Dollar General Racist Manager

I visited Store #08519 in Carolina Beach, NC on 8/21/22. The manager, who was a white manager, commented to me as I walking to the register, that the beach umbrella I was purchasing was not refundable. There were white persons also buying beach items and she did not direct her comments to them. When I got to the register, she instructed the older male cashier to write the words "Non Returnable" on my receipt, despite the fact that he was not instructed to write those words on any other person's receipt and the fact that there was no sign indicating the purchase was a final sale/not returnable. I had no intention of using the umbrella and trying to return it - she clearly assumed I would do so because I am a black woman. I was visiting from out of town and have not encountered such blatant discrimination in a very long time.

Desired outcome: Fire or discipline this manager and have her provide an apology for her rude/discriminatory behavior.

Dollar General Shelves not stocked, Items in aisles

Store #18401 (Sullivan Gardens) This store has been going down since the lady that is manager now has had the job. The shelves are not stocked and the aisles are hard to get thru because of the merchandise sitting in the floor. I go there often to get specific items. Most of the time I can get one of the workers to go to the stock room and get it for me. Today the dog feed shelves were empty so I went to store #23420 (Fall Branch) I was amazed. The shelves were full, a good selection of dog feed, and the store was clean. There is just a few miles between these stores I why can't my store be managed better?

Desired outcome: Put the stock that is sitting in the back on the shelves.

Dollar General I am complaining about the store in milaca, mn.

This store is an absolute mess. The cleanliness is terrible. There are carts shoved down half the aisles which makes it impossible to find anything. I talked with the manager and she said its because corporate keeps sending trucks with merchandise and they have no place to store it so they put it on carts in the middle of the aisles. Something needs to be done asap. If corporate came to this store and saw what was going on in there i think they would be appaled.

Desired outcome: I WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO INTO THIS STORE AND ACTUALLY SHOP FOR STUFF. I WOULD ALSO LIKE THE STORE TO AT LEAST LOOK CLEAN. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE MESS.

Dollar General Customer service

I purchased a spendwell card at your store in Hutchinson KS store # 02484 on 08/06/22 barcode 4366 $100 put on the card . The card was lost I cotacted Spendwell several times . the Temp card was lost I have the cash register slip where I paid $100 to the Dollar general store I have the hard cardboard case the card came in with the same bar code last 4 numbers 4366 and provided my Kansas DL front and back my sales slip from the dollar general store & the hard plastic case the temp card came in and my only responce I get is they are sorry with out the card # ? I reported it lost I do not have it or I would not be calling you . I find it hard to believe the hassle I have been through attempting to have my $100 put on a new card that was never activated or used . I do not work for the Dollar general store or Spendwell bank. I have tried since 08/06/22 through costomer service to resolve this issue and the only responce on a recorded line I get is if they had the card number ? I find it hard to believe in a customer service position they hold still have a job . I believe there is a way that with my cardboard case the card came in and a sales slip that shows $100 was to be put on the card No one can provide me with an answer as to How do I get my $100 dollars put on a new card I find very hard to believe would ever be allowed to happen to a law abiding citizen in the united States of America My complaint is I attempted to speak with your store manager in Hutchinson KS store #02484 and was advised to lower my voice or she would call the police and have me removed from the store instead of trying to resolve this issue better be glad she didnt work for me as she would be looking for a new job as I have held several mgr jobs and been in customer service positions placed #1 in a chain of 200 stores know how important every $ that comes through the door be respected and not lost by a so called store manager that would disrespect the fact many like her there would not be no General Dollar Stores I thank you for allowing my cry for help be heard with some respect to this issue Kevin Teter 417 west Sherman Hutchinson KS 67501 [protected] email [protected]@gmail.com

Dollar General Employment

I applied for a job with dollar general over two months ago where I live, I got called in for a interview and was told by the manager that I had a hiring package coming, I waited and waited and quit the job I had because I was told that I was hired. The manager that hired me got fired for some reason I went back two the store to ask about my employment and there was a new manager who informed me that they were fully staffed and needed no help she was also rude and disrespectful so needless to say I didn't have a job. I have applied for another job with Dollar General and they want to put me to work but the first store I applied at has my application in hold up. I have absolutely nothing on my background and can work full time anyway of the week. Why am I not working yet and can anyone help me. I have contacted DG corporate and get the run around.

Desired outcome: Would love to go to work asap

Dollar General The state of the store.

09/16/2022 Refer to photos. This is always. When it gets somewhat caught up, enough to get to most items, it's back to the non stocking within a few days. Anyone can see there are never enough employees. Expecting a cashier to also be the stocker for the whole store is so unrealistic. Every time I have been there, I can see that the manager tries, but she cannot keep up with this on her own.

Desired outcome: Go to the Unemployment Ofc and find people to stock shelves. Customers can barely walk through the store, & cannot buy anything from blocked shelves. Many shelves are not stocked. Waiting for employees to come to you is not working.

DG cut payroll for all their stores. No extra help or hours. It does not matter if the store is dirty, under stocked, cluttered isles and the employees are unhappy. They are making money.

Dollar General Hiring process

I applied for a job with Dollar general over a month and a half ago, every job search I have done says they desperately need help, I have nothing on my background and plenty of experience why am I not working by now? I have called corporate headquarters and get the run around.. They need good employees and I would be a good asset for them but I feel they don't want good employees.

This store has been closed more weeks than open days. It will be open one day nothing stocked anywhere and boxes and crates all over. Cant even walk down an aisle. They will hang a closed sign on the door and be closed for weeks at a a time. Literally weeks. Everytime I walk down it will never be open and when the one chance it is open, nothing is ever...

Dollar General manager and a cashier at dollar general

My name is Debra and I am a regular customer at this particular Dollar General ,I seriously go into this store 4 to 7 times a day and one evening my car had broken down so i walked to the store and purchased several items and then realized that i was walking so i asked to leave the items in the store and get them the next morning but the manager said no and so i said that i would just sit them outside and walk back and get them later but the employ cashier said that she would put them in her car and bring them back the next day and i would get them from her then but when I came back the next day to get my things the cashier said she didnt know what happened to them, I said you dont know what happened to them and she said she didnt know if maybe she put them back on the shelf or what and that she really didnt remember and i said to her , your a grown woman but you dont remember if you put my stuff back on the shelf or not so i left a complaint for the manager Beth and 2 days later when she got back to work i walked back over there to store and she said that she looked at the monitors because the cashier said she left my things outside that night and on the monitor there was a guy that came by and snatched my things. I KNOW I HAD $3O DOLLARS WORTH OF MERCHADISE IN TE BAG AND ALSO THE RECIEPT AND THE REST OF MY CHANGE FROM THAT TRANSACTION but i do not believe in any way that she left my merchandise outside and i believe the manager Beth and the cashier are lying and they both know exactly what happened to it. I am very upset because i have already called and someone was suppose to get back with me from things store which i believe is a waste of time and would like someone of higher status to take care of this situation please. i want my merchandise and the rest of my money or i want them both demoted or take responsibility for their actions. Dollar General Truck Driver

Myself, my husband and my 2 toddlers were driving home on the Florida Turnpike today 09/06/2022 @ 10:50am. A Dollar General semi truck started to swerve into our lane and did not reposition himself back into his lane until we laid on our horn. We have a camper on top of our truck bed that we're towing which makes us very top heavy and easy to flip. If it wasn't for my husband swerving onto shoulder then the semi would have hit us. He had the nerve to get an attitude with us and start honking at us when we were the ones ran off the road because of his reckless driving. We were able to get the truck tag number. I was falsely accused of shoplifting and humiliated in front of customers at Dollar General 924 Margrace Rd Kings Mountain NC 28086 store # 19497 on September 02, 2022 @ 19:52:08 (7:52 pm) by employee name Kellie saying she seen me stealing but no proof at all, now I'm being watched and my name is ruined! Dollar General Outside of building.

Store #14822 today 08/31/2022 in Kingsland Ga needs to clean up the outside of this building. This location is in a very nice part of Laurel Island Country Club in Kingsland and is bringing down this part of town. There is no reason for weeds to be growing up in the shrubs and trash in the parking lot. The pictures below show what it looks like everyday for the last several months. Please help clean up this store.

All maintenance including landscaping is done through DG corp. The manager will have to "put in a ticket" and hope DG corp. will hire a landscaping company to do the job.

Dollar General Manager

Bashes all her employees to customers when she is there. She has nothing nice to say about her employees I have heard how she will take it out on them by cutting hours if she is mad at them. The Employees there are doing the best that they can with the amount of stuff I have seen them have to do. They are doing an excellent job. I have friends that go to the store to shop but if they see the managers car they will go to another store only because they dont want to listen to her bash everyone that works for her. But everytime I go which is usually mornings before I go to work I would say I stop at least 5 out of 7 days and she is hardly there working.

This is true! a lot of people are very upset with her actions she is a new/old store manager I believe her name is Belinda we live close by and have been a regular for a few years a lot of us town locals DG regulars won’t even step a foot in there anymore i do worry about the workers working under her . she is so terrible to them, bad mouthing each one and they work twice as hard as Anyone has ever seen her work. She doesn’t allow her employees having conversation with us the customer at all, one day I overheard her stressing it to one of her workers not to talk to the costumers. I thought costumer service was what it’s all about ?not with this woman a lot of us attend the church across the street every weekend and she has one person alone most of the day doing it all while trucks are coming in so she can have her personal day, and when it’s time for her to go she will run out the door I have witnessed that she won’t answer not one questions and ignores her employees it’s really very sad to watch this store turn upside down like this. I feel so bad for her employees they work so hard and are always so helpful, kindly and always smiling . it’s what kept us locals coming back! but a lot of us have seen and had enough they are losing great workers due to her terrible ways I honestly dread going in now a days . I would never and could never work for someone like this also glad I never will. However i feel for her employees working so hard and have to put up with it maybe I can be a voice for them, it’s a terrible thing to witness how she talks to them and works them. And I did go get her full name Belinda Miles , well it is the name she gave me when I asked her for it. So who really knows definitely Agree Something should be done DG!

Dollar General All Edy’s Ice cream thawed

On August 26th, 4:10pm, someone was stocking the freezers when I went to get some ice cream. When I picked up the container it was completely soft, melted liquid. I asked if this was just unloaded and he said said yes. I went to a second Dollar General about 3 miles away. No one was unloading at the time but the ice cream container was also soft. I’ve thought the pizza has tasted off before and the toppings moved. Perhaps this is for the same reason.

Desired outcome: Answer to: Is this safe? Do the trucks have proper refrigeration/freezer for this climate?

Dollar General Employee hours and pay

I am a manager one under the right hand person of the store manager. I am supposed to be full time but only getting 23 to 25 hours and also I'm only getting $11 dollar's a hour. I think it's not right when the store manager is giving herself over 50 hours a week and the one under her over 37 hours which getting paid over 16 dollar's an hour. And also there is a lot of scandalous thangs going on at my store like singling people out (like myself) with Avery thing, not getting both sides of story, talking crap that's not true about others, back stabbing, Not giving credit ware credit is do and etc and it goes on and on don't have space or finger power to tip it all.I am the most hardest, people friendly compliant work at this store what can I do to resolve this?

The head store manager is paid celery (not by the hour). Sounds like your manager got pressured into working more hours without the benefit of getting paid more.

Dollar General ecoupons

I routinely shop Dollar General on Saturdays, I use the app download my coupon and go to the store. I did my routine as usual this morning however the store could not honor my ecoupons and made no apology for the problem.

I should have left the $94.65 worth of items I purchased but I didn't. I bought several items due to having coupons which I would not have purchased otherwise. After having this discussion with the manager, she told me there was nothing she could do, she even verified that the coupons we in my phone, and the coupons expired today.

There were several items that were mispriced, however I did not notice that problem until going over my receipt due to not getting my coupons honored.

I know I am just 1 person but this is my usual Saturday routine, which I may have to change..

Dollar General Dollar General

Unfortunately I don’t know the truck number, But I just almost got ran off the road by one of your trucks. At 4:10 PM near the Loudon Tennessee exit. It is exit 72. I tried to look for a number on the truck but couldn’t find one. I was in the left lane, and as I was beside the truck it started coming over into my lane. I smashed in the horn, but he continue to pull over so I had to swerve onto the shoulder. Luckily there was a shoulder there, because a few yards in front of me was a bridge.

Desired outcome: I just want Dollar General to be aware that their truck drivers aren’t paying attention

Dollar General Store associate

Today August 23 around 2:53 I entered the Dollar General on Warrior River Rd in Bessemer Al. I walked in and went to use the ladies room. The door said get key from associate. So I walked to cashier and asked could I please have the key for the ladies room to which he replied NO. I said sir you do realize I am a paying customer to which he replied it’s out of order. I then said there was no sign on the door to which he then replied I said NO! And I hold the keys. So of course I had taken about enough of his rudeness and replied thanks [censored] and I walked out. I will never shop at the store ever again if that’s the way I will be treated. I work in customer service and daily I feel like being ugly but I don’t I turn to them smile and ask how can I be of service. That young man was out of line. Have a great rest of your day

Desired outcome: At the very least he should be be reprimanded. Everyone needs their jobs but he should be reminded he works in customer service and when someone is polite you should mirror that. Even if they aren’t polite you should be.
