I used Expedia once or twice before and had no problem. This time, whoever took my flight reservation inverted my name on the ticket [last name first and first name last]. I didn't notice it as there was no comma to differentiate which was which. For the first flight, I contacted Expedia and they said they had made the change. I thought that mean I was okay for the second flight home - NOT. When I discovered my inability to contact the airlines at 12:30pm the day before the flight which took off at 1:40pm the next day, I called Expedia and explained the problem to "Shay". She said I needed to contact the airlines [Case number 33250935] - I contacted the airline, but it took me until 1:30pm to contact an agent who said they can't do it unless I pay $50. So, I recalled Expedia and spoke with "Subdur" who said he couldn't do anything as I was now past the 24 hour guidelines for changes and "thinks" I won't have a problem at the airport. I asked for a supervisor and had to wait 50 minutes for him to get on the phone. He said he could change the name, but it would not be available at the airport by my flight time tomorrow. He kept saying it was past the 24 deadline and my fault. I told him about "Shay" leading me on a wild goose chase, but he kept telling me it was my fault and Expedia would not reimburse me the $50 extra required to get the ticket name changed. It was Expedia's fault that I wasn't within the 24 hour deadline due to Shay. It didn't matter. [Case 33255509] At the airport TSA I wasn't allowed to go through and had to go back to the airline desk and pay $50 for a name change. Going through Expedia was not worth the 3 hour discussion on the day before my flight. Nor was it worth the extra $50 I had to pay.
Recommendation: Check the airlines yourself and get a correct ticket from them. IF the airline made a mistake, the $50 would not have been necessary.
