Disappointed with Proactiv's Customer Service and Mistakes on Orders
Been using Proactiv for 14 years now and I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out. The website was down for weeks and when I finally got through, they made a mistake on my last two orders and refused to fix it. I mean, come on, I've been a loyal customer for over a decade and this is how they treat me? Not cool. I had to cancel my account because of this and I'm just really disappointed.
Disappointing Results and Terrible Customer Service: My Proactiv Review
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Proactiv. My son has been struggling with some mild acne, so I thought I'd give it a try. But let me tell you, it did absolutely nothing for him. Total waste of money.
And to make matters worse, the customer service was just awful. I had some questions about the product and it took forever to get a response. And when I finally did, they weren't even helpful. Just a bunch of generic answers that didn't really address my concerns.
And don't even get me started on the delivery. They claim it'll be there in a certain amount of time, but it took twice as long. I mean, come on. If you're gonna make promises, at least try to keep them.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Proactiv to anyone. Save your money and try something else.
Mixed Feelings About Proactiv: Dark Spot Remover & Rotating Brush Review
I recently tried out Proactiv's "Dark Spot Remover" and I have to say, it was a total letdown. I was really hoping it would help fade some of my acne scars, but unfortunately, it didn't seem to do much of anything. When I reached out to customer service to express my disappointment and cancel my account, they suggested that I try their "Clarifying Mask" instead. I was a bit annoyed that they didn't offer any compensation for the product that didn't work, but I decided to give the mask a shot anyway.
As for the free gift with purchase, the rotating brush, I have to say I was pretty disappointed with that too. After just 30 days of use, the brush started to crack and wouldn't stay in place during use. It was frustrating to deal with, especially since it was supposed to be a bonus item.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about Proactiv. While I appreciate that they offer a range of products for acne-prone skin, I was disappointed with the results of the "Dark Spot Remover" and the quality of the rotating brush. I'm not sure if I'll continue using their products in the future, but I'll definitely be more cautious before making any purchases.

Proactiv: A Nightmare Experience - My Honest Review
I had a really bad experience with Proactiv. I decided to try their free trial, but when I wanted to cancel it, it was really hard. I had to go through a lot of hoops to get it done. A couple of months later, they sent me more facewash and told me I had to pay over $100 for it. I was so mad! The product didn't even work for me, which made it even worse. I was so frustrated that I had to file a complaint with the BBB, which I've never done before. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
Overpriced and Overhyped: My Honest Review of Proactiv
This here product is quite pricey, with a subscription that automatically renews and you gotta pay for shipping too! It ain't the miracle cure they make it out to be. Proactiv ain't no better than what you can get at the drugstore for a measly $10, or if you're looking at a 90-day supply, $30. Is it worth a hundred bucks? No way, Jose! But if you're into giving your hard-earned cash to make some bigwig corporation richer, then by all means, knock yourself out! The big boss will surely appreciate it!
Misleading Sales Tactics: Beware of Hidden Monthly Payments and Recurring Orders!
This product seems to be good, but their "sales techniques" are not fair! It is not clear that you are signing up for three monthly payments instead of one payment, or that you are automatically enrolled! I called to cancel, and it was a hassle. They told me that it is clear on the checkout, but it wasn't clear to me! I even looked back at my confirmation email after I ordered, and it says nothing about three payments or recurring orders! I recommend staying away from the website!
Proactiv Review: Effective for Moderate Acne, Refining Mask a Game-Changer
I gotta say, Proactiv worked pretty well for me. My acne wasn't too crazy, just kinda in the middle, and it definitely helped clear it up. But here's the thing - I use the Refining Mask way more than they tell you to, and that seems to really help with getting rid of pimples. So if you're gonna try Proactiv, I'd recommend using that mask more often than they suggest.
Now, if your acne is really bad - like, more than 8 pimples bad - you might wanna go see a dermatologist. 'Cause let's be real, no over-the-counter acne medicine is gonna do much for that kind of serious acne. But if you're somewhere in the middle like I was, Proactiv could be worth a shot.
I will say, though, that it's not a miracle cure or anything. You gotta be consistent with using it, and even then, it might not work for everyone. But hey, it worked for me, so maybe it'll work for you too.
Proactiv Review: Decent Product, Deceptive Website Tactics
Proactiv is an alright product, it's not the best but it's not the worst either. Even the sensitive version can be tough on sensitive skin. However, the real problem lies with the sneaky tactics they use on their website. If you order a sample, they automatically sign you up for a recurring program without your consent. It's a total scam! And if you try to return the product, they'll claim that you signed up for it and won't pay for the return charges. It's a total headache! If you're interested in trying Proactiv, I suggest buying it from Target or Ulta instead of their website. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle.
Disappointed with Proactiv: Itchy Skin, Smaller Pimples, No Help for Deep Acne & Blackheads, Poor Customer Service & Billing
I tried Proactiv and it didn't work for me. The products made me itch a lot and I got smaller pimples which I didn't have before. It was not helpful for my deep acne and blackheads. I contacted customer service and they replaced one product with another, but it didn't make any difference. I wanted to cancel the service, but it kept coming and I had to keep paying until my credit card expired. Overall, I was disappointed with Proactiv and wouldn't recommend it to others.
Mixed Results with Proactiv: My Experience with the Acne Treatment
I had a time when I was really into my skin. I thought I'd give Proactiv a try. I heard that things might get worse before they get better, but I wasn't going to wait around for that. Things did get worse, but I kept using it. Proactiv keeps charging you until you tell them to stop, and you have to do it before the next charge goes through. I'm not a huge fan of Proactiv, but I didn't have as many problems as some other people did, I think.
Customer Service
I love the Proactiv cleanser, however their customer service is horrible. To get anything done is like pulling teeth when talking to the representatives. It makes you want to cancel and not buy their products. Their website chat team is just as bad. I wanted to change my subscription and customize it. They take down that function temporarily according to their website. I asked the chat rep to just change my subscription. She ordered 3 cleanser and charged my card. I called to get it fix. The service rep canceled the order however when I wanted her to change my subscription and ship it to me she claimed she needed my card. Um no use the one I have set up automatically. She said I need to go online to hit the ship tab. Went online it'd still showing my regular 3 step package. It didn't use to be this bad and hard. I've been with this company since 2009. They have gone down.
Desired outcome: Better Trained Customer Service Staff
Returning unused product
Proactiv used to work well for me. Lately it has left my skin dry and flaky. I pushed the order date back to as far as I could on the subscription service so that I could decide if I was going to change products. I’d check it monthly to make sure the date was pushed back. Product still ended up being sent. I decided at this point that I had to cancel my subscription. I already had my previous containers sealed and unused in my bathroom closet.
Nothing on the website would actually let me cancel, which was extremely frustrating. I finally located a phone number and tried calling. I was hung up on multiple times in a row. When I FINALLY got someone who did not hang up on me, he said he could cancel my subscription, but I still owed money. I told him fine, just charge my card.
I’m frustrated that this person KNEW I didn’t want this product (as I had explained to him what had occurred) and now I find out there is a 60 day money back guarantee. He should have let me know. Instead, he said nothing and told me I owed more money. I just received yet another charge from proactive earlier this week. I now have two, three piece sets of product sitting in my bathroom closet sealed and unused.
So basically I tried to not receive more product, it was still sent. I tried to cancel and was hung up on over and over again. I got someone on the phone, he told me I had to pay more money for product I didn’t want. He did not make me aware of the return policy. Now I’m out money and have perfectly usable product wasting space.
Desired outcome: Refund to return unused product
returned product not refunded; still trying to collect
Proactiv sent an auto ship package without consent or authorization with a bill for $112.00. When I contacted them they said to simply send back for a refund. I did just that and cancelled the "membership." It has been two months. I returned all the product in the original, unopened package WITH a tracking number to ensure it went to the correct place and have yet to hear from them or receive a refund. Additionally, they are now trying to bill me for an additional $32.00. They have threatened collections if it is not paid. I try to reply back to their emails and It will not go through. They are contacting me through a one-way email system.
Desired outcome: Would like my refund and stop the harassing emails
Company will not cancel my subscription
Proactive has been very hard to deal with concerning the cancellation of my subscription. I have been trying since May of 2021 to cancel but for reasons like website is changing, no one answers the phone, or can't get on website, won't let me login or cancel online. I finally got in touch with someone about the end of July 2021 and the customer "agent" said she would cancel my membership, but just this week they have charged my card and sent another kit out that I did not order. After several hours of trying to get someone on the phone, the "agent" said there was no cancellation call noted. I even told the agent in July that I hope they do not send me anymore products. But they did. I have tried several times on their website to even take my payment information off but it will not allow me to do that, nor will it allow me to cancel. When you do press the cancel button, it takes you back to the same screen you started with. I have also tried to chat with someone online using the chat widget but again not one time has anyone even opened the chat box on the other end. Other than calling the bank to cancel my card, I have no idea how to stop this company from charging me for something I no longer want. I just want them to cancel my subscription. That is all. Furthermore, I have reached out by email to the customer service part of the website on two occasions and no one has returned my email or contacted me in any way. How do I stop this from this company.
I can attach the screen shot of one of the times I reached out on the website, but I don't have the first one I wrote. I am also attaching the email that I sent as well.
Desired outcome: Cancel my subscription
dark spot remover also customer service
As much as I have loved Proactive I think that the "new" dark spot remover does not work the jell burns my skin so bad the old dark spot corrector was great I really don't understand why they would change it I'm asking to PLEASE go back to the old formula I've been a loyal customer for years and I really need the old formula back...now as for customer service it is horrible I know that everybody needs to work everyone has bills but how can we get what we need when we can't understand them nor can they understand me outsourcing is not a good thing to do when you have a business like this to run that another change that I ask to PLEASE change...C Jones
40,000 missing diamonds for home design game on my kindle
I ordered proactive with visa c.f. Ending in 2822. That order did not go through. For 51, 000 diamonds. I got a new c.f. Ending in 3554 and when I reordered a week later the coins promised were 91, 000 diamonds, but they only put 51, 000 diamonds. I contacted them by email and sent complaint here as well to no avail! I've paid the $29.95 for initial kit and then got a 90 day supply in my next kit that I paid additional $110+ tax for.as a gift for my niece. But they still refuse to honor my second purchase and send the additional 40, 000 diamonds to the game inbox

proactive
I ordered a proactive product about 2 years ago and never did I let them automatically take my credit card information and they did so for the following year I was getting packages that were being payed off my bank account without me even noticing when I called and argued about this issue they said they were sorry and my card was going to be cancelled I felt like taking them to court for taking over $1, 000 dollars in one year. But I'm a busy woman I didn't have time for all that and now I'm getting a due bill from this agency sayin I owe $.87.88 for what? For being part of a fraud from proactive I need to talk to someone and get this off my name this isn't right and I will not tolerate this
proactive damaged my daughter's face!
My 13 year old daughter started using proactive for about a week and a half to 2 weeks.. We got the proactive because she had bumps on her forehead that bothered her appearance and she wanted to get rid of it... Well a week or two went by after using proactive and she broke out really bad! She now has liver splashes and bumps all over her face, skin is very irritated and burns, eyes are blood shot red, her skin tone is uneven, she doesnt even wanna attend school because shes ashame of her appearance.. I called proactive and their response was... What do you want us to do! Well I know what im gone do... Im getting a lawyer! If your products are no good, dont advertise it, dont sell it! Dont continue selling products tht is messing up people's images! My poor child has to go out in public like this and me as a mother I will do what ever I have to do to make it right for my child!

i hate their customer services...first i even cancelled my order, membership still charge me.i even returned their products then now they charged me shipping fee..are you kidding me!?
and those customer service, they jist repeat same answer and never tried to resolve issues and showing their irritation.
and some of them, yelled at me too.
i hate proactiv..once become member..even cancelled membership...you will always get a bill...
horrible customer service! avoid at all costs!!!
The company has the WORST customer service I have ever seen, literally. One cannot update or change any information on the account page, and talking with the online chat reps or phone reps is pointless.
They promised to place my account on hold in December 2017, but never sent a confirmation email (I stupidly trusted their word) and continued to send shipments. When I tried to cancel the account after the automatic shipment in April 2018 that I never agreed to or was notified about, I encountered HUGE problems. Beginning with the online chat rep, I reiterated dozens of times that I did not want to continue the product before the rep finally agreed to cancel. Then, all I got were promises that the account was canceled but no confirmation email has been received, the account page remains active with future shipments and charges listed, and I am unable to delete my credit card info or update my account profile. The repetitive refrain is that it takes "24-48 hours" for any update or email to send, which is simply a bald-faced lie in this day of computer technology, but even if a lame Proactiv practice, it has been well over 48 hours with NOT ONE EMAIL CONFIRMATION or update to my account page.
I asked to return the shipment and got the run around there, even though it says a "60-day money back guarantee" right on the home page. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the returned product and am not holding my breath. Other minor annoyances include having to reset my password EVERY single time I log in, and that the sending a message via the contact page is super glitchy.
I will admit that the product is good. I just do not like automatic shipments, so only gave it a shot as a reduced price offer. I've trialed many products this way and have never encountered such troubles with canceling. I cannot stress strongly enough how BAD, BAD, BAD Proactiv is from the customer service standpoint! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
