Dollar General customer service

Visited Dollar General off Hacks Cross in Olive Branch at 8:25 pm on 8/12/17. Upon arrival there was a note stuck in door that said closed from 8:15 to 8:45. Parking lot full of customers wanting to go in. Employee (male) was outside hanging out with a female and small child by females car. He finally walked up to door a little before 9pm. The male employee, the female and small child went into the store and locked the door behind them. At this time I, along with 4 other cars, left. I took my business to Wal-Mart. Its bad enough that this particular DG is NEVER stocked and the store is unorganized and chaotic, but this beyond poor customer service.

Dollar General a cashier

Sat. Aug 12th about 6 35 pm I called the store in newton ga. The girl answered the phone and I asked if they sold paint stripper. She said she didnt know and she was on a break and if I called back in 20 mins someone could help me. I said well can you hand the phone to someone who isnt on a break? She said no mam cause im outside and shes inside and the only reason I have the phone is so she can call if she needs me. Really? That is the most outrageous phone call I have ever made! I have applied for a job there more than once and now I see why I cant get an interview. I dont think the people are qualified to work there. Who gets a break for at least 20 mins? There are a lot of problems with that store but this is the 1st time I have been so angry that I was compelled to put in a complaint. My number is [protected] if you have any questions. I hope you clean up the store in newton Georgia.

Dollar General behavior/ excellent

i went to your store 7294 an i have to say your employees are not getting treated right. i walked in on one of your manager(Lisa don't know last name) talking bad on one of your employees that i love to see everytime i come into the store. Rhawnie King is a excellent employee that you guy have at this store she makes you feel really welcome and has no problem helping anyone. she not rude at all when someone ask for help. its just too bad she doesn't get a change to work because she is only on the schedule for one or two days which is weird because isn't a part time employee suppose to get 20 or more hours. on the other hand your Manager Lisa is rude she doesn't like to help customers and she don't get along with the employees at this store. i have heard alot of your employees say" why is she manager if she is very rude and don't like to help people and the way she talk to your employees is unprofessional.

Dollar General mommy01

Staci is a very rude store mananger, she talks about all employees and some customers. Even how she's even slept with of them. I don't think she should be a store manager at dollar general. Shes even made comments about the dm being gay. She says she shouldn't be working nights nor weekends because her family is more important then others there. She's actually a bully and I thought dollar general didn't stand for it

Dollar General I want to get my card

I did everything right on my FB profile to get the $50 Dollar General gift card. And even the needed amount of people (30 as required) received the post I sent. I waited for a long time, tried to get it several times but there's still nothing.
Is this scam or what?
If it's possible let me know why I didn't get the card or at least tell me why I can't get it. Thanks.

Dollar General service

I am a regular at my neighborhood dollar general, but I wasn't always we were a family dollar family. we preferred their hospitality and bed side manner which my local dollar general has always lacked in. 4 months ago that all changed they were out of bread and milk. I refuse to go to Walmart or brookshires so I said well back to dollar general. "Completely dreading it". But to my surprise it was a completely different feel and look than before smiles, welcomes and actual help it was amazing. It was so amazing I returned as a customer more and mkre. But the past week every time i go in I see people on the show floor working very hard then there is the lady behind the counter who is in my opinion is the rudest most distrespectful person I have met. Always negative things to say refers to our young black males in a very unprofessional term but as soon as a coworker walks up she is all smiles and then speaks I'll of them as they walk away. Four months now I always buy my cigarettes and my wife's wine here never has she asked for my id but a few days ago a middle aged man was on the machineseith her and she makes a huge fuss over my license and refused to sell me anything and during her and my dispute the gentelmsn walks towards the back of the store at which time she then scans my cigarettes and my wifes wine and mubbles to herself something about not much longer I'm sick of him. I hope that it makes more sense to you than it did me. I have left 4 messages with the lady to have him call me but he never has and after seeing that the customers are still being treated as poorly as before, at least in he case I will not return to dollar general there is no reason an aging lady should ever speak Ill of anyone or treat those of another race differently

Dollar General checkout problems

I just returned from the Dollar General Store #14316 at James Lee Blvd. Crestview, Florida. I purchased 2 $19.99 trac phone cards along with a few other items. After I paid the cashier he realized there was a problem on his register screen. The receipt had already began printing. He made the statement that one of the cards I had purchased had already been activated and returned by someone previously. So he called the manager to the register. In the meantime he took another customer at another register. The manager came and canceled out one of the trac phone cards. He asked where the receipt was and I told him I was never given a receipt. He credited back one card without crediting back the tax I had paid on that card which came to $1.20. He rang up the replacement card and charged me tax on it. He then gave me two receipts. One was the amount returned of $19.99 plus a $0.40 fee. The second receipt was for $19.99 plus $0.40 fee plus $1.20 tax. There was no receipt for my original purchase. When I returned home I found he had charged me tax 3 times and never returned any of it. I called the store and spoke with him within 40 minutes of my store visit. He said I should bring in the receipt of which I had already informed him I was never given a receipt. He was rude acting as if I were somehow at fault for him not refunding my tax on one of the cards. I couldn't believe he (as a store manager) could be that inept. He gave me an "uhhhhh" and nothing more. So I told him I was going to Corporate with this. This is not the first time I have had a problem there. Most of the cashiers/clerks act as if they're mentally disabled or haven't got the time to answer a question. None of them are courteous, are absolutely unfriendly, and most often rude.

Dollar General employee

Marsha stands in front of the entrance chain smoking. I stood in line almost 30 minutes. She then came in and complained to her coworker because a customer told her they thought she should be inside helping with the line as long as it was. I have personally attempted to tell the store manager about Marsha's rudeness and she told me she was the store manager. I know that Sonja used to be the store manager, but I hardly ever see her there anymore. If it is true that Marsha is the manager at this location, I am extremely embarrassed for your company. I am not the only customer that tries to complain about her. She constantly makes customers wait at the register while she is either in the back, outside smoking, or even when she is stocking shelves. She always finishes whatever she is doing and always has an attitude when it comes to helping or checking out customers.

Dollar General velveeta nacho cheese dip cups

I always shop at either Publix or Walmart. Those are my preferred stores. But when those two ran out of the cheese cups, I had to go elsewhere to find them. Dollar General on Cheney Highway 50 was my last stop. Finally found the product, bought the last two on the shelf. First taco night comes along, and we used one. The next week, taco night again, used one. Decided to look on the packaging to find their website to praise their product. Came across the expiration date. I was shocked. The date said July 7, 2017. I bought them on Aug 01, 2017. A week past expiration, I could understand. But a month? That's uncalled for. Isn't there someone who checks the products an pulls whatever is old of the shelves? Or do they not give a crap that they sold something that could have potentially harmed a family? We're lucky we didn't get food poisoning, especially my children. Upon talking to a some people I know, I found out that they too have bought expired food from this store, some over 3 months! We shouldn't have to check the expiration in fear of it already being expired. I'm definitely staying clear of that store, and probably others just in case. I also have pictures for proof. I hope someone gets to the bottom of this, and clearly there needs to be more training for these employees. It's a small store, not that hard to check stock.

Dollar General management

The General Manager was very rude and disrespectful when I was shopping at the store in town. How?!, because I had a name tag on my key chain because i just got off work at a different store and she came walking up fast to me when I was minding my own business and she said HEY I NOTICED YOU LIKE COMING HERE, I SEE YOU WORK AT WALMART and I said yes. She Said Which Store So I Told Her And She Made a very rude disrespectful comment underneath her breath. She scared me off to get more things for my nephews birthday. But I decided to purchase 3 things and left.

Dollar General cashier complaint

I was at the Dollar General store in Sautee Nacoochee Ga. today with my husband and nephew around 1p.m. I'm a regular so I'm in there quite often alone. This time my husband was off, so he came with me. We grabbed some cold drinks while shopping, and as we were grabbing the last of our things, my husband opened his drink and took a sip before closing it back. Apparently that upset the cashier, so he prceeded to rush to my husband and RUDELY get onto to him, for drinking it, before paying for it! He treated my husband like a criminal, and HONESTLY I feel as if he was discriminated against for his color! He is a black man, and was the only one targeted for this as I was on the ISLE NEXT TO THEM with my drink open and taking a sip as well! This is very disheartening, because I have not encountered this kind of treatment since I have moved to this beautiful city! I do NOT belevie for ONE SECOND, this man was worried about anything other than discriminating against my husband! He also proceeded to tell my husband that him taking a SIP of his Gatorade, was equivalent to taking a DUMP ON HIS FLOOR AT HIS HOME! RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE! I will NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN as long as this employee works here, and am SERIOUSLY thinking of seeking legal advice! I should not feel uncomfortable shopping at a store in my local area...to have to travel all the way to Cleveland or Helen is insane! This upset my husband and embarrassed him very much. To be treated in this way and I am mortified!

Dollar General service, assistant manager

Store in Stephenson, MI was opened last year.
I have been in this store numerous times without a problem. As soon as Eileen became Assistant Manager of this said store I have had nothing but problems.
1st time, I went in to pick up 2 12 packs of soda, she looked me in the face and said " are you ready to check out? I said yes. She said I'll follow you since you have a look like don't you go anywhere." So in other words she said I look like a b*cth. I don't know this lady from Adam.
2nd time was this past weekend, my husband and I went in and bought several items. 4 of which were discontinued and sitting in a shopping cart blocking an isle. We asked Eileen if these particular items will be marked down. She said absolutely not.
I went back to the store yesterday and saw the same cart and all items (including what my husband and I purchased 2 days prior) were marked down. So she lied to our faces.

Her attitude when it comes to customers stinks. While I was in line she was complaining to a customer how many hours she worked this last week and she doesn't have time to work in her garden. I've worked retail for 15 years, you don't complain to customers especially about having a job.

Dollar General keeseville ny store

I was in the keeseville store and the cashier, Star, was ringing up a guy who was using EBT. she looked at what he was buying then what he was paying with and said to him, "Oh I didn't know you were using EBT to buy all this non nutritional food!" The guy was embarrassed! She said it so loud everyone heard her! This is a small town with little to no jobs and having EBT does not mean you don't work for a living! This is not the first time I have heard her to do this someone! She needs to wring up people and be respectful to her customers! This kind of attitude reflects on your name and should not be allowed. I would like to see this kind of stuff stopped!

Dollar General employee attitude and actions

Tonight at 9:45 the door was locked. The tall male employee told me through the door that they were closed. I said it's 9:45
He did not unlock the door. I had to go to Family dollar.

Also last week at 955 he yelled at me as I came in the door. I said I am only coming for milk and bread and water.
I left the parking lot at 9:59 after my purchase.
Being rude to regular neighborhood
regulars is bad business. We need your store but we don't need the attitude.
I really try to come in earlier but sometimes I can't. Many others complain to me but not you.

Dollar General service & store organization

Yesterday, August 6, 2017- my fiancé and our daughter visited the DG in Duncan, OK located on Hwy 81 in the Elk Plaza. To begin with, the employees have frowns on their faces when you enter the store. This happens to be the least of my concerns. Secondly, when asked for assistance in locating a product, they are so disorganized, trashy, and filthy- THE EMPLOYEES don't even know where to find anything. There are boxes stacked high in the middle of isles, as one almost fell on my child as we walked by. Last but not least, my fiancé checked out while my daughter and I waited. A female employee was leaned against the counter, thumbing through a magazine from the stack they put out at the checkout counter. There was no "Register Closed" sign, so my fiancé asked, "are you open ma'am?". The woman looked up, hissing through her teeth and said, "Uh, ya..NO. Sorry." She then proceeded to go back to thumbing through the magazine as my fiancé made his way to the other register to checkout.. by the time the less than 30 seconds passed as he made it to the other side to checkout, we watched as a woman walked up to the female empoyee's register (just as we did) and began to place her purchases on the counter top and the employee casually checked her out. Then, the woman left the store. This is discrimination. She was NOT working as she denied us service from her register for no apparent reason other than the fact that she looked up, saw we WERE NOT WHITE! and then so casually checked out another customer who WAS white with no questions, no comments. This is riduculous and aside from that, by far the WORSE DG I've EVER encountered. It's filthy and the employees are on phones instead of organizing the store and at least ridding the environment of safety hazards. Until this is taken care of, I refuse to let the issue go unheard or not taken care of. Thanks in advance!

The employee who said he was the Assistant Manager, Kristian; was very rude when I asked about my digital coupon. He told me he can't help and walked away. I asked the cashier for the name and number to the store manager, and I was refused the information and told to call the customer service hotline, the number was also refused.
I will never stop at this location again.
