Canadian Tire Automotive service department

Ordered four winter tires and four steel rims in September online. They had no idea about the order. When it did show up they claimed they dropped a rim bent it and had to order a new one. Fair enough. Went in to check again weeks later because they don't communicate with you. They said they had the rims and four tires and were going to mount the tires on the rims. Fair enough. Heard nothing again, went in weeks later and they told me one of the tires came from the factory wrong and they had to order a new one. It's now going to be November and no tires or rims. These tires and rims are all over Canada at different canadian tire stores. Shouldn't take more than a couple days to receive. Extremely frustrated and ready to cancel order.

Desired outcome: Let me pick up four winter tires mounted on rims before springtime.

Canadian Tire Inspection scam

In September 2022 we paid $200 for a provincial inspection to enter our car back to British Columbia. We were surprised to get "Failed" by the Kelowna Canadian Tire operation and were presented with almost $1500 in repairs. Including front brake rotors, Tie Rod end replacements, front hood struts and a complicated litanies of maybes requiring further investigation and perhaps more expensive repairs to rack and pinion steering and wheel alignment.

The first clue was the brakes. We had them completely replaced just before we arrived from Nevada. So, I grew suspicious and took the car to BCAA and paid to have it reinspected. The car was passed as there was no reason to have failed it to begin with. There was some wear on the brake pads (we just drove the car 1500 miles from Nevada) but not sufficient to have failed and also nothing wrong with the Tie Rods and the struts were not a reason to fail the inspection.

It is highly suspicious. We requested a refund of the fees and they told us to go pound sand. We have taken it up with the Ministry of Transportation but have resolved to also let as many people know to steer clear and choose a more honest provider.

Desired outcome: Refund

Canadian Tire Customer Service

I went in the store from the main entrance , with a receipt of a product I believed I bought but forgot at the wicket. I reached at the wicket and genuinely grabbed the product whoch was still at the wicket but no employee was there. I grabbed it walked through and showed the receipt and product to the other teller , who gave me a very dirty look and made me feel uncomfortable where it shows that the previous teller forgot to include the product whithin my purchase,s so i was accused of stealing it, supporting this by accusing me again entering form the exit. The teller reported me to her manager who by his turn insisted agai and again and again , that she is right to look at me that way, because it seems like am stealing! and he repeated it more than ten times and made a scene . I was so embarrased and uncomfortable . Especially for that the manager inssted that i was like stealing. Worst customer service ever!I will publish this everywhere! and that happene today at around 8 p.m. at cedarbrae mall!

Canadian Tire Tires

Spent 4 hours on the phone with this store and the head office trying to order tires that they had advertised in their flyer. The flyer price did not match the web site price, they people in the store were not able to correct the error and 4 hours laters, ended up with Wendy at the Corporate office who was very nice but directed the store to make things right. At 8 PM on the Friday night, I receive a call from the Grimsby store from someone that had no clue what the issue was about and had been told to sell me some winter tires. After spending some time with him starting back at square one, I gave up. Not worth it. Shame amazon does not install tires but fortunately there are some small tire outlets in our area that have competent staff. Good Bye Canadian Tire.

Desired outcome: Share my experience with others

Canadian Tire Vehicle inspection and wheel alignment

I came here at Canadian Tire 6014 Currents Drive NW Edmonton on Aug.31, 2022 to bought tires and get full vehicle inspections and fix needs to get fix. I waited 4hrs. to get everything done and paid $1500.00. I went at Hyundai last week for a transmission fluid maintenance and on the report the alignment is not done, and there's a leak on my vehicle. I came back today to informed that there's a leak on my vehicle and the wheel alignment is not done. I talked to Christian Ablen and he said I have to pay for another inspection and they will redo the wheel alignment. After a few minutes there's another client that complaining almost the same issue to me. I talked to Christian again and he is rude walking away while I am still talking. And they didn't inspect my vehicle and the leak. I informed him that I will sue them. Rude service and unreliable service.

Canadian Tire Auto service motor vehicle inspection and aftermath

Hello:

On Friday, September 9th I returned to the Auto Service Department of Canadian Tire at:

Canadian Tire 885 Fairville Blvd., Saint John · [protected]

to complete the MVI process on my 2016 Nissan Rogue which had been inspected and rejected two weeks previously.

After having the repair work done elsewhere because I had questioned why the vehicle was being rejected.

And discovering two other items that SHOULD HAVE BEEN noticed in the first inspection that was done at the Canadian Tire Store located at

Canadian Tire 885 Fairville Blvd., Saint John · [protected]

I returned to this Auto Service Department to have the car inspected which should have involved the simple process of verifying that the requested work had been done. I was told this by a reputable auto service business that discovered one of the problems missed by the Auto Service Department at...

Canadian Tire 885 Fairville Blvd., Saint John · [protected]

The Auto Service representative informed me the MVI could not be performed until Tuesday of this week. And I would have to pay an additional MVI inspection.

When I objected that this was an example of very poor customer service I was informed that there was nothing that could be done.

I informed the Canadian Tire representative that this was very poor service and I was not happy when I said this.

I was not yelling and I was not happy.

The necessary work was done.

No thanks at all to the failure in customer service at the Auto Service Department located at...

Canadian Tire 885 Fairville Blvd., Saint John · [protected]

If I have to explain what the desired outcome should be then this company has an extremely poor understanding of customer service.

But since you people seem incapable of grasping what should be done.

Reimbursement for my time and trouble. At double the cost of the MVI and then some. Say $125.

I will never return to the Auto Service Department of any Canadian Tire Store but I do purchase other products at Canadian Tire.

So the reimbursement could be in the form of a Canadian Tire gift card.

Not that I expect anything from you people as POOR Customer Service is the order of the day with so many companies.

I learned customer service from a very good company. I see very little good customer service today.

Signed expecting nothing.

Canadian Tire 9 ton log splitter

After just a year following purchase our Yardworks 9 ton log splitter just quit suddenly. Of course the one year warranty period had just expired. It’s been in our garage for months after hauling this extremely heavy piece into the city from the lake. We have yet to find a service centre to take a look at it. Any suggestions? Canadian tire is not helpful at all.

Desired outcome: At least provide the name of a repair facility

Canadian Tire Furnace filters

Sept. 10, 2022.

I went to purchase the Dust Stop 3 pack of furnace filters for $9.99 on sale the first day. The sale started on Sept. 8th, so I decided to purchase another on the next day.

They were sold out and replaced the Dust Stop 3 pack with Noma 2 pack. An employee said that the filters were always that price. Why does not Canadian Tire put a limit on items and have enough of the items in stock on their sale items. Plus the item sale price starts the day before the sale date. What is going on with the managers? You are going to lose a lot of customers. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Now it is the stores satisfaction and forget the customer.

Also, what kind of junk items from China and other Asian countries are you getting in? Poor quality, expensive, and don't last long -- only during the warranty period or a little longer and then it breaks down/stops working/falls apart[eg. outbound hikers]/etc.

I remember buying products from Canadian Tire with excellent quality and lasted longer years ago.

Desired outcome: I am on a fixed income and money does not fall from the sky. I am tired of wasting money on junky items that do not last longer than they should.

Canadian Tire out of province inspection

I just moved to Alberta and have 3 vehicles that need to be inspected for in Edmonton.Took my first vehicle to canadian tire store #0397 on 162 Ave. as recommended by the license bureau. My problem is with the diagnosis .Regular items like bulbs, windsheild wiper, ball joint etc. are reasonable. However they created a problem with my automatic door locks and then wanted $145.00 to start the diagnosis to repair . My car entered their workshop with 4 of my locks working .My right rear door had to be operated manually. When I picked up my car none of my locks were working. I complained to the service manager who basically called me a liar. I asked for my money back as now I have to repair my car with a problem it did not have when I took it in to canadian tire in the first place. August 30/22 work order#[protected]

Desired outcome: refund of $199.49

I went to Canadian Tire tonight because I thought great they are open! Well $225.00 later to change 3 small light bulbs and it took them all of 20 minutes! No more. And to top it off, after a block I stopped to check the lights and one was not working! I went back and in literally 3 minutes he had the harness out and fixed it again! 3 minutes. So how can...

Canadian Tire Dog access

On Saturday August 6th I entered the Canadian Tire in Canmore AB with my dog. I was told to leave, that dogs are no longer allowed in that particular Canadian Tire. On further investigation, it transpired that ONE local resident had complained of dogs being allowed in the store and so dogs are now banned. Outside, there were 3 other people with their dogs wondering what to do in order to purchase what they needed from the store. All of us were on holiday in the area and therefore the only options were to leave an animal in a hot hot vehicle or simply leave. Most of us chose to leave and take our business elsewhere. Everyone was very upset. Canadian Tire is losing a lot of tourist business in Canmore.

Desired outcome: Revert to national Canadian Tire policy and allow dogs in the store.

Canadian Tire Canadian tire store in canmore

I recently went camping in Banff, Alberta. I stopped at Canadian Tire in Canmore, only to find that this year, they had banned access to dogs.

I travel alone with my dog when camping. I talked to staff and learnt that the dog ban came because of ONE PERSON COMPLAINING. There were multiple people who had dogs with them, and were unable to enter the store.

I DID NOT go shopping in that store, as there was no way I was leaving my dog in the hot car.

I'm very disappointed to see Canmore, change their dog policy because of the complaints of one person, versus the use of hundreds of campers with dogs.

Desired outcome: Reverse the ban of dogs in store

Canadian Tire Auto Service

I took my car to Canadian tire Regent in Winnipeg for sensor installation, one of my tires came out with a cat, the technician said it came like that while my previous tire service was done with infiniti and all my tires were perfect, calling the manager, he just said we are not gonna buy tou any tire, there is nothing we can do. So you can take your car to Canadian tire for service and be prepared for more damage or take it where they can fixe it with peace of mind.

Canadian Tire Cover for outdoor couch

When we got it home it was ripped. We decided to buy one from the place where we bought the couch from instead as the quality was poor on this item. The store refused to refund my money as we had 'opened' the product. How else were we to find out it was defective? If it had been in good shape we never would have returned it. They insisted on a store credit. One employee said it was because we opened it, the manager (?) said as it was under warranty we could have a replacement. We just wanted to return it so we could go somewhere else to buy a better one. I always thought Canadian Tire was a better company than that. I couldn't be more disappointed. Customer service is horrible everywhere these days, but I thought we could still count on our Canadian Tire store. Very sad.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology

Canadian Tire Battery 20v

Bought a battery 20v sold in a transparant plastic case, had no choice to cut the plastic at the top of the case to retreive the battery and found out that no charger was provided for this battery. Went to return the product and was told that their policy does not accept a full refund for items that our open. Note: had no choice to open the case to determine no charger was provided. Now found another product at a lower price with charge at a competitor and only options I have to receive a store credit.

I believe the company has the responsiblity due to the nature of the packing in this case to apply full refund as per other items delivery in box.

Buyer beware of purchasing any products at Canada Tire that have a plastic and tight packaging since refund will not be possible
