Over a year ago, I went to a great deal of trouble to open two different Revocable Trust Accounts with Discover - they required pages and pages of documentation, and the process took many days and hours to complete.
In September of 2026, I started receiving many confusing letters about Discover transitioning some accounts to Capital One. They were so confusing that I called Discover and specifically asked which of my accounts would be affected and if I needed to do anything. I was told all of my accounts were fine and I did not need to take any action.
All of a sudden, in October of 2026, one of the Trust Accounts just disappeared on the website and mobile app. I was concerned about fraud - called Discover again and was told one of the Trust Accounts was closed (without notification) and a check was in the mail.
I was given excuses about missing information, however, all of that was originally provided to open the account in the first place. Also, why close one of the accounts but not the other?
I had previously called to inquire if I needed to take any action and was told "no." And when I recently called to ask for the account to be re-opened and I was again told "no."
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and compensation for the inconvenience caused. Initially, I wanted the account reopened, but after this experience, I will take my business elsewhere.
