Fifth Third Bank / 53.com review: Customer service

I opened an account, after closing a 401 K account. I opened the account with a little over $18,000, to deposit into a savings account. Two days after deposing the account, the check was mistakenly flagged as fraudulent by Citibank. The matter was handled rather aggressively. I understand that checks have to be verified, but Fifth Third was asking me to verify my own check. When they should have contacted the company that cut the checks. They repeatedly told me that they didn't matter, and ordered me to go to Citibank. Citibank wouldn't speak to me, because I didn't have an account with them.. Perfectly understandable. A rep from the Fraud department, named Renee, worked on my case. She told me that Citibank mistakenly thought my check was a duplicate, and flagged it fraud. I had to fix this situation, as the check was only good for 30 days. I didn't think I should have been calling Citibank. Also, the bank threatened to close my account. A short time after this, my account was blocked, because I transferred money from my account to a Paypal card. I completed that transaction, in the wrong order.. it should have been from the account to paypal, and not the reverse. My account was blocked again, and I contacted the fraud department. After I received my debit card, I awoke to a balance of -$486,000 in my accounts. They were frozen again.. and again this had nothing to do with me. Renee, removed this odd balance, and restored my accounts once again. But tonight, I tried to pay a balance on my Apple app, and the system froze my accounts, saying there were negative banking practices occurring in my account. I am closing my accounts. I feel I have been treated unfairly, since day one.. The amount of stress all of this has cause is insurmountable. Chase bank always texts to ask you about transactions... not lock you out of your money, and close your accounts down. Terrible business practices!
