Dollar General review: Gift card issues / rude cashier ( 1 comment)

On 8/16/22 or 8/17/22 I purchased a $50 Visa gift card. The lady said the card was activated so I proceed to give as a gift. It wasn’t! After waiting the 7 days for visa to figure it out - I inquired twice to employees about the issue. Finally they say it wasn’t activated proper! The same employee that sold it refused to activate it, was beyond rude. To the point that I was livid! Then of course there’s the one Karen in the back who walk up missing half and of the exchange! Talking to me like she was the manager! There was a police officer right in line! Saw the whole thing! After biting my tongue I finally told her your customer service is $/:?! And that she was an [censored]! Train them to activate it! You’re selling a product! Stop acting as if it’s out of your hands! Or don’t sell it! I may as well have thrown 54.95 plus tax out my window! I will NEVER but another gift card! If u can’t cover what your selling! Don’t sell it! And train your employees! All of them! First on how to say “I’m sorry you’re having a issue. And I can’t fix it now. But if you come back on this day. Or, here’s my managers number” etc! That one sentence would have made the whole outcome different! I’m not a mean person in the least! I’ve worked in retail management for 25 years! Had one of my employees acted like that she’d have been written up, and retrained! And she wouldn’t have been sitting ? at the register! Acting as if I was a nuisance!
