From reading other reports on this sight I now feel secure in the knowledge that I am not the first person to have received fake bills from an FNB ATM. I drew money last month from an FNB ATM in Malelane Mpumalanga I still had R200 left in my wallet today when I went to the shops. I was shocked when the assistant would not let me use the note to pay for my purchase as she said it is fake and showed me the reasons.
I have spent the afternoon doing some research on the Net and see that it is a big problem at the moment with a lot of counterfeit money in circulation, but I would have thought a bank would have been more diligent with checking money before stoking their ATMs. I will just like to know what is being done about this matter, is FNB restocking ATMs with clean money or will it continue to hand over unusable bills but will not accept them in return.

We write to acknowledge you that we received your bank details therein, as stated by the British Microsoft Award Committee 2015 that prize fund of every beneficiary of programmer has been placed under Insurance Bond, that is to say that no one has the authority to break the rules and regulation that has been place even the bank can not go against the rule.

Secondly, note that this is a due process required from all the beneficiary of this promotion, be informed that you will have to pay (US$150) for the bank endorsement fee before we can transfer your winning fund of GBP£1, 000, 000.00 (One Million Great British Pounds Sterling) into your nominated bank account in (Rwanda).

The bank transfer endorsement fee is mandatory and non-negotiable. And note that this payment has to be made in order for the paying bank to remit your fund into your designated bank account which you have provided to this bank.

First National Bank [FNB] South Africa prepaid electricity

I have bought the prepaid electricity of R50-00 then rejected, R50-00 again, rejected again, on the 26th March 2009 and the metre doesn't accept the energy then i have phoned fnb cellphone banking on [protected] REF. [protected]. Then the fnb gave me this number [protected] to phone eskom, then they say we will look forward to it REF. [protected]. On the 27th March i've gone to eskom to claim the issue, then they said there's no reflection on the system and i have to to the fnb again. FNB phoned eskom and try to resolve the issue the i;ve god the REF. [protected] and the feedback was state as the query has been locked. Since then on Saturday 04 March 2009 i've gone to Mafikeng Branch to try to cut my long road i have been traveling between FNB and eskom, no solution of sitting down, waisting my time in the branch. Good people please help me please! please!

Why the electricity from Pick'n Pay and Shoprite gone through the same meter number, it means FNB have knocked me daylight, R100-00 in total for electricity and i have waisted airtime for phoning the bank and eskom.

Now the question is should i leave my bank go elsewhere to buy electricity, whereby i'm paying service for my bank?

Is this the support i should have to my bank?

First National Bank [FNB] South Africa closed my account without my authorization

I had a savings account with this bank and I got cheated out of some money. I also had couple of other things I wanted to complain about. So I sent them an email to tell them. Two days later I receive not a letter of apology but a check for the money they cheated me out of and the money I had in my savings account. They closed my account. I just wanted a letter of apology for the things they did to me. That is not how you do business. They obviously do not have people skills. I have ran a business before and you just don't deal with an upset customer like that! But thats okay. My family has borrowed and done business with them for years. I don't think he realizes how much business he just lost.

First National Bank [FNB] South Africa poor service provided

In Jan 2006, The first national bank offered me an overdraft by Atm as a I was busy withdrawing funds on my cheque account and I accepted without knowing the conditions of this facility. When left me previous employment I did not hear from FNB either that they were intending to delete my overdraft facility, I subsequently recieved employment elsewhere and bank with a different bank although all my debit orders were / are still running through this account and I am mainatining it the same way dispite banking elsewhere because of the exceptional service I recieved from this bank in the last 12 years. Until this morning 25.2.08 that A gentleman from the FNB branch contacted me to ascertain why my salary did not get paid on this account today, I asked him why He said one of his colleagues had contacted me sometime back and I commited to redirect my salary to this FNB cheque account , That was news in my ears because no body " I mean no body" from this branch contacted me about my salary where I commited to redirect it to this account by the 25.2.08. Then we agreed that I will redirect in March 08 only . Then a huge deposit of money cam through and I obviously wanted to access my funds and then only learnt that my account has been blocked for further use until salary gets paid into this account . I immediately visited a branch and they put me through the gentlement I had spokent to 3 hrs ago ( in the morning) He told me that hat the bank is concerned that I may not be able to pay the overdraft back since I am now bankink else where, I then asked him to deduct the amount owing in full ( the overdraft amount not even 40 % of the the amount deposited on my account) I could not understand what is the big fuss about , However this guy said He will make a deal between us that I recieve my funds in full and redirect the salary next month . I left the bank.
10 minutes later he called again that I need to sign acknowledgement of debt that I owe FNB money on the overdraft facility and that They cannot release my other held unaccounted for funds until I sign this peace of paper at the branch again.
I told him out of frustration that I find it difficult that the bank has a trust issue with me after all, because the overdraft was given to me in a clamsy way in that no one explained the conmditions of the overdraft not explained anything as all this happened on a ATM machine and noe He is coming up with Stories , AFter He apologised He hung up the phone and still failed to lift the Hard hold on my account as promiosed and It looks like He is exercising his power to ensure that I only recieve my money when he & his superior wish if I will ever .
Moral of the story is that the First National bank is became a poor service provider that only puts itself before the client and goes all out to incinvinience a client . and it means A client must go sit in the queues at the branch 4/5 times a day then it is fine with this BANK!
I am an extremely upset about this matter . AS the money in my account is not all I owe then, what stops them from taking their money and leave mine so that I can close my account and move one to other client orientated banks.
The choice is wide for consumers ...

I have log and complaint in October 2022 to date not resolved and no feedback from private banker or any FNB employee. This is ridicules to be a loyal client paying every month not skipping any payments and getting service like this. I can email all communication from October to date as proof that FNB are not doing anything.
