Automobile repair
My name is Lucio Marquez Cell Phone# [protected]
I took my vehicle to Big O Tires in La Mirada California. The reason I took my vehicle to shop was a week before my family and I was in the vehicle which was parked with AC on for about an hour and it turned off on it's on. It started right back up and ran well, but two days later I was driving in an intersection when it suddenly turned off going about 10 miles. I decided to take to Big O Tires to get it checked, I explain to Israel Aguilar my situation, he said they will do a complete engine evaluation (diagnostic) for $99.99 which I agreed to pay. He then calls me back with the results and said the problem was found and it was the following repairs needed.
Replace Idler valve control and do a fuel induction service which I approved the repair and have a paid receipt including the engine evaluation.
My vehicle was completed later the same day and picked up at 4pm. I was driving to see my son in a care facility in Long Beach Ca. but as soon as I got on freeway, I was going about 25miles because of traffic when it turned off again. It turned on right away and I drove back home. The following morning, I went back to Big O Tires and Israel said to me that they will do a second engine evaluation. Israel call me back and said they had found another problem. I told Israel that he had said it was fixed the first time and now they want me to pay an additional $350 for a Fuse box assembly. I told Israel that he had guaranteed that the problem was fixed the first time and now they asking me to pay another $350. If this was a miss diagnose, I want a full refund or put towards the fix.
Desired outcome: I would either want a full refund or fix my vehicle. I have receipt in hand
Big O Tire on MLK, Fayetteville AR 72703
On August 27th my mother in law took her car in for brakes.
When picked up the car was jumping bad. We took it back and then they said
it needed struts now for $1600.00. The car was fine when we took it in. The paper work doesn't match up or their communication between each other and us. They said they had all new staff in last 3 days.
The paper work on 27 did not match that on the 31st, Big O staff
Statement did not match up.
Desired outcome: The car did not need struts when we took it in for, did not jump around, only brakes. I would like for a complete repair of the struts with either it being the front or both. They had written it down both ways.
tire thread/mileage warranty not honored
I purchased Aspen tires at the Big O on Union Blvd in Lakewood, CO on 06/22/21 for our 2014 Ford Escape.
Tires were rotated in August and December at oil changes completed by Grease Monkey.
February 2022 a tie rod broke and the vehicle needed an alignment. This was completed by Big O and the tires were requested to be rotated at that time. I am now being told that did not happen.
Yesterday I took the car in to evaluate noises in the front end and the front right tire being more worn then the other 3. I had hit a large pot hole a few days prior and the noises started on Friday. I was concerned about damage to tie rod or struts. Big O determined an alignment was needed and told me all 4 tires need to be replaced. The 3 remaining tires are at 4/23. The alignment sheet provided only showed the front right tire being out of alignment. No warranty would be applied to the new tires for mileage and thread wear since it was an alignment and failure to conduct routine maintenance. Wes also stated the warranty I was trying to apply was for roadside and there was no warranty for the mileage/thread wear to be applied.
27,000 miles have been driven with three tire rotations and two alignments since the tires were purchased a year ago. There is still 50% of the tire mileage and thread wear on the tires. Maintenance has been performed on the tires during this time. I have receipts.
Second issue -
The Big O has the Escape listed as a Ford Truck not SUV/Crossover and the tires quoted for replacements are over $1,050.00 even with the buy 3 get 1 free deal. No options were provided for less expensive tires. They stated they would give me a good deal with buy three get one free. This feels a bit predatory.
Desired outcome: The mileage/thread warranty be honored towards new tires of my choosing.
Paid $378.00 for a/c freon/ 2015 hyundai unrepaired
Previous mgmt has been very good to my family & our 3 vehicles since u opened here in STV. This was our 1st experience with the new mgmt (Jarrod so?), Men stood there, behind the counter, yet said nothing upon our entrance. I thought it was odd that they don’t have basic customer service greeting skills, it only takes a second to say hello when there’s no one else in there. Just sayin’…
secondly, no one called to tell us what’s up w/ our 2015 Hyundai - in need of a/c svc, after several hours, I called to find out that they had already ordered the parts… I asked, why didn’t you call? You always call me first and then ask permission to go ahead to fix the vehicle…no response… No acknowledgment to what I said; He said it would take just a few minutes, this was pleasing, so we picked up our vehicle, it was still blowing hot air, so we had to drive both cars all the way back, they said it would take five minutes, they left us sitting there until they closed, not telling us anything, our car is still there today and we have rec’d not one word from anyone - What happened to basic yet pertinent communication? Just plz, if you can’t fix our car, we will take it elsewhere, Don’t say the car is fixed when clearly it’s not. communicate, answer the phone, greet people when they come in, and take accountability when you’re wrong… I am retired military w/ a new masters in mgmt; These guys show exactly how not to get it done, I hate that I had to write this. I was here when that place opened its doors; San Tan Valley has a small town vibe - Bad word of mouth will fly around very quickly… I hope you guys get it sorted; it’s over 100°, Don’t treat my mom like that, just tell us what’s going on, It leaves me no choice but to make sure this doesn’t happen to anybody else’s mom or family - I will be going public about this experience unless someone apologizes to my mom, Regina Long. PS she has brought her vehicle there every year for an oil change, yet they couldn’t find her in the system… It was immediately apparent to me that the man (If asked I will give his name, he is very nice, I am not trying to hurt anyone’s feeling) is not text savvy.. There is not one thing that they did right from the jump.. At this point, The men in the family want to go get the vehicle and get our money back, I don’t want a big commotion, I just want my mom’s car fixed.

Alignment service plan multiple succesive poor alignments leading to premature irregular tire wear
Been to three different big o stores to have the sold alignment plan have the alignment done correctly. The first store who sold the plan, incorrect. Second store who aligned it twice incorrectly then send me to the third store who could not get in all in spec. Filed complaint with big oh customer relations number 7 calls and then get a call from the store manager at the first store who sold the alignment plan. Brought the vehicle back to the first store and ask for the the tire to be replaced and was told no, the second store wont acknowledge any wrogdoing the third store is out ot the picture. The customer relations line is a 3rd party company (not big o corporate) the manager I was given will not give any contact information to contact them they are all pointing fingers at each outer and was told I the customer is correct there is nothing they can do and will not do. Do not do business with big o. Each store is a franchise and individually owned. You are taking your vehicle in at your own risk. Big o tires will not stand behind their work in the northern nevada area. Big-o wont stand behind thier work and correct the errors of their technicians. Been a customer for 8+ years of big-o. (big-oh). Do not do business with big o perhaps they will vet thier franchise owners and have employee standards for the work techs do to your vehicle. You are on your own at big-o-tires
Desired outcome: REPLACE THE EXTREMELY BALD TIRE THAT WORE OUT DUE TO MULTIPLE DEFECTIVE ALIGNMENTS AND OR REFUND THE COST THE ALIGNMENT PROGRAM SINCE NO ONE WAS ABLE TO ALIGN IT IN SPEC
There is much variation in how they perform an alignment. if your tires wear out prematurely due to poor alignments its going to the customers fault even though the figures from thier own alognments does not match to the spec of the manufacturer. When one store cant fix it they send you to another store and another store to confuse the orgins of the issue. They will find something wrong with the vehicle if possible when nothing is wrong with it to avoid takng responsibility and making the issue right. Calling the customer relastions lins (try it) will defelct the issue back to the store that took your money. Double check how the service receipts are written up and customer states verbiage must be confirmed by manager and or tech prior to acceptance of the final worksheet. These "pros" know how to protect themselves truly at your expense. This experience is similar to going to Iffy Lube (add a J at the first letter). EVERY STORE is separate with the BIG - OH name on it.. Buyer beware.. The stores do not work with each other because any non paid work the expense is the store your at.
Poor brake repair
On or about June or July of last year 2021, my husband had my car taken to the Big Os tire store located at 76 th and Wornall street in Kansas City, Missouri 64114. We had new brakes put on my 2014 Nissan. Within a week, I took the car back complaining that they were not braking properly. After close examination the mechanic said there was a piece of metal...

I had planned on buying two tires for the front. Rebuilding the front end near completion. I still do my own Brake Jobs. I was an Autoworker for 12 years. I had a bad experience with Big O many years ago wanted to maybe try using them as my primary tires for my Tacoma Truck and also the SC400 Lexus I am working on. I walk up and the Tire Boss tells me about...

2019 - Purchased 4 new tires from Big O tires.
09/03/2021 - I had a screw in my tire, I was told that it could be repaired but that they only had 1 person working and to come back tomorrow.
09/04/2021 - At 3:30pm I Came back for a tire repair but was again turned away due to the only tire mechanic working on another car.
As I was driving to another Big O tire location on Rancho Drive, my tire when flat.
By the time I was able to get the spare put on, all locations were closed.
I had to pay $125 for a new tire when my tire could have been repaired for free.
09/05/2021 - scheduled an appt but someone called and cancelled
09/06/2021 - I went in to have my other tires checked, an oil change, and new rear brakes and rotors. Although I had an appointment, I spent over 4 hours waiting.
09/10/2021 - I noticed my a grinding sound coming from my back breaks, I went back to Big O but was turned away do to them only having 1 mechanic. I was told to return the following day.
09/11/2021 - Returned but was again told that they were to busy to look at my car.
09/17/2021 - Returned again but was asked to come back on 09/20/2021
09/20/2021 - By the time I arrived the shop was closed
09/21/2021 - Was told they only had a tire mechanic working, told to return tomorrow at 8:15am
09/22/2021 - After looking at my car, I was told that I again needed new rear brakes and rotors. They made it seemed like it was something I did that caused them to go bad within 2-3 days. They agreed to replace them for free.
I wasted so much time waiting for repairs, taking time off work only to be turned away. I've currently been waiting close to 2 hours for my brakes to be repaired for the second time in 3 weeks. This is unacceptable!
Desired outcome: Refund

Feb 18, 2021 I went to the Big O tire store located at 1801 W. Foxwood Drive in Raymore, Missouri. The time was approximately 1:00. There was a female employee working the counter. I advised I needed to purchase some tires and gave her the tire size. She printed off a quote and proceeded to show me a "like" tire on the showroom floor. The size was 275x60R20. No indication whether this was a P Metric (passenger) tire or a LT (light truck) tire. I asked the clerk what the ply rating was on the tire and she advised she would need to ask her manager. She went in the shop area and spoke with someone (I could see her through the glass) then came back and advised me "it's a standard 8 ply tire". I told her there is no such thing and she became defensive and argumentative. She said "sir, I've been doing this for two years and I know what I'm doing. Besides, that's what my manager said it was". She proceeded by saying "if it was a 10 ply tire it would say load range E". I then proceeded to inform her that if it was an 8 ply tire it would say load range D and if it were a 6 ply tire it should say load range C. There is no indication of this tire being an 8 ply tire. She got very defensive at that point in time and said "just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. You can just talk to my manager if you want". I told her that is exactly who I wanted to talk to. She went back into the shop area and was gone for nearly 5 minutes before coming back to the front lobby and advising me that her manager was on his lunch break and didn't have time to talk to me. She then said "and the tire you are asking about is a 4 ply tire, my manager just looked it up". I said "so it's not a standard 8 ply as your manager said in the beginning"? I then said "I no longer need to speak with your manager, I need to speak with your district manager". She said "fine but I'm not giving you his name or phone number". She then left me standing in the lobby and marched herself back into the shop area. There are a lot of training opportunities in this store it appears. The manager isn't giving his employees proper training nor is he giving them correct information nor is he supporting them when there is someone asking to speak with him.
Desired outcome: I want to speak with the district manager at this location.

To whom it may concern- On Friday November 22nd, 2019 I went to the Big O Tire Arvada location 7425 W 52nd Ave to have all four of my struts replaced and also my sway bar, as recommended by this location. While my vehicle was in for repairs and in their possession my windshield was cracked. I realized it as soon as I came to pick up my vehicle. I told the Manager, Aaron, he came out to view the damage. Aaron immediately acknowledged that it was damaged while in their possession and assured me he would get it taken care of and have my windshield replaced. This was on Friday November 22 at 4:45 pm. On Monday, Aaron called me to tell me he didn't "feel" like he should be responsible for the damage to the windshield, although he agreed it happened while in their shop and should not be responsible for paying for it. The witness that was with me when I picked up my vehicle advised me to seek legal action however I thought I would reach out once again to attempt to allow this team to correct what they obviously agreed was their fault. I have reached out to the DM, 3 locations and the corporate office. I have called 9 times and left 4 messages and yet no response. I am very upset with how this is being handled. This is a company with which I have entrusted my vehicle to for years and with all major repairs. I am beyond frustrated and appalled at how this matter is being addressed.
