A collection was arranged to pick up two small packages by a third-party company. DPD provided postal labels and delivery date with somewhat vague collection time were emailed to me. I then received another email giving a two-hour time slot and the name of the driver who was supposed to collect the parcels. He did not arrive. Subsequent to this I attempted to contact various email addresses given on DPD website, most of which no longer exist. I then contacted my local office giving all relevant details and copies of emails from DPD and to my amazement I got a reply from a person who could not be bothered to note the content but requested I sent the information again. I am no further forward. My question is that by failing to fulfil an agreement is this a breach of contract? Do people have recourse to compensation for losing income due to wasting time waiting for collections/deliveries after publishing those details?
