clerk attitude and lack of assistance
During my visit to Family Dollar today, I ask the clerks to help me locate the plastic spray bottles. After much consideration, the clerk at the register said they were by the yellow pole. There are several yellow poles in the large store. Most stores this size have isle numbers. The other clerk that had been standing behind the counter 30 plus minutes refuse to answer me the first time when I ask her to tell me what the register clerk stated. After asking if she found out where the bottles were she replied to me with "huh" instead of "ma'am." In addition to this attitude, there were 12 customers in line waiting for check-out. The lady with Multiple Sclerosis ask if she would open the other register. She said, "No." Apparently, she had no responsibilities at the time. It appeared that she had a problem with my skin color. I will shop at another store in Talladega or out of town.
smoked sausage pkg of 14 in the cooler
The register rings up the Bar S smoked sausage at the cost of $5.50 per unit price but the shelf clearly reads $5.00. I told the clerk that they have not changed the cost on the shelf and I didn't want to pay $5.50. She didn't ask her manager for a cost override either. Shopping in this store is virtually impossible due to the extreme heat in the store. The store workers are exhausted from the heat and the customers don't stay long in the store because it is just so uncomfortable to try and shop. What is wrong? Is this company so cheap that they can't afford air conditioning for the workers and the customers. This is abuse of the workers. The conditions are horrible. They are running fans behind the counter but it doesn't cool anything and it doesn't help the customer to be comfortable enough to shop in the store. What is wrong? The employees are all doing their best to make a terrible situation better but there is nothing more they can do. They are left helpless by a management that obviously just doesn't care about the customer or the employees that work for them. We are told by the employees that there is some part they have been waiting on for over a couple of months to fix the air. So what is the hold up? Nothing takes that long. One of the employees in the store has asthma and nothing has been done to accommodate her while this part is taking so long to fix the air conditioning. If this is the way that Family Dollar runs their business and treats their employees, I am not going back. It is very hot here, where I live and no one should have to work or shop under these conditions when they don't have to. This is both shameful and ridiculous.

My sister and I were charged with stealing because the manager jennifer vargas said we went down the wrong way in the store. She lied under oath in court. She only profiled us because we're black, its sad that you have to follow a store lay out in order to be an innocent shopper. Do not shop here they do not respect black shoppers or black employees~

I was falsely accused of shopping lifting. I have no record and have never ever taken anything at all. The manager Mrs Detria blatantly accused me of this and when I proved her wrong she picked up and item off the counter and accused me of taking this. I got really upset and began to inform her that I didn't appreciate being wrongly accused. At which point she informed me she didn't get paid unless she pressed charges. I waited for the police to come and she pressed charges. What the police didn't not see was her grab a bottle of something and spray it in my face. She also tried to trip me. I will be pleading not guilty and suing your company if something isn't done about this incredibly rude woman.

Stood in line 20 min. To find out there was only one employee in the store. The "2nd" employee was on break and not in the store. Besides being completely bad customer service, it was putting the life of the cashier in danger who was by herself and an elderly woman. The line was very long and she was doing her best.
Just think that the time you had to wait might have saved your life. What if you were supposed to be in a car wreck and having to wait saved you from it? I always try to see the positive in any negative situation. Perhaps they had a call out that day, and the two employees were left to cover the shift. Perhaps the employee who was on break was over her break and really needed it. While I see your point in the danger, there is no more danger in being alone than there is in a crowd. Just look at the shootings that occur in public places. Most, if not all, are in crowds, not solitary situations. Just be patient, and be blessed. And thank the employees who were there to help you.

The Family Dollar Store on South Taylor Road has no air conditioning. The employees just had fans, and it was extremely hot in the store. This is unhealthy for shoppers, and workers to me. The Health Department should investigate these working conditions. I was informed by an employee that the units were not working.
i had a ride to go to the store somehow the person i was riding with found my card and used it without knowing it until i got home and relized there was a transaction made without me authorizing it and i want my money.
Was your PIN with the card? If so, then there isn't anything the store could have done to stop the transaction. If it is a credit card, report immediately to the credit card company. In either case, use of your card can be stopped instantly as soon as you make the proper report by phone.
A/C is a luxury, not a necessity.

I was the store manager for store 7694 in rushville, ne. I was trying to get the discruit manager to come to my store and help me with my employees my crew, team memebers. I did everything he said and they still won't do there job or anything in that nature. They thought they can come to work and do nothing and still get paid. The discruit manager made me feel like it was my fault that they wasn't doing anything. Made me feel low and everything. I tried my hardest. I keep the store cleaned, well organized and he made me feel this way. family dollar in gillette wy, sunday had the computers down, and the lines way back to the wall, I tried to call both manager, and asst no anwser people were getting mad leaving ther carts full of food, still no answer .then the phone rang and the person on the line talk about the computers down and i thought he hwas going to help me no that was not the case he scam me out of a large amout of money.did not know until i came to work on monday 3.30pm and was let go. if i was proper trained this would not have happen. people out ther watch out for who you work for. not a very friendly family dollar.

I'm sorry you feel like you were wrongfully fired. The company itself puts out emails and newsletters about scams. (Credit cards, debit cards, western union, or any pre-pay cards, and phone cards) for one. If you were not made aware of this then that should also fall on the store manager.
I've been called before from a man who said he was with one of our vendors. He wasn't of course but even if he was, the store does not ever pay vendors at our level. That comes from corporate. I got as much information as I could, hung up, then called and emailed the DM.
I don't understand why people fall for these scams? Come on, use your lump between your shoulders for a minute. If the employee doesn't know how the bills, or any other form of money is handled then there is a reason.
I worked for family dollar for 6 years and can not count the forms I signed stating that I understand the policy on scams and frauds. In fact when you get hired and your reading all those pages on the computer. One of them is about scams and how to properly handle them.

store manager
I am a store employee's family member and I am in and out of the store from time to time. The store manager is not ever there because she leaves her store and her employee's so she can run around town with her new boyfriend. My family member said they was fed up with her getting paid better than anyone in the store and she is never there to do any work and that leaves one person working the entire store for the day. I think someone should check into this situation because it isn't fair to the other employees and if the manager can't do her job she needs to be replaced but she says her DM loves her and will never do anything to her. I have heard people talking in our little town and even in the family dollar store the customers are talking about how she is doing. I have swore off shopping at that store at all until they replace management. Her having sex in the stock room with delivery men and running around with her new boyfriend when she is suppose to be working and her husband is going to end up killing someone in that store over all she is doing. I hope someone thinks enough of their customers to do an investigation at the least on this store manager.

Maybe you should take a long hard look at yourself. If you are working at a store you are a customer service representative. You do not have the grammar and syntax to properly engage a customer. I would delete this message because an accusation saying "boss preduce no hours for me but everyone else has been working" could get you fired if anyone figures out what that means.
