On 7/30/26 I received a voicemail from Comenity Bank regarding charges on my card. I did not make these charges and between 7/25 and 7/29 the thief ran up over $1600 in charges. On receipt of the voicemail (around 2:00 p.m. EDT) I immediately called the number they left and got a message that "no one is available now to take my call" and was directed to their online customer service. The online customer service no longer has live agents to chat with. Moreover, when you click on the "fraud" tab, it directs you to the unstaffed number I called.
The Bread Financial (parent company) website states that there should be customer service from 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.There is not.
I reached out to the merchant as these online orders have not yet been fulfilled, and hopefully they will be able to assist me, but I need this account cancelled and a new card issued.
Claimed loss: $1605 in fraudulent charges
Desired outcome: I would like the charges cancelled, card cancelled and reissued with a new number, and notice to credit reporting agencies about the fraud.
