illegal use of usps mailbox
For several years I had a great Fedex delivery guy for my area. He knew all his customers and where best to leave packages safely. I asked the temporary new delivery person where he went and was told he was upset with Fedex and quit. I know the feeling. My house is situated on a lake with the mailbox 1/10 of a mile from the house on the roadside along with 9 other mailboxes. A couple of months ago I filed a case with USPS since myself and my neighbors have repeatedly had our mail stolen. Not really happy with USPS since their solution was to get a P.O. Box. My solution was to use Fedex for anything important. Yesterday I was home all day yet I went to the mailbox to find a Fedex door tag hung on the outside of my mailbox, inside was the Fedex envelope which contained a check from my company. I called Fedex explained the problem and I am still waiting to hear back. Fedex it is ILLEGAL for you to use a USPS mailbox! Companies are only as good as their employees. I suspect this employee was hired for less than my previous delivery guy and was simply too lazy to do his/her job of making deliveries. I will wait until tomorrow to hear back from Fedex and see what type of action they will take. Otherwise I will figure out who the proper authorities are to contact and let Fedex answer to them for their offense.
UPDATE FROM FEDEX EPISODE---I received a call from Barbara. She was very pleasant and apologized for what happened. Given the problem she will notify "management" and have them call me. I let them know that at least one other person has had their USPS mailbox used by Fedex which was posted on another sight.
Robert Lewis the manager from the local Georgia Fedex office then called to apologize and let me know a letter will go out to management and this will not happen again. His tone was short and business like, less friendly than Barbara. Understandable since he is aware that they can be sued by USPS. Really a letter will go out? I am not an attorney and I know you can’t use USPS boxes. What good is sending a letter stating not to do what you already know should not have been done? On my end, at the very least I think Fedex should have offered to refund my company the fee they charged for delivering the envelope. They made no offer. Made no attempt to ask how to make this right in my mind. If they would have asked I would have said, I want a different delivery person. SHAME ON YOU FEDEX. I asked Robert how they were going to resolve the issue with the driver. He said they would not discuss it. My opinion of Fedex. They were once a great company. Now they don't hire or train good employees and they don't care what their customers think. After seeing all the complaints posted it is apparent they don’t care.
I learned something new today. Not reporting a crime is called Misprision of felony. My luck I would be charged for not reporting a crime. I looked it up on the internet it exists. So for those of you with knowledge of Fedex using USPS mailboxes there is now an open case #ca [protected] filed with the postal inspector. This reminds of the final episode of Seinfeld.
missing package
i was waiting for two packages from different companies both delivering with FEDEX.
when the driver came i took a small package witch was some cooking utensils signed for it and carry on waiting for the other package, a play station.in the evening frustrated that the play station was not here and was next day delivery i tracked the parcel, only to see that it has been delivered and sign for by me.quickly tracked the other parcel that i received and it was showing that is not even at the local depot. called FedEx only too find out that the parcel that i actually received in my hands was missing, and that the play station was delivered (not). after many calls and investigations i took a closer look at the package from FedEx only to realize that there are two labels on the parcel.one on top of the other one.
the play station tracking number was on top.the one for the utensils was well hidden underneath.so of course i signed for my play station...since that was the label that the driver scanned.so now the utensils are in my hand but in FedEx system are missing and the play station is nowhere to be found but in they system i signed for it.
please if anyone knows here i should go from here help me please!

Hope they fix it for you!
home delivery
Fedex home delivery is not only awful, but ridiculuous and unacceptable. This happened twice already and despite my calls to the customer service (Which were of course nice and courteous) their hired driver is probably the laziest of all! He said he rang my bell and I was right here at home waiting! No one rang my bell! He lied! Did he actually come and tried to deliver? You would question this! I am very very angry and upset. I got a call from them that he will try to come back in the afternoon and that means I will wait for the worst delivery service ever again! I hope those companies who send their products online will not use fedex anymore really really disappoints in all aspects of customer service!

damaged delivery
FEDEX has NO customer service. The FEDEX website allows customers to find out how to do business with them, but they do nothing to receive or respond to complaints. Example: I put official government documents into a FEDEX Letter for fast, reliable delivery...HA! HA! I placed the envelop into a FEDEX box feeling that I was doing business with reputable organization...HA! HA! The recipient contacted me asking why the FEDEX Letter had been repackaged and the documents were water damaged? I tracked the letter, but there was no indication that that the FEDEX Letter had been repackaged. I found a way to send an email to FEDEX related to delivery, but no way to file a complaint. I received three emails all telling me that my issue was being forwarded to the person who could best handle my issue...then nothing. There was no way to reply to the email...no one who took responsibility...no telephone number to call (except to ask about delivery...automated asking for the tracking number and telling me that it had been delivered). I will NEVER do business with FEDEX again. I paid $50 to have water damaged documents delivered with no accountability for damaged delivery. I had to resend the documents since the agency couldn't use the water damaged documents.

air freight charge too high
We had some business with Korea. We ask them to send some aluminum tanks to us.
1st time, we used UPS, it cost 1200USD for 4 tanks.
2nd time, we send back 3 tanks (unfinished one) to Korea by UPS, it takes around 1, 300 USD.
3rd time, we request Korea side to send that same 3 tanks that we sent back (completed ones) to us, we provide UPS and FedEx account.
All tanks hase same size. 2nd and 3rd time, we used same box for shipping.
The Korea company this time used FedEx, and we agreed to pay at our side.
When we got invoice, it was 7, 300 USD. I could not believe my eye. What is FedEx business here?
It is my fault that I did not check their rate, quote. But I think it's very un-reasonable price here.
Any one have any idea what should we do to get better price? Thank you very much.
*** My lessons: Never use FedEx international service, UPS is much much better.

reliability
Approximately 2 years ago, the reliability of Fedex has declined precipitously and is now to the point of ridiculous. You are lucky if you receive a package on time 50% of the time. They give one excuse after another...weather problems, plane problems, mis-routed, mis-sorted, etc. You will get a different excuse each time you call. UPS and the usps are providing far better service and reliability now than Fedex is. Fedex used to be the best courier service...now it is the worst. I know vendors who have stopped using them as shippers due to their increasing unreliability...and hope that soon, the usps and UPS will knock them off the pedestal they no longer deserve or merit. In fact, if the usps is smart, they will jump right into this huge opening the Fedex is providing right now and replace them as better courier. The usps needs the business and this would be the time to take advantage of the failings of Fedex that have just continued to increase the past 2 years or so. Shame on Fedex. Hope you go down.
ship never ontime
Almost every time I order something and they use FedEx ground it is usually 2-3 days later than the Est delivery date, so since I was going out of town and had my cell phone in for repair 2 weeks prior, when it came to pay for deliver I opted for the Priority Overnight (CRAZY expensive.) The repair company had already told me it would take anywhere from 5-12 BUSINESS days, so I wanted to make sure I got it on time. Also I thought the more expensive the shipping the more they would be pushing to get it to you on time. 4 days ago I got notice and tracking number that my phone would be shipped, 3 days before I was to leave (cutting it close, but still hopeful) The Est delivery date was NOT overnight, but still the day before I leave. I took the day off knowing I could not miss it, and it never showed. Finally that early evening I called and tracking had not changed in 12 hours, and was 60 miles from my house (after it was 30 miles away at the biggest city in the area the day before.) They told me FOR SURE it would be before 1230 the next day. I decided to meet my family at the destination 5 hours away after it arrived because I didn't want it to be sent back to sender if I was not home. Tracking had progressed that night to the big city 30 miles from my house (although I noticed checking everything clearly that it had already been there before?) I waited until 1, and they never showed. I called FedEx asking about it, and they said it was in a container that was held up, and not scheduled until after the weekend! I asked about my Priority Overnight and the promise it was to be here by 1230 that day, and she said that didn't matter, there was nothing to do about it. BUT they can call me when it arrived! I explained it was my phone in the package and I have been using a neighbors, and how would calling me help? She then asked what phone number should she call. No answer, I think she was just trying to get me off the phone. I gave her my husband's who was 5 hours away, and asked she re-route it to my neighbor's (They wont.) Ended up driving the whole 5 hours alone with no phone, and I'll probably make it home before my phone does does.

Here is my email correspondance with Fedex customer service. This package has been in my state for 2 days. I'm leaving for vaca 7/19/12 early am. I am requesting info to at least tell me where I can go to pick up the package so I don't have to wait an additional 2 days and miss my package. We received your inquiry. We regret any inconvenience caused by this situation.

The tracking information states it is in R*****, NJ. That is the next town over from C****** . Why would it take 2 MORE DAYS TO REACH ME? Is there anyway I can pick it up from FedEx? Is there any info you can provide me so I could pick it up today. This is the most ridiculous type of delivery system I've ever heard of FedEx smart post service. There is not a thing that makes sense about it. I would like to drive myself to the fedex facility in R***** and pick it up. Please provide me with information

My name is Yan Chen. I live in San Francisco California. On Feb 7, 2013 I ordered a smart phone from Metro pcs. Next day I received a email from Metro pcs that the phone would be delivered on Feb 12, 2013 which is on Tues before 7:00pm . Immediately on Feb 08, 2013 I contacted Metro pcs that on Feb 12, 2013 I would be at work during 9:30am to 3:30pm. I asked Metro pcs to give a specific time instruction to Fedex delivery man that either before 9:30am or after 3:30pm to delivery the package since the signature is required on delivery. I knew if I missed the delivery time I would have to go to South San Francisco Fedex office to pick up the package where it will take half hour for driving, but I do not have a car. Metro pcs representative immediately contacted Fedex and gave a specific time which is by or after 3:30pm on Feb 12, 2013. Half hour later, a man named Martim from Fedex called me said that the package will be deliver on Feb 12 any time after 3:30pm and before 7:00pm. Today, Feb 12 about 11:30am, the Fedex delivery man called me said he is at the front door of my house. I said that 4 days before I have arranged the delivery time is after 3:30pm and now I am at work. After I got home I saw the door tag is on my gate door.
This is really bad service! Or there is NO SERVICE! We need Fedex not only deliver the packages but more important is give the SERVICE. The SERVICE means that do what customers required. It is not everyone can leave work and stay home to wait for a package. Most of people have to go to work and no one is at home. At this situation, Fedex delivery should meet the specific time schedule which required from those customers. Otherwise, people will use different delivery company.
unprofessional & dishonest business practices
I have been awaiting a package since Thursday. On Friday I was sitting less than 5 feet from the door and there was never any knock on the door. The FedEx driver then left the door tag stating they attempted delivery at 1:39 pm. I was sitting on the couch less than 5 feet from the door awaiting a friend at the supposed time of the attempted delivery. After dozens of painful and unproductive phone calls later, we still have no package and found out that they never even loaded our package for delivery this morning. The final manager that we spoke with at the FedEx today actually hung up on us when we asked for her name and contact information. This does not even include the dozens of telephone calls that we made and were promised return telephone calls. The complete lack of honesty, accountability, professionalism, and any kind of good business practice is disgusting in such a company as this.

Today I was going to send documents to Libya. Went to UPS.com and was quoted too much money, so I went to FEDEX.com and it will list Libya, but won;t give me a quote for UNKNOWN REASON. Fedex.com does not say what reason is, thus making me waste hours of my time trying to figure out. Strangely enough I could process my shipment with FEDEX and mark it as "SHIPPED" but they won;t give me the price quote! Called FEDEX support and after some ridiculous voice recordings was able to reach International FEDEX.com support after dialing 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. You know what I mean? Fedex.com support told me they MAYBE not shipping to Libya, after the revolution!? So during Qaddafi terrorist times they did ship to Libya, but now that it is free, they don't? Then he went away to confirm and was cinfirmi8ng that they do not ship to Libya. Yet when I asked why FEDEX.com lists Libya and accepts shipments to Libya he had NO IDEA... One of the MANY unprofessionalisms from FEDEX!
fedex destroyed package
I ordered from Amazon to which the person shipping used FedEx. When the shipment arrived the box was obviously thrown and abused. I opened the package to find that also my product was destroyed.
Contact FedEx. They probably just had some punk handle your package. They should be able to track down who did it.
fedex lost my package and no refund at all!
I am a 60 years old man, hardworking, just a regular joe. I'm a tax paying citizen and have the right to express my disgust about this company called FedEx. My wife sold a medical equipment, sensitive and expensive to a customer in Texas. We went to a FedEx Kinko's store to ship the package. The attendant asked us if we wanted to insure the package and also wanted signature required on delivery. We chose both options, we insured it for lower value to cover physical damage, then the equipment could be repaired, but we asked for the recipient's signature. The attendant made a serious mistake: she checked the option signature requested on the paper form but failed to do the same on the computer screen. The package followed the destination and was delivery and left by FedEx at the front door, the signature was not required and the package was stolen, we don't really know what happened to it. The recipient was at home all day long and no one knocked the door to deliver a package. In fact I believe that FedEx lost the package which was worth US$ 3, 500.00.
The equipment was purchased in Jan of 2012 and had a one year warranty. The insurance for $300.00 covered cost of having to return the machine to the manufacturer for repairs or replacement of the device. We never imagined that there would be a problem because we had required a signature at the time of delivery. Since this was an error on the behalf of Kinko's/ FedEx we feel like we should be compensated for the true value of the machine above what it was insured for. FedEx simply left the package at the front door and did not get a signature showing that it was delivered. Fedex's failure to enter it in the computer constitutes a complete error on their behalf above and beyond the insured value. We had asked them at shipping point what was the best way to insure it and that is what we told. We paid for the signature required for delivery-they simply did not key it into the computer. The company refuses to pay for the merchandise that was lost. Were submitted all required documents and they flatly refused to pay for my merchandise that was in their possession.
The only thing I can say now is that FedEx simply stole me. It's not fair, I trusted in this company and now they don't want to replace the equipment, and now I need to buy another one to give to the client!

fedex lost my package and didn't replace it

On Nov 3, 2011 I fedex'd my wifes US Passport to her in Canada. As of this date (11/18) it is still sitting in Canadian customs. If they had told me they could not deliver it the next day as agreed, (the driver and the fedex rep I spoke with to arrange the p/u) I would not have sent it. They charged me $48 and refuse to refund even though they are in breach of contract. Do not trust this company.
fedex shipping cost me $391 worth of damaged goods
Recently went to my local FEDEX to ship a package of fine art supplies to Canada for $129.99. The package was re-shipped to my residence a week later with the box obviously ripped open. After emptying it, there was a total of $156.09 worth of merchandise missing. I contacted them beforehand once i seen the package was off-route and they told me my package could not be delivered because it was refused by the recipient.
This turned out to be 100% false. There own tracker on there website showed the package never even left the city it was shipped from (NY). After emailing and calling several times to find out why i was misinformed, i was then told my package was missing a commercial invoice. I inquired what exactly that meant (i am unfamiliar with shipping terms) and have been ignored since. I filed a claim with them and still have heard nothing.
I’ve taken a total loss of $391.08 from this ordeal and their customer service reps couldn’t be any more unhelpful. Terrible terrible experience. I am very upset about this and am not sure what to do next. Do not EVER use FEDEX, they are horrible.
Received a shipment, delevered by Fed EX, only the second time I have used them, both times the items arrived broken, because I'm the buyer of the item, I have no rights, even though, I can't get in touch with the person who shipped the item, Fexex, again, told me to bad, they deal with the shipper. again the shipped I can't find, so I'm out 500.00 this time, and have a broken antique car part sitting in my living room.
My item was suppose to go UPS, I will go out of my way, to never have a item shipped Fedex again. the whole experience was just a run around, no one knows what the other one is doing, everyone told us something different, we have run around and taken the part into fedex ourselves, told we would be settled with for damange, then told not. This is just NUTS ! NO SERVICE at all, just a bid TO BAD from Fed EX
If there is damage to the outside of the package, then FedEx will assume liability for the damage. However, if the item was improperly packed into the package, then FedEx is not liable, the shipper is. You need to contact the shipper.
Also, if there is damage to the outside of the package, don't accept it. Once you take posession of it, there is no way for FedEx to tell if you did the damage or not.
These same rules apply for USPS and UPS.
Hopefully you paid for this part with a credit card, if so and you cannot get ahold of the seller, then contact your credit card company and file a chargeback.

Is it possible the recipient is lying - and, when receiving a package with no signature required, decided to try to pull a fast one?
For a $3, 500.00 item, it is a possibility. Strangers/Fedex delivery would have no way of knowing what was in the package they were stealing.
It looks like you sold a permanent makeup device - the recipient most likely bought it to use for a business. It would some amount of effort, but you absolutely could follow up and track whether or not the recipient is performing the services with the device...find someone in that town to call/visit their business and see whether the device you sent is in use or not. You took photos of the device with the serial number - very smart on your part, because that could prove the recipient did receive the device.
Not saying Fedex did not mess up here.
Good luck.
inconsiderate van driver
For the last couple of months, the driver of FedEx van registration number KY10 ZYF has left the van overnight, and every weekend, on Park Avenue in Bishop’s Stortford. No-one knows who is responsible for leaving it there, but last week the driver was observed leaving the van and walking off down Grace Gardens - no wonder no-one knows him!
The van is parked on the left hand side of the road, immediately before the road turns right, which means that vehicles travelling along Park Avenue are being forced onto the wrong side of the road when they turn into Grace Gardens. This is obviously dangerous, and demonstrates a complete lack of consideration for other road users by the driver.
We assume that when van drivers are permitted to take the vans home, there is an expectation by FedEx that the vans would be parked on their employee's own driveways, or at least outside their homes, not abandoned on a different road completely out of sight (and clearly out of mind) of the driver.
Photographic evidence has been obtained and provided to FedEx, but they have done nothing. Apparently lack of consideration for others is a company trait, shared by management and van drivers alike. Needless to say, we will not be using this company for any personal or business needs at any time in the future - and this will cost FedEx much more than they realise in lost revenue.

I will never use fedex again
I ordered a package on December 29th that was shipped via FEDEX. On January 7th, FEDEX delivered someone else’s package to my home. I called them and informed them that I was expecting a package and I had received someone else’s package with the wrong address and name. FEDEX said that would track down my package and get back to me within 48 hours. I called them after two days. No one even knew what I was talking about. I had to refile the claim and was told that I would hear back within 48 hours. After a week I called them and asked the status of my package. They said the driver had picked up the package that was left at my door by accident and that they were still trying to find my package. I told them that the driver lied.
I had called the lady whose package I received by accident and she came and picked it up. I waited another week and called back. This time they had my claim on file but could report no status. I told them that I was going to order another package from the shipper and that I wanted my money back for the package that wasn’t delivered. They said that I just needed to file a claim and that I would be reimbursed within 5 to 7 days. After 8 days I sent an email requesting the status of my claim. They sent me a response that my claim was denied. The reason was that the package was delivered to my house. I have never dealt with such an incompetent group of people. I will never use FEDEX again. I suggest that you require a signature for every package you receive from them.
Fedex office in Staples located in Hollywood Blvd, FLorida are idiots. Thanks to them I will never use FEDEX again! I brought them 2 prestickered boxs on Monday for Fedex Ground. The girl looked at them and told me where to leave them.
It was a bit starnge that by thursday they were still not delivered and Friday I came back to drop off another box. This guy working there told asked me if the green box was mine, he said they tried to call me but the phone ws disconnected and the box could not be shipped because he did not like the way it was packaged and looked. On my fedex there is 4 points of contact, 1.phone. 2. fax 3.email 4.address This harvard graduate genious couldnt figure out another way to contact me so this package sat there for 5 days till I returned.
I cant imagine what would of happened if I didn't return. Then he critized how this thing was packaged and this tpe of cardbaorad is not recommended for shipping.
I took my packages to UPS exactly as is and they shipped it immidiatly without issues for a few pennies less.
No more Fedex, if this is the type of people they hire and train then they can shove their services where the sun don't shine!
don't fedex to canada
Don’t FEDEX to Canada. I had to fedex my wifes new US Passport up to her on Nov 3, 2011. As of this date it is still sitting in Canadian customs (11/18/11) with no hope of getting it back. They charged me $48 for overnight service and want another $48 to send it back to Florida whenever it gets released. They did not tell me it would get held up in customs or I would not have sent it. I also believe this is a protest against Americans by the Canadian government because of that pipeline we are delaying. Avoid both!
customer service
I have had repeated problems with packages being delivered incorrectly. Not to a wrong address on my street, but to a different streets. On many occasions the occupants of the other addresses have brought the packages to me, thus making me aware of the mistake. One of them told me on other instances, he has left packages on my front porch when no one was home. When I tried to file a complaint with Fed-Ex via E-mail, I was told: "We would like to document this incident for corrective action. Your phone number is necessary in doing this." And it was not just one representative that told me that. I have several E-mils with similar comments. They do not know the appropriate FedEx management to send it to without my phone number. It is bad enough they have drivers that can not read, but worse that they expect you to believe that is necessary to have a phone number to handle a complaint.

this is the most inefficient shipping I have ever had
My product was shipped to me via SMARTPOST. This is the most inefficient shipping I have ever had the unwilling pleasure to be taken advantage. My item arrived at Kansas City Ks terminal sat for nearly 2 days 30 miles from my home, then sent to Council Bluffs Iowa for the night, then to St. Joseph Missouri for 2 days then sent out for delivery today, but since the driver did not get to the post office before it closes today, it may come tomorrow afternoon.
Here is the rub, as he MAY deliver it tomorrow afternoon noon, rural delivery has already left in the morning, hence maybe a Saturday delivery. I will not get my item until Saturday, but most likely now maybe Monday. It has taken FEDEX 1 day to get it from Kentucky to the Kansas terminal “30 miles from my home but will take 5 to 7 days to get the last 30 miles. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
I feel I must encourage people not to use FEDEX SMARTPOST as it adds unnecessary delays to shipping..If I ship FEDEX Ground only, 2 to 3 days it is in my hand. If I ship via USPS 3 to 4 days in my hand. SMARTPOST 7 to 12 days.
failure of delivery
FedEx delivery services is the worst services in Toronto that I have ever had. I am waiting for an important package to arrive. FedEx delivery guy came by two times to my apartment building, was able to get in and did not take elevators to come and deliver the package to my door. He simply left a notice on my mailbox inside the building and left. We called them a few times ahead to leave instructions, but they create funny explanations suitable for a comedy channel but not for a real life. First time they left a notice saying that no one was at home when clearly I was staying home for that purpose only. Second time they could not get in, somehow they left the massage on my mailbox inside the apartment building. I spent hours on the phone with them. Finally, they said if we want to get our package we have to drive to their shipping house and pick it up by ourselves. I recommend to avoid FedEx services as much as possible and use other companies if you do not want to have a miserable time.

Yes @Shtinkalikamouf, I suggest you make sure you understand the facts before you begin to make statements that are NOT true and start ranting for no reason. From the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual, Section 3.1.3:
Except under 3.2.11, Newspaper Receptacle, the receptacles described in 3.1.1
may be used only for matter bearing postage. Other than as permitted by 3.2.10,
Delivery of Unstamped Newspapers, or 3.2.11, no part of a mail receptacle may be
used to deliver any matter not bearing postage, including items or matter placed
upon, supported by, attached to, hung from, or inserted into a mail receptacle. Any
mailable matter not bearing postage and found as described above is subject to the
same postage as would be paid if it were carried by mail.
Actually...it is NOT illegal to place something in your mailbox...Does the USPS OWN YOUR MAILBOX? Correct, YOU do...Should it get damaged, who pays for the replacement...that's right...YOU DO! Learn your facts holmes!
