This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I had my phone service disconnected when I ported my number to another service provider and then talked to customer service at Cricket to make sure that I would not be debited anymore on my automatic payment plan. They assured me I would not. I find out they are still debiting me. I call customer service and I report the problem they tell me that it is a pro-rated charge for the previous month. B.S.! We pay up front for our service or we don't get service the next month. I get the run around from everyone at Cricket. Quite simply, they suck! I will fight this to the end!

Hi Walt,

My name is Ryan and I work on behalf of Cricket Wireless. We are sorry to hear about your experience and misinformation given to you by the representative regarding your coverage area. To help us serve future customers and improve visits, was this a Full Service Cricket store or a authorized dealer? We try to make it as easy as possible for consumers to research our network and coverage in relation to their current home area with our coverage map. We are happy to answer and assist you further with any questions about our services and your refund. Also, providing us any additional feedback regarding your home city you planned on using the service, the city you purchased the phone and store location.

We appreciate your time and feedback.

Best,
Ryan on behalf of Cricket

People! WE are the consumers, and where would cricket be without you and me?
they have screwed me for the last time. there is no customer service because they have plainly shown over and over again that we need to shut them down, even if they do start up in some other name, ...they care about the Crack, Chronic and Meth dealers, but, to send a message we need them too. we need everybody to get involved. we do have the control, but if we don't use it; then we deserve everything they do to us.
First, we need to get every states attorney general in every state in which they operate in. It takes a few minutes to write or email your state attorney general. There is a statute called " Obtaining money under false pretenses" especially if you don't get what is advertised, ... there are a myriad of other charges as well. this place is bad business, and that is already established by them.
my email is midiman52@hotmail.com., ... my name is nick and we can do this. I cannot be bought and B. S'ed.
please let me know, and I will organize this thing.
People! Lets stop complaining and get busy on their [censor]! 'Com On you twitter and youtube people. This will be hard work, but we can change this, ...first by contacting other reputable Cell service companies and comunicate the need to replace cricket.
Believe me, they will be more than happy to do so. We just have to be methodical. Cricket has taken my money for the last time; just to let you know, I paid my bridgepay plus an extra 2 dollars and my phone stayed on for 1 day and they cut it off.
You know, once upon a time the customer was respected, and alot of times it has been foreigners doing this stuff to us, as the come along and make us consumer [censored]s and tricks while they are laughing all the way to the bank!
If you let me I will show you how we, the people, can own our own, public cell phone company.
Think about it, ...we are halfway there with Facebook, Twitter, ...et all
If you stick with me, we can show them. It is not about being mad, because that emotion blows over. it is about one thing;
respect.

Lets DO THIS! PLEASE People! Lets just do this! We can, as I know we can!

and then methodically we can take on others, until the quick buck on someone else's back can expediously be a thing of the past!

Cricket has THE WORST customer service. Ever. They took my money and I was left with a phone that I couldn't even activate for a while and then it was taking forever for them to port my old number over. I had the phone for 4 days and it was useless the whole time. In the meantime, they disconnected my number with my old provider but had never even ported my new number over. I was on the phone with them for HOURS and they still couldn't get anything right. So unbelievably frustrating. Now I can't get my old number back with any provider and have to get a new phone number after years. It doesn't help that I've been conducting an extensive job search with my old number on my resume. It will look great if a potential employer calls and they get a notice that my phone is no longer in service.

I have never dealt with such a terrible company. They can not get nothing right. They hang up on you when you try to get help after being on hold for hours. I wanted my card billed every month for payment, but every month it is shut off and they try to charge a connect fee. They have my card on file, but it's the same excuse every time. Then they wanted to charge for a bridge payment. This was never mentioned when we set the account up. I have had two other companies and they never seemed to have a problem charging my card. Now we are on the phone and they refuse to cancel my phone saying they are not talking to the account holder. I can not believe this. Please if you want your sanity, do not go with cricket. You will be sorry.

I have been trying to complain to Crickets corporate office and the local store nor the customer service by phone would give me the corporate headquarters information. I was always told that I need to contact the local headquarters. I try to make calls and get a message that states your account cannot be validated, and was told I need a tri- band phone not the one that was sold to me over a year ago which the dealer never stated will not work properly. Somedays I go without talk or text because of this. I also have had to buy a charger just about every 3 months because of a short in the cord. Although I never move the cord from the plug its in. Also the phone stoped working and I have insurance which over a years time can buy me two phones a year which is more than the phone is worth and was told I have to pay $45 for them to send the phone to tech support to be check and if they see its a problem with the phone they will them refund me $35. WHATS THE POINT OF THE INSURANCE I COULD JUST TAKE THE $45 AND BUY A NEW CHEAP PHONE. The straw that broke the camels back is I tried to look at my call history online and could not see it so I went to the local store and was told I have to pay $25 to get my call history which should come with my bill.

After doing some research I found out that Criket is administered by Leap wireless which is located in SanDiego and when I filed complaint with the BBB the Branch of the BBB I was connected with is in SanDiego:

BBB of SanDiego

File plenty of complaints and if there is a lawyer out there I think this is a perfect class action lawsuit.

I have been using Cricket service since May of 2007. During which time I have bought 5 phones from them, one of which a Razr is STILL working and the charger is STILL working after having this cell phone for 2 1/2 years. But then again my family takes care of our phones and don't treat them roughly. Yes even my children use cricket phones and guess what 2 years later, what do you know, they STILL work. My family actually likes Cricket, and we don't have any plans on switching to a new company. As far as the no coverage, if my husband and I know we are going to be out of our service area, we pay for the roaming.

We made the mistake of switching over to Cricket wireless. We werer gauranteed we would have service. Guess what? NO SERVICE! I called Crisket Customer Service line. I wa basically told, it was not their problem. They don't contol the cell towers. I told them we wanted it disconnected. She told me I would not get the mail in rabates for $80 if I disconnected before a 45 day uninterupted service had been met. They never told me that when we hooked up. This company is the worst business I have dealt with in a very long time. Their so called customer service dept, doesn't know the meaning of customer service!
We also had to clode our crecking acct that we had set up as auto pay thru. I called had the auto pay stopped. Or so I thought. The next month they debited our account! When I called them I was given the run around and hung up on. Twice!

I have been a customer of several years also and have been overcharged on my account starting Dec 31.2009. I have called them repeatedly and have been through this same treatment. They refuse to give me a manager, then take my info and tell me I will get a call back within 48 hours. I have called about 7 times in the past several months. Now i can't even get through, it's like my number has been blocked. I have emailed them through the "mycricket' website 3 times now, and have not even received an acknowledgement. I too am tempted to change service providers, even though I have had them for about 6 years also.

Absolutely ridiculous website, scam automated phone tree, and no customer service. I only two years later have figured out the secret to getting a rep. on the phone- If anyone was wondering, the magic sequence is that when you are prompted to ask for something, say "Cancel"- the only thing they never readily have information on. Then, it works best that if you are calling about your broadband, select that you're calling about your phone, and viceversa. Because they will not give you a live person unless you make up the most random succession of choices possible and confuse their system. I only just today got off their automatic bill pay. The service offered is fine, but the customer service is what kills you with Cricket. Never expect them to help you. Ever.

Cricket wireless has a routing problem in which calls from landlines will not be put through. I've called customer service numerous times and all they have done is the same thing -- reset my phone and then ask me to enter *228. I have two businesses that I have lost a lot of business due to this problem. I had no idea that my customers were unable to reach me until a few finally called from cell phones in order to get me. Customer service has no idea how to fix it. Their response was that technical support would call me back in 24-hours, which never happened. I will never advise anyone to obtain a Cricket phone.

CRICKET is HORRIBLE! Their locations refer you to customer service for any issues and their customer service refer you to their locations! WT... quit pointing fingers and do your job! Fare warning on the broadband: just bc you are in the green area does NOT mean you are covered. ALSO: IF you decide to get broadband, check your coverage at home the night you buy the modem and if it does not work, TAKE IT BACK THE NEXT DAY or you will be out the money. Service or no service, they will not refund you past 24 hrs.. PLEASE NOTE: I TRIED TO TAKE THE MODEM BACK WITHIN THE 24HR WINDOW BUT THE AGENT TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD WORK AND SUGGESTED I TRY THIS AND THAT... SO I DID.. AND IT STILL DID NOT WORK. AND YES, YOU GUESSED IT.. NOW I WAS OUTSIDE OF MY 24HR WINDOW... SNEAKY SOB'S!

I agree 100%. What I don't understand is why do you have to pay for insurance and still end up basically paying for another phone if something goes wrong with it. Unlike Sprint and T-Mobile you can automatically get the phone replaced with no problems. It is time that the whistle is blown on Cricket. I can imagine that is why everyone is going with a different phone company.

I wanted a blackberry so ported my number to Verizon and added onto my boyfriend's family plan. I started getting a LOT of wrong number calls. When started realizing it was excessive, I asked what number they were dialing and all said my number. All the wrong numbers were calling for the same person... hmmm.

A couple of days later I got a call from a guy who said that his number was the same as mine. He said he had just bought a cricket phone and they gave him the same number as me. He said he could call OUT on his new phone and caller ID's said his name and number; however, when he could not receive any calls... all his return calls were going to my phone.

I contacted cricket who first of all did not believe me (yep, I guess they think people make ### like that up and LOVE India customer service and hold music). Eventually, they looked into it and said yes, they had released the number. Supposedly they contacted the guy, reassigned a number to him and resolved it.

2 weeks later, same thing happened. Whoever the hell got my number the second time had callers ALL - NIGHT - LONG. And none of their buddies spoke English.

Called Cricket again but at this point I was past annoyed. I went to Verizon for help but since they didn't own the number, they couldn't do much. Eventually I gave up my 5 year phone number which resolved the issue.

### phones, eh-so-so cell signal, REALLY bad internet browser and service. But, you get what you pay for and it is super cheap. Plus, if your credit sucks, no extra deposit like the big companies. Again, you get what you pay for so if you go with them, just be prepared.

I purchased a cricket phone and I opted out for automatic debit. With ZERO notice my account was charged anyway. After the debit hit my account, it took funds for 2. incoming debits that cost me $35 each. I called cricket and they said that they would refund the amount and shut off my phone for non payment. The refund would take 14 days. I did not have my credit card with me and I was told if I did not give them the card number they could not refund. I did go to the band and put in a card fraud complaint. I got my money back and I will pay the bill myself. I was never informed of a due date. I discontinued a SPRINT account for a cheaper service. That is exactly what I received...CHEAP CUSTOMER SERVICE

What's worst about the paying in advance thing is that they won't refund your money, even if you cancel, without making you put up a fight.

No one should use cricket; but if you do, make sure you're using a Credit Card that allows you to dispute charges. Don't ever give cricket access to your bank account.

PS -- if you have a really serious billing issue, you can even report it to the FCC: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

When I saw all the commercials and all the unlimited deals about Cricket, I finally decided to get their service. I went to the neighborhood store and I was presented with great as seen on TV unlimited deals to which I agreed upon getting. The whole time, I was there the two associates where bragging about how great of a deal I would be getting and looking at each other and laughing sarcastically. At first I was laughing with them, but later on it just rubbed me wrong that I might be getting ripped off because they continued laughing non-stop with every step of the process of activation. I refused to close the deal and walked out of the store, thank God after reading the reviews here I know I have done the right thing, I have no regrets.

I have had nothing but problems with cricket wireless. I had problems with phone from the start. Dropped calls, no signal. I only had the phone for 5 days, when it kept dropping calls. I went back and forth to the merchant who refused to place the phone even though the phone was under warranty. I am currently fighting for a $124.00 refund. Cricket received the phone via UPS and I am still fighting with them and my credit card company. Everyone please be aware of this company! learn from my mistake!

ive been with cricket for 9 years, ive never had a issue, like damion said i pay my bill in store or online, ive also have had to do bridge pay without a issue, i broke my leg in a terrible accident and cricket actually let me slide two weeks, granted their line sometimes is real busy, know why? cause 70 percent of americans like me dont have decent credit, cricket has allowed us to be able to have a cell phone, back in the day in order to get a phone you had to have a santeria degree until cricket came along, i dont like the phones cricket has so i buy my phones online, if they break i go after the ebay seller, anybody can have a cell phone these days thanks to them, i also travel very little, if i have to go out of state and i have a sick mother thats dying i buy me a 10 dollar calling card, im not gonna depend on some roaming new plan that "might " alllow me to talk to my sick dying relative, have some common sense for crying out loud, another thing i like is how i hear my buddys always complaining how they got a 200 dollar cell bill or dont call me before 7 dude cause my minutes this and that, not me, no sir, i talk however long i want and any time i want, 52 dollars a month, unlimited talk, long distance, text messaging, internet, (yeah internet) but as always with any system it doesnt work for everyone, your always gonna have some people that experience bad results, thats perfectly allright, if we were all happy we wouldnt have had 5 major wars so sorry for whoever had bad times, it always gets better, try out other companys, see how it goes, good luck!

I too have had lots of problems with cricket. I made a one time payment using my debit card and made sure that it was not to be used again. The following month they charged my account again. I called and complained in August and again called for the same reason in September assuring me that i was removed from the auto pay. Now again they have charged me. I demanded my money back and got hung up on twice. I called back and requested a supervisor and she tried to tell me that i have no previous calls regarding this concern. So I demanded to speak to someone above her. She then agreed to give me my money back and pay the overdraft fee it caused and 1 1/2 months later I'm still calling. THEY ARE A JOKE OF A COMPANY! Also the so called customer service is a shame. They know nothing about their job. I'm getting ready to have the news report about them. I would much rather go with a contracted provider.

My service from Cricket as been fine except that my bill varies from month to month and now they want a $5.00 in store pay fee. I find this un-american that I have to pay to pay my bill.
Obviously, I must be intruding upon them. By my calculations their nickel and dime attitude makes their phone plan not as advertised. Regardless of service I refuse to pay to pay my bill!

I actually got the A600 Broadband from Cricket, not the cell service and the signal was poor so the internet was poor. The Cricket Broadband is a dial-up service with a wireless modem. I bought it, was unhappy and decided to return it. I called the customer service for an RA number. I have returned the product 5 days ago, and still no word on my money back. Then, as I am reading my email to see how long returns are refunded, it says that there is a $35.00 restocking fee that the customer was to pay for. Aint that about a b. Basically, I am paying cricket money for NOTHING! They are NO GOOD! I am about to call and complain about all this because if there was a restocking fee, why didnt the customer service agent say so? And second, can you get customer service people who speak straight english? The person I spoke to had a HEAVY accent, I didnt understand his name, so I barely understood anything but the numbers. I WONT EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE I KNOW.

Cricket has been in my area for about 7 years now and they have always SUCKED! their OVER PRICED phones REALLY DO fall apart for NO REASON (which by the way are so far behind in technology that its actually laughable), their billing system is a bunch of B.S. and they're always inventing some new way to rip off the customer (99% of the customers are probably over charged and dont even know about it bc they dont send you PAPER BILLS unless you PAY FOR IT!

I paid my bill on time and got a confirmation number. A couple days later my phone was disconnedted. I faxed them proof from my bank and still they say the did not hear anything from their resolution department. What am I suppose to do in the meantime. Also about 4years ago when I bought my phone it had a rebate. I was told to send in the receipt and they would send my rebate. I sent a copy and they said that was not good enough I need to send the original. I did and then misteriously they did not receive it even though I sent it so they have to sign when they receive it. Now that they are trying to make me pay an extra payment and all the problems I been having with my bill being different every month I think they are stealing from people. I would not recommend using Cricket.

I bought a Motorola Razor from Cricket and it wouldn't keep a charge. I took it back they replaced the battery and it still wouldn't stay charge. I took it back and they gave me a new and I'm still having the same problem. I contacted Better Business Bureau and Cricket only offers was if it's under warranty to pay $45 for another one or receive a refurbished phone! Cricket has lost their minds! Their cell phone business if awful. I think most of their phones are refurbished and they by law should be forced to tell customers that up front. I will be going with Verizon. Cricket has worked my last nerve since 2007. DON'T BUY A RAZOR FROM CRICKET!

I've been with cricket since it came to arizona in 07 not one problem, coverage is limited as opposed to verizon but for $80 a month savings. Those folks above probally have real complaints however I have used cell phones since the 1980's when there was only one tower for all of tucson and each minute was $1.50, battery life was at best 30 minutes talk and 3 hour standby and if you made a long distance call it would be up to $5.00 a minute my bills were over $1000 a month depending on my sales for roughly 250 minutes and when you were in another city in the state you got an operator and had to give your credit card to make a call you would be out of range by the time the transaction went through. Is it me or are some of these complaints a little overboard.

this is how mi nightmare started. last week on september 14 it was my last day to pay my bill (cell +internet) but i decided to cancel my internet service so i went to the nearest store and they told me i had to call customer service and i tried but you know is very difficult so i gave up and i went to florida, 2 days later i decided to pay my bill only if they make it work in florida so i called customer service and i explained the whole situation that i was on florida and i wanted to make my phone work...i was told that it was very simple all i had to do was to pay my bill and add to my service extended coverage so i did pay for my bill including late fee total $ 64.10 the guy told me it was going to take about 20 minutes to have service back on my phone, i waited 2 hours but nothing happened so i called again customer service only this time they explained to me that i had to bring my phone back to texas to be updated so i could work in another states then i request my money back they told me cricket do not refund money. i am back in texas and i tried to get my phone service but for that i have to pay $ 15 plus first month becouse they closed my account and the month i already pay basically is lost they say over and over they can do nothing.if anybody knows any other way i could try to get my money back please let me know my name is yoni medina my email is yonimedina@hotmail.com and i don't want cricket to get away with this. this happened to me the 16 of september.

Let's talk about why Cricket Wireless is designed to drive customers crazy. I have definitively learned first-hand about the way their telephone customer service system is set up in order to make your life impossible.

1) 90% of the time, you will get a customer service representative who speaks English only moderately. Of 20 phone calls to their customer service department, 10 were directed to Manila, The Philippines, 7 were directed to Nicaragua, and 3 to customer service in the United States. I have nothing against anyone who cannot speak English, but as a good customer who does speak English, is it so much to ask to speak with someone who doesn't have to read a script when they speak to me?

2) If you ever complain or fail to pay your bill on-time, the telephone customer support system is DESIGNED to NEVER LET YOU SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. The system automatically flags calls where there are complaints or late bills in such a way that when you select the option to "Speak with a customer service representative, you will only be repeatedly given a message that "All our representatives are busy at this time, but you can try one of our automated options to help you solve your problem." This is a blatant lie on Cricket's part and is intended to only allow customer service calls thru for people who never complain and always pay their bill in full and on time.

3) Cricket offers limited or no real online support for errors with billing. Recently, I went to pay my bill using the mycricket.com website. When I did, the payment system returned an error message to me. I called their customer service department only to discover that Cricket had charged my debit card not once BUT TWICE. Representatives alternately promised me refunds which never came or demanded documentation, such as my debit/credit card statement in order to be refunded. Why would I need to do this? Your system double charged ME and gave ME an error code! When I complained, my calls were sent into the automated loop I told you about in point 1. My emails to support have never been responded to, save a response from customerrelations@cricketcommunications.com that says:

"Thank you for contacting Cricket's Customer Relations Department.

Due to a system upgrade we will no longer be offering support at this email address."

After 30 days, a refund which is due to me has still never been processed. AVOID CRICKET AT ALL COSTS. CRICKET COMMUNICATIONS IS A PHONE COMPANY DESIGNED BY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND WILL NOT OFFER ANY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION WHEN THEY ARE AT FAULT.

All of you complaining are ignorant. I worked at CRICKET and see this all the time. This is what made our job hard having a bunch of low life in the store waiting to pay their bill when you could easily have gone to pay at the machine inside the circkle k.
As far a broken phones go, you break them by sitting on them, throwing them at your kids and then come to the store and try and pull a fast one. Before you post a comment use the spell check PENDEJOS (IDIOTS)( trans lation for all those white folk). People threatend to file a lawsuit everyday but the judge just throws it out cuz you [censored] people cant pay a bill on time and aquire late fees or break your phone or buy a cheap phone and want it to work forever. CRICKET doesn't make phones blame the manufacturer not the company.

I have called 5 times so far to try to cancel service. The first two times I called they claimed their computers were down and asked me to call back. On the second call I insisted that the representative make a note of my disconnect request and process the disconnect when their system came back up. Five days later Cricket charged my credit card for another month in advance. When I called they tried to tell me that the service was disconnected, that I was billed in arrears, and that this was the final prorated bill. When I pressed them, the acknowledged that the service still wasn't cancelled, and that the charge was for an upcoming month. I asked for the third time that Cricket disconnect the service, and that they refund the unauthorized charge. The rep, Al, agreed, but then dropped my call before confirming he had completed the work. He also said that it would take 7-10 days to process the refund. When the call was dropped (hung up?) I called back a 4th time. Sarah answered. She said the line was disconnected in the system, but she dropped the call before coming back on the line to confirm that the refund had been processed. I called back a 5th time and immediately requested a supervisor. I have been writing this comment while holding for the supervisor. I estimate that it has taken 2 hours on the phone so far. You have to wonder is the computer really down the first two times that anyone tries to cancel? Does Cricket routinely try to push an account past another billing cycle before cancelling? Do they intentionally mislead customers about billing post pay instead of pre pay? Do they knowingly debit credit cards after an account is cancelled? If you read through these posts, is there a pattern? So now my 5th call was disconnected, and I am starting my 6th call. I am now entering my phone # for the 6th time. This time the phone was answered by "Brian" who apparently could not hear me. I am now calling for the 7th time, entering my phone and last four digits of my SSN, going through the voicemail options for the 7th time. Now I am talking to Johanna who is telling me that she cannot pull up my record in her computer and asked if she could put me on hold while she accesses a "backup system". Do you think they could be intentionally making customers call repeatedly until they run out of time and have to wait and call another day or week later? This is not how I wanted to spend my weekend. I told Johanna that this was the 7th call and asked her to please not disconnect me. She sounds nice enough and promised not to disconnect me. Could it be an intentional corporate strategy to direct all disconnect calls to an overseas call center with poorly equipped reps, so that despite their good intentions, they just don't have systems that work well enough to be able to process a disconnect? Is this strategic incompetence? Johanna came back on the line and I could barely hear her due to static. She told me there is a problem on my account, she cannot access my account. After more discussion she was able to access my account and told me that she had completely terminated my account, but she could not process the refund. I asked her to document this debacle in my record, which she said she did, but then told me I would have to go to a store to request my refund. I asked to talk to a supervisor. Do you think they just make it so hard to get your money back that they hope you will give up? Josh came on the line and told me that it was possible to process the refund. We agreed that I was owed $17.00 pro rated charges and a full refund of $62.52 for the unauthorized charge to my card which posted yesterday. He filled out a form with me on the line and said someone would call me within 48-72 hours. He took my credit card number and expiration date. We agreed that I am owed $79.52. Josh is going to submit this form electronically. So I explained to Josh that I am just on the verge of asking a consumer protection group to look into Cricket's practices. Then we got more static on the line and I can't hear Josh anymore. This call has now gone 44 minutes. Josh was great, he finally came back on the line and was most apologetic. Do you think they will actually call me? Do you think I will ever see a refund?
