I don't understand why Tops Markets LLC sells brown paper bags that are of lower quality compared to other stores. And to make matters worse, their Topps Chargers are priced one penny higher than what you can find elsewhere. It's just not fair!

I went to Tops Markets LLC and saw a ham with a price tag that said it was $23.32 off the original price of $40.46 if you had the Bonus Card. However, when I was charged, it ended up being $40.46 because their weekly ad required an additional $30 in purchases. I didn't see the ad and the price tag didn't mention anything about a minimum purchase.

I've told them many times 'bout the spoiled milk on their shelf. I even complained to the ComplaintsBoard.com, but they ain't fixed the problem yet. Just yesterday, I bought milk from 'em, and it was already startin' to spoil. Their cooler ain't cold enough to keep the milk fresh, so it spoils before it's supposed to.

Tops at 1225 Jefferson Road is pre-authorizin $200 per transaction when you buy any amount of fuel. It's been 48 hours and the $200 hold is still on my account for a $30 transaction. I get that they put up signs about pre-authorizin accounts but this is crazy. I thought other Tops stores were freezin too much at $100 but this store is way too much.

I recently had an unsettling experience at Tops Markets LLC located on Young Street in Tonawanda, New York. While shopping for a watermelon and ice cream, I noticed that the police were called on me. It was quite evident as when I left the store, I decided to wait in the parking lot to see if the officer would leave immediately after me. To my surprise, he did. As I drove away, I noticed him looking up in the air, pretending not to see me. However, it became clear that he was actually running my license plate. This made me feel quite suspicious and uncomfortable. I have the date and time of the incident, and I kindly request that you review the security camera footage to verify my account. I must express my disappointment and frustration with this situation.

Tops in Fayetteville NY has been tellin customers that purchased gift cards have expiration dates when according to Tops customer service, these cards have no expiration dates nor do they decline in value. They do not know how to activate or issue gift cards correctly, so it appears the card has no value or is expired. A gift card was purchased in July 2022 and they refused to honor it or offer any compensation. Nothing had been purchased prior to this so card should have had full $50 value. It was used within two months which is a prudent amount of time. It was embarrassing for the gift card recipient and Tops did nothing to help. They have profited from the gift card money. This was one of my worst experiences with customer service where neither the recipient or giver of the gift card were listened to.

This store let/lets people do bad things with debit cards without needing a pin or security code. You can do it in the store or online. I tried to fix this by calling customer service, but I had to wait for a long time. "Rochelle" at Tops customer service (8:15 AM, 8/16) said they won't do anything unless the police ask them to. I had to give her my card number, which I didn't want to do at first, but it doesn't matter now because the bank fixed it. Their customer service is bad and they don't care about making things right or fixing the problem with secure transactions. I'm going to tell all the important people about how they don't care about security.

Tops Markets I went to the Jamestown NY Foote Ave store to buy a cake for my daughter

I went to the Jamestown NY Foote Ave store to buy a cake for my daughter. I waited at the bakery, but the employee there didn't want to help. Another lady came and told her to assist me, but she was very rude and disrespectful. So, I asked for a supervisor. She said they were all too busy and I could wait if I wanted to. So, I waited. Meanwhile, my husband went to the desk to get help, and the manager said in front of him, "I have to go help these crazy people in the bakery, tell Adam to come here!" I wasn't being combative or yelling, so I don't understand why she called me crazy. Maybe it's because I'm black, haha. I tried to explain the situation to her, but she argued with me. I walked away, and she said she didn't care if I listened or not. Finally, Adam came and asked what happened and gave me a $25 gift card. I would like to be contacted by corporate. It's not right for anyone to say that about customers. Without us, they wouldn't have a job. Why did she call me crazy? I did nothing crazy at all. I want the cameras to be checked, an apology, and to know what actions will be taken. It's unacceptable that she referred to us as crazy people in the bakery. I bet nothing happened to her, and that's not okay with me. Was I labeled crazy just because of the color of my skin?

Tops Markets Customer complaint

I went into tops on sat 5/18/2024 The tops store playing on the radio wayne is a male prostitute. When I got to the cashier register the cashier told me your a male prostitute. The customer service manager is prejudice and they need to fired her. I am a black male and the white women at tops have been calling me a male prostitute a tops. I have a degree and I am not a male prostitute.

Tops didn't give me a full refund for a bad package of sunflower seeds. The seeds were all spoiled and not fresh at all. I tried calling Tops four times, but they didn't bother to respond. This company is really dishonest.

I buy groceries from Tops and when I got home, I noticed that my food wasn't right. Some of the dates on my food were expired by more than five months and the meat tasted sour. I reached out to the company and someone said they would talk to the manager, but I never got a call back.

I always get charged the wrong price for an item whenever I go to Tops Markets. It's really frustrating because then I have to go to the service desk and wait even longer for them to give me a refund. When I check out, I can't see what I was charged on the screen until I receive the receipt because all the bonus card and sales items are taken off at the end. The people at the service desk don't seem to know anything about it and they won't honor the state law that says they should give a super refund if I'm overcharged. This has happened at least 3 times in the past 3 months and I'm usually overcharged by around $7 each time.

The Tops flyer dates were advertised as 11/22 - 11/28. Tops had a deal where if you spend $25, you could get a Tops or Jennio-o turkey for only .48 cents per pound. I saw this offer in the ad and decided to go to Tops to take advantage of it. However, when I went to check out, they told me that the deal had ended on Thanksgiving. I told them that the ad didn't mention anything about the deal ending on Thanksgiving day. A store manager also seemed confused by this and said that another manager had informed her that they couldn't honor the deal on the turkey. I called the Tops complaint department as soon as I got home, and an associate named "Dale" told me that there was nothing he could do about it on his end.

This is a complaint about Tops Friendly Markets located at ***, Amherst NY 14228. On February 1, 2023, around 3pm, I went to the store for some groceries. I went to the deli counter where a young man was working. I wanted to find Buffalo Chicken, but I couldn't see it. I politely asked the guy if they had any because I might have missed it. He looked at me and said, "What are you talking about? If it's not there, don't ask me." I was surprised by his rudeness, so I just walked away. He was very mean and rude for no reason. I've never had any problems when asking Tops employees questions before. They're supposed to be the Friendly Market, but he was anything but friendly. He was just rude and mean.

Tops Markets When I went to buy fruit cups for my kids, I found lots of fruit cups that were expired

When I went to buy fruit cups for my kids, I found lots of fruit cups that were expired. These fruit cups weren't just a few days expired, we're talking months and one is only a few days away from being over a year expired. That means it must have been sitting on that shelf for over 2 years without being touched or rotated out, since it's been expired for over a year. I have some pictures to prove it. The specific items were the ***. These were meant for my kids and they could have gotten sick if I hadn't checked the dates. This isn't the first time I've had this issue at this Tops location. I know we're in a pandemic and there have been recent incidents at local Tops, but people should be getting fresh food, not food that's almost a year past expiration. This is an ongoing problem at this Tops location, which is at 6914 Erie Rd. Derby, New York 14047.

I went to Tops today to use the 6X gift card toward gas coupon for Happy Brand gift cards. I wanted the one with Lowes as an option. I grabbed the coupon near the register. I told the cashier that I wanted to use the coupon and she said it should work. She asked me how much I wanted and told her $40. But after paying, my gas points were only 10cents off so didnt seem like the coupon worked. I asked the lead cashier about it and he said I purchased the wrong gift card and would not apply. But, I explained the girl told me it would work and i had told her I only was buying gift card to get the gas points - it was one of the reasons I shopped at Tops. I told him I needed to exchange it for the correct gift card but he said he could not handle returns So he called the store manager Michelle Gentile and she told me the same thing. She said the service desk was closed and only they could refund my money. I was misled and sold the wrong gift card.

Tops Markets I tried using e-coupons on 8/20

I tried using e-coupons on 8/20. I attempted to register my bonus card, but I kept encountering errors. It wouldn't accept my card number. So, I decided to register a new digital card and loaded the e-coupon onto it. When I went to the store to buy my items, the e-coupon didn't work at the register. The store staff basically told me "tough luck" and couldn't or wouldn't assist me. I went back home and confirmed that the e-coupon was indeed loaded onto my card. I also checked that my phone number and card number were correct, and they were. Although the coupon value was not significant, it raises concerns about other issues. For example, problems with advertising and incorrect prices. It's also disappointing that the store staff couldn't or wouldn't do anything to help. Maybe Tops should reconsider their tagline to Tops Unfriendly Stores. The website also has its issues. It shouldn't be such a hassle for someone to simply register a loyalty card. Additionally, customers shouldn't have to deal with unhelpful store staff who seem incapable of providing service or resolving issues.

I called store #49 and talked to a clerk about the ***-3lb dry roasted, unsalted in the shell peanuts (yellow bag). The clerk said they would check if the peanuts were mold-free before I went to the store. After a quick look, the clerk said they were mold-free. But when I got there, I saw mold on all the peanuts in the yellow bag. Some other clerks said it was dirt, while one said it was charring from roasting. Another customer who overheard us thought it was black mold too. Eventually, the clerk who said it was dirt admitted that I was right. However, both the store manager and office manager acted like they didn't know anything...no responsibility at all! The store manager even tried to make the moldy nuts look better instead of taking them off the shelf for further inspection. This happened at Tops Markets in Buffalo, NY, on Niagara Ave and South Park Ave. I'm not trying to scam or trick anyone... I don't want compensation. I just want quality products from a trusted vendor that has been around for 60 years. I want them to improve, remove the moldy nuts, and maybe even recall the product. Next time you go to your local Tops, go to the produce department and check out the yellow bag. What do you see?... Dirt? Roasting process? Or good old black MOLD?

My wife and 6 year old son went to Tops Market (Store 535 in Carmel, NY) on New Years Eve and had a terrible experience with their asset retention rep. This person interrogated my wife and 6 year old son over an honest mistake, which was not okay. Even the employee who was present during the incident agreed, as I called the store when my wife came home crying. The employee was "glad that I called" because she "felt terrible" about what the asset retention person put my family through, as it was against store policy. His questioning, about 2 Simply Lemonades (~$6) being under the cart, after paying ~$100 for other groceries, is unacceptable. It was clear to a rational, professional person that this was a mistake and holding a woman, with no previous record or issues, and her 6 year old son in a small room for over 30 minutes is an abuse of power. He also questioned the 6 year old to try to prove my wife was lying about buying spray paint from another store (by asking what color she bought), which is disgusting and unnecessary. This person should never subject another family to such a traumatic experience, as he did with mine, probably to satisfy his abuse of power. I expect someone higher up at Tops Market to contact me to discuss the situation further, as I have also filed a formal complaint on their website and am waiting for a response.

Tops Markets I went to the Depew NY / D&L Tops Markets today

I went to the Depew NY / D&L Tops Markets today. I used the self checkout and wanted to get $60 cash back from my debit card, but the machine froze. We asked the self checkout employee for help. She said the maximum cash back allowed is $50. She canceled the debit card transaction and told me to try again with only $50. I did that, and the machine gave me a receipt and a coupon, but no money came out. When I looked at the screen, it showed a total of $43.18, so I thought the cash back wasn't approved. I quickly glanced at the receipt on my way out, and it said $43.18 paid by Debit. However, I got a banking alert from *** and saw that $93.18 was debited. I looked at the receipt again, and just above the survey message, it said $93.18. I called the store right away and explained what happened. They transferred me back to the self checkout employee, and she said the machines often have this issue. She even mentioned that she once lost $50 in a cash back transaction where the money didn't come out. She said Tops doesn't care and won't do anything about it, then she apologized and hung up. We drove back to the store and asked to speak with a manager. We talked to Joe and told him everything. He took our receipt and went to the back office. He came back about twenty to twenty five minutes later and said the money was dispensed, but we didn't take it, and the customer behind us got it. However, both my wife and I looked down and didn't see any cash. Manager Joe refused to help us and didn't let us see the security camera footage when we insisted that we didn't see any cash in the bill dispenser. Also, these machines have a voice feature that tells you when you have change or cash back, but it didn't play the message.
