On Saturday, Feb. 1st, 2020 At 9;20 P.M. I pulled into the Citgo service station
located at 400 W. Dixon Blvd. Shelby, N.C. 28152 to exchange my 3$ winning Bingo NC scratch-off lottery ticket. I took a moment and emptied the trash from my truck as I had been eating pudding snacks earlier in the evening. I entered the station, turned in my ticket, then proceeded to the public restroom to wash up and relieve myself. When I exited the restroom there was a City of Shelby Police officer waiting for me just outside of the bathroom door. He politely requested that I accompany him outside as he had a "Matter" to discuss with me. I was then told that the Cashiers had called the Police to inform them that a woman (ME) had just gone into their restroom with a spoon & a syringe in her (MY) hand! I was then detained & searched, both my vehicle & person. Right on the corner of my neighborhood gas station where I buy gas, cigarettes, lottery tickets, etc... much to my humiliation. After explaining that the spoon in my hand was for the puddings I had just thrown away. Not wanting to go back to my truck & unlock it I carried the hapless inanimate spoon into the store with me. How dare they make such assumptions? And then to lie to the Police about "seeing" a syringe too?! After a Clean search was conducted, my story being verified by the empty pudding containers in the trash can, many apologies from the policemen, though none came from the onlooking clerks, I was left free to go.45 minutes later
