Expedia keeps sucking us in with what looks like a great deal and generally does only cost the stated amount but comes with many unexpected headaches. We swear off every other time we use Expedia. This one takes the cake. We booked a package trip which popped up temptingly. We mad it to our destination with no problem. The hotel has been great. However, the hotel employees have indicated we could have done better by contacting them directly. The big problem came when it was time to check in for our return flight and were put in terrible seats far apart. We called the airline and were told Expedia never paid them for the added fee we were charged to cover seat choices, carryon bags and the option to change our flight with no additional charges. We called Expedia spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and sent documentation to prove our payment and kept being told we had not paid for seat choices. If that is true, there is some very deceptive wording. We asked to speak to the supervisor’s supervisor and were told she would make the request but that it may not be honored and it could take i72 hours to honor the request. Maybe there is some way Expedia could redeem itself but I cannot imagine it. Be very very careful using this company. This is not our first bad experience; it is only one of many. I believe that one using Expedia should do so only if they are willing to tolerate a few unpleasant surprises.
