I have been shopping at the Dollar General on Broadway St in Cape for 2 years now and I love that store. About 2 days ago I came in after being at Fred's. I had made a small purchase at Freds and stuck the items in my purse. Proceeded to The DG on Broadway. Spent about $40.00 that time. As I was exiting the store the alarm went off so I came back like Malaina had asked but it didn't go off upon my reentry or departure again. Later that evening I found out through some ppl we know that she was telling the customers and her boss that I was stealing. The next day my boyfriend had went back to DG and upon his arrival at DG on Broadway, Malaina followed him around the store and proceeded to make sexual advances and remarks to him. Today 05/31/2018 I went again to DG and Malaina was Checker. As I checked out she was staring at me with a look of hate and when she went to give me my change she shoved it at me. Same evening me and my bf went yet again and Malaina was shouting to the customers how she was gonna go psycho [censored] on someone just because a kid was stealing earlier and of course lied to her about it. Do we have to be subject to these kind of people when we choose to spend our money in your store? I'm offended that she even said that about me and at the way she treated my BF. I spend on average $240.00 a month At this DG location, and im called a Thief?

I have been to store number 13124 on Martin luther king jr dr in Lumberton a few times in the past 2 weeks Different times I went to pick up a product off the shelf and a spider was on it So I left it there got a few other things and went to pay The cashier was very nice Her face was blood shot red and sweating It was really hot in the store She had a box fan on but it was not helping Another time I saw a spider on the counter and just left That store needs a good cleaning and spray for bugs If you have bugs in store you have bugs in your product I understand it gets hot here in Lumberton but it should not be cooler outside the store then in Someone is going to pass out in that store or get bite by something If I go back I will take Pictures of it It was just nasty

I stopped by the dollar general in our hometown of Huntington, Texas. It's a really small country town. This day was like so many other days inside the building with the exception your manager threw me out of the store. We had just came in from vacation. I gathered my things and approached the front. I hade 25 or so items. No one was at the register! That's how it always is there already so most folks refuse to stop there. I walked through the store looking for someone to check me out. No luck! Then I walked and called out does anyone work here? Finally after many minutes a red headed girl approached the register giggling. After driving for several hours already I asked her why it is that there is never anyone at the front of this store working the register. Again she giggled and I said that"it was ridiculous and I can't understand why it's like this"! Mind you I work in very much a hands on and service industry that deals with many people everyday! I took out my things and my husband was on his way in wondering why was taking so long. They reminded me my daughter needed two medications from there I forgot. So I went back in and I was looking and the girl started laughing and smiling again. There was a man leaning up against the wall texting and wearing ear buds. He is always on the phone and listening to something and not helping every time you go there anyhow. I said who's the manager and he said he was! I said to him" why can't you get anyone to take the money people are trying to spend there. I got no response at first cause he was texting and didn't have time for me. I said never mind and went to get the medicine. I said your not interested in my complaint cause your on the phone. You do not give a damn, I said that! I said I will be contacting your boss and their boss. He then proceeded to tell me it was none of my damn business what he was texting or who he was texting on his phone. I said whatever! This is crazy! He hovered over me screaming at my 5 foot 2 inch small self! He said you get out of my damn store! I said not until I get the medicine. He said you will get out now! He tried to force me manually nudging me. I said don't you touch me! He hurried me so fast yelling and nudging me that leave was the only thing to do! I find that anyone who doesn't respect their jobs and your store enough to do their job and help make shopping just a tad easier, doesn't deserve the job.. I am certain you will not tolerate this! I wish corporate would PLEASE do something about the deplorable condition of the Winona, Mississippi store. We recently lost our Walmart to closure and DG here has the perfect opportunity to meets the needs of our community. However, the stench and filth in our store is such that the locals no longer want to patronize it. This has been going on for longer than I can remember. My business is done there as we do have a Fred's that I can give my money to. I hate this for our community, me, and your corporation. Thank you for your time.

Some dollar general stores do not post limits on products but restrict customers from buying many of a certain product (ex. 2 liter soda). I am hosting a party and couldn't even buy enough soda. ( I went to Walmart instead). They should post the limits. The service is garbage as well. The cashiers are almost always rude and I feel that dollar general should do something about it. I have been working at Dollar General since last year and at the end of March I completed the necessary forms and was placed on Family & Medical Leave (fmla). Later that month, however, they dropped me from the payroll system. I was still on fmla so they had no right to do that by law. I re - applied at Dollar General this month and had to be processed as a new hire and do everything all over again. I did the urine test, finished all the paperwork, whatever was requested.
I am still waiting on my background check. I passed the background check in Illinois a month and a half ago. I should've been working last week but you are taking so long when I have only been gone for a month and a half.
doesn't fmla protect me from being fired? My job should have been saved until I returned. Maybe I need to see a lawyer about this since my District Manager says they dropped me because they had to hire a new Asst. Manager.

Please please for the love of your loyal customers replace the manager and assistant manager both of those ladies are unprofessional and rude. They attitude alone they show customer is appalling I could only imagine being an employee until recently when I over heard on two separate occasion one from the manager Katie talk so rudely and ignorantly to her employees belittling and degrading them in front of customers and another occasion when the assistant manager Geralind could literally careless about her job customers or employees . If I know they are there I will drive out of my way to another store since I've been told by both of them if I didn't like the service I could go elsewhere. I live literally across the street so that location is at my convince but not if they are there..the rest of the staff is amazing I know them all by name and they treat customers with kindness and patience since most of there customers like my self are senior citizens. Please replace that management and please give some type of gratitude to Brandon, James, Lexi and Patrick...the other cashier Raven she could use some more training but is kind

I did not receive the automatic $2 Off $8 worth of Vaseline products. I purchased 3 @ 3.50 each. I did not receive the automatic $2 Off $10 also did not come off. My subtotal was 12.50.

Sadly, the local Dollar General #14660 on 101 Salt Grass Circle Poolville, TX is a disgrace to the local communities and it's customers. This store should be a welcome addition to those of us living in rural areas for simple items that you would otherwise have to drive 20 miles or more to purchase from the "local" grocery store. Within the last year the store has gone from needing to be tidied to complete filth and disgust. The shelves are rarely stocked, the coolers are empty more than their not, the carts loaded with products stand in the aisles for months on end. To top off this mess, the employees are rarely cordial and lack obvious cleanliness and ability to perform simple customer service procedures.

Today is may 27th, memorial day weekend!

Today I went to the dollar general store in palmer, ma! I have been in this store before and it is a brand new store! I was thankful that dollar general opened a store in an area that is rural and needs this store! This is a beautiful store!

But today I cannot say that the store looked beautiful! I have worked in a store before and know the hard work involved in keeping the store clean and the stock on the shelves and not blocking the aisles!

I was discussed with how this store looked! A brand new beautiful store that looked like a hurricane hit it! I asked the woman if she needed more help in that store and she said no! Said just needed time to put things on the shelves! Someone should time her that all is not well, if the stock isn't on the shelves! Upsets me on how, no one does their job anymore! No one has pride in their job! If she had a good work ethic, the store would look perfect! Your store in palmer will fail with the current staff in that store!

Every aisle was full of stock to be put out! The woman said there is a lot more in the back room! Yet the shelves were empty and a carriage won't fit down an aisle!

I bought Kellogg's frosted flakes ha coupon on back for free cereal.I went to use this coupon and dollar general refused to take it.Manager said they wouldn't allowed to take free coupons even though they sold cereal with coupon on box only redeemable at Dollar general.I have already emailed Kellogg's to see if this is fraud or what? I bough the Kellogg's cereal at same dollar general where I tried to redeem coupon and was treated like I had done something wrong

very rude customer service, my total was 36.12 and I told the cashier I'm gunna do 24 cash and the rest on the card . she said okay but I have to charge you card first then cash so how much on the card she asked and I said you would charge me 12.12 on the card and the rest cash . She charged it all on the card and the manager came out her office rolling her eyes and cussing . very unprofessional and rude most definitely. cashier was also play fighting with a sibling while helping me out . then after the manager refunded me all the money on my card she told me to wait in line all over again? until she seen one of the employees that had a til open and recharged me all over again . honestly just a horrible experience. won't be coming back to this location .

Dollar general is a very reputable store typically when it comes to customer service, but the lack thereof today, is why I am writing this complaint. Lots of chit chat between employees instead of greeting and or speaking to the customers. Overheard how they were short handed because of having to fire their previous employees for stealing, etc. I do believe that type of information should remain behind closed doors, and not for the general public to hear. Also, there is a thing called confidentiality, some things that don't need to be shared. Regardless of what previous employees did or didn't do, that's between them and the company. Very unprofessional, and could get some people in deep trouble for sharing personal info like that. There were a couple names mentioned as well, but that's neither here nor there as I can't recall them anyways. My advice for this store, keep the personal drama to themselves and pay attention to your customers! The ones that keep the store in business. I believe the district manager needs to come in and reevaluate whom he has at that location. Maybe it was just an off day, but then again, that type of personal info should not be shared at all, regardless of an off day or not. Also, instead of chatting, maybe one of them should have been redoing the shelves as a lot of stuff was out of place. Sorry to be so harsh, but dollar general is a great place to shop for myself and family, especially when in a hurry.

I started working at Dollar General on Saturday May 5, 2018. My first day i was put on register and i was there for almost 2 -3 weeks and I was told to do my CBL's and none of them were on money that i can remember. I never did any CBL's before being placed on the register. On Saturday May 21, 2018 I was suppose to be at work at 9am. I got there and worked and got off at 1pm. When it was time for me to clock out I clocked out when I was told to and then I left. I was off Sunday so I came into work on Monday and I clocked in as usual and then the manager asked to see me in the office. So I followed. I sat down in the office and the manager asked me if I had any clue why my drawer was short and i thought about it nothing out of the usual happened people payed with $100 bills and coupons but that was it. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and she said ok well your drawer was short $59.61. I was fired. I was really furious. She gave me a copy of termination paper and it was filled out and dated 2 days before she fired me. I had one verbal and my drawer was short $4 and some change. I have worked at fast food and my drawer was never that short. I will be getting a lawyer because I was never suppose to be on register without doing my money CBL's and I was on the register my first day! I did 3 or 4 CBL's my third week there in one day. I asked my manager after she fired me what CBL's I have completed so far and she saw my message but never responded and I was never rude or disrespectful towards them in any way or form. I will be getting a lawyer. I was never supposed to be on register. They literally put me on register when I clocked in. Never even after working fast food was my drawer that short. Something is wrong.Then she waited 2 days to fire me. I am a honest person. I was there to Make Money. I will be getting a lawyer. I will never work at Dollar General Again! I will be going to BBB AND MY LAWYER!

I go to dollar general weekly.. Sometimes 2 and 3 times a week.. Twice now in the past month I have been in one of the stores and have heard a guy he was tall with gray hair and glasses at 2 different stores (racine, ohio and pomeroy, ohio) hollering and cussing on the sales floor at workers. I'm assuming he is upper management since he was at 2 different stores. This is very unprofessional and made me as a customer uncomfortable! I will not return to dollar general! They really need to monitor their upper management!

There is an extremely rancid smell in the fridge where the milk is located. It smells like something died. The store has bugs crawling everywhere on the floor, there has been broken glass, it's always messy and dirty. I'm begging you to send a inspector! Please before someone gets extremely sick or hurt! It's a dangerous place! The owner is never in there. It's filthy.

Well first of all this website is crap I had over a 1000 words written and now have to do it all over again! I made a purchase of Claritin for my child who is 4...I gave him 2 2 days in a row to try and help him and it didnt! I returned it! Told them it didnt work and I got something better I taped the box which u could clearly see! Apparently they got In trouble cause I went back the next day to have Megan treat me like a criminal and embarrass me for there mistake. She told me I said I didnt open the box which is a lie...u could check the audio on the Cameras I never said that...and proceeded to be completely rude...I told her what I said...it didnt work and we got something better...instead of trying to resolve the issue with me...and listening to me she was rude and told me I could never return to the store or pay for it again...she completely disregarded anything I said treated me like a criminal and embarrassed me for there mistake! She has awful custo.er service skills and I know all about it! I am a server and use my customer service skills daily! This isnt tho first ime I have been disrespected and treated poorly there but this by far was the absolute worse! U make a mistake u own up to it...you do not blame the customer and put lies in there mouth...I would rather drive 20 min to Wal-Mart than to go back there! Megan should be given a first class seminar on how to treat customers with respect because this is not only the first time she has been rude and disrespectful! There has been a few other occasions I have felt poorly treated. I deserve my money back for something that didnt work...and u need to teach your employees to own up to there mistakes and not blame customers.

I was in the store 10810 E 11th St, in Tulsa, Ok, at 3:45 PM today. There was some terribly unpleasant music playing over the store speakers (it was all grinding and SCREAMING sounds). I picked up the minimum amount of items I went in for, as I was not staying in that unpleasant environment any longer. I went to the front to pay and no one was around. After about a minute, a young man wearing a long, flowing, fancy black coat that laced up the back, swooped up to the register to ring up my purchase.This is the DG I usually go to, but I will not be back. Yuck!

I have several DG in my area and frequent them for certain products weekly. This store has been one I've avoided and tonight I remembered why. As soon as you walk in there are boxes and dolly's everywhere with products thrown about. The shelves are bare and products that are out are thrown around and damaged. You can barely walk through the isles with all the items fallen to the floor. The milk cooler was taped shut with a sign that said broken, with spoiled products still inside. The staff joked when I asked about it, laughing that they are sure it smells bad in there. The two employees were arguing about who was going to leave to pick up the pizza they ordered. Such a mess, no care put in by staff or managers apparently.
