We're pretty sure that if Walmart showed up wayyyy more often on ComplaintsBoard and paid more attention to reviews and complaints, it would lead to better results. But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. We advise reviewers to be careful when communicating with Walmart and be ready for the chance your problem might not get a response. Walmart unsatisfactory number of handicap carts

My mother was recently injured in an accident that has caused her to be in a wheelchair. We went to go shopping at Walmart and discovered that they had an insufficient number of motorized handicap carts. Because of this, Walmart lost over $200 of merchandise sales from my mother and I, along with the five other people we saw as we were leaving that would not be able to find another cart available. Not to mention the others that we did not see.

Upon asking for a cart, we were told rather rudely, may I add, "You are more than welcome to wait for 2 hours until a cart becomes available." Meaning, there were only 2 carts working at the time. One was in use while the other was charging. Where were the other carts you may ask? In the shop.

Walmart is a very large corporation. By not having a sufficient number of wheelchair accessible carts, they not only lose business but also give themselves a bad name. I was treated very rudely by the workers, which in and of itself is not right. Especially when those rude workers were the greeters standing by the door.

Walmart probably lost a few thousand dollars simply because they were not fully prepared for business that day to handicap people. That may seem like a drop-in-the-bucket for such a large company, but it is going to become a ripple effect. Because my mother and I are no longer going to shop there. Nor are our friends. If Walmart does not become more prepared to handle customers such as my Mother, they are going to continue to lose business.

All it will take is to buy a few more rolling carts, and Walmart will have much happier and satisified customers.

I'm sorry for your mother's situation, ma'am, but stores aren't required by any statute (or moral, for that matter) to provide a motor scooter for anyone. If your mother isn't terribly mobile, why don't you take the initiative of purchasing a motor scooter yourself. Walmart providing them is a luxury, not a right.

On my last 2 trips to WalMart in Granbury, TX. 76048, there were no riding carts available, and another customer was waiting for one. Granbury is a retirement community, and WM should be prepared for more than normal handicaps.

I could not find a customer service section on their Home Page.

Walmart clothing & cleanliness of store!

I shop the Walmart in Springfiel Tn. It is often dirty with trash on the entrance way floors. The quality of clothing has gotten to the point that I will no longer be buying school clothes there. The clothing rarely last past two washings & often stretches out of shape or comes apart. I once was able to get most of our clothing there but no more. It is a shame to see Walmart getting to this point. Why can you not get a better grade of clothing merchandise? You did at one time. Even the jeans come apart. The Springfield store often has several empty shelves & never has enough personnel. I hope to see some improvement soon.

Walmart - be careful with your spouse at walmart!

Do you have a spouse that works at WalMart - Beware their fraternizing policies are not worth the ink that they used to print them with!!! WalMart in NC allows open fraternizing of married employees and management/salary with hourly. Management even tells the employees to not talk or say anything about it to the public and turn their heads and ignore it...

Walmart dissatisfaction service

On Sunday June 9,2007 I went shopping at Walmart. At the register I gave a blank check with my signature to pay my bill. The clerk gave my check which was blank and a receipt for my purchase. I ask the clerk to void my check and redo the transaction at another register where the printer was was working, She refuse and so did her supervisor refuse. I had to go to the assistant store manager to complete the transaction properly. I was so irate that I called 1800-walmart to make a complaint. I spoke with someone from customer service but did not receive satisfaction. I tried to make a complaint on the computer but the computer kept knocking me out so I could not complain. I feel top mgmt needs to be informed.

I bought a Weedeater WLT23 from WalMart on March 30 2007, used it maybe 10 times. Today is Aug 4 and the batteries are dead. Called the # on the instruction manual [protected]) and was told that someone from customer service will call me back in 48-72 hours and that this rep. will probably offer to LET me buy new batteries at 50% off. WOW what a deal. Then in 3 or 4 months maybe I can do it all over again. I'm going to buy a new trimmer and it WON'T be a Weedeater product.

Walmart not so private, not so professional

Yesterday, I was called by Co-Manager Rod (last name withheld) of the WalMart in Alabaster, Alabama to come in on June 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. for a part-time interview. I arrived at 9:45 a.m. Another female applicant arrived just before 10 a.m.

The female was immediately seen and set up with an interviewer.

For more than 25 minutes, Rod was paged by the Store to come to hold my interview.

Rod showed at 10:30 a.m. and with no greeting or apology, looked up my name and then called another person to interview me... I waited 10 more minutes and no one showed.

Insult to injury... professionalism and privacy. During my time, I overheard the exchange of more than two social security numbers of individuals, that persons were taking time off and one lady was handling everything.

On top of that, Connie (last name unknown but another manager) had quit and the night before and just walked off the job.

I was so disgusted by the lack of privacy and professionalism that I just left.

Lesson... WalMart Alabaster, Alabama is broken.

I used to shop here all the time. But after seeing so much of this behavior from the management, and after the way they are squeezing our favorite brands off the shelves for THEIR brand; I'm done for good. I will NEVER shop at wall-mart again, especially for groceries. Heck, when I switched to Food World, I didn't even notice a difference in total ticket price.

I completely agree.

I see that those employees who, I suppose are hourly, work on the floor are generally nice and good natured. They are generally older with most I guess being retirees.

I guess the managers are in the back hiding from the public. I never see them on the floor as I shop. After talking to some of the store's employees my guess was correct. After speaking to these employees I found that many managers at Wal Mart are interested in just keeping a paycheck. They don't want there higher ups to realize they are not really that good at what they do. They are not very good in employee relations. They tend to only think for themselves. Have you ever wondered why over the loud speaker they always ask for a "member of management" like it is a club you have to be a really good but kisser to join. I tend to think many of these managers should feel very lucky that Wal-Mart as a whole is too large to manage and they can go about their lives earning their not to well-earned paycheck with the understanding that there is little chance anyone out there will rock their boat and find out that they generally are not that good at what they do.

Walking through the Alabaster store have you ever wondered how empy the shelves are?

If we were ALL informed, nobody would shop at this nightmare. I'm sorry you had such a piss poor experience but this may be a blessing in disguise! Do you believe in Karma? I do.

Walmart awful customer support

I just walked out of a walmart in Neptune, NJ with a rather weird experience. I walked in to buy a hard drive for my game system. When the teller ran the item at the register it rang up for 177.00 but the tag showed it at 100. When I told the clerk of the error they first observed the tag and complied it did say a different price but they kept fighting the tag. They took the sku off the display and brought it to the counter and told me "o the sku's don't match so this isn't the right price". I asked about there honoring a shelf price even if it differs from the ring up price and I got a bunch of different excuses. The first of course was the sku doesn't match, I will get to the rest in a few. After that I decided to keep my cool and just go to customer service and ask for a manager. Once the manager accompanied me to the department I showed her the product and the tag. The original salesman came over to try and fight my claims. At first he told her that its not the right size hard drive, I pointed out to her that the tag said "xbox 360 hdd" and made no mention of a size. His next argument was the sku, I told her that the item was behind a glass and once you ask for a product they bring it to the counter to ring it up so there is no way to compare sku. Then she said the hard drive was in fact priced but the tag she pointed to was for a dvd player not the hard drive, once i informed her of the error they paused. Then she said since the product is about 6 inches out of the spot of the tag that they can not honor the price and when i pointed out there is no other tag with a different price anywhere in the department she said that they just don't have a tag printed for it. I was forced to leave the store since I only had 130 in my account giving me not enough for the product. If a store has a policy they should honor it now I'm out of the product they had in stock that nobody else did and with awful customer support.

This is Walmarts way of making a few extra bucks. It is called bait and switch and in unethical no matter what the former Walmart employees states.

Yes customer can switch product on the shelf to confuse the next customer, but I have seen many many instances where the correct product rang up a different price than the shelf. It also seems bizarre that if it wasn't common place that customer service would just hand out cash for the difference when it is caught by the customer at checkout.

Walmart is gambling that we (customers) are just too stupid to notice or too busy waste 20 minutes in the service line to get the refund.

This exact thing happened to me in the Zion, IL Walmart on Tuesday 8/24/10. I spent time in the service line to get the refund, and then the guard (as I left the store) had the nerve to stop me to produce the receipt for the item. They think everyone is stealing from them when they are the ones being unethical.

I called the Asst. store manager who was a useless front to field these calls (obviously has had a few of them too since he had no empathy left). They need a policy that if it doesn't ring up correct it is free before I shop there again.

If Walmart expects the Customers to compare the SKUs on the pricing label / tag with the SKU on the product, then they should PRINT the SKU large enough on the label so that it can easily be compared! Then the Customers will not have a legitimate argument about the pricing discrepancy, when shown the label / tag.

I have learned to compare SKUs / UPCs from the label / tag and the product when I find a price that I think is too good to be true.

However, Walmart has a tendency to show one price on the label / tag, and then the POS register rings it up at a different price (usually higher, of course). This has been occurring more and more lately, over the past 2 years.

I think ALL STORES should go back to placing a price tag on each and every product, not just a label / tag on the shelf and leaving it up to the Customer to verify the label / tag against the product.

bait and switch is a common practice in the world of free market but sad to say the wal mart world monopoly also has started to practice some of these same hard sell tactics. For example one of the more common practices of this is to place merchandise over the wrong shelf price as your complaint suggests but the more deceptive practice was disclosed to me by the stores management only after my formal complaint was addressed to him through the CEO MIKE DUKE IN ARK. AND HERE IS WHAT I WAS TOLD: "It is wal marts practice to place merchandise in a discount/closeout section of the store without a discount price marked on it while awaiting a reduced price to be sent down from the main office". Hopefully this is not an example of what is to come in the new world order of monopoly because it is an absolute deception to miss lead shoppers into assuming they can receive a discounted price at the register only to be humiliated as a spectacle to others when you are debating why you are being charged the regular price with no discount offered to you. well needless to say I found out the hard way while standing in the check out line for nearly 30 min. as the debate continued leaving those viewing to conclude that I was trying to get something for a reduced price when the store intended to get full price by way of this bate and switch policy. Whats worse is the fact that wal mart acknowledges this practice but refuses to change there methods by keeping the unmarked supposed discounted item of the discount shelf until they can properly display a discount price on the item.

If you haven't worked retail, you don't know how it is run. I've worked in retail for over five years and that is a common mistake that happens with customers. Most of the time the customer did NOT read the tag correctly. For example: If a tag says "buy more and save" it means that you have to buy more than one to get the deal on the item that you want. Walmart is known for having scanners throughout the store so you can verify the price. A LOT of retail stores don't have these-and it tends to be a big draw back when dealing with someone who is trying to "get a deal" that does not exist. And if you are at a store that doesn't have a scanner, the least you could do is try to figure out how they label their products when putting it on the shelf so that you will know if it is the correct price tag. In the end, if you tell an employee (specifically a manager) about a product that is in the wrong place, let them know. Whatever employee put it their needs to make sure that they know how to do their job correctly.
It's a shame that walmart treats their employee's like garbage. It's a great place to shop for what you need. I'd like to be able to get better customer service when I need help looking for something.

when walmart makes a mistake, don't let it go, fight them all the way. chances are you might not win, but there are the times when you can. take them all the way. my boyfriend has won more times than not with these people at walmart when they are in the wrong. you just need to know a little bit about consumer protection. there are a lot of litty bitty laws that they have to abide by. look them up. we as consumers let walmart get away with making too much money as it is. don't forget the wrong scan price law. its a % of the price of the product up to $5 plus the refund of the product. i forget what the name of this policy is but they don't advertise it. i just call it "i want my $5 for the incorrect scanning policy"

I live in South Texas and can tell you that ALL the Walmarts down here have horrible customer service especially the one in Palmhurst, Texas. Finding an associate to help you is like pulling teeth. I have had price discrepancies of a few cents that they refused to honor. Make sure that you look at the register as they are scanning your merchandise.
Every single time I have shopped there at least one of my items does not match the price on the shelf, and they wont change the price. If you do decide to argue the price, it becomes a big production. I bought a 10 lb package of ground beef that was marked down from $10 for about $4 because it was due to expire. I looked away as they were scanning it and didn't realize until I had payed that I had been charged full price. The cashier told me that I would have to go to customer service to get a price adjustment. I asked to speak to a manager and asked her if they had a fast fix option at the register like Target does and was told that they were too busy and I had to go to customer service. After standing at the service desk line for 45 minutes, I returned the beef and got my $10 back.(It was the principal) As I was walking out, I noticed the same "busy" manager returning an item from another customer at a register. I was so pissed. Long story short...Walmart sucks. Shop at Target instead.

Hi folks,
I have had similar experiences at the Hornell, NY Wal-Mart. However, if you are ever in Bradford, Pa definatly shop at that Wal-Mart. The employees are the friendliest, most helpfull I have ever encountered in a retail store. If they have a pricing mistake, you usually are given the item at the price displayed. I got a 45.00 radio controlled Airplane for 15 bucks from there because of a pricing mistake. I was not made to wait any longer than it took for the employee to check out the mistake for the manager. Being a small city, everyone that works there are our neighbors and friends, and I think that is why the service is so good there.

This is the third time in a row I have shopped at a WalMart and found my receipt incorrect with double charged. Walmart complete waste of money!

At the walmart store located in trinidad, colordado, there is very poor care regarding the garden center. There is a greenhouse set up at walmart with hundreds of plants in it. On the week of April 6th, 2007, we had freezing drizzle and temperatures fell below freezing. I noted that a portion of the greenhouse siding was down and the plants exposed to the cold. Of course, no one was in the garden center to report this to. A few days later when i returned, hundreds of these plants were frozen. These plants are not salvageable at this point. Also noted some of the plants that are part of the garden center connected to the walmart store also suffered frost damage.

What a waste of money, and totally disgusting to let all of these plants just freeze. I would like to know who is responsible for this or does anyone in management care. It's probably just a tax write off so it's not a big deal, however, i think it shows very poor management and lack of responsibility, plus such a waste.

Why should Walmart care about killing all their live garden center stock? They (along with Lowe's, Home Depot, K-Mart and most other big box stores) get their plants in on consignment. If they kill them, the grower is the one who takes a loss, not the store. If they let them freeze, it doesn't cost them anything. If they don't water them and they die, oh well. In fact, most of the growers have merchandisers who go to the stores and work the plants instead of the store itself doing any work with the plants.

Walmart walmart - think again, and quit advertising lower prices!

I bought a LexMark Z645 printer at WalMart 3 months ago. The thing has barely ran a fourth of the black ink out of it and already the paper guide or automatic feeder is broken on it. I have to hand feed each sheet to get something printed. What a major hassle!

I heard that WalMart will no longer receive returns. Is that true.

Purchased at Woodward, Oklahoma.

Also purchased for us at the Woodward WalMart for Christmas by family members:

Two years ago we received a Mr Coffee coffeemaker with the alarm brew set button that made the coffee start perking at the time you specified. Of course you had to put the ingredients in it the night before, but it lasted 2 months. It was one of the expensive models and since we had no receipt, we couldn't get another one. It just quit working, no visible reason, and we are not that hard on our things.

Everytime I have to go into WalMart, it just irritates me. I would rather spend my money at any other store in my area than WalMart. Their groceries are not as good as our ShurFine brand at the Venture store locally at Buffalo, Oklahoma. And the Venture store has great sales on their merchandise and what is advertised IS in the store.

Atwoods Town and Country stores even have better quality and lower prices than the WalMart store that sits next to them on the highway!

WalMart - think again, and quit advertising lower prices, ha ha. You suck.

Walmart complete dissatisfaction of the order!

To Whom it May Concern:

After I talked to the customer service agent on the telephone for over 30 minutes, I was told that I would get a refund for one complete sweatshirt that was placed on back-order and then never shipped, plus a shipping refund of .84cents twice. I don't think a credit in the amount of $2.11 adds up the cost of the Black NBA Sweatshirt that was never shipped because you were out of stock. I ordered these items for a X-Mas present for my Son & my three Teenage Grandchildren. When I ordered the Four NBA Sweatshirts I was told that they would be delivered before X-Mas. The sweatshirt I had to re-order was delivered December 28th, 2006. (Three days after X-Mas) My original order less the black sweatshirt was delivered January 2nd, 2007. (Seven days after X-Mas) When it was all said and done, one sweatshirt that I had to re-order because the Black X-Large was placed on backorder was never delivered. Furthermore it was not on backorder, you just simply didn't have it, and notified me via email 4 days later and said it was not available. Trying to reach a customer service agent for the great Walmart is almost impossible. When I finally reached a customer service agent today January 26, 2007., she was rude and tried to cover up the entire issue of trying to solve my problem, and never did explain why my X-Mas order was not delivered on time for X-Mas. She also kept saying they were "T-Shirts" not "Sweatshirts" and was very rude each time I corrected her.

You would think a customer service representative would know the difference between a sweatshirt and a t-shirt. Another thing that I don't understand why you ask for all the information such as a phone number, address, etc., etc., because according to your customer service agent you only use emails to notify the customer about a problem.. Why don't you just ask for an email address, because that is apparently the only contact you use with the customer. I could complain for hours about my complete dissatisfaction with this entire ordeal, but I will not. I was a K-Mart Store Manager for a long period of time, and if I would have treated my customers like I was treated, my District Manager would have fired me on the spot. I think I have no alternative at this point to contact the President of Walmart and let he or she know about my complete dissatisfaction of this order.

My complaint with Walmart started several nights ago, in Paris Tennessee. We are working on the new bowling center, trying to get it open by Thanksgiving, and we are working in the neighborhood of fourteen hours a day, everyday. By the time we get off work at night, there is no place to buy the things we need for the job the next day open except Walmart. Since we are working out of town we depend on this service center for all our tools, groceries, miscellaneous hygiene items, and clothing since we came unprepared for the cold snap that came through here this week. This week alone, we have spent more than $500.00 at this store and the night time security man that watches the door, was the rudest man I have ever had to deal with. Since I bought a bagful of saw blades and a half inch drill the other night, the cashier didnt demagnetize the tools and the alarm went off as I was leaving the store and since I was there as soon as I got off work and hadn't cleaned up yet, he thought he was a real Barney Fife. he accused me of stealing something even though I had my register receipt. When I showed it to him, he wouldn't accept that I just purchased the things. I had to wait until he checked everything in the computer and verified each and every item. I was so mad by the time he went through the list, I had to just take my stuff from him and walk out! The next night, I was back in there, because I didnt really have a choice,to buy a new pair of boots. The next day, the fastener that holds the string popped off the boot so when I got off work, I went to the motel to get my receipt so I could take them back to exchange them, but the maid apparently threw the receipt away, but I went there anyway to explain the situation. I told the lady that I had just purchased them the night before, and that I just wanted to exchange them for a new pair but she said without the receipt, she wouldnt do anything, that I was just out $59.00 If this complaint just sits here and I don"t get any kind of reply, or satisfaction, I assure you that I will never shop at Walmart again and I am very influential and affiliated with numerous shoppers and will do everything in my power to stop purchases at this business. Thank you

I have been shopping with you for the past 10 years I believe. I have a credit card account with you which at this point I do not know what is going on. I have attempted to use my card for the past three months and it does not work at the register. for the past two months I have made purchases with other credit cards when I've been told i have credit available in my card. This past Friday, October 12 i shopped at your stocoton Superwalmart. Since the walmart card did not work I had to use a providian credit card. This inconvenience has thrown my budget off since my purchase was over $200.00 To make matters worse on exiting your security clerk became very rude, confused and just plain harassing me because I could not find my tag. I was treated like a criminal. I asked your employees questioning me to go back with me to register 19 to the clerk who had charged me. The clerk was not there, she went on her break. The manager who had assisted me,(not very helpful before and somewhat rude continued to show rudeness. I have spoken to you phone service about changing my address to no response. I have not received my statement for the past two months and called the number on the credit card. Still no response to my request. At this point I do not know where I stand with you and my account. I would very much like to continue to do business with you. As a teacher for the past 20 years your store has great items and prices. But I am very very humiliated upset and distraught as to the way I am being treated. I'd be most appreciative at a quick response to this matter.

Thank You,
Martha Tachiquin.

Hey guys,on Sunday October 7th,2007,my car was hit in the Walmart parking lot at Walker Springs in Knoxville, TN, somewhere between 12:00p.m. and 1:30p.m.I called the police, and as suspected, couldn't do anything but take a police report, giving my I.D. and car insurance information, which will cause my rates to go up, when they find out,so I decided not to file one. I went back in the store to see the outside cameras, so that I could find out who hit my car, and they refused, claiming that they needed a warrant or official order from the police. So,the next day,I called the Knox county police, stating what Walmart said, and as expected, they wouldn't help me,because I wasn't robbed, or my child wasn't abducted. They (police) advised me to make a hit and run report, and file it to my own insurance.I'm not doing that, just so my rates can go up (it's a Pontiac Firebird and is already $140/month). As lowdown as this person that hit me was, I'd like to take a moment and let people know that Walmart is even lower. All they would have to do,is just take a moment of there time to allow me to see the 1 1/2 hour of tape needed to find the culprit, and then file a police report against that person, but no, they claim their video cameras are for private use, not to help justice in any way. Anyway, f the person that hit my car ever reads this, I want him/her to know that I forgive them for what they did, but I pray that God keeps them from ever doing this to another person, and if they do, I hope they get caught in the act.

Walmart - gift card never received!

I completed the long and involved questionnaire and I had to accept 4 different items. I took two credit cards; ordered Boca coffee and applied for an on-line business with Ebay. When I got to the last screen, it did a round robin on me and would not go to the last screen so I could receive my $500 Walmart card. It kept telling me to go back to page 2. ...

If you had gotten a job and paid them, then they wouldn't have forwarded you to collections - if you can't afford it, then don't buy it. You deserve to be harrassed for trying to cheat them out of the money you owe them.

Did you tell the people at walmart you were going through bankruptcy? From the moment you apply for bankruptcy all collection calls should of stopped, if not when they call you again you tell them you have filed for bankruptcy and give them your file#, Once you have done that, they are not allowed to call you again or they can be sued, let them know that too! As for your job, once you request the company to stop calling your job, they must stop or can also be sued. Write them a letter requesting they stop calling you at work, so you have proof that you told them, I hope this helps .

Walmart does not carry wonderbar german bologne

After shopping 2 years at Walmart Super Store and ordering a pound of Wonderbar German Bologne every week this week they informed me they NO LONGER carry that brand. In the past they had mentioned how popular it was so it is to my dismay what happened. The Manager of the store said all Walmart's will not have it any longer. Why?

I think that it is a shame that when a person finds somthing really good like Wonderbar German Bologna that a great big store like Walmart has to discontinue it. I get so sick of things like this! Another thing, Walmart doesn't keep their shelves stocked like they should. Somestimes I go there for things like bread and they don't even have the brand I like.

The Big wiggs in Arkansas should think about trying to please the people instead of just lining their pockets.
They keep raising prices all the time. What we pay for milk in there is just rediculous especially when it is supposed to be a discount store! We can always buy milk cheaper at the local convenience stores or at the gas station! Portage, IN

I have identical comments and feelings about WalMart in Stuart, FL.

There were many times that I could not get the Wonderbar because they were out! ! ! You would think they would carry a product that sells out all the time. Who are the EMPTY SUITS making these decisions?

Walmart something is very wrong here!

For years my friends and I have been loyal Walmart customers. In the last two years we have been very disappointed in the quality of clothing and the crowded condition of the Women's Plus Department.

We have been trying to find someone to complain to for a long time and didn't know where to turn. I even thought about getting a petition with the names of women that are very disgusted with that department. Not only does Walmart carry dowdy clothing,no coordinates,no nice dresses, no blazers, dressy jackets, absolutely no pantsuits. The fantastic JMS bootcut leggings that we all loved to buy have been replaced with hideous pocket leggings that show pocket seams below blouses or tees! Women like fashionable clothes in bright colors, good style, as well as quality at a fair price. Whoever does the merchandising for Walmart must have failed the class and lied on their application when they got hired or is being done by men who do not know anything about women's clothing!

My friend and I used to shop at Walmart at least four to five times a week at Walmart. We used to tell the cashiers that we owned Walmart because we spent all our money there! We would even shop at midnight, one and two in the morning! In the last two years we have been going maybe once a month and sometimes not even that often. We are so disappointed in what is available that we don't frequent the store. On top of the bad merchandise, the Women's Department is always so crowded with merchandise that you cannot comfortably walk between the aisles with or without a basket and especially if there are a lot of women shopping. The clothes are in disarray, scattered every where and sometimes there are carts full of clothes that have not been hung up.

Women shop for clothes because they feel good when they have something new to wear. They go into a store with the anticipation of finding a good buy. When you shop in the Women's Plus you enter a disappointing, depressing, claustrophobic department. This department needs a total makeover by making it spacious, with good lighting, mirrors,a couple of chairs for those that cannot stand too long to wait or for husbands that shop with their wives. Walmart needs to make us happy to be in this department and make it a joy for us to shop.

Another area that absolutely need a lot of help, is the women's shoes. In spring when sandals, pastel and white shoes should be available, you can only find dark browns, navy, tan, etc. As soon as summer is about over, you will find pastels and whites and sandals! Something is very wrong here.

I’m tired of Walmart lack of Customer Service! Quality and prices.. I do t know what’s going on with their ugly fall clothing line! It’s like stepping into the twilight zone. Ugly ugly who were your buyers and where is this cheap stuff coming from?! Produce is ridiculous! Either they are out or most appears to be the lowest quality. Onions for example new ones put out only to be as old and rotting as the ones replaced.. one cashier for all the people I’m tired of Walmart trying to string arm us into checking out our own groceries! We don’t work for Walmart! And a couple so called managers out in forest grove( heavy set long hair blinding brown wears yellow vest is downright rude and nasty! It does Nothing for your image! Not all seniors disabled can check their own items nor should we have to.. instead of gaining more loyal customers and keeping ones who have been with you for years you are losing us..

Bring back the faded glory and all other brands that Walmart had. Now all they have is depressing colors and what they do have is all in the same sad colors.
Used to walk in Walmart in clothing and get things all the time. Now the sizing is way off. Sometimes changing is not better. They should realize that none of there clothes is selling. So sad!

Thank you for saying this. I know your comment was from last year, but I have been looking at the ladies clothes at Walmart and all I can say is downright ugly. They have cute styles for juniors but the clothes for older ladies (I am retired) are awful. Either they are cut too low or the styles are nothing short of baggy and unflattering. Also this summer, so many verticle stripes that no one looks good in, a lot of black and olive green. Nobody looks good in olive green! Any patterns are awful. You can tell the clothing is made cheaply and outside of the U.S. That said Walmart is where a lot of people shop to get low prices.

OK, Ladies... I'm not going to be mean, but it's Walmart-Fall-Apart, we are talking about here. They make Billions of dollars a year, Selling awful crappy clothes that don't fit well.

There are a TON of stores, out there, where you can still get a deal, AND find clothing that is figure flattering. Lane Bryant will have 70% off Sales. Target. The Avenue, Ross Dress for Less, Catherines, and Torrid has a lot of sales too...

When it comes down to it, you want pieces that are beautiful... Pieces that you can incorporate into a wardrobe, and keep for a while! EVERYONE can do better than Walmart's Clothing. You deserve it.

I actually like Just My Size jeans and I am in need of replacing the ones I bought at Walmart over 8 years ago and for a family reunion trip last month 9/2018. I was SCHOCKED that Walmart is NOT carrying this brand in their stores & the New brand seems to be only a 2X - maybe 3X and cheap material. I am between a 3X and a 4X so I buy the 4X the majority of times. So apparently I am going to add to my weight loss goals to be a 3X so I can go back & shop at Target when I need something quick & not too overpriced. Bye Walmart.

I agree with all the comments about Walmart's Plus Size department! Ugh! I used to buy 5X ladies tops (size 28-30 or 30-32) but no longer. Guess they just don't carry them any more. And the department is a disaster. I just stopped there today and all the size tags on the hangers faced inward instead of outward so you can see the size! Walmart you need help!

I do wear a size 8 and the clothing in that dept. is also trashy and cheap looking. I quit shopping for anything at Wal-mart. I don't discriminate people on size ...you are not alone on the complaint but the negative person on here that likes to make themself feel better by telling other people ugly things, you need to go get some help with your thoughts. I believe you have a mental problem and your poor social skills probably don't help, it's obvious you do not know how to communicate with people

Irish! I could not get over your analogy of this complaint. After looking through more or less 30 of your 140+ comments I noticed you side with the company the person complains about. I will bet 98% of the time you side with the company that is complained about. You are negative, insufferable and discourteous to say the least. You filed a complaint saying you were accused of stealing a VCR accidentally!? You want people to believe you!? You have an ID of IRISH. I know there are black irish, never the less, I never seen an African American that is IRISH. Is this a game to you, or do you have a problem?

Most of your comments have thumbs down. I also have noticed Trevor also follows your comments.

I was compelled to comment on IRISH. I would not doubt if there is a complaint on IRISH

The Just My Size women's plus clothing at Wal-Mart is complete garbage. I have purchased 3 pairs of the JMS slacks to wear for work in the past month. The first two pairs of slacks I took back both in the same day. I had the pants on for about 10 minutes at work; the pants were very big on me and I noticed the seams didn't match up and PRESTO! My pants did the splits right down the crotch area. The next pair of Just My Size slacks had holes all and up down the legs. So two weeks later, around last week, I purchased a pair of Just My Size trouser slacks for work. I thought, $18, these will be great. And they were for a work or so, until I washed them. I washed them the exact way they said to on the wash label. Well the material of the slacks disintegrated. The slacks shrunk to about 7 inches shorter than they originally were and the color faded from black to a light gray. And I didn't use any bleach on them. The clothes are poor quality even for those prices. I went to Cato and paid a little more for a much better pair of khakis for work.

Walmart walmart is a junk! don't buy gold/silver jewelry!

My wife, Maria, bought two sets of earrings at Walmart in upper Hamilton, Ontario, in October 2006 just before she left on a two month trip overseas... Since the items were in a bubble-pak, she could not try them on at the store, but took them with her overseas... When she went to try them on, the studs of the earrings turned out to be too short to make them useful for any more than notepad tacks, or, stud earrings for the gills of a fish...

Since, she was out of the country for more than a month, the store return policy is useless... Don't buy gold/silver jewelry at "Walmart" ! It's junk!

first of all, I want to agree with dawni.
I have NEVER had an issue returning something at walmart.
well, I shoudn't say never had an "issue" but I've NEVER been refused.
They DO take EVERYTHING back REGARDLESS of reciept, timeframe, price, and within reason, condition of product. You can almost destroy a product and return it for exchange or full refund.

I bought a book for my mother for her birthday. I got confused about the author's name, and ended up buying a harlequin book. I got home before I realized it was the wrong author, and went back to exchange it. The cashier gave me a rediculously hard time returning it. (I blame PMS, cuz she was a real ###. I think I got her fired that day too. I've never seen her again.) I refused to accept "no" for an answer, as I had only been in possession of the book for 2 hours. Their policy is not to return reading materials as you can read them, and no longer have use for it. Walmart is not a library! However, after speaking to the CSM (who I found out was as useless as the cashier in the first place), then speaking to the store's GM, they concluded I couldn't have read an entire novel in 2 hours and decided to give me a gift card instead of cash, even though I had a reciept.

I have also bought headphones, used them for 3 or 4 months, broke them, and exchanged them for "defect".

I also was doing some returns at a few stores, and I had bought diapers at zellers when they were on sale. I bought 5 boxes. my kid outgrew them by the end of box 4. so I had a box of diapers that were too small for him now. I knew they were from zellers, but figured I'd try to exchange them at walmart.
The cashier scanned them, barcode of course did not register in their system. She says to me: "are you sure you bought them here?" I said "no, not sure at all." she said "ok. I'll have to give you last sale price, on a gift card. is that ok?" I said "could I just exchange them for same product but bigger size?" she says "sure. you can go pick the product and bring it back here, and I'll swap it for you."

I have also managed to weasel my way into returning opened console games. its a rather easy exploit. Buy it, burn it. take it back, say it doesn't work. they exchange it for a new 1 NOT opened. Now the tricky part. Lose your reciept, and return it w/o reciept. they give you gift card. buy something new.

So to conclude, Walmart may sell "cheap" products, but they sell them at a "cheap" price. Dont expect EVERYTHING in that store to last a lifetime. You get what you pay for! but also dont knock them. its probably the best store in terms of customer service on the planet.

I had an issue at zellers. I wanted to return something I bought the day before WITH a reciept.
they refused to give me cash because I paid with my debit card.
or rather, I paid with my WIFE's Debit card.
I did not have my wife's debit card on me, and she wasn't with me. they refused to return it. they said I could exchange it, or take store credit, OR they could refund it to the SAME Debit card.
I told them to refund it to MY card, because we have a joint bank account, so it makes absolutely NO difference. I spoke to 2 managers who basically told me to go F**k my hat.

you wanna knock a store, knock zellers.

Walmart merchandise is exactly what it is... quality wise and pricewise. Shoppers should not expect to purchase "high end jewelry" at a Walmart store. High end jewelry involves a lot of craftmanship... e.g diamonds must be cut to certain specifications, metals of the highest quality must be used in design of the item ..."craftmanship and design", not mass produced materials "that just barely pass quality control inspection". I am not surprised that the jewelry purchased did not meet the client's expectations.

I hate to say this but I think both of your complaints are BS !

EVERYONE knows that Wal-Mart will basically take back ANYTHING sometimes including items they dont even sell.

I personally have seen this done. And though their 90 day policy on returns is in place, its just a general idea and on most occasions the stores will at a minimum issue a gift card for the exchange price. However, it is ultimately the CONSUMERS responsibility to keep your receipts, therefore whining about taking an item back when you yourself haven't been responsible just makes your claims even more childish. Hypocritical is the word Im thinking. Dont b**ch and moan if you dont take your own responsibility as well.

If you had come into such a situation as you say, all you had to do was insist on speaking to an Assistant Manager, or someone above them. Wal-Mart mgt will all but bend over backwards to keep the customers coming back.

Ive seen a customer return a $200 kayack to our store with no reciept and the MGT told the service desk to give them CASH BACK... turns out the kayack wasnt sold at our store but at a local outdoor supply company in town.

I just saw the other day... receipts for a return done on a $345 XBox console... no receipt... CASH BACK

So maybe the store where you went gave you a hard time, or maybe the cashier seriously had an issue, but thing is if you had taken responsibility and asked for MGT (not CSM or dept mngrs) You might have received your exchanges..a store gift card (which with no receipt, the store is only obligated to give you the SALE price of the item) and or even CASH BACK.

Keep in mind, dude with the earrings...some items are considered to be health risks and may not be returnable...and you probably shouldve found a different way to get your money back such as contacting the company that made the earrings. Once again it comes down to the customer being ultimately responsible in their actions as well. Ask your wife if she would want to buy a pair of earrings, that someone else had placed in their ears first... thats just disgusting. And if she didnt take the time to look at the back of the stubs, which on most packaging Ive ever seen, you can clearly see the sizing of the posts..some are made shorter on purpose for smaller children and or those with skinnier earlobes, then I cant imagine she has a complaint to stand on. I cant imagine earrings that weren't clearly accessible for her to see, and are wrapped in bubble packaging weren't very costly in the first place and she should take her $3 gold plated crap and be happy, shes got some cute little notepad tacks... right ?

RESPONSIBILITY ! Think about it people !

I purchased a humidifier for my little boy's room. It worked properly for about four days before the water level stopped going down and began making noises that seemed potentially dangerous.

I took it back to their customer service department where I was promptly told that this was a seasonal item which they had sold out of. The clerk as if I had the box it came it or a receipt. Well, I didn't purchase the item expecting it to malfunction, so no..I had neither of those items. I wasn't asking for my money to be returned, I just wanted another humidifier. If they had no more of the same kind in stock, I would take another brand and simply pay the difference. I was basically told "sucks to be you".

So, from now on.I'll go to Target to buy any appliance type merchandise because Wal-Mart evidently believes that I should count on anything I buy from them to be faulty, therefore I should keep the box and the receipt in just such a case.

Hey, Walmart Corporation..you've lost touch with the people who make your business run successfully. Target stores and other discount stores thank you for your willingness to admit you sell worthless CRAP!

Walmart wal-mart's return policy sucks!

I recently purchased a desktop from walmart and decided I wanted to take it back 22 days later. The box to the computer has never been open and with the receipt they denied the return because of a 15 day policy.

When the computer was purchased I was not advised of this policy. If I were I would of accepted the fact of the denial but I WAS NOT! The customer service rep did assure that compaq would take it back. I just got off the phone with them and after about 2hrs of arguing with them they would not take it back either( Something about wakmart being a third party so they couldn't accept it). Once again this computer has never been touched and I do have a receipt! Not only after this incident did I return a 1300 Tv I purchased for Christmas, I am disgusted with Walmart and the rude customer service reps and I will stop shopping at Wal-Mart and Sams being I spend over 30000 a month at Sams on supplies for my business. One customer may not hurt their business but target and best buy will love more business!

walmart is complete ### with their ### return policy. i had bought a craptop (hp notebook) from walmart on black friday. about a month later, without any warning, my ###Top started acting up (keep i mind that i had never once dropped or gotten the ###Top wet). the screen started flickering, it didn't charge and the touch pad mostly stopped being responsive. even through all that, i still managed to keep it in working order however was barely able to use it very well. fast forward a month later (three days ago), i went into walmart to return the piece of ###. i went to customer service and handed them my craptop. the ### employee lady there gave me this exaggerated and obviously BULL### fake sympathetic expression and said that their return policy is 15 days. now, i would've been fine with this and dealt with if i were told the truth about the return policy. BUT I WAS ###ING LIED TO, MOTHER###ER. the dip### old ### employee guy who gave me the laptop on black friday lied after i asked him about the return policy. he said, "you can return it at anytime. you can return anything to walmart if you dont like it." so now, i'm stuck with this goddamn piece of ### and a waste of $200.
(i tried calling hp but they didn't give a ### or want to help me. all they could do is repair the ###ing thing. i just want my money back, not a ###ing repair.)

I had an item today that was gifted to me through an office Christmas party at work. I didn't have a receipt, but I knew Walmart as the type of place where one could return dirty underwear with no receipt and still get store credit. I had a brand new, unopened box Microsoft Surface Pro 4-- and all I wanted to do was return it for store credit so I could get the iPad I preferred. Until this point, I was unaware of the 15 day return policy on electronics, and I was unaware of the original purchase date. So the customer service guy checked the UPC in their computer to track the original purchase date. The item was bought a few days over their 15 day limit, so he rudely proclaimed to me that this item could not be returned to this or any Walmart. I was pretty crestfallen, having expected a different outcome-- sans rudeness. So I left the store with my item.
At home, I read through Walmart's return policy online to see if there were any loopholes I could use in my favor. Alas, there was an entry in the corporate return policy stating that items purchased between the dates of Nov 1 through Dec 24 would qualify for another 15 day return window starting Dec 26. I thought this could be the leverage I needed to return my item sooner rather than later. So I went back to the same store I visited earlier and the same dead-eyed clerk was my only option behind the customer service desk. I explained the holiday return policy I saw, and basically asked if I could use that excuse to return the item now instead of waiting another 11 days and deal with the madness of after-Christmas crowds. The guy behaved like a robot that was only programmed to say NO. He called a manager for me, who was also no help. I even explained how ludicrous it was for me to be forced to wait nearly 2 weeks just to return the same item, only because the initial return window had expired (which was out of my control). The manager showed a glimmer of humanity, going to her superior in an attempt to help me out-- but her superior blocked me from service as well.
When it's all said and done-- I felt my request was reasonable, but the policy and its enforcers were unreasonable. I will never purchase electronics at Walmart on my own because of this awful experience. I advise that everyone else do the same, as long as this anti-consumer policy remains in place.

Maybe you are some walmart employees who are just embarrased by your company. Please, find the correct words to use instead of cursing through out the sentence. Or maybe you're just not educated enough. I had this same problem with Walmart on Friday. I refused to accept their lame excuse that the return policy is on a poster in the customer service are. My reciept however did not have anything printed on it. So I asked for a manager(took her 20minutes) I felt that if Walmart wanted the customer to know their return policy...Walmart needed to print that on the back of the reciept. So after I told her that I'm a customer service Manager myself(thank God, not for Walmart) I got my money. I had the un opened items including my reciept, which the 90 days expired 10 days prior.

Amanda Currie is completely correct. You are a stupid person and I feel sorry for the Wal-mart employee who had to deal with your incompetence. Their return policy was made available to you and it is a very generous one at that.

Walmart biased return policy!

I have been a loyal walmart customer for over 20 years, spending thousands of dollars there. In that amount of time I probably returned 3 things to that store. I have never had a problem until this new policy there of returns went into effect. I had received a gift of a digital camera, which was too complicated for me to use, and given as an anonymous gift for a mission trip to me at our church. They did not leave receipt or name, for obvious reasons but did put a note on it that it was bought at walmart. It was sku'd at Walmart and they sell this camera.

When I brought it in, I explained the situation. I was told that, the only thing they would do is... give me another camera. I didn't want money back, but a gift card so I could purchase things for kids for Christmas that wouldn't have anything. They refused to do that, even though they sku'd the camera up, it showed in stock. They said it was due to the money involved. Well, they had no problem TAKING the money for the camera. It was in an unopened box, with tape still attached. The sign at Walmart says they are ready to always satisfy the customer with return, credit or repair. I didn't want another camera==why bring a camera back that you aren't going to use, to only get another one? Makes no sense at all.

Had I bought 600.00 worth of merchandise and returned it all, there would not have been a problem. However, because I returned an ELECTRONICS item, there was. I feel as though they are now treating all their customers as thieves, since they refuse to return ANY electronic item. Had they looked my name up, they would have seen my many, MANY purchases over the years there.

This is so wrong and I am hoping that someone will see this, contact me and allow these kids to get a Christmas, instead of a camera sitting in a closet, collecting dust.

I agree the returns policy is a pain to deal with. Walmart simply assumes that everyone is a thief, mainly because they get so much stuff stolen from them...it's shoplifters that ruin it for everyone. Plain and simple. One person commented about door greeters sitting down, however...door greeters and cashiers are only allowed to sit down if they have a paper from their doctor that says that they need to be allowed to sit. It's called reasonable accomodation for disabled people, allowing them to be able to work when they otherwise would not be able to.

Wal-mart gets lots of scammers, them make thier living off of us and stealing from us. The company is greedy yes. But when it comes to return policys we are fair. I work there as u can guess. I don't agree with everything they do but as far as the return policy it is fair more than fair. We have customers who buy shoes and return them after wearing and ruining them for months. And get a full refund. They Buy TV's and they return them and try to put bricks and other things into it or even the old tv and seal it up and try to get it to pass. Everyone has to open them to check now. And when u get one they try to say they bought it that way. It is just horriable how the customers theft drives up our prices. If there wasn't so much theft maybe it would be cheaper to live. U think when u sleal no one pays for it? Nope the people who don't steal end up paying for your theft in higher prices! U should be assamed for trying to return that camera it was for a church and given in good will. Shame on you!

The least the associates could have done was look up the serial number on their returns screen to see if any information popped up. There it will tell you where it was actually bought and what day. That would have been the first step the next, providing it was in the returns screen, then it would have to be within the return policy of thirty days. Finally if all of that was all set then they should have given a store credit or exchange for a more simple camera.

If the camera is unused and that point is obvious just by looking at the box and even opening it up and checking that what is inside is what is stated on the box, receipt or not, they should honor the return. It isn't like they are not going to just put it back on the shelf and sell it to someone else. Wal Mart won't lose money if they give her a gift card for the amount of the camera. Don't be so judgmental about what the person who is returning the camera is saying. It was a gift, yes, for a mission trip, but still a gift which she tried to exchange so that she could buy gifts for the underprivileged kids who will get more out of that than they would have gotten from getting their picture taken and posted on a post mission trip presentation so all the church goers will know what wonderful work they are doing. I think the person giving the camera really should have thought that one through, but frankly, it isn't my business why they did what they did.

The person whose family/friend is stealing - report them to the police anonymously. If you do nothing you are showing tacit agreement with what they are doing. If you do NOT report it and they get caught and anyone finds out you knew and did nothing, you could, potentially be an accessory after the fact to the crime. Besides all that, it is morally wrong to steal and morally wrong to stand by and do nothing to stop that action once you see it occurring. TAKE THE HIGH ROAD AND TELL THE POLICE.

OKAY I HAVE READ MOST OR ALL OF THESE COMMENTS.

LOL WHERE DO I START...FIRST ABOUT THE CAMERA...THE REASON FOR THE NO RETURN POLICY WITH NO RECEIPT...IT WAS PROBABLY STOLEN...THEY DO NOT! HAVE TO TAKE YOUR WORD THAT IT WAS A GIFT...GET OVER IT!

SECOND...THE ONE WITH THE CLOTHES...YOU DO NOT...I REPEAT...DO NOT HAVE TO EXCHANGE FOR CLOTHES IN THE SAME DEPARTMENT...THAT IS NOT A COMPANY POLICY!

LAST...SOME WALMART STORES MIGHT SHOW NO CONCERN FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES...THAT IS NOT! COMPANY WIDE...ITS YOUR STORE...YOUR MANAGMENT.

THEY DO HAVE A ASSOCIATES IN CRITICAL NEED PROGRAM...I KNOWI HAVE USED IT...I WAS ABOUT TO BE EVICTED AND WALMART GAVE ME A $1000 DOLLAR CHECK...THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY BACK. IF YOUR MANAGMENT WONT TELL YOU ABOUT IT YOU NEED TO GO TO YOUR MARKET HR REP...ALSO ABOUT LAYING OFF LONG TERM ASSOCIATES...THATS BULL CRAP...THERE HAS TO BE A REASON WHY THEY WERE FIRED...IF THERE WAS NO REASON THEN GOTO COURT OR CALL THE HOME OFFICE. IF YOU DONT WANNA TAKE THE TIME TO DO THAT THEN YOU PROBABLY DESERVED TO BE FIRED.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...IF YOUR STORE IS CUTTING HOURS IT IS BECAUSE YOUR STORES SELLS! 95% OF THE TIME SALES ARE LOW DUE TOO BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. MY STORE HAS A ORIENTATION ALMOST EVERY WEEK. WE ARE DOING GREAT. WE WON STORE OF THE YEAR FOR OUR REGION AND STORE OF THE YEAR FROM OUR DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR HAVE THE NICEST EMPLOYEES AND CLEANEST STORE. OUR ELECTRONICS DEPARTMENT ALONE MAKES MORE MONEY IN A WEEK THEN A WHOLE STORE DOES IN A WEEK.

Walmart cancelling the layaway program

Walmart, locations in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas in Pennsylvania

I am rather upset with Walmart's policy to end the layaway program. I just noticed this change while shopping at the Robinson Township Pennsylvania location.

This really upset me and let me explain why. How many single parents, elderly, people with minimum wage jobs, people at or just above the federal poverty level shop at Walmart? I am sure a very large percentage of their customers. What happens to that single parent at Christmas that cannot afford to write out a large check to buy presents? They utilize the layaway program so they can pay a little each month. What about the minimum wage worker who may need some larger ticket items, television, maybe large household items such as tables, chairs, bedding etc? Can they afford to write out a large check all at once? No, because they need to pay rent, utilities, food etc but they can afford a little each month. The elderly who may want to purchase expensive items, if they are only receiving social security how can they afford to pay for such items? They can't. I cannot imagine even the Walmart store employees not utilizing the layaway program because lord knows they are not making much higher than minimum wage.

I just feel the more and more companies are forgetting about the little guy and it is time the CEO's who make millions realize that all of america is not wealthy, many live paycheck to paycheck and by eliminating some services they greatly affect many people. I hope this complaint actually does some justice and it is read by many people who will flood Walmart with complaints and they will change their minds.

Yeah, we had an Assistant Manager fired for "Integrity issues". And for almost a year, no one got their MyShare bonuses and a hiring freeze. I heard the regional manager got fired for embezzling. Some how that affected the bonuses. So i don't understand why Walmart didn't make good on those bonuses and issue them to the associates that worked hared for them! I wouldn't have gotten any of them anyway as I was a recent hire. Some people are only honest to a oint, then see an opening and steal like hell! You would think there would be many safeguards for this!

Trevorr - In seasonal items I was refering to something like clothing. I would understand not putting Halloween costumes on Layaway! lol! As for the thievery going on, I just don't see how these things are not caught a heck of a lot sooner. "They" say "everything is on camera", so I why aren't they caught? You would think with the Telxon and everything that they would notice quicker. At least on something so scarce as the Wii. But then, we don't have security guards, either. And only 2 people check in the high dollar stuff and then they bring it directly to the department. So if anything is missing, the first place to look would be the 2 people checking it in.

At My wal-mart before the layaway stopped we had someone who paid $700 roughly for a television. He said he had no room for it so it was later returned, repurchased and put on layaway he paid a dollar less. It took six months of calling to get him to pick up the television.

Then we had an incident where the security guard would steal Nintendo Wii's from employees, the employees would get a refund since they were scarce and none was left. He would resell the stolen Wii's at half price. They later found out what was going on and matched the identification numbers.

lcyoro - The Wal-marts in Canada were different, we never allowed Layaway on seasonal items, but we got rid of Layaway for the same reasons you did.

You start a Christmas fund for your purchases. What's wrong with that? One of the reasons Layaway is gone is because people would either stop paying on it 2 months later or change their mind and cancel There is not enough room to hold these items as people want more variety of product and that takes more room. Plus, after people decide they don't want it, it might be out of season or discontinued and then the store has to mark it down.

I too think the Lay Away plan being cancelled was a great disservice. You can barely get around without a credit card. The world is in too much debt because of companies like this.
Their service and system sucks bad. I have quit buying from them.

I have to agree with this. My mother always had to put stuff on layaway when I was growing up. Now, what are parents supposed to do? Save up and just hope that maybe the stores will still have the "it" toy of the season the week before Christmas/birthday/etc.? Most wal-mart shoppers go to walmart because they can't afford other places (myself included).
