Firestone Complete Auto Care review: Excessive parts markups, repeated service issues, and poor management accountability
Extremely disappointed with Firestone Castleton's pricing, customer service, and management. Store Manager Josh quoted me $127 for a part that retails for $47 and costs just $66 directly from the OEM. That's 170% above retail, and the actual markup could be even higher given Firestone's likely access to commercial pricing. When I escalated my concerns to Area Manager Robert Schroeder, he defended the pricing rather than addressing whether it was reasonable. I consider this excessive and unethical.
I also made two unnecessary trips to this location, totaling over 80 minutes of driving, because of appointment scheduling issues and their failure to have the appropriate technician available.
Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated experience. During previous appointments, they have also failed to reset my maintenance light or replace my oil change sticker after oil changes. These are basic service details that should not be overlooked.
I understand businesses need to make a profit, but there is a difference between reasonable markups and taking advantage of customers who may not know what parts actually cost. The combination of excessive pricing, repeated service issues, and management's dismissive response demonstrates a concerning lack of accountability.
Recommendation: I strongly recommend comparing prices and considering other service providers before trusting this location with your vehicle.
