fraudulent charges, billed back to my account
Citibank called me first about charges to my account number. I called back and verified I did not make the charges. 5 charges. Within 10 days git a form letter stating the charges were determined to be made by me. Fraud dept called to say, the charges would remain on my BILL AND THAT WAS IT. IF I WANTED TO PROTEST, I would have to start the process in writing. I am here now to START THE PROCESS. I DID NOT MAKE THE CHARGES. I am going to the courts with this. Citibank the FRAUDULENT charges are over 1000.00 dollars! Old card last digets 8580 new card 5292. Therese Rockwell [protected]
business account blocked by "know your customer" team
On 31 July 2019 I tried to authorise a wire payment from our business account only to find out that I could not do so and that an error code of 972 was indicated.
On 1 August 2019 I telephoned 1- 877- 528-0990 and explained my problem. Your colleague there was helpful and said that a specialised "Know Your Customer KYC)" Team had blocked the account as they were awaiting information to verify the account. We have received no letters or e-mails requesting any information so I was surprised that the account was blocked. On 1 August I was told by your colleague that I could not contact the KYC team direct and that your colleague had to do it and could only contact them by e-mail there was no phone number to call. Your colleague informed me that he would e-mail them and that someone from the KYC team would call me urgently. I heard nothing from anyone so I rang again on the 5th August and had exactly the same conversation with the same result that a colleague will e-mail the KYC team and they would contact me urgently. I phoned again on 6th August and again today and I am still awaiting a response. It is ridiculous that I have not had a response either the KYC team are understaffed or incompetent or both!. I urgently need to authorise a wire from my USA account which was due to be paid on 1st August. I am based in the UK so cannot just walk into a branch to get this resolved. My e-mail is david@hudsonshoes.com and because I work at two different locations probably the best telephone number to get me on is +44(0)[protected].
The resolution I need is for the account to be unblocked and also for someone to e-mail me what information the KYC team need so that I can get it to them and get the account back to normal.
Being based in London we are six hours ahead of you hence the e-mail address and mobile numbers are the best contact points for me as I have access to these 24/7.
I'm sorry to have to raise this complaint I cannot fault the people I have spoken to as it appears their hands are tied but I have a huge complaint against the KYC team and the Citibank procedures which have meant that the first I knew my account was blocked was when I tried to use it.

Case Reference: S-[protected] was raised on 8th July 2019 and today 7th August 2019 has exactly been one month since this case was raised.
Below is the screenshot that I could see that my Citibank Corporate card had been charged for this dubious transaction date of charge on June 03, 2019.
I have sent two follow up emails dated July 15th and July 22nd respectively but did not receive any reply at all.
It is really disappointing from a client satisfaction perspective that there was no reply at all from Citibank after sending out two follow up emails. Can you please help me to understand what is going on with this case?
closure of my credit card due to back office bank error
I am diligent about checking my credit card account online, I do it almost daily. On June 24, 2019 I was checking my account and noticed it was closed. I thought that was strange so I called the next day. I spoke with customer service who told me that my account was closed by the back office because they received info that I was filing for bankruptcy. I was in disbelief as I have never filed for bankruptcy nor do I have plans to file for bankruptcy. I told the rep that it is false information. She said she couldn't do anything as they cannot contact back office that closed the account. I was very angry and asked to speak to a supervisor as to how to resolve this. I am very cautious with my credit and was concerned about the damage the false closure would affect my credit. I was told by the supervisor to send in a letter stating that I had no plans to file. I mailed a letter on June 26, 2019 with the information that was asked of me. I checked back about 7-10 business days later as I was told that is about when they would receive the letter. I spoke to another customer service rep and explained the situation, he told me that the credit reporting agency had reported it and I needed to call and resolve with them. I called them as soon as I got off the phone with your rep. Credit reporting agency told me that the information that your rep gave me was incorrect and that Citibank is the one that would have reported it. I had him check my credit anyhow and he said there were no problems with my credit. I called Citibank again and asked for a supervisor as I was misinformed on the previous call by one of your reps. When I spoke with supervisor, he told me you had received my letter and they were updating the account. A couple of requests were made to reopen the account as this was YOUR back office's error. The requests were denied. I called in again, I believe, on July 24, 2019 to check back with status and the information was the same. My last attempt to speak with someone was early August. On that call, I was told that a supervisor would call me once they spoke with someone to get an update on my issue. No phone call was every received by me.
I am so upset and disappointed with Citibank. The treatment I've received as a customer in good standings with your bank is beyond unacceptable. None of the reps or supervisors could provide information that would really help and no seems to care that your bank made an error and could possibly damage my credit. This has been going on for over a month and a half with no real resolution. My credit card is still showing that it is closed due to a possible filing of bankruptcy which i have reiterated several times that I am not filing. I am a very unhappy customer as of now and may consider legal action if this doesn't get resolve. According to your reps, they have filed complaints for me, but no action has been taken by anyone from Citibank to resolve other than receiving a letter 2-3 weeks after you erroneously closed my account stating that you closed my account due to a potential bankruptcy filing. I hope the action I am taking in writing my complaint gets me somewhere with a resolution but at this point, I have lost faith your in company.
citi banking account
I just want to convey a message that - YOU ARE USELESS! You provide the worst service and the worst experience! You just couldn't help me setup a direct deposit with my new employer. That was a shame right. All I needed was just a supporting document or reference letter fax or any kind of prof or an email with my basic information for my employer to verify and then confirm the direct deposit. If you are not able to provide my basic information to myself then what's the use of you existing and serving your customers. On top of that you lose business and customer for which you don't even bother about. Since you failed to provide that I'm going to setup a direct deposit with my other bank. Again, you are so useless or worthless I'm surprised how I got hooked up with you for the past 5 years being a fool. I guess I'm the luckiest person ever who never actually got a chance to work you about anything. I just want to close my account with Citi.
Lastly just imagine they can't even give me the complaint number which I just requested them to file.
terrible experience
I opened an account with citi bank in May 2018. After two months, they closed my account without warning and explation. After one month, they closed my Costo Cards which I have been used for couples years without warning and explanation too. Citi bank refused give me back credit cash rewards money which around $200 and also the bank interest. I called the customer service and asked them why, the only words they told me is "bank decision".
citibank credit card customer “service”
I am a 32 year holder of a Citibank credit card. Yesterday, 7/24/2019, without warning, Citi decided to issue me a "new " credit card to replace my old card. Of course, it has a different number. I have my card on file at an unknown number of merchants, I am guessing about 150. I will have to discover and change all of these card numbers. Those that I miss will probably result in delayed or rejected payments.
I called Citi and worked my way up several supervisor levels all who were "very sorry" that i would be subjected to this problem, but nothing could be done, Tomorrow, I will try the top down approach to complain, but I am guessing the apathy to customer interests probably starts at the CEO level and works it ways down to the lowest call center worker.
I think that anyone who is considering obtaining a Citi Credit card should be aware of what Citi considers to be customer service.
customer service is the worst when you need it!
Let me start off by saying that your Customer Service Team needs proper training in Customer "CARE" and Customer retention.
I had Citi Double Cash Card and Advantage Card for about 10 years Paid off the balance every month. Of course, everything hunky dory, until I miss 1 payment so I call thinking, "well I have been with these guys for 10 years sure they'll help me out since it's my first instance in 10 years of our relationship". But OF COURSE NOT, spoke with Crystal employee # CJX58 (who was supposedly the supervisor) and she was MORE THAN HAPPY and cancelled both my cards. I have a feeling she was getting FIRED that day and she wanted to sabotage as many customer as she could before Exiting. I just had a feeling she was having a BAD day and taking it out on her customers. I actually make about $1000 in purchases every month and pay them off. So for me, it was not about the $25 late fee but as much as feeling like Bank DID NOT CARE after a 10 Year relationship.
credit card
I have charged a amount of close to S$30K to the Citibank Premiermiles Card for the insurance related transaction BUT I noticed that no point was awarded to these transactions.
I have called the Customer Service and they inform me that the transaction is exclude from the miles award as it is a insurance related transaction.
However, before I perform the transaction, I had checked the CITIBANK Premiermiles Card website and it is only indicate as follows:
a. Excludes purchases made on flexible payment plans, income tax and cash advances. Overseas spending is identified as transactions amount posted in foreign currency only
The 2 Citibank officers that called me had told me that there are other Terms & Conditions hidden in the webpage.
My point to them is, then they should keep the Term & condition link at the point (a) above.
As a customer, I will take it that only flexiible payment plans, income tax and cash advances transactions are excluded as per the 'term and conditions' listed on this page.
I have informed 3 citibank officers about this unfairness to a customer and they are still ignore my request to re-imburse the miles to me.
And when I told them that I want to further escalate, the 2nd officer told me that he is the highest officer that I can escalate and he will not reimburse my point. This is ridiculous and unfair to the customer.
unexpectedly closed accounts
First I received a letter in the mail for each of my bank accounts, from citibank, stating it will close on June 15, 2019. After calling the citigold number the woman directs me to the local branch. I go into the branch and they tell me to contact my rep manager who is not at this branch location. So I wait for a call from her as this branch tells me they have sent all the information over, and nothing. So a few days I call the woman myself. I leave a message. She then calls me back and eventually I am informed that the "back office" has decided to close my accounts because of the way I deposit cash. I explained to the woman, that when I deposit I just do multiple transactions to keep everything separate on my end, such as someone who owed me money for something I charged on my card. She also informed me I use zelle, apple pay, square too much.
I let her know why I deposit the way I do and she asked if I would be willing to ask whomever owes me money to write me a check or send money through zelle, and I told her yes I could, however how is that not different than what I am currently doing?!
My parents have a business in which square is part of their business, this goes into an account my name is on, I even told her I could move that to a business account to make things easier and separate; even though when we file taxes its under our SSN and not a business EIN.
So after her speaking on my behalf to the "back office" she tells me they are staying with their decision. Not once was I informed that my debit card would stop working, or that i could not access anything online. So I couldn't do anything with my account.
So I go in on June 14th, close out all 5 of my accounts, and go on my merry way.
Fast Forward to July 10, 2019 I get an email saying one of my bills didn't go through onto my credit card, so I check on my citibank app and it shows all of my accounts have been close. NO WARNING, NO LETTER, NO CALL, NOTHING. How embarrassing! I have a few bills that I autopay that couldn't go through. WHY would citibank be doing something like this to someone? at least inform me so I can make sure all my bills are being paid.
So I have since wrote a letter asking why this is happening, since no one can give me a reason over the phone, which is so stupid. Isn't there a person who will have to read my letter and respond to me? Can't that person just answer that over the phone? Doesn't make any sense to me. If anything they need to send the letter stating why without us having to ask. Of course we want to know why our accounts have been closed. I had 8 different accounts with citibank, and 4 bank accounts, I loved everything about citibank and would always refer people to the bank, but after this I feel like citibank has robbed me of everything. I did not have 1 delinquent account, and always made sure my card was paid in full every month and on time. Is that the problem? That I pay on time and citiabnk wants the people who dont pay on time to get their money?
And my last complaint... I have the costco citi visa which i earn cash back for my purchases and also the double cash card. Both have cash back that I have earned, I should have a right to that. I called and asked how to retrieve that cash, and was told "because your accounts are closed you forfeit that money" UMM, excuse me! First of all, had I been told citibank was closing my accounts I would've use my rewards up before loosing them. That is the whole point of having these reward earning cards. Secondly, I earned those rewards fairly, and should be given them, even if the account is closed. They should apply whatever cash reward is there to the statement balance.
Citibank is discriminating against me for whatever reason and it is not okay, nor fair.
online banking / online payment service
On 10/26/2018, I made a payment via Citibank Online Banking / Online Payment Service to T-Mobile for my Nov. 2018 Cell Phone Service. The payment detail information is listed as follows:
Payment Amount: $33.89
Payment Date: 10/26/18
Payment Cleared Date: 10/30/18
Payment Reference Number: 13048
On 11/2/2018, T-Mobile cut off my cell phone service and claimed they had not received my payment. I had to go to T-Mobile store and made another payment in order to had my phone service back.
Meanwhile, I reported payment problem to Citibank. All they did is telling me Citibank sent a letter to T-Mobile and told them I made payment. At the same time, T-Mobile kept saying there was no payment received. I called T-Mobile many times and each time they kept put me on hold up to an hour till I gave up. I also talked to Citibank many times and each time they told me the same thing as "we have sent another letter to T-Mobile." Many months passing by and there is nothing changed. I went to Citibank Store located at 69-80 188 Street, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365. The representative was not much help either. He told me there is much he can do. All I had to do was keep calling Citibank Customer Service and addressing the issue. I told him that I had been trying for the past many months and each time it also took a long time to get to talk to real people over the phone at Citibank. I even made phone call at his location by Citibank phone. After 40 minutes, again, representative told me they would take care of it. All they did was sending another letter to T-Mobile which did not help as before. After six month, I sent Citibank another message and telling them it had been longer than six month since the payment date. Payee / T-Mobile stated they never received the payment and I had record Citibank took the money out of my account on 10/26/2018. I requested Citibank credit my account back for the same amount they took from from my account. Otherwise, I had to report to Comsumer's Affairs for this "Money Missing Issue." Then Citibank called me back and left message on my answering machine stating "they spoke to T-Mobile and they took care of the issue." By that time, I thought problem was resolved and T-Mobile should had $33.89 credit in my account. The following month, I went to T-Mobile Store and try to pay my cell phone monthly bill. I asked the representative to check my account and see if there was $33.89 credit to be utilized to cover my monthly bill. The representative told me there was only $27.79 credit on my account which was not enough to cover my monthly bill. I had to make another payment for $33.89 and kept this credit for $27.79. After that, I contacted Citibank and told them update my payment amount to T-Mobile for the amount Citibank took money out of my Citibank account on 10/26/2018. It has been almost two more months and nothing happens. My T-Mobile account still shows I had $27.79 credit and Citibank never get back to me either credit my Citibank account for the remaining balance of $6.10. I do not know what deal Citibank has. All I know is I address the same issue again and again. It has been almost ten months since the problem started and the problem is still there. Where did the missing money go? What can Citibank do? Is Citibank there to protect someone like me who has been Citibank customers for the past 20 or 30 years? Is it really hard for Citibank look into this problem and take care of it sooner rather than later? Do I really have to report this to Consumer Affairs for the small issue like this? You tell me what is the best thing to do at this time. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely yours,
James Chen
Citibank has not got back to me and T-Mobile still did not credit my account for the correct payment.
credit card settlement support
Requested to close account late last year. Nothing mentioned about outstanding bills. 3 months into closure, received notification about a 4-digits bill. Called for an explanation. Requested for statements for the later half of last year statements but wasn't given statements that reflected interests rates n other charges for this almost 2 quarters of this year. Called in to question about it. Finally got the statements and ended up whole matter dragged for a few months for a simple request. Was told that there was uncleared bill. Questioned why it wasn't made know and no where I could trace this. Bank acknowledged this shortcoming. Was advised a total amount and worked out together to clear this amount. On the day of payment at the branch, an addition amount appeared.
Citibank sucks! Feels cheated!

Citi Bank NRI India is the most shameful and unprofessional organization in the world. I am struggling to withdraw my own money for past month or so, innumerable calls to their so called help desk who offer nothing but lies and false promises to resolve issues. . Government of India with all its new Prime minister and people should take a note of it, how can we invest in India when an financial institution is just completely impotent to do business, and treat investors badly? If you plan to open an account, just do not. I just do not know what to do at this time
declined citi costco card/false information
I applied for 3 different Citicards, Costco as my preferred. It was declined. When the letter arrived, I called Citibank to investigate. After talking to 5 people, being placed on hold for more than 35 minutes in total, I have gotten nowhere. The final person I spoke to said my credit report shows a bankruptcy from 1996 on a Citibank card that had multiple late pays. I explained I do not ever recall having a Citi Card. I pulled the credit report from your reporting agency and it shows NO CITICARD or BK from 1996. The man I spoke to from Citi customer service on the phone was perplexed as well. He gave me the number for your "RECOVERY" dept and told me to enter my social security# when prompted. Guess what? It does not recognize my SS# and hangs up. I tried multiple times and nothing. My concern is that I was an authorized user on an account when I was a care giver back then. The woman I used to take care of had to file BK and passed away before the BK was final. Could this be where this is coming from? Please help!
credit card
I paid off my Citi credit card two months ago. I had no bill yet I was still charged interest for two months. This is not right and I should not have to pay anything. There was no bill or balance. I never received any emails or letters saying I had a balance due after paying almost 6000 dollars.
Also, the customer service person I spoke to said my email was changed. I have never changed my email and have had this happened twice for this account. I never verified an email change and because of their faulty system allowing scammers to come into my account and change my email, I never received any statement or bill leading up to a fee of over 133 in late and interest charges. This is ridiculous and so is Citibank credit cards. The first time my email was fraudulently changed I spoke to a rep. who said this will never happen again. Well, it happened again. Citi cards is the worst credit card company. I'll never do business with Citibank again.
my secured credit card
My account was closed on June 12, 2019. My account was only 2 months behind! I called in last month in May to inform Citibank that I was without a job but great news! I now am employed and will begin work soon. I paid my bill off and then tried to use my card and then I found out that my credit card no longer is working! Surprise my account was closed after only 2 months of being behind and a call a month earlier to inform Citibank that I will be paying my bill soon. This is a credit card that I use for everything that a credit card is required for . This card is very important to my credit report as well. I am devastated that Citibank closed my account! I need you to review my case and reopen my account. The same account. My name is Jasmine Wynn and my credit card number is [protected].
Please remove this if my name and card info is displayed.
not receiving credit card
I applied for a secured credit card. They didn't have my apt number on file. I called to update it, iwas told to wait for a letter in the mail to tell me to call which I did but no reference number attached. I called 3x or 4x times and repeated same steps. I have waited 2 months to get my credit card and nothing has been resolved. U spoke with someone from fraud dept and would get a call back same day. Sti haven't heard back after two weeks now. They can send a letter to my updated address but yet cant send my credit card. I need my credit card or my $200 deposit back.
credit card
My account was closed on or about 6/12/19 due to a mistake with Citibank- I was told it was closed due to bankruptcy, but I have never declared bankruptcy.
Earlier this week, I was told it was an error, and I would received a new card in 7-10 days.
I called today to confirm, because online the account is still closed. I was told that my account has been permanently closed and I will get a letter in the mail explaining why.
I now have a closed account on my credit report, and my score has suffered because of this. This is absolutely unacceptable.
I have never been late with my payments.
I would like the account re-opened and corrected on my credit report.

To whom it may concern I am more then frustrated at this point I've spoke to everyone I could possibly speak to. All the way up to the director himself and it's not right that your business won't allow me to collect my money that I need and have right to. So I didn't want to make this a legal matter but I'm going to contact the better business bureau well my lawyer will be contacting them and then I have no choice but to file a lawsuit against your company since you aren't willing to compromise with me considering the fact I live in Arizona so if you could remove the hold from my account and allow me to with draw my funds in the full amount we could resolve this issue without involving lawsuits then that would be highly appreciated being that I've done all I can and still left with no answers please contact me with a resolution asap if not I have no choice but to take legal action against your company thanks for your time I'll be looking forward to hearing an answer from you if you need to reach me on a phone my number is [protected] thanks again Priscilla Padilla
