Simmons Bedding My mattress is sinking

I bought a Simmons Mattress from Mr mattress in Greenville SC on June 2008. Paid app. $ 1600.00. It has started sinking by 2 1/2 inches. I contacted the store. They came out & agreed the mattress was bad. They stated it had a 4" diameter stain barely noticeable & for that reason they would not make the mattress good. That stain has nothing to do with the mattress sinking. The stain is app 2'-0" from the sink holes in my mattress. I would like for the manufacture & mr mattress give me some type of allowance or replace the mattress. It is clear the mattress is defected.

Simmons Bedding Back pain

My warranty claim was just denied by Simmons. They sent a technician to the house and put a string from corner to corner of the mattress. That string show substantial sagging of over 1.5 inches in just one year. They did not test the integrity of the mattress. I have areas now that offer no support whatsoever and a more significant test would be to place 50-lb weight at different spots of the mattress and see how far it sags. Here is the official reply:

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you. Simmons offers a limited warranty and strives to be as fair as possible when evaluating warranty claims. In assessing your claim, we found no structural failure in either the mattress or box springs/foundation.

In addition, the compaction of the panels in this style of bedding is to be expected. The compression does not affect the product's durability. As with other beds of this type, the thicker and more luxurious the filling materials, the more susceptible they are to compaction. Please note that this should not be considered a defect. The mattress is contouring to the shape of your body.

As a result of these findings, we are unable to offer a replacement because the product is performing normally. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to assist you.

Sincerely,
Simmons Corporate Warranty Department
Claim # 000494267D

I strongly disagree that a premium mattress is designed to contour to my body. Rather, it is supposed to support my body. $1200 for a queen mattress and the money is down the drain completely. Both of us have back pain now. Simmons is a major disappointment.

We purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Refresh king mattress at Godwin's in Midland, MI in June 2015. It has a hollow vertically where each my husband and I sleep. I called the store a year ago. They sent us a a string with a fishing sinker at each end, telling us that when the sag was greater than 1.5 inches it would be under warranty. That was a year ago. The sag is just less than 1.5 inch! The pillow top is flat. The warranty is useless! To compensate I have laid soft baby blankets in the hollows, topped our pillow top mattress with a three inch topper!
Needless to say, we will never buy another Simmons Beautyrest, nor recommend their product.

Simmons Bedding Lousy mattress

Bought a Simmoms King Size mattress in 2007 (manufactured in 2006) from AARON's and it has collapsed in the sleeping areas. The model number is M14750.60.7300. This mattress has caused both of us to seek back pain medical relief. This was a very expensive retail mattress. It has a foam top layer that will not return to its non-weight position. It has a created a large center hump running from top to bottom. We tried putting a pillow top mattress protector on it, an that has not helped either. The manufacturer needs to fix or replace, but no action from them. I would not recommend anyone buying any mattress from Aaron’s or Simmons. Lousy, lousy product and support.

What a lot of people do not tell you when they complain about a failed mattress is that they are the direct cause of the mattress failing. What I am saying is that people over 250 pounds are going to have issues with getting a mattress to hold up. My wife was at 300 prior to weight loss surgery and I told her until she lost at least 100 pounds it would not make any spence for us to purchase a new bed. It failed only on her side of the bed.. So that right there told me it was not simply a matter of the mattress failing but failing under a weight for what they are NOT designed for. Most of today's furniture whether it be a lawn chair, sofa, lounger, or a mattress IS GOING TO FAIL under those circumstances.. So when someone gives a bad review of something always keep that in your thoughts..
We had the same issue with our living room furniture as well. Unless you spend a lot of money on living room set that is hard wood and not the modern stuff they sell in all the stores it will come apart or break with excessive weight.

Simmons Bedding Didn't honor warranty

Simmons Mattress Co. did not and will not honor the warranty for a BeautyRest California King mattress and box springs that cost over $2900.00 that was purchased through mattress warehouse. Mattress had body impressions on both sides of mattress and the inspection people from mattress wharehouse checked only one side said a box spring was upside down (was only for week), second time inspected said dirt was on mattress (brushed off easy)they said it had stains (Untrue) Mattress Warehouse along with Simmons found whatever reason to say the warranty was void. In my opinion Simmons Mattress Co. is the worst mattress I've ever owned and will never get a dime more from me. Also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint which did not help assist at all.

Simmons Bedding Mattress guarantee not upheld

I purchased my King-sized Simmons Beaty Rest mattress only 2 1/2 years ago. Nearly a year ago, I had to have someone come out from the fruniture store where I purchased the set and check the mattress for sagging. I was told it couldn't be replaced even though it was saggin in the middle.because my husband had sweat and caused a stain on his side of the bed. I have since tried to just keep the mattress, but the sagging is now intolerable and the mattress is only 2 1/2 years old. Why does it matter if there is a slight stain on the mattress-is it guaranteed against sagging or not?

If they believe that the sagging was a result of damage you performed to the mattress, such as improper use or improper maintenance, then it is not a manufacture defect and not covered by the warranty.

My question is how does one sweat so much that through proper use, i.e. your not jumping on the bed and using sheets, does one cause a stain in such a small amount of time?

Simmons Bedding Sagging mattress, horrible custoemr service

I bought a queen beautyrest on 9/28/07 for almost $1700 including a new simmons box spring and waterproof protector. The mattress started sagging around summer 2010. I contacted simmons on 1/17 and they scheduled an inspector to could out to look at the mattress. The inspector used a weighted string placed across the mattress with a ruler to measure the depression in the mattress. However, the inspector's tactics were very underhanded. He pressed down on the mattress but before he took the photos he talked to me about the acceptable numbers that simmons needs to see before they will consider the mattress defective. Then when he was done talking he took his pictures. Looking back on it now I cannot believe I did not catch this trick at the time. By the time he took the photos the depression number was at 1 3/8 inches, this is what he wrote in his report. Coincidentally simmons requires a minimum of 1.5 inches. So my mattress was off by 1/8 of an inch. If he had taken the picture without talking to me it would have easily ready 2.5 inches. After this I received a letter in the mail saying the claim was denied and the level of depression that we had was considered normal wear and tear BULL$*&$. I sent 4 emails to [protected]@simmons.com requesting the contact information for a supervisor or manager with the warranty department, I never received a response. Today I called them and the customer service woman that I talked would not give me any contact information for a supervisor, she said I could leave a message and she would make sure it gets to the supervisor... yea right, I'm sure, just like my emails were replied to. Then she said that my warranty claim had already been denied and I could open a new claim again in 90 days but "I would just be wasting my time because that one would be denied too" ... those were her exact words. What a despicable company with despicable customer service reps. I am going to invest in a memory foam mattress as soon as I can afford one. I am also going to cut the pillow top off the simmons mattress and take video of what I am sure will be defective coil springs (which is the case with the majority of beautyrest complaints) and I will then post this video online. I have already submitted 2 BBB complaints and I am going to spend as much time as I can getting the word about about this garbage company and their products. I already told my story to 2 women at a sears department this past weekend and steered them away from buying a simmons mattress (they bought a stearns and foster instead). At least I know that by word of mouth I can get some level of satisfaction by informing others about this company, their horrible products and awful customer service. Simmons is now merging with sealy after filing for bankruptcy protection so beware of sealy mattresses having this same problem also in the future.

My local furniture has worked with me to upgrade my mattresses, yes I am now on my third Simmons, which is all they stock. First model under a thousand did not work out. Second 1, 200 and the foam shifted, although it was never off the bed I was told it had been stored on it's side. I then was able to spot clean a stain bigger than a 50 cent piece and Feb. 10. 17 bought and 1, 800 dollar model, extra firm. It was delivered Feb. 21. Today Feb. 27 I have asked for an inspection because it seems to sag in the middle during romance. It took a week for the sag to develop.

Simmons Bedding Defective mattress

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest king mattress. We have called several many times over the past 2 yrs and they will not do anything about there mattress we purchased from Appels in Brookings oregon and paid alot of money . We in fact keep getting the run around and they give us numbers that are not in service or a number in a diffferent state and the manufacture keeps informing us that we have to go back to the store we purchased it at. They are now in fact going out of business after we have went into the store many times trying to get this ataken care of ..so we are trying to see if you can help us exchange this for a different mattress, it has a 10 yr. warrenty, and alot of good that does us now.. thank you Traci Rangel

Simmons Bedding Sagging and chemical odor!

My mattress nightmare started 6 years ago! And to no avail have I had any luck. Im grasping for straws here to find out where to get someone honest on the phone from simmmons beautyrest to do there job as a "quality" company who sets "high standards of business conduct with honesty and ethics" ha ha hahahahahahaha! (right from there website of course) besides the sagging issue weve endured over the years,... We also have a high chemical odor issue. It smells so bad of chemicals that I have to encase my mattresses in matress bags with a mattress pad on top of that and 2 blankets over that then my sheet. We cannot sleep otherwise bc the chemical odor is so bad. I had a service rep come to the house and they actually went to great lengths to tell me it must be body odors or home odors absorbed into the mattress and that my son must have had accidients on his bc he is so young.! After the rep had to smell my mattresses he actually admitted it was a chemical odor but it ws a normal chemical odor and that my nose must be too sensitive! Hmmm, so the high chemical content that they put into out mattresses is normal! Do you know that the newest regulations make it okay for these ppl to put 27 times more rat poison in our mattresses than our bodies can handle each night? One rep told me that simmons came out with a new greener and safer mattress. But of course im getting no help with either the sagging or odor! I even tried calling all the news stations and have never gotten a call back! They are hiding something!
Oh, and apparently im the only person they know of that has had any complaints with a simmons mattress! Im so glad I found this website! Doesnt make me feel like im crazy anymore!

Simmons beautyrest is the WORST company to deal with. Ive had problems with sagging, has had our mattress exchanged 3 times and still the same body immpressions with in a month were left in the bed! Now ive noticed an odor, its so bad like chemicals, Ive been on the phone with these bozos and getting nowhere! They say Its the odors in my house! Huh? what? In fact, one salesman had the audacity to tell me it must be because my son was so young. Yeah, he was trying to say my son peed the bed and therefore it stinks! Hmmm, ...well we have mattress cover to protect that problem and I surely dont pee my bed!
Our mattresses were purchased at the same time. The amount of chemicals they pour into our mattresses is enought to kill a horse, but hey, at least they wont start on fire right!?!
Ive had endless conversations with the store, manufacturer, sales you name it. Our prior matteress we had for 14 years without a problem, and now weve had nothing but problems for 5 years! The mattress tech actually told me it WAS a chemical smell and that MY nose must be too sensitive! The report claimed "No UNUSUAL odor!"
Hmmm, No UNUSUAL CHEMICAL ODOR ENOUGH TO KILL A HORSE! that we breathe in as we sleep, and your body obsorbs it, arsenic, 27 more times the limit a body can absorb safely!? at one point one of the sales techs acually admitted that simmons has made a new mattress that goes Above and beyond those chemicals to prove to be MORE GREEN and MORE SAFE!

We have a Simmons Beautyrest bought in 2013 with an awful chemical smell as well. It's my daughter's bed so I never sleep on it but the one time I watched tv with her in her room I could smell it, wasn't sure what it was but she couldn't from being so used to it I guess but she has been having migraines since then but I never thought it could be from this until I borrowed her blanket a few nights ago. Her migraine pain has been recorded in her file at our doctor's office and at the hospital. I am one very angry mother right now as she has suffered and missed a lot of school. I am definitely going to push this until it is rectified. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Please email me at michtin74@gmail.com

I had that same problem with Sealy with the chemical (foam/plastic/terpetine smell, the same way a new car has a smell, or this suitcase I bought at Winners, which is bad for your health) and was just about to buy the Simmons Extra Firm to alleviate that problem. The first Sealy sagged even before I got into it for the first time, even with the box spring. The second one, which is a brand new release of the same model and is definitely better, except it had a huge rip in the same on the bottom, AND it still sags, but much less that the other one. Tight top does not equal firm. Even thought it is not a Euro top, it has a cushiony feel, which would be fine if not for the sunken middle. Thank you for posting this. Companies will do anything to keep your money, so make sure that your bed had that middle leg and that you are using a box spring. They have a problem even if you said it was on the floor. They may not exchange it otherwise.

We Bought a Simmons Beautyrest Greektown Euro top queen mattress in 2010 and I noticed a bad chemical odor in our bedroom and I could not pinpoint where that smell was coming from until I put my nose right on the mattress, it is so bad that I feel like gagging, I wanted to post on here before I call the store where we bought the mattress from. If anyone can help me with suggestions on how to resolve this with either the store where we bought it or contacting the company directly I would appreciate it, you can email me at s1127452011@live.com

Our fiasco started in '06 when we bought 2 high quality Simmons mattresses. One for us and the other for our youngest son and his wife. Within no time both of these began sagging in the middle and you couldn't sleep w/o rolling toward the middle which when fought all night long made for a terrible nights rest and backaches. We were able to get the first 2 exchanged and we even upgraded out of our own pockets (mistake). Immediately these next 2 began the exact same thing. We moved away from the area and where we moved there weren't any stores so we went through the factory. We fulfilled every obligation from a warranty standpoint but were denied as they said the mattress is "continuing to shape to our bodies". This may make sense if the problem area was near the edges of the mattress but it's right in the middle. Since '04 we've purchased close to 10K dollars worth of Simmons products. The first few we bought have held up but I will not purchase another one as now we're close to 4000$ in the hole and an air mattress from the local discount store is more comfortable than these pieces of trash. I would bet there are thousands of examples like this but most people just don't want to take the time to mess with it. NO MORE SIMMONS for the ZIMMERMAN's!

We thought we were buying a quality mattress (Beautyrest World Class) but after 3 years we have two trenches where we lay. It is the type of mattress that cannot be turned over. We remodeled our house 2 years ago and I lost the paperwork on the mattress so we cannot even contact them for warranty. But as the two postings above, I am sure we would get the same run around as they did.
We will NEVER buy another Beautyrest mattress. This brand is all hype. Maybe they used to produce a good mattress years ago but not anymore!

Simmons Bedding Lying manager, no furniture nor a refund

This Company is a rip off. I really don't know why the law is allowing them to stay in business with so many complaints. I brought (paid for) furniture from them about two and a half weeks ago. I paid them $100.00 to hold the furniture in the store..I called them one week later and told them I will be in in one more week. I asked the guy if they could hold the furniture until then, he said "sure, no problem". Exactly one week later my wife went in and paid in full for the furniture about $1, 400.00. After she paid them, the salesman then told her they had to order the furniture and it would be in in a week. She called me livid. I called the store and was told they could not hold furniture and the furniture would be in in one week. Well, its been two almost three weeks and no furniture. Somehow, someone must do something about this company...I think Channel 9 news, channel 2 news, channel 4 news and any other news agency need to be notified. How can a company continue to rip off consumers and get away with it. The person I talked with name is Chris (at least that is what he said his name was). We need to bombard the BBB with calls and letters about them and the State Attorney's Office. I personnally will be visiting the BBB and the State Attorney's Office tomorrow 3/16/10 with my complaint and charges of fraud against the person who took my money and did not give my wife what we paid for.

Richard

The layaway policies posted all over the counter and clearly stated on the receipts clearly state that the deposit on a layaway locks in the current price it does not hold the merchandise in the store until it is paid for at which time we can hold it as long as you need. It would be phisically impossible to hold every peice of furniture on every layaway in the store. Furthermore we are the only furniture company that promises same day delivery and does everything in our power to stick to that promise. I challenge anyone to got to any other store and get the quality and price that you do through us along with reasonably priced same day delivery on all in stock items.

Same thing happening with my husband and me. Paid for Simmons leather sectional and they loaded up one and after getting it home it was not the one we had special ordered. Now it is sitting in plastic in my livingroom and they said they had to reorder the correct one. Well two weeks later and we keep getting the run around with them saying that it is on the next truck, well 2 trucks later and still no sectional and they still haven't picked up the wrong one. At this point I just want a refund. I would never go to this furniture store again. Lonnie is the one who told us that he called the home office and they would have our correct furniture on the very next truck. I believe they are just leading us around now and we have NO furniture and NO money...this place totally sucks and I will be contacting the BBB and Atty General, consumers should not have to put up with this type of Devious business., ...

Simmons Bedding Poor quality product/warranty

I had purchased a mattress set from Value City Furniture for $1700.00 with a stain guard protection. In less than one year, the mattress developed a sinkhole in the center (my husband and I are average weight, 150 and 190 pounds); I returned the mattress and got a replacement of the exact same kind of mattress. In less than a year, this mattress did the same thing. I did not report it as quickly because it was hard to get someone to return the mattress; when I tried to get it replaced Value City Furniture refused to replace it because the mattress had a "stain" on it, which had absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the mattress. They voided the warranty even though I paid extra for the stain guard. I turned them in to the Better Business Bureau but it did not help. I will show anyone the pictures of the mattress if they want to see them; I do not want anyone to get duped like I did.

Yuo should check to see if the mattress cover had a stainguard guarantee. The waterproof covers normally are sold as insurance for the mattress. if you got a stain on the mattress, try calling the mattress cover company. We sell waterproof pads @ our establishment, and if a stain penetrates the cover and stains the mattress, they'll try to get the stain out... and if it doesnt come out, they'll give you a replacement for a new one.

Simmons Bedding Defective mattress

Aug. 2005 I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Mattress for $1700.00 from a Mattress Giant . I purchased a new arrival floor model for a substancial price reduction. When purchased I inquired on the 10 yr. warranty and was advised the warranty was valid. The first 3 years the mattress was fine. After that we noticed how it was sagging where we slept. As time went on the sagging was more visable to the eye and the middle of the mattress was protruding making for a bad night of rest. I contacted Mattress Giant and they showed no interest in helping. When I filed a warranty claim I was notified that the mattress did not ever have a warranty because it was a floor model and the invoice was marked "sold as is"? And indeed in small print the invoice says just that. Who does business like that? So, we are currently sleeping on a very expensive defective mattress. I have learned a lesson. I will never purchase from anyone in the future without doing more research first. And will most certainly read the fine print! I will never buy from Mattress Giant they are not a reliable company and I hope this posting will help buyers aware of there unfair business practice. They certainly do not stand behind there product. I contact Simmons and the door is still open on that.

Simmons Bedding Money taken...

Poor customer service….. They take your money when your purchase don't go through, you lose that money, a never get an explanation. And you get the run around with customer service, and so forth. My phone has not worked right since that call. And it just has to be some type of explanation.

When you do not receive what you are trying to purchase and your card is scanned, the money is taken off your card; you never get that money back. That money is taken from you, and you get the run around. They also locked my phones contacts. I am not totally without fault. I did say something out of anger, because it was not fair for them to take my money, $7.11. I got hung up on when I asked for the manager, and didn’t want to talk to the respective anymore. The manager said she didn't see where it was returned, but I had already been told that it was there. They were going to send the form to fill out to get my money put back on my card. That never happed.

My mother died in September 2018. She has a rush card with a balance. I can never get anyone on the phone and when I finally did, the person was so stupid and kept saying I need probate papers. I don't need a (*&^%) probate paper if there is nothing to probate. I've sent this company "Power of Attorney, Death Certificate, ID's for both myself and my mother, a copy of the rush card, Social Security numbers. These people and this company are a joke. I guess I'll have to take this to social media, news papers or whatever it takes just to get my mothers $300 dollars. My Name is Gwendolyn James and I'm pissed. I'M SURE RUSSELL SIMMONS WILL NEVER SEE THIS!

Simmons Bedding Unfair company

I purchased this bed from HSN. Less than 6 months later it started to develop a divot. This hole is HUGE. I contacted HSN and they said it was too late for them to refund it so I needed to contact Simmons. I did and they informed me that I would 1. have to take a series of pictures and send these in with a letter 2. pay for shipping BOTH ways for the defective mattress 3. wait several weeks for a replacement. Now what am I supposed to do without a bed for a month or longer? This is the most expensive bed I have ever bought and by far the worst. Since I cannot afford the shipping fees or to be without a bed I have to suffer now. I even turned the bed now a nice indent is developing on the other side too. What an unfair company!

Simmons Bedding Sagging mattress

The Simmons Palm Cove Queen mattress I received on 11-15-09 is sagging on both sides; I have rotated the mattress as instructed; I am the only sleeper, weigh only 125 pounds. When I rotate it the sagging sides are no longer returning to a firm surface. I paid $840 for this mattress and am very dissatisfied with the fact that it is no longer viable. Wake with back ache from no support. What recourse do I have?

Simmons Bedding Fraud

I set up an appointment for today, November 5th 2009 at the Big Flats Simmons-Rockwell dealership for my 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ.

After waiting for an hour, the service rep came in and told me they couldn't perform my service because it was a Chevrolet. What they meant to say was that they wasted my time because they didn't want to do warranty work that they wouldn't make money off of!

I asked if they could refer me to where I could get this service done and they never returned or gave me any contacts so I left.

This is typical of this dealership's professionalism over the last several years. The best store to deal with in this group was the former Subaru store in Sayre, Pa. The former general manager, Mike Correll was very professional to deal with when I had a concern with a car that I purchased. He helped us withthe process of getting our vehicle to the Subaru service department and did a follow up phone call personally to ensure we were happy with the outcome. You will not get that type of service from any of the other stores in the company. I referred many customers to Mike and all became repeat buyers with him. Too bad he is no longer with the company; he actually cared about you buying a car and staying a loyal customer. This is what a professional dealership should be exhibiting; not the kind of [censor]s that they have working there now! My advice to you is shop elsewhere...

Simmons Bedding Caving in no support

Just bought this mattress 7/30/09 and the first night the bed caves in where you lye. No support what so ever and lumpy. We were never given a copy of the warranty. We were told by the sales person we have no problem with exchanging this product for any reason. Our backs hurt so bad to where our bodies hurt every morning since buying this $1, 565.01 mattress. You figure for this amount you feel like your sleeping on a cloud. More like rocks. Ortho Mattress people sent out a tech to investigate the mattress and found a 1-1/8 compression on the left and 3/8 on the right and also said the foam was collasped. The company Ortho Mattress denied our replacement and said Simmons will not replace your mattres because it is not over 1 1/2 inches. It is brand new it should not have had any dents or lumps right off the back. I will be taking pictures and speaking with a legal advisor.
