag and continued to leave. Much to my surprise Food Lion is backing her side. Honestly...are you serious. I didn't ask for this. I didn't want this. As far as I'm concerned I was harassed and reacted to a situation that could have been prevented if Brianna had either minded her own business or maybe taken me aside with a manager and discussed her concerns with me. She had NO RIGHT to accuse me of abusing my puppy and she damn sure had no right to embarrass my family and I at the register in front of all those people checking out. I am so embarrassed about what she did to me. And on top of everything she pressed charges on me for "offensive touching" because of me trying to look at her name tag. Not only has she caused embarrassment for my family and I but she definitely caused major embarrassment for Food Lion. And do you know how I know this? Well the next day a fellow employee at Food Lion was speaking to my neighbor who had gone to the store to grab a few things. While they were talking the employee did not realize this lady was my neighbor. The employee proceeds to explain how wrong Brianna had been to say those threatening things to a customer and how Brianna had no right to talk to a customer in that manner and create such a situation in front of the whole store. Since this has happened the police have come to my house and in front of my children, told me I had to "turn myself in" because I had a warrant for my arrest. Now I know that places like Walmart, Superfresh, Acme, and Harris Teeter have policies in place where they avoid public humiliation and negativity gravitating the label of their name. This seems to me like a highly negative situation. If something is not resolved by the higher ups at Food Lion I am going to the news media, social media, and the local radio stations to tell everyone about the embarrassment I endured in your establishment and the embarrassment I endured later on at my own home in front of my children when police officers came to me telling me I had to turn myself in because I had a damn warrant for my arrest because of something I didn't ask for, want, or need to happen. Life is hard enough. Raising teenagers, working constantly, and trying to keep a positive outlook on life are my main endeavors. Since this incident, however, I've been made to feel like a criminal for only defending my family and my lifestyle against someone who had no right even speaking to me. The only things Brianna should have said to me are, "do you have a Food Lion card, " and "form of payment?". I should have never endured the pain I've had to endure because of Brianna. So, as I said before, some sort of action needs to take place on behalf of Food Lion to eliminate the problem. Its like an infectious disease and its only going to get worse as time goes by. I was in the Vinton store on Saturday. It was an awful experience! I have spent close to $200 within the last week there. This experience did not make me feel good at all! It has definitely made me not want to shop there anymore. First there were 2 ladies that work on registers that were complaining while I was shopping and blocking me from what I wanted to get. They were complaining about the manager sending people home early and they needed help in the front. I go back towards the meat department and there were 2 young men gossiping about someone that works in the front of the store. One worked in the meat department the other Im not sure. He had a bandanna on his head! Looked very unprofessional! The bandanna boy said to the other "I better let you get back to work" The other young mans respnse was " Thats ok. I don't have anything better to do" I timed them! They stood and talked for 20min. When I went to check out there were only 2 lines open. Lots of people waiting! Finally someone came to help. She was one of the ladies that was in the back complaining. She was nice but she was complaining to me about the same thing she was to the other lady! I live close to FL but I will only go in there from now on to pick of things I have to have. I will not do grocery shopping there again!

From there she was unfriendedly in having to fill the balloons unfriendedly, insisting why we would come here to get our balloons filled. Either Heathsville Food Lion or your warehouse suck at orders. How hard is it to order 2-3 cases (48/72 bottles). I actually wanted 84 every week but that was causing confusion! Take note cases not bottles x 24 bottles in a box every week and the cost of my weekly shopping. I was driving to Food Lion each week for my order and it was a guessing game of his many from my order I would actually purchase. One week, perhaps 24, another time 36 or if I was really lucky what I had ordered. Always the same old excuse, it's the warehouse fault! Well I thought we had rectified, food lion were ordering 10 cases just for me and religiously every week I've been going in, doing my weekly shop and collecting Le Bleu water. Until, wait for it, last Monday. Again, no water but 48 on the shelf in sale! Guess the regular customer doesn't count with them. I took what was on the shelf and was informed a delivery was being made so check back. I gave them my phone number, yet again, and asked them to call me. Today 2 days later, I went back to see if they had my order. So 2 journeys to Food Lion at a cost of gas and 30 minutes of my time in driving was a waste as, you got, NO, being July 4th the young girl told me was busy so her guess was warehouse was busy. Ouch! Diane knew I was mad and on kindly checking no, warehouse had not fulfilled my order yet again. Tomorrow, July 4th, I will drive 30 minutes each way to Kilmarnock to get water. I will give Food Lion one more try, if they can't get a regular order together in Heathsville, goodness knows how they fulfill online orders. If this regular occurrence continues I will ask their competitors to order. It's worth me driving 30 minutes to Kilmarnock each week to do my shopping and know I'm getting the goods I need.
Not a complaint against staff.. they have always been very polite and helpful.. sometimes we have to realize that the staff can't control what their District offices or warehouses do..
Why lock in to Food Lion.. you can do an order online at Walmart.. their warehouse brings it packed separately.. you are told when it will be there.. you go into the store to let them know you are there to pickup.. they bring and put in your car.. done.. I've done this several times for food and merchandise.. never had a problem

Was working 2-3 jobs including my own (i'm trained in every department besides dsd) department with a top five illnesses at beginning of the month, our busiest time. The general manager had the audacity to stop me while looking for a container of sani-wipes for a customer in the middle of finishing my truck. To tell me rudely *you need to come when we call* after being up there all day anyway, neglecting my department with a saturday truck in my prep room... With the flu and 15 minutes left on my shift.
I wasn't even supposed to be in the building, not to mention i'm running circles around people who were 100% healthy.
I told her I was actually up there all day and that either I could do my job or everyone else's, you can't have it both ways.
I was wrongfully terminated... She kept people in the dark and didn't take into consideration that I had zero prior disciplinary actions against me.
Hell, another employee almost lost everything because she didn't take the necessary steps to protect him from just that when he was hurt on the job. We (employees) took it upon ourselves to ensure that didn't happen.
I don't know why i'm sharing this here, I should have her job right now.
Poor management, poor morale and a ridiculous turnover rate.

I have been harasse on multiple occasions by employee name chalae mills she has used bad language towards me she keep asking me about my son emotional support dog everytime we come in the store I told her last week he was for my son disabilities and I could show her proof she told me no thanks however tonight in front of customers she confront me again about the dog she has been rude disrespectful manners towards me each time I come into the store tonight I told her I be contacting headquarters she told me she don't care I also contact her because I left my phone on counter of service desk she spoke with me on the phone and stated my phone wasn't there if it was she is the one who would have put it in the customer service draw well I knew it was there at foodlion so I went to the store ask her again about my phone and she said no it's not in the drawer she looked already while talking with her I had my son call my phone and it started to ring from the drawer in front of her where she was standing at customer service desk I requested her to open the drawer and there was my phone if this matter isn't handled to my satisfaction after I have made this complaint I will be going to the news and attorney to make a complaint by law my son is allowed to carry his dog anywhere he was very upset with her behavior towards us I want the to stop and a apology to my son and I please contact me at [protected] this enough.
An emotional support animal is not the same as a service dog and is not covered by ADA laws. He is not allowed to carry the dog anywhere. The "certificate" you provided can be purchased online by anyone and it doesn't mean the dog is a service animal. You stated yourself it is an emotional support dog. People like you make it incredibly difficult for people with legitimate service dogs to be given fair treatment.
All you did was pay $150 so you can pretend you have "rights" to tote your dog wherever you please. Even the website where you purchased your fake document tells you the emotional support animal doesn't mean it gets full access everywhere.
It would not be surprising if your son was disabled because you were drinking while pregnant or beat him so bad that you injured him. What a shame.

My name is heather. I have been working at the food lion on Chester rd in Chester va for the past 3.5 years. I applied for the assistant customer service position at my store twice and have never received an interview. I also was promised full time by my store manager for a full time office position but I have never been full time on my pay stub. I also haven't received training for the Sunday morning lottery inventory count. I have been asking for the past year if someone would train me and it has never happened. Please help me. I want to be the best employee I can be and learn whatever I need but I need help getting my store on board to teach me.
Management and poor training skills
I was hired for the retail pricing coordinator position and I never received training. The only training I received was two pieces of notebook paper that had notes from the previous person that had the position. Sale pricing
I went to your store in Kernersville on Main st to buy a Butterball Turkey and a a Ham at check out I was told I could not get sale price unless I spent 35.00 Dollars.
There is not a sign on your Butterball Turkeys that say this. I am very displeased

This is Jane Shaddeau my sister worked here fulltime at the deli section she was a very hard worker person she even always showed up everytime the deli manager call her to work when she got her day off she been really dedicated to her job.. Complaining about customer service. On 10/15/2018 I inquired as to why "my wallet" didn't contain any of my earnings. Sent to research team. 10/22 I called again; nothing was done with my inquiry. 10/25 I called again and spoke with ms estelle goli. Still nothing done. Asked to speak to supervisor and told no one was available and was told they would call me back but was unsure about what day. What day? Give me a break. Your customer service is awful. Do something!

Harassment at work
I am a current employee at FoodLion and I am constantly being harassed by a strange customer that only comes inside the store when he either sees my truck outside in the parking lot or when I am at a register alone with no customers. He has walked behind me and whispered strange things behind mye while my back was turned facing a customer and consistently stares at me until I leave my register and even when I was backing out of the parking lot. I am afraid he may have information on me now that he knows what kind of vehicle I drive and possibly my license plate number and I have repeatedly gotten my store manager involved and other head managers who were on site. Nothing has been done and it's been going on since I've first started working at the location. My store manager isn't sure about what needs to be done besides banning him from the store. What are some solutions I can do to prevent this from continuing ? I'm scared to death to walk out every night and I have to be escorted out by a manager on duty when I close at night.

first of all im the 15yo son and our dog is not abused in any way, she and her brother are the mos spoiled pups i know, they get everything they want and plenty of love, they get 3-4 meals a day of top quality food, they get taken on walks at least 3 times a day and get to run around in the woods... she is extreamly attached to me and my mom, ...
we left her in the car bc it was about 62 degrees out not 70... and the windows were only down enough for her to put her head out. she had a bowl of water in the seat and a soft blanket to lay on, she was only whining and warbling bc she wanted to come out and go in the store with us, considering she goes in every store she is allowed to. the cashier has no business asking us abut our personal life. she needs to keep her mind on the cash register and giving us our receipt. she turned away so my mom couldnt see her name tag, the name tag is there for a reason its completely unprofessional for her to turn away. i dont know the policy but some places you arent allowed to hide youre name tag. she assaulted my mom verbally and personally. my mom did not touch the cashier at all, she strictly touched the name tag.
