Expedia review: Hotel refund
I booked with Expedia for the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista California. I asked both parties for a refund. Expedia said they would approve as long as the Gaylord approved. The Gaylord approved the refund. They said they never held on to the funds and returned them to Expedia and fully approved it from their end.
Expedia proceeded to give me the run around for several weeks. I spent over 20 hours on this. I have on record both companies approving the refund. The Gaylord was incredibly easy to communicate with. They even showed me screenshots of them returning the funds to Expedia.
Expedia refused to acknowledge this even after they explicitly told me they would honor whatever the Gaylord chose. I have all the email exchanges.
I am now going to have to make a detailed report to the California Consumer Protection Agency and the federal Consumer agencies as well. All over $531.40
For me, it's no longer about the money but the principle of it all.
Claimed loss: $531.40
Desired outcome: Refund
