Costco - warranty on battery

My neighbor purchased a battery for my car for me at a time when I could not drive the car to purchase it myself. He had a Costco card, which he used. I have also had a Costco card for the last 22 years. A cell went dead in that battery two nights ago. AAA said I needed to replace the battery immediately. I drove directly to Costco and was ready to have...

Costco no cust. service

My 81 year old mother has been a loyal Costco customer for many years. She bragged about the superior service at the Henderson -Marks (las vegas)Nevada location. She had not been there in almost a year and wanted to take me there. Several days ago I agreed to accompany her.

We completed our shopping and waited for the clerk to ring up our items. I didn't notice the majority of the staff was almost entirely Latino until later. The clerk told my mother she was moving too slow to pay her. She stated other people were waiting. I was very offended since my mother was trying to move as fast as she could and started trembling. The clerk next to her said "..you know how they are". (we are African-American) I wanted to make a nasty retort but reframed out of respect to my mother.

We were followed to the Exit door by a scowling female. At the exit door the clerk look at the scowling female and back at us. She became very aggressive and agitated. " Where is your receipt!" You can't leave the store without your receipt! The other customers began to stare at us. I said "my mother is trying to give it to you but now I want to see a manager!"

The manager came and we stated what occured. My mother told him she had never been treated so badly at a Costco store. The manager who was also Latino was patronizing and treated us like we were the instigators. My mother was very upset and shaken by the entire incident and had to take additional insulin to bring her system back to normal. Shame on the COSTCO Marks location in Henderson Nevada. La Raza is alive and well at Costco!

Costco warehouse pricing is always the rave. Anyone you talk to will swear by it; the best value for your money (most items, if you're not looking to compare in-store brands). Now, if only their staff, especially those at the check out counters were to offer you the best service for your membership money, it'll be perfect.

Costco sell things in bulk, hence they are either heavy or bulky. Yet they forget that not everyone's pantry or freezer is a short walk from the garage or the driveway. Costco personnel have, time and time again, been unable to provide bags (or boxes) for your purchases. Check out personnel conveniently pile unbagged/unboxed merchandise in carts. Too lazy to find boxes? YES! Compared to regular supermarkets, I find these individuals lacking in courtesy and right out customer service manners one expects from this so called "members only" store.

Carlos, I don't think you've ever worked retail before. Elderly people are the WORST when it comes to being respectful. They think because they are elders they don't have to be respectful to younger people. I worked the door at Costco once and asked an older lady for her membership "Do you have a membership, ma'am?". Her response after stopping and swinging around rudely, with a distinct arrogance in her voice "I'm just looking around to see if I want a membership at Costco or BJ's. I need a membership to just look around?" Thing is, this lady had been through my line before, and dropped the same "Fine, I'll just stop at BJ's [censor]." When I told her that the membership desk might give her a day pass, but that you do need a membership to shop as Costco is a warehouse club. She stormed off muttering that I has "some nerve."

Stop being lazy. If you can't carry something without it being in a box, maybe you shouldn't shop at Costco.

Sorry to hear that. I wasn't there so I can't comment on this. But if what you said was true about the cashier, then he needs to get pulled to the office and have a chat. Again, I wasn't there, so I don't know. You or your mother might have done something to trigger it? I don't know. But that kind of behavior is still not allow at Costco. I don't know if I believe your story about the door person. I think you were upset about the checkout experience and started to think everyone was trying to push you around or whatever. Please send a complaint to the corporate office, that will be the most effective way to fix problems like this.

I was debating the idea of joining Costco, there is one in my city, but after reading this story, I think I will keep going to the local supermarket. Anyone showing an elderly person disrespect, should be FIRED on the spot. If I was your mother, I would NEVER step foot back in that business again.

Costco bad rude cashier

I had a bad experience at your store Tuesday July 28 2009 8:25pm, Lincoln Park location (2746 N Clybourn ave 60614 WHS #380). Involving:

register 8 cashier Stephanie (rude, unprofessional, loud, insulting)
cashier at register 7 (bad attitude)

I stood in line at register 7 for 5 minutes. When it was my turn to be helped the cashier told me she was closed (She should have told me that 5 minutes ago). Then she proceeded to get loud and say, her closed sign was up, no, no, no I'm closed (I didn't see her closed sign).

Register 8 had just opened so I asked both cashiers which one will help me? That's when both cashiers started arguing with each other. Register 7 started yelling at Stephanie saying she was closed. Stephanie started yelling back at cashier 7 saying, she had a long line of other people she was going to check out.

That's when I asked Stephanie to check me out because I had already been waiting. Then Stephanie started yelling at me, telling me to get at the end of the line. That's when I said to Stephanie, "I'll just leave". Then Stephanie told me, I was crazy (she said that loud enough for everyone to hear--I felt publicly humiliated).

If you are wondering why members are not renewing their memberships this is a prime example. Your cashiers rather argue and insult customers than assist them.

Cashier 7 and Stephanie on register 8 saved me about $500 dollars.
$50 to renew my membership
$50 in groceries
$400 new tires I was going to purchase the next day.

I am confident your competitors will appreciate my business.

I have/had seen most of the complaints written here. and totally agreed with the Asian woman customers. The costco stores have near my place have demonstrated the full racial profiling in treating their customers, especially asian/color customers. Humiliating and insulting like they don't serve to shop in Costco...

Something very uncomfortable to me at the Costco near my area. Even worse, about two ladies who prepared samples for customers sampling were so mean, completely ignored my friend and my questions, but very warmhearted to my friend's husband, who is Caucasian, btw, we are Asians.

I always wait a few minutes before telling a customer that I'm closed. Just pretend not to notice. Honestly stores should have lessons; lights on, no closed sign up and I am standing doing nothing... customer "are you opened?'. However lights off and signs up, and they put their groceries down...

After reading the complaint and the other posts that followed, I have this to say. The cashier should never have called them crazy under any circumstances. Which would be subject to disciplinary action. However, I don't believe that any employee of any Costco would do so without some provocation on the customer's (member's) part. Sounds like some of the altercation was purposely omitted.

Also, it is not the cashier's fault they did not see the sign, which is usually placed at the end of the conveyor belt on the end of the register and in very large Red letters (6 inches +). If they had been standing for 5 minutes, it would have been hard not to notice. As we can see they are in their own world and are inconsiderate of others.

If register 8 had just been opened, they are obligated to take the next person/and or people in line, who also had been previously waiting. It would have been considerate and understanding on the customer's part to admit they had not seen the sign and gone to the back of the line. These cashiers wait on a great number of customers and are entitled to go home to see their families or take a break when scheduled. If the complaintant is employed somewhere, I'm sure they would not appreciate someone showing up 5 min after they closed and were walking out to their car to go home a customer was insistent that they go back inside to wait on them.

P.S. The complainant who had indeed had admittedly and expired membership probably only saved $0.00, Tires and food probably cost more somewhere else, whereas comes the cost of the membership. They did save something though, they saved Costco the time and effort of dealing with a rude and narcissistic member.

Sounds like they had a bad day and I think you had the obligation to report them to the manager on duty. I love my local Costco in Puerto Vallarta and Beaverton OR. The last time I was there they let me slip in 15 min after closing to grab one item. I thought that was really thoughtful and understanding.

Costco not honoring warranty

Buying a pair of prescription sunglasses at the Costco optical at the end of July 2008, the first week of July 2009 the ear arm snapped, not from over abuse, not from twisting of any other abuse, just snapped right were the screws attached the arm. I had the glasses 11 months so I'll take them back to the Puyallup Costco were I had purchased them. When I brought them in and showed them to a optical sales clerk, the first thing she said is we don't carry parts, but would recommend a place to take them to get the part replaced at my cost, I said they were still under warrenty. she looked up my purchase date and sure enough it had only been 11 months, she then said that it not a defect because we haven't had any others like that and that I could purchase a new frame. At this time I was getting a litte frustrated with her and said you mean a 12 month warrenty is only good for 11 months, and please do show me were my glasses have been abused. She then said, let me take to my manager, she went over and they chatted in secret a little, and came back saying sorry we can't do anything for you but sell you a new frame. I said thanks for your GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and I don't have to worry about renewing my membership and said I'll be talking to Jesse from King 5 news here in Seattle. No Further, but I'm not done. I will get that $4.00 part replaced one way or another

July 2013. Trying to return sunglasses at Costco optical is very difficult.
They intentionally ignore people, haggle and argue about their products. Don't expect an experience anything like the regular return desk. I was refunded... but only after waiting for an hour... dealing with multiple employees and finally asking for documentation of their reasoning.
The whole experience made me feel like they channeled Walmart just for me. They absolutely should not handle returns anywhere near the optical dept.

I just purchased a pair of eyeglasses in February of 2013. When I picked up my glasses and the clerk adjusted the arms she bent the arms so far back and they were a plastic lense. I believe it put stress on the arms and I folded my glasses last night they both fell off. I called and they said that I would have to replace the frame. I agree Costco should make the customer aware of no warrenty. But I also think it is the fault of the clerk whom adjusted my glasses iniatially. The manager was not very much help. Extremely disapointed. Since I am only working part time I have no recourse but to return there to order replacement frames.

Similar situation happened to me. I tried talking to the folks at the eye-wear shop at Costco and they said that they could not do anything for me. The manager said there is no warranty on eye frames. This is the third and last pair of glasses I ever buy from Costco. Bad customer service at the eye-wear section. If they are going to continue to do business like that they should make customers aware that there is no warranty eyeglasses, they are as-is; That is the reason why I am disappointed at Costco, because that information is not disclosed up front.

Costco service

I am writing this in regards to a disgusting experience my wife has experienced at Costco, today 7/20/09 approximately 3:30 pm at the Garden Grove, CA branch by the membership service personnel Jena (also known as Diana according to temporary membership she assigned)

My pregnant wife walked up to the membership service to acquire a coupon book. When she was asked to show the membership card, she provided the membership card that had no picture on it because we are new members to Costco. This is when Jena started to cause trouble to my wife harassing her as if she were an identity thief trying to steal a coupon book from Costco when clearly all she wanted to do was to shop at Costco. Even when she provided identification card and current address (because her ID had been made in her old address) Jena still treated my pregnant wife in troublesome fashion showing her lots of harsh attitude and ignorance. Just one of the example is when my wife walked up to the service desk Jena pointed her finger at my wife and with her disgruntling loud voice told her co-workers not to do hand her a coupon book or believe her information. She even suspended our membership and wrote that my wife “refused” to provide any information.

My wife and I are members of Costco, and irregardless of the photos or the lack-there-of, we do not deserve to be treated like liars and thieves when we shop at Costco. My wife, especially do not deserve to be treated this way because she has been an Costco international member since 1996.

I was being served terrible by the same supervisor twice at Costco Mountain View. The supervisor, a middle age, Mexican person with black eye brows and black short cut, works at Merchandise Pick Up sector. This afternoon. I purchased two digital cameras, and when I asked a cashier for separate receipts, the teller told me to talk to a supervisor. This supervisor looked very serious when I asked him how to get two separate receipts for each digital camera. The guy told me that because of the Costco system that does not allow to print multi-receipts, But if I were an Executive Member with an AMX card, I can get multi-receipts. This supervisor (I did not want to reveal his name) told me to go to return sector. This guy said, "Ask them (people who work at return sectioin) to give me a call, then I will let you go to the cashier and get your receipts." I returned two items, and because I am not an Executive Member. The second terrible experience occurred to me when I returned to Costco at Mountain View. Around 6:15pm, the door was closed. I asked a person who checks the receipt at the exit door if I could have a chance to enter. However, that terrible supervisor hurried to me, and said, "We're closed, OUT! " I replied, "I just wanted to pick up one item very quickly."It is fine that the Costco has its own policy, but this same supervisor's attitude was really horrible! "Out! Have a good day!" says the supervisor.

The Costco in Brandon, FL suffers from the same problem. We get different answers, saying they allow up to 3 separate receipts, and then the next time, they say, they allow 2. I've asked them to show me in fine print where it says Costco doesn't allow separate receipts but could not show me where. We're executive members - but feel like we're being treated like dirt. I hope other people complain. Some people just don't get it ---- there are financially responsible adults who like filing their receipts separately (groceries, electronics, baby stuff) and don't need the hassle. We do the same in Publix, Home Depot, you name it. -- Now if they upgrade their system to the point where it separates it automatically like they do in some retail stores, then no complaint. ... this is just too much hassle and a no brainer that Costco fails the customer service exam.

Costco manager, cashier, security. push cart

Today July 20, 2009. I enter Costco the worker was looking at me like I can't own Costco card because I’m a teenager. (The Entrance lady was the same person that was giving me attitude when I leaving Costco few month back because she was talking to her co-worker wasn't even paying attention to her job so I kept pushing my cart out all the sudden she YELL at me, telling me to come back because she didn't check my cart with the receipt. Then we had agurement in front of Costco so the manager came out trying to talk everything out. We told the manager she was talking to the co-worker wasn't paying attention. So we just walk away she was yelling at us we was yelling back at her. She was so rude). Then Today I was follow all around the store by manager and security because they were accused for stealing? I even wave at the manager and the security. They wave back. After I paid for my chicken, bread and car towels. The cashier was yelling at the co-worker saying " WHY YOU YELLING AT ME FOR ! I just look at her she just turning her head. I left costco the manager and the security came out hiding behind the pole either manager/security called one of the co-worker (loader?) follow me to my car copying down my license plate. I don't know what's their problem? It's the worst costco i ever been too. racist manager and security. I will never go there ever again.

PLEASE provide the person's name and location of the Costco you were at. Those are the information Costco needs before they can fix the problem. I would also recommend you to either send a complaint to the corporate office or put a complaint in the "Suggestion box" at that Costco you were at. Again, remember they need a name... SOrry, you had a bad experience. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Costco Horrible customer service and treatment at tire department

I will no longer buy tires from the Costco Tire department. I have been a loyal customer of Costco for many, many years but the service at the tire department is just horrible, especially at the Glendale, Ca location. Recently I purchased a set of tires because my front tires needed to be replaced. The Costco employee helping me told me that my rear tires had to be moved to the front and the new set would have to be put in the rear. My old rear tires are mismatched so I wanted them to stay in the rear and have my new tires in the front. The employee said that would not be possible because of their policy, but that after driving 5, 000 miles or more, I could come in for a free rotation at which time my new tires would be moved to the front and the front tires would be moved to the rear. Well I went back to Costco after driving around 7, 000 miles. As soon as I tried explaining why I was here to the employee, named Michael Lopez, he cut me off and told me to “show” him in a snappy tone. So I showed him and then explained to him why I was here one more time and he flat out said he would not rotate my tires. I asked him why not and he just kept on saying he could take my car to inspect the tires but that he would not rotate them. I told him that made no sense and then he started yelling at me and then told me “I’m done. I’m not talking to you anymore.” At this point I told Lopez to call the warehouse manager, named Bob Holden to which Lopez said he wasn’t here today. This explained why Lopez was walking around acting like he owned the place and speaking rudely to customers-his boss wasn’t there. Finally the store manager named Ryan arrived but as soon as he did, Lopez ran to him and pulled him away into the garage and spoke with him privately for 10 minutes, lying to him about when had happened. After the 10 minutes, I finally got to speak to Ryan but by then it was obvious that it was a lost cause. Either way, I told him what had really happened and he “encouraged” me file a complaint with the corporate office which I will do next. I have never been treated so badly as a customer. Even though Lopez won’t get into any real trouble, he was still scared apparently because when I returned after shopping to get his business card, he pretended to not have any left when I had seen a bunch of cards on the counter before. I also caught a glimpse of the store manager Ryan yelling at Lopez for his treatment of customers. I had heard about bad customer service at Costco tire departments, particularly this location in Glendale, Ca, but I didn’t think it could be this bad. Oh was I wrong. And after telling friends and family and coworkers about what happened, I got a few stories told to me about horrible treatment from Michael Lopez and the tire department. I will NEVER be a Costco tire customer again. Even Costco as a whole is debatable.

I been a Costco member since 1989 and first time bought tires from the Richmond store in CA. on 7/3/22

Happy with the price, paid drove out heading home the TPMS warning light came on which tells me one of the tires is under inflated. When I got home I check tire pressure on all 5 tires ( including spare) they were within specs 32-33 psi. So i thought I will drive it next day and see. The next day same thing TPMS light did not go away so I call them and they tell me to come in for a quick scan on 7/5/22, they found the left front wheel TPMS was faulty was told needs replacing, so I made appointment for 717/22 11am to replace it.

After waiting 1.5 hours they tell me it needs TPMS sensor @ $60, I agreed , after they installed the new sensor 45mins later they told me they can't reset the TPMS light cos they don't have the right tools and for me to go to a dealer. I said ok and for them to put old sensor back. After they finished and I ready to reverse out of the parking lot, I notice 2 other warning lights came on as well ( VSC and LSD skid) now I have 3 warning lights on. I went back inside to tell them about it but they don't want to admit they might have shorted the circuit somehow. So they gave me a complaint form to fill so they can pass the complaint to their insurance dept. Next day their insurance called and ask what happen I told them the same story, she said she will get back to me. Next day she called and said they only have equipment for tires only. so they can't do anything but for me to take to the dealer.

I am very disappointed, first, the won't admit they messed up my car, secondly, if they don't have the proper equipment and training. Now I will have to spend more money to fix their wrong doing. I will go to 7 on your side the BAR and consumers complaint and finally to my lawyer when I get the full report from dealer.

I will never buy tires from Costco again ever ! Shame on you Costco !

I purchased a set of All terrain tires for my 1998 Chevy Suburban at the Pyramid Highway Costco in Reno NV. Before even getting to the Highway a wheel weights fell off. The manager had the crew redo all the wheel balancing. In retaliation for catching their bad work they did not torque the lug nuts on the front right wheel. Three lug nut studs stripped out requiring the lug nuts to need to be cut off to remove the wheel. The wheel hub was ruined along with the 8 studs and lug nuts. Costco's so called expert blamed it on rust and metal fatigue and everything else except their employee not torquing the lug nuts. I am glad the wheel did not fall off at some point and kill my family. And I will never be buying anything ever again from Costco.

I'm member from Costco since 2007, when this store located in Norwalk CT. Start’s business in this town, I was very satisfied with the variety of goods and other products for home. I also buy my tires in Costco (I got 4 vehicles), but unfortunally lately, the tire service is a mess, since this take a long time to do a simple service as tire rotation, I been 3 times (every time I've been wasting 2 hours), at the service place, waiting for my car and always has been something wrong, and the service crew do not accomplish with the service, because they said that my wheels need some kind of center ring to adjust the wheels to my car, which I do not understand, since that the place where I bought this wheels toll me that this kind of wheels don't need that part since they are customized, for my Toyota Camry 2004. But Costco people insist in that matter. So I decided do not bring my car and none of my cars any more to Costco for tires since in my opinion this is a bad service. In top of that the last time that I brought my car to the same service, I got a nice size dent in the front passenger door, and Costco do not take responsibility about that, so for me is very frustrated the fact that is the third time that I bring my car to the same service, that always for one or other reason has been never done and now I have to pay to fix the dent in the door of my car. Is ridiculous what happen now with this customer service, when you asking what is going on, there is no answer; the solution for everything is "sorry we cannot help you with that, we don't know who bust you door", “sorry we do not how this happen”. To me this is not customer satisfaction, since there is not a satisfactory service or care for customers, I decided that is the last time that I buy tires in Costco, I know maybe this big company do not care about that, but at least I rather pay for those service to other people that care about me.

I will never buy tires from Costco again. They sell you the tires but will find any reason not to rotate or balance or fix the tires. After you wait 2 to 3 hours, they call you to tell you to tell you the reason as to why they could not service your tire. One time they could not rotate the tires because the front tires were under their thread limit. Another time, they did not rotate the tires because although the tire had enough thread but it was 7 years old. This repetitive behavior from different individuals seems to be the store policy.

Yesterday, I brought my car in because there was a nail in the tire. I asked them to fix the tire and balance all 4 tires. After a while, the attendant called me to tell me that the nail was toward the edge of the tire and that it cannot be fixed, either I have to purchase a new tire or he can put the spare on for me. I told him that this tire has only 5000 mile on it, it is under warrantee, I purchased 4 tires 6 years ago to get the $70 rebate but this tire was installed on the car last year. After arguing and complaining to the manager, finally they agreed to replace it.

I used to go to costco where the prices were cheaper and the customer service was superior. Now, The prices are more expensive than other stores, you have to wait 2 to 3 hours for service and the service sucks. Shop around, you will find the same prices if not better with better service.

I've been a loyal and happy COSTCO customer for many years. I seek out COSTCO warehouses no matter where I travel in the United States or otherwise. I've always been extremely happy with COSTCO service philosophy, products, and positive treatment of customers and their employees.
Today, I was complete aghast at what I witnessed at COSTCO, 10925 Baltimore Avenue, Beltsville, MD. It is raining extrememly hard here today and this particular over-the-top busy warehouse was comsumed with such an overbundance of patrons, I could not find a parking space even at the back of the building. Lines were long but everything seemed good. The warehouse was wall-to-wall people.
I stopped by the food court to buy a piece of pizza for my nephew and a diet coke for me and didn't mind standing in a very long line and allowing the understaffed concession personnel (no more than 4 staff) to do the best they could making what seemed like a mountain of pizzas to go and wait on customers. I don't think I've ever seen so many people ordering and waiting for pizzas. After I paid for my pizza I patiently waited for it to come out of the oven. As I waited, I watched a nicely dressed man in about his 30s approach one of the concession workers who was frantically cutting pizzas, boxing them and trying to do the best she could to keep up with the large number of people waiting.
The man said to the woman in a very abrasive and disrespectful voice, "D-I-D Y-O-U M-A-K-E T-H-E P-I-Z-Z-A?" The concession woman seemed very embarrased but continued to work because she had a mountain of people waiting. The man relentlessly berated this woman even though he could see how crazy busy she and her co-workers were. He seemed to only care about himself. She quietly told the man she'd make the pizza now if he'd like but he shot daggers at her with his eyes and continued to berate her with the above question again and again. Some people who were waiting patiently for their number to be called, yelled at the man to stop badgering this woman and let her do her work. One specific person yelled, "We are customers too and we're waiting." The man ignored them and continued his attack. Finally, another manager approached this man. told him he was needed in the cage, and the man reluctantly and slowly walked away. As he did, he stared angrily at the woman he had been berating. .
As the man turned around one more time, I was aghast to see he had a COSTCO badge on. I could not believe any COSTO employee would treat one of their co-workers in that manner and especially at a time when it was impossible for the four people working to keep up witht he volume of food being ordered. As he walked away the hard working staff at the Food Court silently looked at one another and from my perspective seemed like someone just beat them up emotionally. But, they had a job to do and they continued doing it as best they could.
I was able to get a look at the badge of the COSTCO worker, and his name was Cecil. I followed Cecil and asked one of his co-workers what his title was. I found out Cecil was not only a COSTCO employee but, the Front End Manager. When I got home, I called COSTCO to verify. It was indeed COSTCO's Front End Manager, Cecil disrupting his employees during a major rush.
This experience has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth. The dark scene at COSTCO's Food Court was disgusting and embarrasing for all of us, employees and customers.
First and foremost, I will make a formal complaint about Cecil to as many Managers and Corporate Executives as I possibly can. I want to know how COSTCO will deal with the matter, and most important, I want to make sure the hard workers at the COSTCO Warehouse in Beltsville, MD, Food Court are complimented and not reprimended for their hard work.
Even if this particular employee or one of her co-workers forgot the particular pizza order in questions, this could have been worked out professionally, privately, and without any embarrassment or disruption to any and all concerned.
I will not return to the Beltsville Warehouse until I know Cecil has been repremanded and the hard working Food Court staff complimented on handling an almost impossible situation.
I believe when the founders of COSTCO, Jim Sinegal and Jeffrey Brotman, created and develped their corporate philosophy as well as goals and objectives, they did not want disrespectful and rude managers such as Cecil as part of their management team.
I sincerely hope COSTCO will recify this negative situation so loyal customers and COSTCO's hard working staff feel like they are part of the COSTCO mission for superior products, great service, and nurturing their employees not cutting them to shreads publically.
This was a very sad and sickening day for me at COSTCO. I sincerely hope this situation is handled properly and not swept under the rug.

1st. It is always best to have the new tires in the rear, it allows the rear of the car to maintain traction and helps prevent hydroplaning.

2nd. This person went 2, 000 miles past the recommendation for the rotation, on admittedly mismatched tires. [speculation]Mismatched tires, only 2 purchased and 2, 000 miles over recommended window for rotation. Who knows how the alignment was at that point. Seems pretty lax on the upkeep.[/speculation]

3rd. Would you go to a Cardiologist and tell him where to put the stint?

I'm sure Costco trains there employees and enforces strict guidelines.

(Wouldn't want to lose my job by trying to keep a lesser informed person happy.)

4th. What position did Lopez hold with Costco.

5th. Not one quoted word from the "private" Ryan/Michael conversation, only vehement assurance of deceit.

A lot of hearsay. I wouldn't believe this person for many reasons, the most of which are what he/she says happened out of his/her sight. If there were a disagreement, it was probably a safety issue that the tech was justified in defending his company about.
Next time, buy 4 tires and there won't be any issues. Mismatched tires are a hazard in themselves and asking a company to participate in your risky behavior is just stupid. You want to take those risks; rotate your own tires.
Costco has always given me good service. They are understaffed for their membership, but they do get the job done. Tires are a seasonal item that no tire shop can stay staffed full time for; a change in the weather can spur a surge in customers and people are usually impatient and don't plan to wait. When safety is the issue, I will be patient and wait for the job to be done right!

Costco costco worst customer service - chantilly, va

I bought a jug of 2% reduced milk from Manassas, VA. After I drove back home to Chantiily, VA I found out half of the jug leaked in my trunk. I spent an hour under the hot summer sun to clean up everything. It still has a bad milky smeel. Then I had to go to the closest COSTCO at Chantilly, VA to ask the solution for their leaking product. First, I got yelled at at the front door, because I was going through the exit door which I thought was the one to go the custermor service, because they are directly connected. Both a guy and a women employees at the front door yelled at me like I'm trying to do something so badly. So I went quietly through the entrance door and went through the side door, and finally reached to customer service desk. I explained what happend and how much inconvenience it cost me due to their leaking mile to a representative (Irene). She looked at me and said "I could return this product and buy another one." She even didn't appologize to me for what happened to me because of their crappy product. I felt it was not acceptable and so I told her. Then another representative (Milly), who is a manager. The first thing she told me was "You are giveing her crap for something you bought from another store." I asked her, "first of all, isn't here a COSTCO store? Does it matter from which COSTCO store I purchase the product. Secondly, Irene shoud look at the situtaion itself and not where I bought the milk. She stood cold and asked me "what do you want?" She said they only thing she could do is to refund me the milk and give me a milk for free. I said that's fine, but also you need to appologize to me for your defective product, and nobody has done that yet since I walked in the door. It feels like killing her but she finally said "ok, I appologize to you for the milk." which she didn't sound like she truely meant it. Then I told her "you also need to appologize to me for the attitude that I received from here." She paused for a while, and said "ok I appologize to you for that too." I called the general membership phoneline and complained what happened. The guy on the line said he would forwarded to the warehouse in Chantilly, VA. I don't shop at COSTCO a lot before. Definitely I don't think I will go back there if they don't improve their customer service. I can spend money somewhere else being treated properly.

Leaky mild sucks but it's hard not to notice it before you get out of the store. It seems to me that Costco handled it fine by refunding you and giving you another milk for free. They will take back anything anyway, including food.

I think you are totally unjustified in your complaint. You come off as an angry, rude, obnoxious person and I hope I never run into you anywhere. Who hasn't had milk spill when they did not place it down properly? Who has not had to clean a mess in the hot sun? Forcing staff to apologize to you for your error and then expecting even more. This is petty, how would you react if you had a real problem? I hate to imagine. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with someone such as you. Costco doesn't need you and is probably happy you don't go there anymore.

Oops someone already beat me to the spilled milk joke. Why should Irene apologize becaue of your carelessness. If the milk were leaking you would have noticed it at buying it. Instead you should thank her for allowing her to allow you to change it since in most cases they won't let you change food products especially if it has already left the store and was leaking to your carelessness. So for your carelessness you expect an apology. When you should be writing a thank you letter you write a complain letter. This just proves that some people complain over little things, and yes I will use the famous phrase some people cry over spilled milk. :D You should apologize to her for your attitude. She only apologized to you to get rid of you. Honestly some people need to grow up. If you were not acting like a spoiled ten year old perhaps they would have given you better attitude. Hope you drove home carefully and not in anger because of this.

Costco spout of new kirkland milk jug

My children had problems pouring milk from the gallon jugs when they were young, albeit they got the hang of it. We used to think this was cute as they learned. This new design that has been placed on our shelves, even an adult cannot pour with spilling milk everywhere. Kind of like a payback to the ones who laughed at the kids for pouring it all over themsleves. There is not one time that I have been able to pour without losing milk, so in my opinion the company saves money and it might be the Green way, however, in the long run the consumer is losing money by wasting milk everytime it is being poured. I believe this is a poor pour design, and I will call Costco and see how they plan on reimbursing me on the milk that is being wasted every time I use the product.

The jug's continue to pour inconsistent at best. Even when they do pour well we're always wiping the drip running down the front off. I got mad enough I built a solution: www.squarejug.com With the cap/pour spout integrated it doesn't spill or drip anymore.

I agree completely! I bought the new gallon yesterday and poured milk into my son's cereal bowl this morning. Milk flowed all down the sides of the container and then underneath all over my table. I tried a number of times, and created a mess each time. I poured a glass later, and found it was easier, simply by tilting the glass and not having to tilt the milk, but I should not have to do this! I will not be buying any more Costsco / Kirkland milk. What a joke!

Costco alli

My complaint is, I shopped in the Lantana/Florida Costco today. I wanted to buy the product, Alli starter pack. They only carry the refill pack. They have a coupon for the starter pack & the refill that was mailed to me. The reason I want the starter pack is it has all the important info and small packet for the daily dose that you can carry with you. Item #342063 & #531004 listed on the coupon.

This bothers me as well. They need to carry the Starter Pack because it is the only one that holds the information on usage. It also has a health guide, helpful information and a small "diary." To me, this is important. If someone goes out to buy the Alli Starter Pack, but all they see are the refills, they might end up just buying that and they could possibly use the drug wrong. That will lead to customer complaints and Costco could get into trouble with that later down the road.

Costco parking lot damage

Yesterday my car was AGAIN damaged by a shopping cart left in the parking lot at this Costco. Previously I called the manager when it happened and he said he could observe it on the video monitors and that they would work diligently on the problem. Here is what happens: I am a handicapped person and I park in handicapped spaces. (I have handicapped plates on my car.) People leaves their shopping carts in the spaces between handicapped parking spaces and in the center aisles of the handicapped areas. Some of these people are handicapped and some are not. Yesterday as I was returning to my car after shopping, I just happened to see a man push his empty cart at my car. There were two other empty carts nearby in a parking space. I called to him: "Sir, please return your cart." He turned away and I called out again "Sir, please don't leave your cart here. Abandoned carts damage cars...my car has been damaged before." He turned back and said "So What!" I again asked him to return the cart and he became very angry and made verbal threats and rude gestures. At that point, I got the other two carts and started to return them when he started his car...I thought he was going to back over me, but instead he drove ahead and sped away. As I pushed the carts back to the cart return space, the man circled the parking lot and again made rude gestures and stopped revving his motor. He sped away after a few seconds. (While I was asking the man to return his cart, two Costco employees went by with their ropes to gather up carts and didn't stop and didn't get the carts where I was.)
May I offer a suggestion? Could signage be installed in the handicapped area and marked on the carts asking customers to return carts to the store for the safety of other. (I'm a firm believer in positive signage: "Please return your cart. Handicapped persons need your help in keeping this area free of shopping carts."
I know I can't stop the person who deliberately damages cars with a cart or the person who is angry because handicapped persons have signed parking areas, but I believe some people don't even realize that they are causing a problem. (Ramps can't be deployed when there are carts in the space between spaces; handicapped persons may need extra space to enter/exit their vehicle; etc.)

Costco customer disservice

After reading a number of complaints about Costco. I have changed my strategy. I will henceforth, show up at checkout with rolls of pennies, boycotting is not enough. When the employees, swallow the company take on how to behave, which is to misbehave, then the whole group needs to be reminded on how to behave. So the Managers and assistant managers are "too busy" to work with customers!

Strange indeed. My Costco has exceptional service in every regard. Always pleasant and helpful, always ready to return or exchange if not happy, and the sample marketeers are great! They even let me return a stereo receiver I bought for my mother, without receipt, after at least two years, and gladly gave me the last sale price back in CASH! I only wanted a store credit! No problems here with Costco!

Costco irritating business model

Disservice to the customer: I have a number of beefs with Costco Wholesale. For years now I have gotten a type of bait and not switch from costco. Generally I find their own Kirkland Brand to be well priced and of good quality. On five occasions I basically got hooked on either a Kirkland Product or another mfg. product--hooked meaning it became a staple of or in my families' diet and then because of market conditions Costco has discontinued these products. OK business is business, so I called Costco, and explained that I drive 35 minutes each way to get to Costco and should they drop an item it would be nice to know in advance. No such luck was the response. Anyway to check online ahead of time to see what disappointment might await, ----- no luck the response. Are you interested in my complaint----- no not really is the response. Do you have some means for "members" (which should really be altered to privilege holders, we aren't members, members have some voice) to voice their likes, dislikes, desires, ---- answer----- no but thank you for wasting your time calling and giving me something to do for 3 minutes.
OK, with a deep breath and a big long extended o and extended k.
Last time at Costco: we have member cards via an arrangement we have with our employer. The gal with the task to get our yearly contribution forgot to get/solicit the contribution from me. I spend 65 minutes shopping and get up to the checkout: "your card expired this Tuesday" go to customer disservice. Where they told me I could pay $50 and buy my items. I retorted, I have had this card 7 years, there was a mix up and no $50 for you. Can I speak to a manager. The manager refused to allow me to check out by using someone elses card, even her card--go home, no food for you! If I had been told, look guy I will get fired if I do that for you. I would have taken her response without doing much chewing of my own cud but just hearing no seemingly for the glee of it did not cut it.
There are probably 10 items, that I would really like to buy at Costco, for both price and quality but the "arrangement" is over, I can and am going elsewhere.

I agree that the situation was frustrating, and it would have been nice if they would have been willing to make some accommodation.

The trick in this case would have been to sign up for Costco membership, then cancel it for a full refund. In fact, you can apparently cancel memberships from prior years, since their policy states:
We will refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied.

Since you were dissatisifed, you qualify for the full refund.

good answer neophyte58. costco cannot control what the company does to your membership. it's as simple as if the membership is paid you can shop, if it isnt you can't. it is not fair for a person to be able to shop with their membership expired when everyone else is paying for their membership to be able to shop.

You must be calm and respectful if you wish to be treated calmly and respectfully. It sounds like you have some issues and pent up negativity, and take it out on anyone in the way! I'll bet my lunch money for a week you have perfected rubbing people the wrong way and blaming others for every problem in your life. Anyone can detect this. Now...

If you treat people with kindness, and always with respect, it will come back at you tenfold! Next time you're in Costco, I recommend apologizing [meaningfully] to the people you treated badly, and you'll see they will go out of their way for you next time. If you want to change the Costco Business Model, put in a constructive suggestion and you'll probably get a "Thank You" for doing so! Thank them for carrying products you like and become accustomed to, and when they change them, try the new one out! You may be surprised that it is as good as or BETTER than the previous one!

Costco is a [successful] business because of its' business model and customer satisfaction! It exists for one reason, and one reason ONLY; return on investment! It is profitable because its' customers are happy and satisfied. So don't be fooled you're bringing Costco to it's knees. Pay your company fee and get back to enjoying life and the great Costco Products! And walk every day for 45 minutes. It is a great stress reliever and you'll get fit as well.

Costco mattress stinking of chemicals

I received a Sealy Waterbrook mattress from Costco a month ago. It is still emitting an overpowering stench of chemicals, and I'm waking up with breathing difficulties and stinging eyes. The odor is so strong that you can smell it from the hall leading up to the bedroom. I contacted Costco, and they said that they will replace it with the identical mattress, which will likely outgas in the same way. I then contacted Sealy, and was cheerfully told by their customer service rep that these fumes were somehow desirable, like "a new car smell".
The vendor concedes that the foam used in the mattress may have been improperly cured, that the mattresses may have been wrapped immediately after construction, but are unprepared to do anything about it.
I fear the long-term health consequences of exposure to this out-gassing, and find it unconscionable that these companies rush these products to the consumer without taking the time to properly cure the product so that it does not emit these chemicals into their consumer's homes.

Linda,
I have the same problem. Purchased a Sleep Science bed from Costco. Its been a month now and the smell of chemicals and almost like mildew smell is just awful!
My boyfriend suffered severe breathing problems and asthma attack. I have also been sleeping on the couch but move late night since the couch is so small. I began to do some reach and its quite scary what they put in these mattresses.
The awful part is that companies do not disclose what fire ###ant chemicals they use because its a trade secret. I called Sealy since I wanted to buy a regular spring mattress and asked what chemicals they use and they stated that they do not use any which is a lie. Organic beds are way over my budget and we are left with few options. I'm actually going to have to look at futon mattresses.

the second you smelled that horrible smell you should have returned the mattress to your local Costco. They have a great return policy and would give you a full refund so that in return you can purchase a new mattress "fragrance-free" somewhere else maybe your local at your local mattress store if they didn't have anything there for you. so you did it to yourself dont complain!

Costco horrible experience

After a horrible experience with a company called eCost, which sold me a Westinghouse 42" TV for a very good price plus $50 shipping and a six month warranty and never delivered, I kicked myself and went to Costco online, where the exact same item was being sold for TEN BUCKS MORE... lousy ten bucks!... with a two year warranty to boot.
Costco was always my preferred vendor when I lived in a city that had one of their stores. Now, I'm old and in the boonies. No Costco, but they're online with the same great prices and service. I got my TV three days after ordering it, and am totally happy with both Costco and my Westinghouse LCD TV. To sum up: I should have gone to Costco right away, instead of wasting time with a bunch of incompetents.

Agree! This should be a positive for Costco. Is there a moderator who could move this?

Someone needs to RE-DIRECT this complaint to the proper title search.
This is not a complaint against Costco, this is a complaint against a company
called E-Cost.

Can the author of this posting re-direct this?
I love the ethics and Customer Service at Costco, so... let's get this filed correctly.

Thanks

Costco costco going political and biased

we were shopping at costco some time in January and saw some weird people dressed up like clowns handing out flyers. they were there for a show they claimed for chinese new year, but actually we could recognize that they belong to the illegal organization of "falun gong", which forbids people to use any medicne or medical treatment, while its own leaders still use. it is very political and is a big insult to the majority of Chinese.
we are seriously considering terminating out membership because we don't want our money go to such an organization through the support of costco.

Costco poor customer service

Costco has the most miserable customer service I have ever experienced. I once spent about 2 hours shopping, and was set to spend over 200 dollars. I waited in the long line and the cashier scanned all my stuff. I tried to pay with a VISA (most widely accepted credit card in the world) credit card, which apparently is not taken by Costco. It was the only form of payment I brought, and the cashiers would not take it. I asked to speak with the manager, who then repeatedly rolled his eyes when I explained to him my situation. As I began offering alternatives, he would just say NO without even hearing my entire explanation. I do realize that it was my own fault for not bringing the correct form of payment, but don't get angry at me for doing everything I can to save myself over 2 hours of my time.

After this experience with the manager, I immediately called the Costco customer service call center to complain about the way I was treated. I got on the phone and explained my situation about being inconvenienced both by their credit card policy and by the store manager. I explained that I was paying a flat fee to shop at a place that doesn't accept a form of payment that is very convenient for me, and that I was very angry about the way I was treated by the manager, and that the flat fee I'm paying isn't worth it for such poor service. I was expecting a discounted membership, or maybe set of coupons, but the low IQ people on the line did not know how to do their jobs very well. One of their main functions is to be sure that they do not lose customers, because it costs 10 times more to get a new customer than to hold on to an existing customer. However, after going three levels up the chain of command, I realized that they were not going to give.

These are my last words during a conversation with their main supervisor at the call center

Me: "I really enjoy shopping at Costco, I think they have great prices and I'd rather not cancel my membership. Is there any way you all can work with me to compensate me for the time I lost in your warehouse tonight as well as for the treatment I received from the store manager."

Supervisor: "I really don't know what you mean by "work with you".

Me: "How about a discounted membership or some coupons".

Supervisor: "Here at Costco we don't really do that. We at customer service don't give stuff like that".

Me: "Ok, cancel my membership"

I'm now a loyal Sam's club member, and their service is much better than Costco.

My family has been shopping at the Myrtle Beach location since it first opened. The customer service was always personable and fine up until the past year when it went downhill very fast. I have been there twice since noticing the changes and neither trip was pleasant. The feeling is like being in a communist inhuman country, take a ticket you're a nobody, not the pleasant place my family has been paying to shop in for over a decade. The vision center where I used to be able to go right up and count on impressive service and no wait in line just for a quick eyeglass adjustment has gone. The man I spoke to on one visit was acting horribly and carried an attitude like an angry prison guard not someone in customer service. When I walked off in disgust, he was still chastising me over asking for an eyeglass adjustment and pointing to a non-existent "line." That was something new, even if there were a few people getting eyeglasses before they always had time for an adjustment. No one was standing there in his "line" that night and none of my family saw any sign to que either. I don't mind waiting my turn, but I won't be treated like that, especially in a place I'm paying to shop. I will go elsewhere for my vision needs now. Secondly, the credit card powered food kiosks are horrible. It's a store not a theme park. I was told by my cashier that I could still pay with cash so ok I step over to the counter and the employee just glared at me silently and went in the back. I waited for a moment, but she never came back. Not even the guy preparing pizzas said a word to me. Perhaps I should have been more persistent but behavior like that is still disgusting. Lastly, the checkout was not any better on either visit. The cashiers were all frowning and rude and in la-la land and I had to ask 3 times on my second visit for my cashier to add stamps to the list. It's a total flipped experience. Cosco employees were all friendly before and helpful and would even run and get you stuff you forgot before. Based on the reasonable reviews here I can see that something has gone wrong with Costco's customer service overall right up to the upper management. This is a shame because this company carries different items that I cannot find anywhere else.

Why if the meat is cut the price goes up by an average of $3.00 per pound? I went to Costco today spent $103.00 on a piece of meat, asked an employee to cut it into 1 inch steaks and was told they could not. Then was told they could but the price would go up $3.00 per pound. What a racket! This should be done when spending 100+ dollars FOR FREE! Costco these are your employees and are getting paid to do a job, cutting meat. Come on you make plenty of $ why screw the people that frequent your store.

Recently my vehicle was damaged by a line of shopping carts that Costco stores in their traffic driveway in front of their store. Just got off the phone with their loss department and was told that they are no responsible for the damage because one of their customers may have caused the issue.

I have recently gone into the Costco Warehouse in Morthridge California with only 2 items in my hand. I am expected to get on a line with 10 people and they each have 10 items. They have 8 lines the same way. It is abominable how the service has gone down. It is the worst service I have experienced in 31 years. They closed the Canoga Park warehouse and you can not even get into Northridge on a weekend.

The worst service I have received in 31 years.

I had a terrible experience at Costco Whitemarsh (Baltimore, MD)... the sales employee (Megan) was very rude... snubbed my question, shoved the paper in front of me, and was obviously not interested to deal with a cute minority like me... was chatting with this boy who works at Costco too and maybe flirting... who knows?

Three weeks ago I went to Costco to order eye glasses. They have a numbered queue system, which should have been my first clue that they don't mind making customer wait a long time. When I arrived and took my number there were about six numbers ahead of me. More than 20 minutes passed before they finally called my number. The girls working there had served two young guys out of sequence. So not only do they make you wait, if the girls working there aren't interested in flirting with you then you wait even longer.

Finally I was able to get service and within a few minutes was able to place my order with them.

They told me that my order would be filled within two weeks. After three weeks I called them to find out what was going on. To which they responded that my glasses had been ready since December 4th, but I never got a call.

I drove the 30 minute to Issaquah to pick-up my glasses. When I arrived there were dozens of customers in the queue in front of me. From my previous experience I knew that this meant that my wait would be nearly an hour. Since all I wanted was to pick-up my glasses, I asked the connected optometrist's office to help me collect my glasses. They were only too happy to inform me that none of the four people standing around doing nothing could help me.

Since I could not wait, I went back to my office and called them to ask that they mail my order to me. They informed me that there is a $5 charge for this and that I can only pay with American Express. I don't have an America Express card so they told me that I can drive the 30 minute back there and wait in line to pay the $5 fee.? In response to this I canceled my order. This seemed to delight the girl I was speaking with. However, she initially informed me that they could only be refunded to an American Express card. When I reminded them that I can accept a check they finally agreed to mail me a check.

Upset with having wasted so much time and been treated so poorly, I attempted to file a complaint through the Costco web site. However, the complaint page is broken. Based on my experience, the fact that they have no means of collecting customer feedback is not a surprise.

In Summary:

- Extremely long wait times.

- Aloof, indifferent, and downright rude staff.

- Poor customer service policy.

- Broken customer feedback web page.

Costco never trust costco with your optical needs!

Watch out for Costco: you get what you pay for, plus some extra damage. I got my lenses replaced there, and they needed to be adjusted once they got back from the lab. Not a big deal and entirely expected. However, the first saleswoman they had help me, Marilyn, automatically bent the frames ("boxed off" in her words) back to being perfectly symmetrical, consistent with the shape she thought frames should be. The fatal flaw in this reasoning is that people don't have symmetrical and even faces, as any eyeglass professional I have encountered in my 12 years of wearing glasses (no contacts, just glasses) knows. She spent little time trying to diagnose the problem, and thought they could all be solved by twisting the nosepads. Since she had no success, at times making them worse. Also, after using the machine to heat them to make the metal bendable, she gave them to me to put back on immediately, thus burning the sensitive skin behind my ear. This, again, has never happened to me with any other place, whether it's an eye doctor or free-standing eyeglass boutique.

Finally, she referred me to a second woman, Rebecca, who saw them on my face for 0.2 seconds, then slammed and bent the frames to be even (really, what is it with you people?!) on the table, and they were the worst I fit that I have ever experienced. The frames were wavy, metal twisted, and squeezed my temples. The metal is irrevocably damaged, and I need to return to speak with the manager tomorrow. Rebecca became defensive after I told her to stop working on them, saying "I've been here just as long as Marilyn" and huffing off with an attitude. This complete lack of customer service compounded the damaging incompetence I witnessed. My hands were literally shaking with helpless rage as I watched her destroy my Fendi 662's (not purchased at Costco), and I regret not stopping her. But, when Costco installs employees behind an optical counter, you expect and trust that they're professionals. They're not.

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses 3 weeks ago. One pair was in a week later. Slow, but it was what it was. The second pair is still not shipped from the "lab". They have messed the lenses up 4 times in a row, but they didn't expedite the glasses back in the queue after each botch job. I am so completely dissatisfied. This will be the last time I use Costco Vision Center EVER!. When they finally do come in, if ever, I will reject them if any thing is off.

I strongly disagree with this complaint. I happen to be an optician with 10 years experience and there IS such a thing as a standard adjustment to glasses. This standard adjustment is first administered when glasses are being fit to a patient's face. From there, the optician decide how to adjust the glasses to accommodate the patient's unique physical characteristics. I would assume this customer was probably espousing her so called knowledge about being an "eyeglass professional" and ended up flustering the poor employee. It's no wonder the employees weren't able to execute a routine procedure in the presence of such an overbearing person. Reality check: JUST BECAUSE YOU'VE WORN GLASSES FOR 12 YEARS DOES NOT MAKE YOU AN "EYEGLASS PROFESSIONAL!"

Costco rude manager

When and why would a customer be pushed to the point of calling a manager an a...h...!Well Im 60 years old and I could not contain myself when trying to talk to this rude and disrespectful asst. manager. I asked to speak to the manager in reference to the dates on their chicken salad... after hearing a long conversation about the dates of the 3 day old product, when i just wanted fresh chicken salad, not any that expired the next day... Darrell the asst. mgr.. after repeatedly very loudly telling me I was NOT listening to him... I choice to walk away telling my husband this guy was an a..h... ..and we needed to just go... Darrell followed us from the checkout to the front door... walking behind us...yelling at us.. got in front of out cart..HELD OUR CART..would not let us pass... told us we could never return to this store again... When we asked for his business card he would not give us one... We told this angry, rude, unprofessional, untrained manager.that we would take this up with COSTCO administration...he walked away... WE called Jim Sinegal office at Costco home office, [protected]. and left a message on his asst. phone... who is Karen P. Also, when we called the COSTCO store were this took place and asked for Darrells last name, they would not give it to us...We have spent large amounts of money at Costco over many years...When I went to the complaint website..I was could not belive all the complaints registered towards COSTco...When management can treat the people who keep them in business in this manner...it is poor management indeed...sk.

So disappointed.
I went this afternoon to buy some stuff for my daughter and since we are going to Europe for Christmas to take a picture for passport... I went vas greeted the lady at the back of the counter she didn't answer me. I said hello are you busy? She said we are always busy I then politely mentioned I wanted my daughter to take a picture she then said she have 600 pictures order so she can't do it except I come back the next morning I said ok I will just take her picture so I will pick it up in the morning then very unhappily she ordered me to tell my 16 mo to stand on the chair I assumed it is quick and safe while the child is in the chair she start talking with another person before I say a word my daughter fell down. She didn't say sorry I left so mad and spoke to the manager she careless she said she will talk to her never come back so I have to take my child to the hospital and pay for MRI since she was crying so bad and the chair hit her. It still cuts deep they didn't care! Defiantly you will get served if you don't write me your sorry letter and the action you took regarding your getto staffs.

I have been using coupons at Costco since they started sending them. The first couple of times I used them I dutifully cut them out like I do at our other grocery store. Each time I tried to hand them over the cashiers waived me off; they didn't need the coupons and would either punch in some unknown code or scan the coupon booklet (bar code near my address). The coupons would then be deducted for all the items I purchased. Great, I thought. Modern technology at work. I continued to use coupons and after the second or third time stopped cutting them out - why bother? I would show them the booklet, tell them I had coupons and they would do the rest. Well, tonight at 8:30 as the store was closing and there were a number of people waiting in line behind me the cashier ("Sharon") tells me I have to tear them out. I asked if she was kidding. No, she was not. I think I asked her 3 or 4 more times. Was she serious? It's 8:30 at night. The store is closing. There are people lined up behind me and she is going to insist I page through the booklet to tear each one out? I protested, told her I had been coming to Costco for years and never had to cut out coupons before. She then essentially accused me of lying saying they have only had coupons for a little more than a year. Note that I said I had come to Costco for years not that I had used coupons for years. We continued the back and forth, openly arguing, me threatening to complain to the manager, her saying she IS the manager. I was angry and told her so but kept my cool even though I was so mad I was shaking. I dutifully paged through the booklet and started to tear out each coupon one at a time - while people continued to wait behind me in line. Then she keeps telling me the amount due and I notice that it's not changing. She registered all the valid coupons even before I gave them to her, just as they always had. In the end I didn't even give her all the coupons. She was essentially making me jump through these hoops just to go on some kind of power trip. She claimed they needed the coupons because vendors are accusing them of registering coupons falsely. There were a number of different ways she could have dealt with the situation including (1) saying please do it next time and taking the whole booklet which would have provided them with the coupons they needed for the vendors. (2) Continued to insist that I provide the teared out versions but offered to help me tear them out thereby minimizing the conflict and saving everyone including all the other customers in line time, (3) registering the booklet and then suggesting I go the the service desk where someone would help me tear the coupons out (4) Still insisted that I tear them out to satisfy the store policy but do so apologetically, recognizing that I had not tore them out because my expectations had been set by multiple previous experiences in the same store. I know they do a lot of business and my money may not mean much to them, but I spend almost $300 that day and I have never been treated so poorly when spending that kind of money as I was this time. I will call corporate tomorrow and demand a refund on my executive membership. If I want to be treated like dirt I'll shop somewhere where I don't pay for the privilege.

Costco customer service SUCKS. Their employee's are mostly clueless when it comes to where inventory is, their prices are not nearly as competitive as people think they are, and they treat you like a criminal before they will "let" you leave. You've all had to queue up in the stupid receipt checking line right? Whereby the employee glances at the 30-50 items in your cart, looks at the receipt, then waves you through as if she/he did the fastest inventory check comparison known to man looking for that one stolen item? It's a useless waste of time, the funniest part of it is if you walk in the entry circle around then leave without buying anything they do nothing, shouldn't they be frisking you? If you're going to steal just make sure you don't BUY ANYTHING first and laugh at all the suckers waiting in their second line of the day, once to get to a checker, then move 50 feet and get into the wanna get the f*** out of here line.

My husband and I have had to return many items at Costco that clearly have been repacked that customers have returned that are missing parts, or are defective. It is no longer cost effective to buy these items at costco because we live on a island and returning these items on are once a month trip is clearly frustrating . I have complained to them and it continues to happen. So costco has lost my buisness on anything that is a nonfood item. its to bad that they do not take the time to check out there returns instead of just taking there customers word that they have not used them and that the parts are all there.
