Sears smell from kenmore elite 2014

I purchased a sears kenmore elite 2014 and have had the same issues as others about a horrific smell coming from the back of the unit when the fan is running. I find it hard to believe that the handles and side color of my stainless steal refrigerator were seen as priority changes as apposed to the correction of this faulty drip tray...if that is the problem. I have washed out the tray twice and no sooner was I done the fan started and the smell was back again. This has been an ongoing problem since 2011... Who is responsible for quality control at Sears and why is this considered less relevant than a new color change. I am sharing my wows with all my friends and for sure future customers. Sears simply needs to stand behind its products or lets face it many "all American company's " be wary of you laurels.

You can buy a tablet that you place in pan and it will stop the smell. Asked your A/C person for a few drain pan tablets. This should take care of the problem. Also make sure the coils are clean of dust and lint this will also help. I do not thing its a problem with the equipment.See book on maintenance on your new refrigerator. Most all refrigerators for the last 10 to 15 years are the same and have the drain pan on bottom.

Sears delayed refund

I ordered several pairs of custom-cut blinds from Sears online. One set of blinds came without the hardware to attach it to the window. Sears told me they were unable to simply send me the hardware so I was forced to return the blind and order a new one. The blind with missing hardware was picked up by the shipping company June 2/14.
I received a call from Sears June 30/14 asking for the reason for return.
I called Sears today as I have still not received the refund. After a long wait and having to explain the issue to several people who seemed to have difficulty seeing basic information about the order ("Have you already returned the blind?"). I was told that Sears was still waiting for the warehouse to confirm they had received the returned blind. I was told they would send a "detail" to the "specialty team" dealing with my case. There was no way to contact this team directly. They could not tell me when this might be resolved.
Never again, Sears.

Sears master protection agreement scam

I always have my appliances covered under a Master Protection Agreement with Sears. In Feb/March of this year (2014) my contracts expired and I was not financially able to renew at that moment, but was able to do so on May 4. I placed 10 of my appliances/electronics under warranty (most of which had previously been under contract anyway). On June 17 I called Sears to ask for a service on my washing machine which was beginning to make a noise during the final spin cycle. On June 26 the technician came but immediately began complaining about the lack of space/room of where the washer was located. I told him we would have to move the washer away from the wall and away from the surrounding cabinetry and push it a few feet into a wider area in which he could work. HE NEVER EVEN OPENED THE WASHER DOOR, NOR DID HE DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. He kept complaining about the limited work space. I told him, "You don't even know what's wrong with the machine yet you are complaining about the work space?" So he asked what was wrong with it, and I explained about the noise it was making. He walked to the side to make a phone call. I could hear him asking someone to verify my warranty contract, and then he came back to me and said that since my contract was initiated in May, and we were now in mid-June, he could not honor the contract and it would have to be voided or cancelled. I could not believe what I was hearing. I requested the service call 45 days after initiating the contract. I placed all my appliances under contract, not just the washer. I kept arguing with him that it was absurd, and I insisted that he at least look at the washer to see what was wrong with it. He walked away once again and placed several calls. I heard him saying that my washer was "irreparable" and suggested that my contract be cancelled. A few minutes later he came to me with a printout from his portable computer and said, "Here is what will happen." He told me exactly what was reflected on the printout: that my contract was purchased in May, which means it will be voided and cancelled since we were only in the month of June. I responded with, "How can you do such a thing? On what grounds?" He said that it was the decision of Sears. I argued that I heard his conversation and I heard HIM telling them that the washer was irreparable and the contract should be cancelled. It was HIS suggestion because he did not want to move the washer and do the work. HE NEVER EVEN OPENED THE WASHER DOOR TO LOOK AT IT! As he walked out my front door, I asked him for his name, and he said "Hector Gonzalez." I immediately called Sears and reported what had happened. They said they would look into it. Three hours later I received a call from a local Service Dept supervisor who told me that the technician did not honor the repair because my contract had a 90-day elimination period and that the contract would not be voided. I said, "How can I have a 90-day elimination period on a 12-month contract? That's ridiculous!" She insisted that that was the end of the story and hung up on me. I called Customer Solutions again and complained about the supervisor's call. They told me that it was not true about the 90-day elimination period and told me I had a valid contract which was NOT being cancelled and they ordered that a technician come to my home again three days later. I had to stay home on this second occasion and waited all day long. No one came; no one called. At 3 pm I called Sears Customer Solutions. They said it seems that the Service Dept had cancelled the appointment and rescheduled for two days later, all without informing ME! So I had to take yet another day and sit home, and guess what? Yep. No one came, no one called. I called Customer Solutions and they told me it seems that my appointment had been cancelled by the very same Service Department. Now my case was being passed around from dept to dept as they began investigating. The Service Dept kept insisting that my contract was invalid and they were refusing to service me, yet Sears Corporate, through Customer Solutions, kept telling me my contract was valid and they rescheduled my service appointment yet one more time. Of course the Service Department cancelled that one too. I spent over one week calling Customer Solutions on a daily basis, sometimes on the phone for five hours at a time, trying to get this resolved, but no luck. One of the reps even read me the service tech's notes regarding his visit to my home, and he claims that the problem with my washer was a "pre-existing condition" so my contract should be voided based on that. And guess what? His name was not Hector Gonzalez, as he told me! He lied to me when I asked for his name! So now I am fighting with Sears Customer Solutions, trying to find out how a service tech can come to the conclusion that I had a pre-existing condition when he never even looked at the machine nor diagnosed it! He just did NOT want to do the work! At first the excuse was that I had recently taken out the warranty contract and I called too soon. Then it was that I had a 90-day elimination period. Then he said that my machine was old and not worth the money for Sears to repair it. Then, after Sears Corporate said that my contract was valid and the repair had to be made, the excuse was that it was a pre-existing condition. Now a Customer Solutions supervisor reads the notes of the tech stating that it was a pre-existing condition, and he says, "Oh, the tech says her problem is pre-existing, so we cannot honor the repair. Case closed." THE TECHNICIAN NEVER DIAGNOSED MY PROBLEM! HE NEVER LOOKED AT THE MACHINE! SO BASED ON WHAT IS IT PRE-EXISTING? WHAT IS THE DIAGNOSIS? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE MACHINE? No one knows because no one ever checked it. IS THERE ANYONE IN SEARS WHO UNDERSTANDS THE GROSS NEGLIGENCE THAT IS HAPPENING HERE? THE TECHNICIAN LIED ABOUT HIS NAME; HE LIED ABOUT MY CONTRACT; HE LIED ABOUT THE ELIMINATION PERIOD; HE CAME TO MY HOME AND NEVER EVEN CHECKED THE MACHINE; HE COMPLAINED ABOUT HAVING TO WORK ON THE WASHER IN ITS PRESENT LOCATION, THAT THERE WAS LITTLE ROOM TO WORK; AND THEN HE CLAIMED IT WAS A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT? I exhort Sears Corporate personnel or someone with authority to contact me to make this right, or else I will be talking to my attorney. THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT! [protected]@gmail.com

Sears kmitchen remodel

I contracted with Sears to remodel my kitchen, install new dishwasher, microwave oven and garbage disposal in May, 2014. The appliances were delivered fine...working fine...the problem is the kitchen cabinets. The laminate install was door so poorly that there are huge air bubbles underneath the cabinets, chipped and broken edges, and on one cabinet there is a footprint where they stepped on it. I ordered cabinets without handles and now I cannot open the cabinets because they were not measured properly and I cannot get my fingers in the cabinet tops to open them. Four of the drawers have still not been delivered or the shelving for the new cabinets installed. The workers who installed this mess were definitely not interested in doing their job. They only worked until noon each day and then informed me they do not work Fridays. We will not even start on the back splash they installed...I will learn to live with that. But I do want my kitchen back. If it were possible, I would have the entire mess removed and go somewhere else to do the job. I will NEVER use Sears again. Be forewarned if you are considering a kitchen makeover.

Sears complaint

My fridge began leaking water- under further investigation found the ice formation on the bottom of the fridge that were freezing and melting and freezing - the crisper drawers could not close.

Called it in - was told -10 days to have someone come out and service it. Indicated I could not wait that long was told that they could come tomorrow but I would have to be at home for 12 hours. Advised I would like to speak with the company or tech that was put up against it to get it to a 4 hour window . Put on hold then told now I was not able to be seen until the 27th or 10 days again.

I advised I would have food spoilage given that length of time, and asked for the process to claim same. Rep was polite but had no idea about the processes, then asked me for my email address so they could market to me. Could not believe the audacity - bought their plan - was not being serviced and now being asked for email address so they can sell me some more stuff.

UNBELIEVABLE

Sears Master service Protection plan is a scam. Our clothes dryer broke and they cannot service for 12 days minimum. Who, with a family, can wait 12 days for service! They hope that you'll use an independent service company as you can't wait that long and then they don't have to service your appliance at all. I was on the phone with Sears for over an hour and spoke to 7 different incompetent people. At the cost of $150 for this plan with a promise of same day service, this product is a scam! No wonder Sears business is failing! I'll never buy a product from them again!

Sears foul odor from the drain pan

We purchased a Sear Elite French Door Refrigerator/Freezer approx. 2-3 years ago. We started to experience a foul odor coming from the back of the unit. After doing some investigative research on the internet, it seems that the drip pan cannot be removed in order for it to be cleaned. There was a lot of stagnant water that filled the pan and caused it to overflow. How do you resolve this problem? I did chat with a representative from Sears, who told me to check the manual which I did. No were in the manual does it tell you that you can remove it. What kind of product is this? My model number is 795.71033.010.

Sears rust under interior rim of machine

I'm very concerned over a recent discovery of rust under the rim of my 3-yr old Kenmore Elite Washer, Model # 2927200, Serial # 103KWFN02035. My 1-yr warranty has expired however after researching the issue I've discovered this is a very prevalent problem and am hoping Sears will stand behind this product.

Sears false advertising

Sears advertised in the local phone book that they clean carpets by moving furniture, which is not true! Their website claims they have a $99 Spring Carpet Cleaning, also not true! They will only move furniture under 50 lbs., and charge separately for each room, even if it is one combination room. When I called for a price quote, they wanted my email as confirmation, which I refuse to give, telling them I did not agree to hire them! This way of doing business is fraudulent, so they need to be held liable for their actions.

Do not know where the people who commented got their information from, but neither the local phone book, nor the Sears Home Services Website stated there were restrictions of any kind! I called for an estimate, not to set up an appointment, as a possible alternative for my allergies. If I did not call Sears, I would not have known they had restrictions! It pays to be well-informed!

They do move furniture... Just not large stuff so that is not fraud... Wanted the email address is so they can send the estimate... The only ad I saw was for $105 may special and it has a list of restrictions INCLUDING "Not good in all areas", "Minimum order required" & that ends in "CALL FOR OTHER DETAILS"

Sears improper installation, failure to repair

I called Sears about a month ago to have them fix (a minor problem) vinyl siding they had previously installed. This was the second separate problem with the siding. I could have paid someone about $20 to fix it (and void the warranty) but I decided to have Sears do it as it was their product and their warranty. They said they could get to it April 23rd. Now (April 15th) the problem has grown significantly to include additional siding, a gable vent, and possible damage to a window, not to mention the lack of sleep from the siding banging against the window in the bedroom. The previous "minor" repair resulted in Sears having to replace the siding on one entire side of the house. I'm fed up with the lack of customer service from Sears.

Sears gas grill

My gas grill is two years old. It has so much rust and decay, it is rediculous. The whole floor of the grill has rotted away and broken apart. The burners have rotted and broken apart from each other. I always keep my grill covered with a sears grill cover. I owned a Charmglow gas grill before this, and it lasted 30 years! What a waste of money for my sears grill. I called Sears after the first year to complain. They told me that I should have brought the grill inside after each use. Really/? Who has a space to do that .
I will buy a weber grill next week.

I too have a Sears Grill model 148.[protected] Serial Number [protected] and it has been the biggest waste of money I've had in a long time. This grill immediately started giving me problems. The ignition system went intermittent after 3 months and has been flaky ever since. I have to use a lighter to get the grill going. The bottom of the grill has completely rusted out and is dangerous and if there's every any grease at all, it catches fire and shoots out the bottom and back of the grill. I bought Sears because I thought the quality would be outstanding as it has been in the past but that is not the case here. The best use for this grill is to drop it in a pond and give the fish a new home. I'd return this thing in a heartbeat if I could get my money back. This was a $300+ waste.

It will rust too. Unless you drop a couple grand into a really good quality stainless steel unit, it will rust if left outside. If you live in a humid climate even the garage won't do. It needs to be in a climate controlled environment. Sorry for the bad news!

Sears much false information

I bought a Nordic Track 7700 from Sears and he said it was the same exact model as Nordic Track sells and that I could buy it from Nordic Track. I know companies change the quality, motor, etc. when selling to lower quality stores (sears does not have quality merchandise for the most part). He assured me that it was the same exact machine as Nordic Track and that I could buy the 7700 directly from them. He said that the console would project to the TV screen (I'm short and can't see the console and want to do the google map routes and use the browser and be able to see it). He assured me that the browser and trail maps would all display on the TV screen so I could see them.He also told me that the ifit subscription was free with the machine I bought. I tried to pay for it and he said it was included with this machine. All of which was false. Nordic Track was very unhelpful and one person was rude and in so many words said it was my problem. If they are going to use Sears as an agent then it's their problem too.

Sears overheated oven

My 3 year old Kenmore electric range oven overheated twice in the past 3 days. Set at 350 than 10 minutes later the kitchen is full of smoke and oven is beeping and flashing F10 error code. The oven temp was over the 600 scale on an oven thermometer It would NOT shut off! Had to flip the breaker. I see very similar models are under a recall but Sears customer service said I am not covered and also no warranty.. Cost of new EOC electronic oven control $300 + This is a stand alone smooth topped electric range very similar to the elite version that is recalled. So why not a recall on this model. A very dangerous situation.

Sears electric range

Kenmore free standing electric range model #[protected] had a major oven overheating and would not shut off. An error message f10 indicated a runaway oven. The oven was set at 350 but in a few minutes the kitchen was filled with smoke and oven exremely hot. After shutting off the breaker the oven temperature on a oven thermometer showed over 500 off the scale of the thermometer.
No help from sears customer service centre as no longer under warranty (Bought in 2010) many many complaints about this dangerous problem and some recalls on very similar models but not this one! Rtd sensor (Temperature probe) checked out ok but the eoc electronic oven control has a large area of burned, blackened melted spots. Obviously needs to be replaced — parts not available for at least two weeks and $350. (Part only) this is ridiculously expensive for a dangerous faulty part the seems to causing serious problems for many consumer. I will be sending a complaint to the us cpsc and canada's health and safety commission. As well as email sears customer service centre. Hope it works and prevents a dangerous situation for other consumers.

Sears rust

I purchase all of my appliances from Sears and have never had a problem, before. I'm currently re-modeling my home and not too sure if I'll continue to purchase from here for the following reason. I recently bought a Sears Kenmore Elite Washer AND Dryer (a little over a year ago) and my washer is already rusting around the bleach dispenser. It's not due to bleach leaking/spilling over (I hardly ever even use bleach) and the top is always left open! This is ridiculous being that my previous washer was over 10 years old (from Sears) and never rusted. This Sears Kenmore Elite Washer was extremely expensive, top of the line; however, I'm not too sure about that. If this is already rusting, how long or short should I say, is this appliance going to last?
I've tried contacting Sears only to be offered to pay for a service plan?!?!?! I don't know anymore - I used to LOVE sears, but this is making me sick to my stomach of how much money is going to go down the drain.

These are copies of the email correspondence to sears. We have had no contact from sears and have no resolution,

No idea). I responded to his email with the information he requested. The next
Day, checking my email, there was an email from him in my email requesting the
Same information, which I again responded too. That afternoon I then called

I am writing to update the

On february 11th we returned a signed form to mr. Lutz and were assured that we

Might expect the check and have yet to get a response to that email as well. I
Have attached the signed form to this email for your records. We would like to
See this resolved as soon as possible because this has been going on far longer
Than necessary.

Mr Patrick Lutz has placed an air conditioning unit in my moms home that does not work properly. My mom has been staying in a hotel for 4 days and paying a bill since he cannot find anyone to install the correct air conditioning unit in the home. When we asked him about this he started we are backed up right now and that at least she has air. What do you mean the house is cool for 2 hours then she has too pack up and go to a hotel in order to stay cool and she has high blood pressure . when asked what they are going to do about the hotel bill. he stated well I don't think we can do anything. We it is not her fault you cannot find anyone to put in the correct air unit and she has to pay this type of money signal retired 85 year old lady to keep cool really. He told me he would have a date for me and did not call me back like he stated. you think this is good customer service. Really I should think not! MY mom has ALREADY SPENT 500.00 SO FAR ON A HOTEL AND THEN HE STATES HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HE CAN DO. This is not acceptable. I need some to call me as soon as possible to get this resolved. june 20o15

Sears faulty mattress, terrible return policy!

In November 2013, my parents purchased a bed from Sears at Burnaby's Brentwood Mall. They had bought the bed, which was found to have defects, plus it turned out it was not the actual bed they had paid for! They were told an exchange could be made.
Until now, March 8 2014, they still do not have their new, fully paid-for bed. It has been one thing after another, with many promises of phone calls that never happened and failed deliveries, that my mom has come to the point of tears, and my father, utter frustration. The details of what they have had to deal with would take several pages.
At this moment, they are waiting for yet another phone call, to have their bed delivered by what Sears is calling a " third party " delivery company.
It's so ridiculous. It's a mattress set. It should not be a traumatizing event!

Sears mattress warrenty

I bought a mattress from Sears Jan 2009. a king size. for $1400.
In 2012 had a representative for the warranty's department come to my home to evaluate the condition of it. It looked like a waves! The fellow representing SEARS agreed the mattress needed to be replaced and as such told the warranty dept and sent his report complete with photos. I asked this man (SEARS rep) if they wanted the old mattress back. He replied NO!
A week later I received a call from the warranty dept. they stated that I was entitled to a FULL refund. $1400. I asked if they would give me a credit on my account and I would purchase a mattress at a later date. They said they couldn't do that but would allow me 1 year to do so... I
I bought a new mattress ON LINE (the store didn't have a very good selection) and in the mean time I DONATED my old mattress to charity.
The new mattress cost me $1800. Bought with in the 1 year time frame and I waited to get my Credit for the old mattress. When it didn't appear on the first bill I contacted the warranty dept. and asked if they needed me to fax the statement to them.
Now they say to me that they can't credit my account until they receive my old mattress!
I explain to them that the fellow who came out to my home said that I didn't need to return the old mattress and that I had donated it.
They said TOO BAD!
During my 3 separate conversations with the actual warranty dept. The return of my old mattress was NEVER MENTIONED!
So rather than be stuck with this new mattress bill for $1800 +++tax and interest at 21% 10 days after I bought it I tried to return it!
NO WAYYYYYY they would not take the mattress back because I didn't buy a mattress cover at the time of the purchase. WHAT? This particular mattress comes complete with it's own mattress cover zippered on!
I have tried every avenue to resolve this issue to no avail.
SEARS is DEAD to me !
This has caused me so much stress I can't begin to tell you!
Thanks for listening and Good Luck to all who buy from this c****y retailer! They can't go under fast enough for me. I have cast my cares unto the LORD. No man shall prosper that comes against me.!

Sears deceptive retail pricing

The Sears store in the Aiken mall is being closed. They have a huge "store closing sale" going on. There's usually two teenage guys out on the main street with signs that say, "Store Closing-30% off". In the first place this is way low for a store that's closing. There's other stores in the mall with signs all over that say 40-50% off, and they are not closing. Sears is trying to pull a fast one so be careful. I had my eye on a specific style shirt before Xmas that was on sale for $19.99. Usual price $30. I decided to wait thinking they would be reduced after Xmas, and sure enough I saw them in Jan. for $12.99. I had just heard they were closing soon so thought if I waited they would be marked down even less. I checked them yesterday and they had taken all the sales tags off and left the $30 original price tag on, with a 40% off sign over them. That makes them $12 off and the price $18 ! They must really think people are stupid(yeh, I know some are). I have never been a fan of Sears as their prices are usually too high, and this proves they use very deceptive retail practices. Be careful on their going out of business sales. Personally will not miss them.

redhatterb71 is right, once the store goes into liquidation it is no longer managed by the corporate management chain. Instead, a liquidation company takes over and is responsible for selling all the merchandise and items in the building, and all the pricing is done by them, not the original company.

Liquidation sales are not always great deals until they get down to the 50% or lower range. It isn't just Sears, that is how companies do it. They make people think they are getting an amazing deal at 10% off, when they could've probably got the same item for 30-40% off before on a regular weekly sale.

Sears partially cancelled order

I ordered a dewalt impact wrench with Li-Ion batteries ($395 for international orders). Since I was already paying for shipping, I ordered a torx bit set ($11.xx) and a broken Craftsman deep socket (14mm, $2.75) to complete my tool set. They cancelled the Dewalt because of the Hazmat regulation, which they should have already known, yet ship to Borderfree, the logistics company they work with to fulfill international orders. As soon as I received the e-mail, I replied it that if they are going to ship the rest, not to do so because I do not want to pay twenty something $ for items that cost $14. It would have cost much less locally. They replied back that They shipped some, they will ship the dewalt too. I again replied that I received an e-mail indicating the cancellation of it, and they should cancel the other items as well. They said they could not because it is an automated system. To add insult to injury, they suggested that I refuse the package but the shipping cost would not be reimbursed. International buyer beware! They have a dumb system they call "automated" which cannot understand the order is a whole and cannot be partially cancelled without the consent of the buyer. Then they expect you to pay for your their mistakes. The right of customers are limited within the borders of the USA too. They will just answer you with utter nonsense. To prevent copy/paste answers, I will give my order number but do not expect any resolution on their part. International Order # [protected].
