Dear Sirs,
Waybill [protected]
I have purchased a second hand watch in Japan and this was sent via yourselves.
In 4 occasions I have asked DHL Spain to give me a relation of their expenses, freight, customs costs, duty etc. and I never received any reply.
The cost DHL is asking me to pay is 50% of the value of the goods that I have purchased in Japan. Customs duty in Spain from goods from Japan is a maximum of 20%, but I am not sure if a second hand item is applied the same percentage, possibly not.
I would be grateful if you would ask DHL Spain to give me the requested information. I have not accepted delivery today.
Kind regards
Inigo Verastegui

I purchased a second hand watch in Japan for US$249.99 It was sent to Spain by DHL. I did ask DHL three times to give me a brake down of the cost of import duties, customs charges and their own charges, but they never did. They wanted me to pay 103.00 euros, which 50% of the cost of the actual watch. I believe the the maximum cost of import duties is 20%, but not sure if this is for a second hand item. They tried to deliver the watch today, but I did not accept it as I believe that their cost are abusive.
