First let me say I am a frequent shopper at Boscovs in Meriden, Connecticut! I LOVE the in store experience and always find something I need or want. My three daughters and a grandaughter have caught the Boscovs love as well!
Ordering online is an entirely different experience. Not a good one at all!
On 12/14/25 I placed an order for three of the same items. Their website said three were in stock and available. Next thing I know 3 Days later I received an email stating that 2 of the 3 items I ordered were cancelled do to unavailability. I promptly called the Customer Service department for assistance. I was told that the Meriden store has no storage for online purchases and the stock availability is the actual stock on the floor in the store. That they have Personal Shoppers to go to the sales floor and pull from that stock. So based on volume of online orders and the amount of time it takes a personal shopper to handle your order, items may have been sold!
So Ok! I placed a new order for two more of the items that were different from the two originally ordered and cancelled on 12/15/25. I was concerned given how close the Christmas that I would receive the items on time and was assured that if the items were shipped by the 17th I would receive them by Christmas. Well today is the 18th. No update on shipping or availability for that matter. I called on the 17th to check on the order and got the rudest girl. She said it looks like the items were still available, but hadn’t been pulled yet. I am thinking, do they only have one personal shopper the pull all ordered items?
Other than the conga I had with the rude woman I still have no updates, no shipping info, nothing.
These were very important gifts for two kids whose parents had both passed away recently!
So now I have probably cancel my order and run to the too see what is left or go elsewhere!
Recommendation: Bottom line beware of ordering online at Boscovs. Very poor process! If your items are important either go to the store or shop elsewhere!
