Dollar General All Edy’s Ice cream thawed

On August 26th, 4:10pm, someone was stocking the freezers when I went to get some ice cream. When I picked up the container it was completely soft, melted liquid. I asked if this was just unloaded and he said said yes. I went to a second Dollar General about 3 miles away. No one was unloading at the time but the ice cream container was also soft. I’ve thought the pizza has tasted off before and the toppings moved. Perhaps this is for the same reason.

Desired outcome: Answer to: Is this safe? Do the trucks have proper refrigeration/freezer for this climate?

Dollar General Employee hours and pay

I am a manager one under the right hand person of the store manager. I am supposed to be full time but only getting 23 to 25 hours and also I'm only getting $11 dollar's a hour. I think it's not right when the store manager is giving herself over 50 hours a week and the one under her over 37 hours which getting paid over 16 dollar's an hour. And also there is a lot of scandalous thangs going on at my store like singling people out (like myself) with Avery thing, not getting both sides of story, talking crap that's not true about others, back stabbing, Not giving credit ware credit is do and etc and it goes on and on don't have space or finger power to tip it all.I am the most hardest, people friendly compliant work at this store what can I do to resolve this?

The head store manager is paid celery (not by the hour). Sounds like your manager got pressured into working more hours without the benefit of getting paid more.

Dollar General ecoupons

I routinely shop Dollar General on Saturdays, I use the app download my coupon and go to the store. I did my routine as usual this morning however the store could not honor my ecoupons and made no apology for the problem.

I should have left the $94.65 worth of items I purchased but I didn't. I bought several items due to having coupons which I would not have purchased otherwise. After having this discussion with the manager, she told me there was nothing she could do, she even verified that the coupons we in my phone, and the coupons expired today.

There were several items that were mispriced, however I did not notice that problem until going over my receipt due to not getting my coupons honored.

I know I am just 1 person but this is my usual Saturday routine, which I may have to change..

Dollar General Dollar General

Unfortunately I don’t know the truck number, But I just almost got ran off the road by one of your trucks. At 4:10 PM near the Loudon Tennessee exit. It is exit 72. I tried to look for a number on the truck but couldn’t find one. I was in the left lane, and as I was beside the truck it started coming over into my lane. I smashed in the horn, but he continue to pull over so I had to swerve onto the shoulder. Luckily there was a shoulder there, because a few yards in front of me was a bridge.

Desired outcome: I just want Dollar General to be aware that their truck drivers aren’t paying attention

Dollar General Store associate

Today August 23 around 2:53 I entered the Dollar General on Warrior River Rd in Bessemer Al. I walked in and went to use the ladies room. The door said get key from associate. So I walked to cashier and asked could I please have the key for the ladies room to which he replied NO. I said sir you do realize I am a paying customer to which he replied it’s out of order. I then said there was no sign on the door to which he then replied I said NO! And I hold the keys. So of course I had taken about enough of his rudeness and replied thanks [censored] and I walked out. I will never shop at the store ever again if that’s the way I will be treated. I work in customer service and daily I feel like being ugly but I don’t I turn to them smile and ask how can I be of service. That young man was out of line. Have a great rest of your day

Desired outcome: At the very least he should be be reprimanded. Everyone needs their jobs but he should be reminded he works in customer service and when someone is polite you should mirror that. Even if they aren’t polite you should be.

Dollar General Overcharging

I visited Dollar General in Sumiton, AL and purchased several items. After the items were totaled and paid for, I was asked if I wanted my receipt. After reviewing my receipt, I noticed that several items purchased were higher than advertised, and there was an item that was scanned twice! After bringing attention to the cashier, he left to get another associate to assist. The associate proceeded to tell me that it happened all the time. The reason provided was that the store was short staffed and they had no one to check prices. She wanted to know what items were wrong, I told her there were too many items for me to verify. I ended up getting a refund on all the items purchased. Moral of the story: Please check your receipts and verify the prices!

You did the right thing and so did they. A good result if I do say so. As an employee if an item is on sale and it's ringing up the regular price, we are supposed to give it to them at the sale price- its only good business.

Dollar General Declined check

I went in to Dollar General today to purchase a few items and write a check for my purchase as a have done many times before. The clerk ran it through his machine a couple of times and said it was declined and he would have to get the manager. I have never bounced a check to Dollar General or anyone else in over 25 years of writing checks. The manager came in from outside, from what appeared to be using drugs in the parking lot and told me that I would have to pay with cash or leave the store and maybe I should put money in my account, there is over $5000, by the way.

Dollar General Poor management

I have worked for this company for over a year and for the most part it was great. Until the store manager changed. The store manager I have now is rude and likes to write me up for things that are false and I can prove it. I have text messages from me and her that supports the fact that I’m right. And I can get the associate that was working with me that night to write an affidavit if needed. Plus I can get non(old) employees to write affidavits that say that she “had it out for me” because she treats me differently than that of other employees and it’s making the work environment hostile. I used to like going to work but not anymore. You can ask any customer that has ever walked in that store if I am ever rude or not busy or anything and I can guarantee you that answer will be no! I am the assistant manager but am treated like a nobody. And I’m tired of doing my job and hers because she’s not good at it! You can ask anybody! The store has went downhill as far as cleanliness and appearance since the manager change. You can clearly tell.

Desired outcome: I would like my manager to be put in her place and understand that she can lose her position as fast as she got it because she doesn’t know how to be an effective manager. Or I would like a face to face meeting with my dm.

Dollar General dollar general risk management

Im 69 years old...fell in dollar general parking lot pothole and have bad sprain right ankle contusions on left and right legs...elbows and hand. I had trip to er and am so sore all over from the fall. had to cancel all appointments for the week and am off my feet for at least 7 days. I cannot reach anyone to file insurance or complaint. this is another example of how large corporations get away with everything in the US these days and have absolutely free reign to ignore a customer complainrt with little worry of any real retaliation. i think they hope to wear one down so youll just go away...well i WONT go away. that pothole needs fixed asap before someone older than me falls and breaks a hip or worse. shame on you dg for so little concern for your patrons.

Dollar General Unqualified Boss

I am a current employee at store #20635 in Grundy, Virginia. The owner of the store is named Becky Lester, and I truly believe she isn't qualified to run the store.

As far as I'm aware, she hardly does any work for the store, yet will make the schedules to where she gets most of the hours while the rest of us barely get any. Recently, I've been informed that she has been talking bad behind my back for no reason, as I always try my best and do what I am supposed to do and then some. Because of this, she has only scheduled me one day a week despite me begging her for more hours before; this is not a livable wage and she knows that.

I even learned that she threatened to cut someone's hours if they refused to be a keyholder, which is a violation of Chapter 3, subsection 40. 1-27.3 for worker's protection within Virginia if I'm correct. This needs to be spread out more so hopefully this store can be saved and we get a better owner, along with better scheduling.

Desired outcome: I would like for Becky Lester to be replaced as owner of this store, as she has made it clear she can not handle it.

Dollar General Cashiers & management store policy -- Shoppers can't have Backpacks or Totes in store!

Due to allegedly a large amount of theft in local stores in my town, the clerks & management workers are always telling me I must leave my backpack at front of store!

I don't give a rats hind end if it is store policy. My backpack has been compromised before & now stays with me at all times! I'm NOT A THIEF OR CRIMINAL EITHER! I use a backpack to get goods home after purchasing them. I shop there monthly... Now they won't get a friggin scrap of my money anymore cause the clerks are SO EFFING RUDE !

Cashier even dared to skip me in line then proceed to have her manager bully me after she did, about the NO Backpacks rule... Just finish my transaction please! I am BUYING 2 ITEMS, so why they wanna be such KARENS, huh!? For Crikeys sake... go back to Management School & learn some real customer service please

Desired outcome: For these Discriminatory Practices to be stopped! Or they are just itching for lawsuits

My store does the same thing. Backpacks and bags up front. That's the rules. Don't like it don't come in. Yes, you are allowed to put the bags behind the register.

Maybe you should try and understand their reasoning for leaving the backpack. You could ask them to put it behind the counter with cashier so it’s safe. Sad but true it’s the world we live in. Although you are honest many are not.

Dollar General Customer Complaint about treatment issues.

Went shopping for sandwich meats and some items. Store was a mess and started down the isle. Told a women in the floor i had to squeeze by her. I pushed an empty milk container away from us and she jumped up screaming she was trying to stock the shelves. I then was embarrassed and said I was trying to shop. Sounded like she mumbled she couldn't do her job because you people. I pushed my cart aside and left the Aisle. She yelled and said for me to put that damn meat up. I yelled back saying you said you where working you put it up. I went looking for a manager only to discover she was it.

Desired outcome: change of management and apology. Need some kind of outcome to satisfy how I was treated by your employee

Dollar General The Ac unit broken

I am an employee at store02220 in winnie, texas. Last year our ac unit (s) were in need of repair. This year they don't work at all. We have been waiting ona part since the beginning of this year. The temperature reaches close to 98 some days and most days we see a temp of 95. When you are working, moving about stocking etc. The heat is unbearable. 3. Employees and myself totalling 4 employees have thrown up had bad bad headaches, and fatigue from the heat. Why?

Dollar General Gift card winner email

I filled out a survey on my receipt I received when I shopped at Dollar General in Weare, N.H. I did just for fun but soon after I received an email stating I won a $500 gift card from Dollar General which I was so excited about, and it was so unexpected. I know the email is connected to the survey but Dollar General claims it happens without their knowledge. The email wouldn't let me submit my claim or do anything at all with the email. I have submitted a photo I took of proof because it was all very disappointing and annoying. I am a 70-year-old retired widow who took the time to say how much I like Dollar General and feel hurt by this all and surveys are always quite long, funny that, and want all your personal information, odd that but I do them on occasion just for fun and hoping to get lucky. These are desperate times so to be disappointed by something like this is so very sad and annoying and makes one feel bad. The receipt from Dollar General asks you to fill out a survey and give your opinions on the store and your shopping experience and you get a chance to win a $500 gift certificate. This has not been resolved, I tried the survey for the gift card, used the DG store receipt for the website. I have has so many scam calls, at least 20 a day, bombarded my emails, and chrome ads I have to delete my email account. Sooo many phone calls a DAY and all are scams! Can't believe DG is passing our info to scams! So mad! So far no response from DG. I can't seem to remove my info from this stupid survey! BEWARE!

Dollar General Extremely unprofessional, combative, rude cashier

We checked out at 12:35 PM on 8/5/2022. Store # 7784.

There was a sale on Cokes - buy 2 & get the 3rd for free. It charged me for 3. The manager came out and explained that when the cashier hit “Pay” it would take the 3rd cokes off. But that didn’t happen. The cashier told me she couldn’t help us because she didn't know how to take it off. We hit the call button several times - waited 10 mins before I had to go find a manager.

The cashier’s demeanor was negative. My elderly mother asked the cashier a question & the look she gave my mother was so hostile. I told my mother “don’t ask - don’t worry about that”. To which the cashier bowed up at me & said “why are you talking about me like I’m not here?!” She proceeded to tell me I need to get a new life.

She continued to ramble, became more combative when I asked her name - she didn't have a name tag. She refused to give her name. She heckled us loudly to the other customers. The manager never said a word to this person. This is beyond unacceptable. She is about 5’6”, medium build, black hair, wears braids.

Desired outcome: Remove this cashier from any interaction with the public. She needs to attend conflict resolution classes. Management and staff need courses in customer service. Managers need help on dealing with combative employees.

Dollar general store #13733,115 interstate drive south, jasper, ga 30143 manager name melissa! was very rude to all customers standing and waiting to get checked out but there is this young girl with her little boy standing there being yelled at and melissa holler out self checkout is open so loud it hurt the little child ears.. why melissa keep saying it over and over about self checkout why complain about the self checkout that the store got.. not everybody care to use self checkout.. if this melissa going to be rude to customers again should be fired before she hurts customers especially little children... she needs mental and phyiscial help... there are eldery people can't tolerate ugliness from employees and manager... why hired people with mental problems.

Today my daughter and I went into the dollar General store located on Old Murphy Rd , Franklin NC , we had some items when my daughter asked about a toy that was on the top shelf, there was a step setting right in front of us so I used it to look on the top shelf, I told her this step works great , I am going to buy it too , I used it a couple more times, buy the time I got to the register I said I really don't need it and after I pay for our stuff i will put it back, well about that time a big red headed woman came storming from a room behind the register run behind us grabbed the step and throwed into a buggy and said don't touch our stuff? I thought they sold stuff that was in the store ? I guess we will stick to Wal-Mart,,,, who knows how she will react to something bad ,,, we still bought our stuff but not the step ,
