Dollar General food/workers

The snacks they sell at the Dollar General in Mission, Tx located at 1700 E Griffin parkway are always expired. Even the baby snacks. I’m so tired of always getting or finding expired food here. On another note the workers are very rude, they are not attentive to customers. Two of the ladies there one named Juanita the other Cindy started locking the restrooms so no one other than the workers could use it. I kindly asked for the key they claimed it was broken yet Cindy went in there and used it. Mind you I was pregnant, Juanita simply said “it doesn’t work you can use the men’s one”. There’s another worker there her name is Vanessa, she fairly new she’s so rude and gives me this weird evil look. Very unprofessional staff. My experiences here at this DG have not been pleasant, I haven’t returned.

I don't see the issue with them offering for you to use the men's restroom. Also they most likely started locking the restrooms to cut down on theft.

Dollar General wrongful termination

In the almost 2 years that I worked for Dollar General, I submitted 4 UA's for the company. I was hired for management, but worked my way forward. The first time I was to be a keyholder, I was accused of being high at work. I was not fired, I was demoted. I worked very hard to restore my reputation, then had an issue with the GM, Tammy. A customer didn't like Tammy's lack of response to my DG Hello, and voiced it. From that moment on, Tammy believed it was me who had an attitude, and I struggled to keep my job, from then, tail she made my Assistant Manager fire me. The termination was stated- due to a failure to submit. I was late for work, the UA lab was late from lunch, and my Store Manager told me to re-take the UA another time. Tammy issued another UA paper, I went, I passed, then I worked as Lead Keyholder for a few weeks. After hiring several new employees, Tammy went back to the UA and had me fired. Claiming, failure to submit a UA. My record shows that I was terminated, customers I run into on the streets tell me I was fired because I failed a UA, and now I'm struggling to find work. I passed the last UA. Both my Store Manager and Assistant Manager did their best to keep Tammy off my back. I warned Zack, Store Manager that Tammy didn't like me, and he honestly thought I was over reacting. My Assistant Manager quit her job a week later, due to the issues with being forced to fire me and the hostile environment she was left with. I was not fired due to performance, I was fired for my personality. This letter is to inform Dollar General that I am seeking an Attorney to represent me for wrongful termination. The store number is 13220. Zack Campbell is Manager. Maria Gonzales was Assistant Manager. I used to love my job. Before the termination, I had the respect of my fellow employees and customers. Now, I'm struggling to find work. I'm a 52 year old woman and sole support for myself and my husband. I was terminated without explanation and even now, the exaction has not been expressed to me. If I was fired for a UA, then why did she issue another one? I've been told it's company policy, but, is it company policy to be told by your manager too it another day, then, after hires, fire you for the failure?Thank you for your time.

Florida is an at-will employment state, so legally they require no reason whatsoever to terminate you.

Dollar General employee

I was at the Dollar General Store on Seneca and 31st in Wichita Ks. There was a magazine there with Trumps picture on it. My husband made a comment to me about, That man could cure cancer people still wouldn't like him. Your cashier decided to let us know that if she had the chance she would shoot and take that man out! Then she states that must be very un-American of her, Doesn't matter I stand by my statement. I will no longer be shopping at this dollar store.

She is entitled to her opinion just as you are to yours. Employees are free-thinking individuals with thoughts and feelings, and it's a little surprising that the opinion of one individual is enough to deter your business.

I 100% guarantee you that if he cures cancer, people will like him.

No, I agree, all is entitled to their opinion. I did not call and try to have her fired or blah blah, I did not appreciate her opinion. A better way she could of stated her opinion could of been "Oh, I can't stand that man!" Not "shoot the man". While on the clock your opinion represents the company whom you work for. Talking of killing anyone should deter all to stay away from that individual, there are many dollar stores, I can go around the corner.

Dollar General employment

My husband applied for a job in the Manchester, ia store. He got an interview and never heard back from them. Since they have no male employees here, it makes it a discrimination case. It is only proper to respond to him. He even called the store and the manager didn't call him back. We keep getting emails saying they have jobs available. Could you check into it and see why they don't hire men. He only wanted evenings.

Dollar General employee is a con man

Employee at 1608 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA is an elitist and a con man. Ask him to do the job that he is paid to do. Stop trying to act like he is an expert on every product the store sells. I don't need his opinion on my decision to buy or not to buy this or that product. In plain and simple English, please keep your business out of my business. Get a life.

Dollar General position in n charleston sc

s-information/ I just wanted to tell my story I have been waiting weeks now for someone to call me back from corporate office I was hired on at. Dollar general first I had my interview on the 15th of November I received my higher on package with the store that was applied for in my hiring package the amount that was specified at the interview was not the same amount that I agree to be paid for. I tried calling Brian Hayes the person who interviewed me as it stayed in the hiring package to do . I never received a phone call back back from Brian. did my urine analysis and my background check received a phone call from the manager at the store that I was hired for. when I spoke with her I found out that they did not need me at that store they did not have the hours to give me that was promised me which was 40 hours and the amount of money that was being paid to me they said they could not pay me while I was doing my online training the district manager and the regional manager were there I spoke with the district manager and also the regional manager from this District that I was hired for they assured me that they would make sure that I got my 40 hours I would have to work at one store and travel to other stores when needed I agree to this because I'm a team player and I needed the job and the 40 hours I'm a single woman and I need 40 hours to survive I took a big pay cut to come to this company because I believe that I would move up into a better position for more money quickly that's what I was told during the interview with Brian Hayes . They were making changes and he wanted me to be part of that . since I had given my two weeks notice to my other job went into the specific store that I thought I would be working at to do my online training 3 days into this training I got a phone call from the district manager asking me if I would travel to another store across town I said I did not want to do that if I had been offered that store I would never taken the job since the store I was hired for was just down the street from where I lived . she informed me that they had nothing for me then and I was let go without a job. I called corporate office was sent to different places was told that I would be getting a phone call from someone I've never received a phone call and I just want to let everyone know this is not a company to work for I was excited to work there I've been wanting to work at General Dollar it was in my wheelhouse of what I wanted to do I was hired on as a general manager Brian Hayes thought that I could go in there and do a good job they were making changes and they wanted someone like me in there he was excited about me working there I haven't heard from him or anyone else I am Gravely disappointed in this company that I wasn't treated more fairly just as a fellow human being and a person I deserved at least a phone call from someone telling me what happened or not to worry that they would take care of it something. I feel they played with my life and I don't have any respect for this company for doing that. I left that day with them knowingly that I had no job. And they simply did not care. I know this is a fire higher state but we still have to care about each other. That's why the world is the way it is today people just don't care everyone's out for themselves. Especially these big corporations. I just wanted to let everyone know about Dollar General and how they treat their employees. So if you have to shop somewhere don't shop there. Cuz if they treat their employees that way they probably don't treat there customers any better

Dollar General online shopping

10/12/17 Tried to place an order online--would not go through--called customer service--their IT department making changes so NO one could place an order--hold it and try tomorrow
10/17/17--tried to place another order--on phone with Dollar General and my credit card company for 2 hours--making sure I was not going to be charges for all the 'place order here' I had clicked on
10/18/17--tried to complete the order already today and still not working

Why not work on your maintenance late at night--not prime time! Cannot shop at the local Dollar General as it is too filthy and employees rude and incompetent.

Dollar General the employee I talked to was rude

I had coupons. One was a dollar general Purex coupon and one was a manufacturer purex. I know I can use both together on one product. You could tell he was annoyed. He was not friendly at all. And he did not return my coupons for my purex. He said he was the manager on duty when he answered the phone to answer a question. He turned around to set the purex on other register and he was in such a fit that it fell on the ground. It was embarrassing as there were people waiting behind me and I asked why both didn't come off and he said I don't know. I just asked him to void the transaction instead. I wanted my coupons back..

Dollar General employee

When I recently visited the store located on keyser ave in Scranton PA
which I go to every weekend and enjoy the manager on duty whose name is Morgan who goes above and beyond and always has patience with me. But on the other hand the visit I had this past Saturday October 14, 2017 was not so pleasant. The only reason I am upset was because of the employee that was working on the other register. as I was checking out and Morgan was ringing me up and interacting with the customer which was myself asked the other employee for the keys for her register, now instead of walking them to my cashier Morgan this individual who name I believe is Arlene threw the keys across the store almost hitting my son in the head luckily my husband was standing there and blocked him from getting it. now this is very unprofessional and I know she is semi new because I don't see her that often but I would like this to be handled in some way and also the way her attitude is she should not be working in a customer service environment. Although I will continue going there because Morgan is my favorite employee and always helps me out and is so sweet and talkative.

Dollar General watertown, ny dm is beyond unprofessional

As a customer for 7 years plus to dollar general I will say, I will never step foot into Dollar general again.
I was accused by the district manager of the Watertown NY area of making counterfeit dollar general Surveys. Which in fact were all printed from me doing surveys online.
I have never met such an unprofessional person in my life. Not only is it clear that she makes the work environment for the workers & managers VERY hostile and VERY uneasy, but it is as if she is against couponers.
She has told her employees to not accept coupons, even if they scan.
The reason why people coupon, is to be able to afford the basic necessities for their family.
I am very upset at the way she acts towards her employees and the environment she has created. I will not be going back. I am sure if someone above her position, took the time to ask employees & customers themselves you would hear and see the same response and complaints I am stating here now.
It is unfortunate, but I foresee this area DG’s losing a lot of money.

Dollar General store #12637/rude & unprofessional/ manager & assistant manager

I have been going to this store from the day it opened. This store has good employee's for the most part. The one young man i believe his name tag said Jose goes above and beyond. Speaks as soon as you walk in the door. Always wanting to know if he can help you with anything. This young man is always polite, and well-mannered. Always is a good mood. He always gets compliments from customers when I'm in the store. He is the only reason i still go to this store at this point because the Manager & Assistant Manager are rude and unprofessional. If a cashier has to call then to help with something they roll their eye's and make smart comments with customers standing there. The same thing if they are called for a return. I have been in the store several times when the management is doing nothing but laughing and playing throwing things at each other with customers in the store. I have been in the store when the assistant manager was fighting with some man about money. By the way it sound it was her husband or boyfriend . It's a shame when you have regular employee's that are more professional than your management . Several times it has been after 8:00 when the assistant manager gets to work. People are standing outside waiting . A lot leave but some stand outside waiting . I have been in the store and heard management telling cashier's that they don't worry about getting in trouble or let go because they cover for each other when someone complains and they laugh about it. This Dollar General could be a 5 star store if it wasn't for the management . Just let me say this is not the 1st time i filed a complaint . I also know othet customers that have filed complaint's and nothing is ever done. I also know that if Dollar General don't take action with this complaint we will be taking our complaints to the local news station.

Dollar General cashier using cellphone at register

On 10/15/17 I came in the dollar general in holly hill. As I was coming to check out at the first register I saw the cashier texting on her phone. I had a family member that use to work for dollar general and I know they are not suppose to have their phone visible. I've seen this quite a few times when I came in there. This is bad customer service. Cause she's suppose to be concentrating on the customers not her phone.

Dollar General service/thievery

On Sunday 10/15/2017 I went Store #14967. I picked up antifreeze, some goodies, and tooth paste. I placed everything on the counter and nothing was left so of course I paid for the all my items and left. When I arrived home I noticed I was missing toothpaste. I checked my receipt and low and behold she didn't charge me for toothpaste though she took everything I placed on the counter. What an excellent way to steal something that you need without paying for it! I rarely stop at this store because of some many standing around to asked for money or whatever, but this manager was supposedly a manager or supervisor? I have never had this happen to me at other stores, but I am posting on the McKeesport website also to beware of this person. Poor, poor professionalism and she is a thief to boot!

I to have seen what goes on in Lincoln Arkansas only what I saw was the big girl
I think her name is Belinda with a straw stuck down in a little plastic bag and
sniff it my guess is it was Meth, I have seen on several occasion's a guy park beside her
car open her door and put something in the center console and take what looked like money
get back in his truck and drive off, 2 plus 2 is 4
I have spent a lot of money in that store but I'm not going back until its cleaned up
those people should be fired on the spot and arrested ...please do something about this because
Id like to start shopping there again but not while a bunch of drug addicts are running the place

I live in Lincoln Arkansas
and shop at at a few other DG stores in the area and have to tell you that store is the only one that stays open till midnight
baring in mind that that it is the only thing open for at least 30 miles in any direction < if you people don't think something bad probably wont happen then your sadley mistaken, theresno cop theres no security measures at all only women working and usually just 2 I worry for your hard working employees safety they have 5 people during the day and only 2 women at night >how smart is that ?the other thing that myself and several of my friends have witnessed first hand is when they are slow
the employees are outside smoking pot and one of them even ask my friend if she wanted to by some we were shocked
one of the girls hand red hair tall thin and rude the other one who does most of the talking is a big girl with long dark hair
and the GM and DM are a joke obviously they are not happy at home well myself and my friends will never spend dime there until the drug dealers and pot smoker are gone that used to be a good place to shop but poorly trained and not motivated mangers will eventually get someone hurt but the pot smoking thing is unbelievable and right in the front door not trying to hide
and its been going on a long time shame on you foolish management for letting it happen I tell everyone I see about it I don't want to but that's just not right when there are a lot of people in this that really need jobs and wood earn there money and wont not come to work to smoke pot sell dope in the parking lot to supplement there in come because they don't get paid enough to live on and I guess the real killer is paying people to smoke dope and steal while at work that's not how its dome here if I caught someone stealing or committing a felony on my property I fired them on the spot and have them arrested that the only way to send a clear signal and if you have trouble finding replacement's well that's what I pay my mangers the big bucks for

Dollar General poor service.. very unhappy

I was purchasing my items at the counter when I noticed that the was a bucket of breast cancer awareness pens marked at 25% off and a yellow sticker with 75 cents on it so I asked the very rude cashiersierra how much were the pens she said $1.00 so I told Hertha the bucket says 25% off and she replied no somebody put those in there with an attitude...I assumed she was saying I did when her eyes were looking at me the entire time... She called the manager Rosie and asked how much were they and Rosie replied let her check so she pulled out a scanner and replied they were 1.00 I asked if I could get them for 25% off since the sticker was priced at that price sierra replied that's up to her she the only person to make those changes and grabbed the pens snatched the sticker of the bucket and threw the pens back in the bucket saying something in a low voice... The situation was was handled in a very unprofessional way both the manager and the cashier were rude.. I'm a Asst. Manager at IHOP in Spanish Fort and also a manager at Checkers so I know customer service skills... I will never shop at the store again... I put everything I was about to purchase back

Dollar General filthy store.

I am writing to inform you of the constant horrible condition of your store # [protected] Mogadore Rd. In Akron, OH. I have held off writing you because I spent many years in retail and I know how difficult it is at times. I also spent several years as a vendor in your stores in the Canton OH area and your District Manager there always made sure that the store managers kept their stores spotless.

Every time I am in this particular store it is a pig sty. Shelves are often empty but carts full of product are all over the place with no one really working them. There is always trash on the floor. There is product strewn all over the floor. I have seen things dumped on the floor near the under register battery display that has literally sat there for months. And it does not matter the time of the day, I have been there ten minutes after the store opened and it looked this way. I have pictures but I can't attach them.

Dollar General sexual harassment by employee to a customer.

The employee Mike had been flirting with my wife regularly when she came in. Seeing as I have mental health disorders I don't go shopping myself often so she tended to go alone. After getting uncomfortable with it I went in with my wife as to identify her as taken to help my wife feel more comfortable shopping there as the location is two blocks from our home. After we shopped together and clearly identified ourselves to him in casual conversation that we were married to him, we continued with our usual habits of her shopping alone. At this point his advances became more blantant as he openly discussed his jealousy. My wife then felt uncomfortable going at all. At this point I went in and talked to his manager. At this point the manager was very polite, helpful, and apologetic. He spoke with the employee and offered for me and my wife to come back in and they would apologize to her personally. After informing my wife of this she slowly started going back, together at first and more recently alone. That is until today when after going back alone she was confronted once again by his advances while stating his still persistent jealously. Now knowing that his store manager already spoke to him about this, and that it has continued I see fit for nothing short of termination. I do not want this to tarnish my impression of the Dollar General company that I have grown affectionate of over the years, however if I return to see that this employee is still employed that will change.
Thank you for your time.

Dollar General a work at moss bluff la on jones sam houston parkway nichole reeves

On Oct 13, 2017 several kids went in to the store. My daughter and her boyfriend went in to by stuff they knew the kids but were not really doing the stuff the other kids were doing they went in to get a couple of things and I get a text message from this employee husband saying my daughter and her boyfriend destroyed her store. I ask for them to please send the video where I could jump my daughter butt for doing stupid stuff. Neither he or her boyfriend where on the video. They know the kids on the videos names and I gave that information to her. Her husband was talk crap to me telling me your kid was doing it to and she had nothing to do with it. I felt bad because the kids that they know did something like that and I was going to have them go apologize to her for there friend behavior and they are no long allow to be around those kids. I went to the store this morning to get Bobby pins and flower to make somethings for home coming and she seen the kids and started screaming at them. My daughter at that time says there she is. I turn around and she starts srcreamimg at me to get out of her store. I do not like the fact that I was treated that way with people in that store and I also do not think it is right for her to try to kick the kids out when they were not the ones that messed up her store. Not only that she share the information with her husband and her daughter so they have been blasting my daughter out on snap chat as a bad person and I feel y’all need to get a handle on her because you can not put a label on a person because your company could be sued for her action. Y’all need to make a surprise trip to that store because it is always a mess just FYI. Misty Gray

Dollar General store service

The Rushville In store is a joke. The new manager does nothing but smoke, come into store drunk, tries to get men etc. I hear she has even sent her manager a few pictures. The store is always a mess and only one person working. It is known that you have cameras why don't you view them and see that she don't work. And isn't it a violation for her 2 be running someone else's drawer under their number and that person isn't even there? Rushville's store is the [censor]/[censor] store. Your manager worked for UPS and got fired. Hmmmm wonder why.
