My husband and I where encouraged to purchase a Time Share and with that Time Share a credit Card Account was opened so that we could earn dividends that would pay our annual maintenance fees and vacation dues. We had been promised that the more we use the credit card the more fees and dues would be paid so that we would not have any out of pocket cost each year. We were also promised the APR would be 0% for the first 6 billing periods. We did as instructed using the card, paying our monthly bill each month on time, but by the 3rd billing period noticed that the APR was now 12.99 %. We called to find out why and was told that the 0% was only for the original purchase of the down payment used to purchase the Time Share. All new purchases are at the rate of 12.99%. We where again encouraged to use the card to earn dividends to take care of the Maintenance fees and vacation dues. The 12.99% was not much at first because we paid the bill off each month. Then when it came time for our vacation we could not use the Time Share until we PAID our fees and dues! We made several calls trying to resolve this matter and had to pay out of pocket so we could take our vacation. That was $750 that we had not planned in our vacation budget! We did as instructed and continued trying to get this matter resolved while all along being encouraged to keep using the card so more dividends could be earned. After 5 years of not getting this matter resolved we stopped paying the fees and dues leading to Time Share lock out and then foreclosure on something we PAID IN FULL over $12, 000. Now we stopped paying the credit card because we realized it was all a SCAM and Barclay Bank is now taking us to court for Judgement of unpaid Credit Card. We owe far less than the RIPPED US OFF FOR. BE VERY CAREFUL when approached for TIME SHARE!

I hold meet and greets with members of my private invitation/referral only Facebook group for experienced and happy Bluegreen owners, at resorts all over - this was last week's meet and greet at Boyne. Next month is Christmas Mountain, July is Big Cedar. We have educated ourselves and all love our Bluegreen !

Most of the negative stuff online is from people who didnt really pay attention to the presentation. I use my card and earn points and then on top of that I use my timeshare. I pay the maintenence and everything works perfect because im actually educated. Take the time to learn how to use what you bought. I am also a member of Bluegreen Resort Addicts on Facebook. The happy owners will teach you a thing or two about how to use it before you squander your investment. Hope that helps.

It's horrible that there are sales people out there who are not telling the truth...it gives Bluegreen a black eye..BUT in the survey Bluegreen emails you, be sure to name the salesperson and the lies they told...Bluegreen does not want liars representing them, and doesn't know if we don't tell them..

The sad part of the arrangement is that many owners update meetings we attended said "flat out" that we could have our annual maintenance fees paid for in full by using the card. When you do the research, you find are getting 1 cent for every $1 you spend on the card. When I pointed this out to the sales reps, they were indignant and suggested I was wrong because you are getting 1 point for every dollar you spend. They shut up when I pointed out that each point is redeemed for only 1 cent! Being an accountant, I have found MANY flaws in their presentations. LOL! Buyer beware!

It works for all of us who have taken the time to educate ourselves as to how to use what we chose to purchase...Contact me if you'd like to join a group of happy Bluegreen owners, Mrs. Butter..

Hi Mrs. Butter.
I know this is a rather old post but I'm a newly blue green owner and I would like to know how to earn the points to use towards my maintenance fees.

We have been Bluegreen owners for over ten years. Of course you have to have your maintenance fees paid before you can book your vacation! Maybe you don't understand how to use it. We just had $200 in bonus points to use toward our fees by using the Bluegreen credit card. Works for us!
